The color of my calf leather handbag was pretty worn out. Therefore I took it to American Shoe Repair to have the leather dyed. The result was fantastic! My bag looks like new. I appreciate how skillful and excellent the dyeing process was done. This is in fact highly qualified work. I had also brought sandals in for repairs, which closures did not hold well. And here, too, American Shoe Repair found a practical solution to this problem. American Shoe Repair is simply great!

I wish I had taken a picture of my shoes before I left them with Amy. Ive had these shoes for over 21 years and they were beat. :) She looked them over and said, you must really love these shoes. Amys beautiful work gave them at least another 5 years. I do love these shoes.Thank you, Amy. 🌹

Local cobbler who can fix heels and make other basic repairs quickly at a fair price. They do the work in-house. Not advised for more sophisticated repairs.

I brought a boot in to get the zipper replaced. First, when picking up my item, she attempted to charge me twice. Then she couldn’t find my item. After watching her search for my boot for fifteen minutes, it was retrieved. Once I brought it home and tried it on, I noticed that my zipper was not replaced.I was charged for work that wasn’t done and I intend to contact the BBB if this isn’t resolved.

Amy is a classy and skilled artist who knows everything about shoes. I am so glad I stopped by. My shoes look brand new for a fraction of the cost to replace and just in time for a big interview tomorrow. I am very happy.

I’ve been bringing all sorts of stuff to be worked on for over 11 years, and i have always been more than pleased with the quality work that I receive from my patronage. She has worked wonders on any kind of shoe and repair work necessary to bring back to life all my favorite boots and shoes, my backpacks, belts, and has even reinforced several pairs of pants for bicycle courier work i used to do in Downtown San Diego, and the enhancements outlived the original pants!! I only trust her with my favorite boots, and I always recommend her services to anyone in search of a hardworking and caring business owner! Gracias Amy!

I was not very impressed on how they repaired my shoes. I just think they did not try their best to make my shoes look good, the heels came right off it looked like they just glue it on. I still have not wear my boots yet, but based on how my heels looked I am sure the boots will be a disaster. I will not be bringing my shoes here again.

I hope this review would save someone’s time and even some humiliation and intimidation. I brought my shoes to this shop at least 4 times. It has been always uncomfortable because of the lady who owns and runs the shop. She’s very grumpy, aggressive and not friendly at all. I just kept coming back because the shop is right next to where I live but now after this last incident I will never go back:I brought one shoe and we agreed on the repair needed. She quoted me for $25 (btw the shop charges a lot for repairs, one more reason I won’t go back). I asked her (Would you do it for $20?). She said (yes). She scribbled something on those yellow tickets. I thought it’s just my name and the repair number so I didn’t double check. Upon pick up, she wanted to charge me $24. She’s yelled (we agreed on $24!!!!) I was like (huh?). She said look at the yellow ticket (It has $24). Now, I don’t know if she did that on purpose or not. She might have misheard the twenty as twenty four (which is hard to believe) but the way she was handling this situation with a customer was definitely terrible.In fact, she told me to never bring work to this shop anymore. I was like (you got it)

Im so disappointed in my last visit to this place. Ive been going to American shoe repair for a couple of years now and this is the first time all my repairs came back bad. The black paint that was used on my shoes is coming off on my hands when I touch them. Not to mention how bad and messy the paint job was. I dropped off a pair of boots that needed gluing. Not only did they not do the work, but they asked me to wait while they glue them, only to fall apart a week later. Nothing was done to fix all the nicks on my heels like I asked. I’m not sure if she changed her shoe repair guy or what. But the current guy is not good. Unfortunately I will not be going back.

Been going to American Shoe Repair for years. They have Stretched, reheeled and sewed the soles back on my shoes, over the years. They always do a good job. It is nice to have a neighborhood shoe repair place, you can always count on. I have mistakenly tried other repair places and the other repair places always disappointed. I am now sticking with American Shoe Repair.

Just called on the phone for help for goodness sake these people hung up on me when asking questions and raised their price from what I saw just a small time ago. Very Rude, forget about it.

Always a good experience. I trust her with all my expensive designer shoes and handbags. Prices are fair.
