I have no idea how this place got such high reviews. The hookah flavor was good but the argileh had cracks in it so it was hard to smoke, and the water was dirty and had pieces of dirt floating around. I honestly could not eat the food they brought out. It was frozen chicken from a bag on top of plain rice. I feel bad because the waiter was nice but wow terrible waste of my money.

Love the environment here and the staffs are very friendly. I was introduced to this place by a friend and now its one of my favorite hookah places in downtown.

I went to the Tabac Cafe expecting a good time. But what I found was everything expect a good time, the service was so bad, I went around 11pm and most of the place was empty but it still took the staff forever to bring out our orders. I ordered two ice creams that cost $6 each and they came in small paper cups like the ones that they give children in school at lunch time. To add on to it they charged me for three ice creams while I only bought one. Everything was so expensive too for a small serving. I would like to advise that you find another hookah lounge to go to if you are trying to have a good time and not waste your money.

Lots more variety than any other hookah bar nearby. Affordable, and delicious. The atmosphere is almost like a coffee shop, people working on laptops, others just talking.

My experience was really good, the hookah and service are amazing. Also the employees are so friendly and clean place. Specially Ayaz is so friendly and make customer feel home.

Nice hookah place for small groups, couples, and even singles to feel comfortable enough to hang out and smoke in. Prices are reasonable and flavors are great. Staff is friendly and attentive as well. Will definitely visit anytime I come into SD!

Very nice place.Hookah is very good quality, they use calaud, mix is not burning. Interior attracts by originality. Exotic teas, there are snacks on the menu. Board games available. Personnel is super nice. Highly recommended.

Very cozy atmosphere, a great Happy Hour deal for hookahs, lots of flavor options, and a good variety of food/desserts/drinks. The Turkish coffee was very nice. The staff is also very friendly and professional. Just needs more ventilation because it can get too smokey.

I have been there in 2007 on my student exchange program. I am sitting at home, and I opened the map of beautiful San Diego, and of course I looked for the Hookah place first. I am very happy to see that the place is still there, and i see from the other comments that the owner is still the same great guy. I used to visit this place after work, in the evenings with friends. We used to have a cigarette, cigarro or just hookah to share. What a memories. Great memories.

Engineer At Qualcomm. Came here on a Sunday. Lounge bout 15% of capacity. Bought a cigar (fat, long stogie) and sat outside with laptop to work. Asked to leave after 4hrs working,. Told there was a 2hr limit and that I had to purchase something else, but I suspect it was some other reason that prompted the ask. Whatevs.Cigar wasn’t even finished. Definitely not a place that prioritizes customer experience, what with kicking a customer out for not spending enough in so short a time with such low capacity. Won’t be back and can’t recommend. Cheers!

The food was not at all good and the hookah was okay.

If there is zero star I would choose that. We’ve been waiting for 15 minutes to be seated and there were a lot of available tables. After that, we waited more than 20 minutes for someone to take our order and no body did. When I asked a guy to take our order he said “I’m busy with other orders, I’m not taking a break to smoke a cigarette” in a really rude way. It’s really horrible customer service.

Great place to smoke and chill, they have both section which for work or study, also they have chill and play. Tobacco sections are solid, food is good. I highly recommend Sunil Plate, and Double apple hookah.

I am a pilot and a Hookah lover.I have gone to a lot of hookah lounges around states and this one is one of the best including Azuza at Vegas and art hookah few blocks down Tabac probably the other two .... Great hookah(this does not include the food part of these lounges) Hookah here always has been one of the best in country and the service have always been spot on as well (I’ve visited around 50+ lounges)This is my go to place whenever I am in San Diego overnight.I am at SD day after tomorrow again for two days and I will definitively be going to Tabac.

If youre a regular you will be treated exceptionally well... if you are not than expect the bottom if the barrel treatment. Treat yorself better and enjoy your night to somewhere other than here! Sincerely, someone thats gone through it.

I meet the owner Muhammad and their staffs are very on point with their customer service. I love how there atmosphere its so welcoming and the decal feel cozy. I like how the diverse cultures is so friendly here. Their menu have so many variety of food, beverage and dessert delights. Theyre hookah menu have so many options of flavors and combination. It's amazing good how long they make their hookah last in one session. I have been many hookah Lounges in San Diego. By far I believe this is the best hookah in town. They even have premium cigars selection as a options. If it was possible Ill give them 10 Stars.

Great if your going here with people and during busy time. If your like me and live in downtown and like to catch hookah by yourself. Its not really tailors towards our area. Ive been moved around plenty of times or outside due to a party of two or more coming in. When the hookah shop seat me out side Im sitting a area for four. Like they couldnt sit outside? Usually I go here by myself with my 5 month pug to chill out and relax but with the lastest happening Ill never come back here again.

Great LATE NIGHT Coffee shop with each drink freshly made. They also have wonderful deserts. They are also the best Cigar and Hookah lounge in downtown San Diego. I think they have magic fingers cuz the taste of hookah is perfect. Their coffee, tea and deserts are delicious. Tabac is a place that you can feel the culture. You can drink coffee with cultural cups. You can hear cultural music etc. So i definitely advice you to go and spend time in that lovely place. Chilled out hookah place in middle of downtown, easy access to airport... Sheesha was good, flavorful and not overwhelming. Folks working are always bustling about, making sure you are having the best smoke experience. Drinks werent as great as expected, but snacks and location make up for that

Cool place that kills the vibe by blasting the music randomly. Everything was solid when it came to smoking but if you order anything but bottled water it comes on dirty/dusty dishes. Ask for honey and try to guess how long those containers have existed being passed around.

I must say as a regular hookah smoker, I have been to almost every hookah spot in San Diego, and by far there is no close place like tabac, the place has the best vibe, their service is fast and very friendly, and of course their hookah is nothing but perfect. They have every flavor you could think of and surprisingly they have good food too. Best hookah in San Diego without a doubt. Hugely recommend the place wether your a regular smoker or just want a taste of middle eastern vibe and music!

I absolutely love this place.They have original specialty drinks, my favorite coffee drink is Iced Almond Joy. Like that chocolate bar we all love, but in a coffee drink.They also have banana syrup which is pretty rare, and Im a fan of an iced banana latte. They also have a great selection of teas. Paris is my favorite one.I love the atmosphere outside. Its a laid back part of dt so its a great place for a tea/coffee date with a friend, especially if theyre smokers.

Tabac came under new ownership today and the owner has a passion for hookah and wants to go in that direction. He recommended four seasons it has lemon, mint, strawberry, and lemon. It was awesome. Im very excited to see what he does with this spot. He wants to get new furniture and update the place a bit!

Fantastic and friendly service, good hookah and great coffee! Large selection of hookah flavors at the cheapest prices you can find in San Diego. Servers are very tentative and friendly. I was never left waiting for replacement hookah coals. The owner is extremely friendly and always trying to improve customer experience. It has a nice mellow vibe for relaxing and one of the only hookah cafes Ive found in San Diego with outdoor seating. I highly recommend this to anyone who enjoys hookah or just a nice cup of coffee!
