The Baked Bear is a must. They have brownies, cookies, and cones. You can even mix-and-match the cookies if youre going for the ice cream sandwich. Look out for the cookie of the month. The line may seem long but I goes by fast. Theres indoor and outdoor seating available, and its also near the beach in case you want to take your creation to go. Whatever you end up choosing, itll be great.

Custom Ice Cream Sandwich is just about the coolest thing Ive ever seen!! So fun to choose all my own parts including 2 different (warmed) cookies!! YUM! Service was prompt and friendly. We lucked out and had no line, but while I waited I watched a line build out the door. Well worth the wait!!

Really awesome dessert spot! You pick a type of cookie for the sandwich, the flavor of ice cream, and any toppings and boom you have a premium ice cream sandwich. They took into account my peanut allergy and made sure to grab a cookie from the back (not touching any of the peanut cookies on the trays). And it was really great. Id still recommend being careful and making your own judgement for allergy reasons. But overall I really enjoyed the experience!

Hardcore ice cream…but SO GOOD. One of the best ice cream sandwiches I’ve ever had. I had chocolate chip sandwich with dark chocolate ice cream and hot fudge and whipped cream. If you like chocolate, it’s amazing but I’d recommend getting it without the toppings cause it can get messy to eat.

First things first…the line was very long. Despiste what some reviews said, the line did not move fast. The salted caramel fudge ice cream was too salty and lacking in the fudge department. Cooke dough ice cream tasted very cheap—it tasted like they deluded all the goodness ice cream gives with milk, dulling the essence of the ice cream. The cookies were thin and the cookies and cream cookie wasn’t all that flavorful but I have to say, the texture of the cookies was a 5/5: extremely soft but cooked. Prices were a little pricey for the quality and quantity, but that’s what’s expected when you’re a block away from the beach. Overall, when we visit again, we won’t be coming back here—it just wasn’t up to the standard ice cream or cookies should be. Also, here is an updated menu.

So good! We wanted to find a place similar to CREAM in Berkley and I found this place. The location was wonderful as you are right next to the beach. They get you in and out which is what I like. Choose a cookie or a brownie and your choice of ice cream and toppings. My son had vanilla ice cream with the cookie moster cookie. I had the brownie and caramel fudge ice cream, my daughter got chocolate ice cream in a cone with brownie chunks stuck to the side. Lastly my husband got chocolate chip cookie and cookie dough ice cream. We all sat silent while eating lol. Needless to say we enjoyed ourselves

Our family comes here every year for ice cream. Their sandwiches are such a sugar overload so I cant even finish one myself, I have to share. But if you love dessert then this is the place for you.

This is the best ice cream sandwich place! I wish they had one in NJ. We found this place on our last trip to San Diego and knew we wanted to return on this trip. The cookies are fresh baked and smell amazing when you walk in. You can choose different cookies or a brownie for the top and bottom of the sandwich. Then you choose a homemade ice cream flavor. You can also add toppings if you want. Get it warmed up and it is delicious! You will be happy you went!

This really hit the spot when I wanted to get an ice cream sandwich. Being able to customize the sandwich meant I had a great flavor bomb. I wish the ice cream was a bit more firm so that when you bit into the sandwich the ice cream didnt get pushed out the sides but the flavor was everything I was hoping for. I also got a 12 pack of cookies which were delicious as they let me have a late night snack after I finished the sandwich.Overall if you are at a place with bad dessert come here instead. Also if you have a late night craving for ice cream or cookies also come here. It wont disappoint.

Really great customer service. We each ordered one ice cream sandwich - its 3 smallish scoops between 2 types of cookies/ brownies for 6.50. Our friend ordered 2 vegan chocolate chip cookies and they forgot to warm them. They Gave her 2 free cookies that were warmed for free. That was really nice. There is only 1 vegan option of chocolate chip vegan cookie with chocolate chip vegan ice cream. It was good because it wasnt over sweet. I would have it again but would share it - too much for 1 person I think.Tried the coffee flavored one - too sweet for me.

Never been because the PB location is always so busy with a long line out the door, even at 10pm! My first time at Baked Bear was the Carmel Mountain location and their ice cream sandwiches are amazing!Even though the line can get long, it moves fast. They were out of my favorite ice cream so I tried Bear Batter instead and it was so delicious! Will definitely return.

My son had the cookie monster cookie with cookies and cream. Its a big portion and shareable. We managed to eat ours all on our own, though. Really friendly service, and enough employees working to keep the line moving (thank you!).

Yummmmy. This is my second time here and it was as good as the first. This is a dessert shop popular for their ice cream cookie sandwiches. Basically, you go to the counter and pick out the cookies you want— there is a huge variety of flavors from chocolate chip to red velvet to cookies and cream. You pick out ice cream also with several flavors (you can sample). And after if you want to heat up the cookie, they can put the ice cream sandwich in a machine that heats the cookie BUT NOT THE ICE CREAM!!! *BOOM* mind blown!!If you don’t want cookies they have other options like brownies and waffles. Waffles are not very good. They are supposedly “Belgium” waffles but are Not! The waffle is too soft and soggy. They also offer cookie bowls and toppings. What a fun place right by the beach. Check it out!!

A must try! The desserts here are beyond amazing. They are really rich and decadent, so you might want to try sharing and seeing if that is enough first. Strolling in the Pacific Beach area, we saw a long queue for this place, we definitely got interested and decided to join. My husband loves ice cream and I like cookies too :). So we thought cookie ice cream sandwich seems like a good idea. We ordered a custom sandwich with Sea salt peanut butter chocolate cookie on top, Mexican hot chocolate cookie in bottom(cookie of the month) and Dark chocolate ice cream sandwiched in between. It was okay...just okay!! The quality was good but it did not bring a sparkle in the eyes of an ice cream lover my husband or the big foodie that I am. We both were not interested in finishing it completely, that says it all.

Both were excellent, although we we would have made some tweaks to the combinations if wed been able to come back - which we would have, every day, if we werent flying out the next day! Desert Heaven!Friendly service, didnt feel rushed as it was our first time. Really loved the tase and quality of the choices. Its kind of like a Cold Stones but with no guide lines you can make what ever you want add fresh brownies cookies and eat them that way. Price was about $12 for two deserts. There is inside seating and outside seating.

The Baked Bear is a family favorite! We have been here multiple times and will continue to come back. The staff is very friendly. The environment is so welcoming and enjoyable. Last but not least, there are so many selections of cookies, ice cream, and toppings. We will definitely be back!

Great novelty they have but dont see the draw beyond that. Ice cream scoops are small but cookies (and brownies) are fresh. Service was friendly, just not especially fast. Personalisation was the cause of the delay but also the draw to come. When you walk in, you get a choice from a half dozen cookie flavors or a brownie. Next you get a pick from any of 10 flavors of ice cream. The staff then builds the cookie sandwich, sundae or other ice cream choice. Traditional cones are also available.

The place is by the beach so good for a snack and to cool down.If you are a child or as clumsy as I am, it can get pretty messy eating the ice cream sandwich, so wet wipes could only help. It’s a lot - I couldn’t finish mine. The cookies are really good on their own and the sign’s cute.

Wasnt crowded when I came at 3:00 on a Monday. The cookies were delicious, but the coffee ice cream tasted more milky than coffee. I got two different cookies for my sandwich. Minus one star, because I felt rushed by the lady helping me. The next group of people, another employee was helping them and was more attentive. She asked if they wanted to taste some flavors or if they have any questions. Apparently you can get two different flavors 😑. Wish I had her.

And the cookies are medium soft/hard so it can hold the ice cream but not chip your tooth off. If there is a long wait, come back and it could be shorter.

Oh man, this place is just awesome! My fiancé and I went there for our first time since we moved to San Diego. A friend had told us about this place before. When we first walked by there was a huge line and we didnt want to spend a long time there. We came back later and the line was a lot shorter so we decided to finally try it.We were originally going to share just one sandwich but we ended up having 2 sandwiches and 3 cookies. Thats how good this place is!I had a sandwich with a brownie and a macadamia cookie with chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream and my fiancé had the sugar cookies with cheesecake ice cream. We also had a chocolate cookie and some other I dont remember the name of.Everything was delicious and price is very reasonable. Staff is very nice and you can feel the beach mood inside.We were also very impressed with the story of the owners of this place and how much they have grown. It was so cool to see one of them working there serving ice cream!Great ice cream place!
