Expensive items. Youd think they would be able to drop their prices a bit more since they are able to buy wholesale price compared to other local grocery stores but I guess not...

I love this market. So many things there. I even ended up at the rotisserie and had some delicious chicken. Prices are reasonable and like I said theres so much there. Next time we stay in San Diego if we rent a house nearby Im definitely going to shop there

Worth going here! The ceviche alone makes it a destination, and the produce is really really good too. Prices are great, selection is great, staff are friendly. Our new go-to for groceries.

There are so many good things I could say about North Gate, first off it’s right by the Cesar e Chavez trolley stop so it’s easy to get to, they also have a parking lot that pretty much always has parking.They have an extensive selection of Mexican sweet breads that are all very delicious. My favorite thing about North Gate tho is their produce. They do produce right! None of those soggy broccoli crowns or overripe pears you might find at other grocery stores. Their produce is always fresh and clean and well priced. I dream about their huge avocados!If you’re more of a meat eater check out their meat counter in the back, they have a wide variety of meats.I also really like their hot foods section. You can grab something to go, I usually get a few hot tamales while I’m there, and they stay hot the whole way home.Whatever else your looking for grocery wise - they got it and they probably have a few things you didn’t know you need like there strawberries and cream 🤤 back to the produce!

I come here every week to get the GIANT flour tortillas Estilo Sinaloa. They are the best ones in San Diego! Also, their Aguas Frescas, Chile Rellenos, tamales and Champorrado! Northgate is a must go to market located in Barrio Logan. They also have the largest selection in Authentic Mexican sodas so make sure you try every flavor! Dont forget the Spice Rack in the back of the store where youll discover the secrets of Authentic Cuisine and remember to stop for their baked Pan Dulce or Tres Leches cakes, yummy!

Clean store. Fresh food. Small but well stocked of many different types of items. Isles well arranged. Not too crowded. My favorite place to shop.

Stir shopping was great the store was very clean, the butchers at the meat case were friendly and knowledgeable. Deli/Fresh pre made food was excellent! Everything look great and the ceviche was delicious!!! Very satisfied customer!!!!!

Every time my son and I have a very special event, we like to celebrate with the carnitas from this market, a little bit of rice and milk, tortillas flour and hatch Chiles, tamales, sweet bread, and a lot of the goodies they have and carry specifically in this store. The prices are very reasonable, the access to the parking lot is really easy they have handicap access, they have a lot of parking lot, the people the cashiers the people that helps in there are amazing we really like to come back at least once a month or twice a month one time permission. One of the things that really we really enjoy is the fact that its so close to the freeway that we can just get off the freeway go to Main Street and turn inside of the supermarket and be there in a matter of few minutes. Again everybodys super nice theyre very gentle very nice and knowledgeable and we never ever ever had an issue with anything their food or the people. Were really thankful for this Market to be here.

This store is staffed with very kind and helpful people. Ive never had an objectionable experience there. If my grandmother were alive, I wouldnt hesitate accompanying her on a grocery errand at this supermarket.

Terrific values, great ceviche and tortillas! The hot food area is a bit lackluster, but its a pretty terrific place for cheaper produce and chips, etc.

Love this market!! We are visiting from out of state and wanted to grab some food to take to the beach. So happy we stopped here. Great variety of food and very well-priced. We grabbed some items from the bakery, tamales and fruit. We also got one of about a dozen ceviche varieties. Friendly and helpful service also. I highly recommend checking this market out. 😎They were out of pineapple tamales when we went so we will def be back to grab some.

Northgate is always tidy and everything is fresh and appealing(prepared food). I bought the carnitas and fixins which were so tasty! Salsas, ceviches all delicious!! Stop by their bakery to get a Tiramisu cake. Sooooooo delicious!!!! 🎂🎂

Mexican Fare, a mercado inside Barrio Logan, the poorest Mexican slum of all. Convenient for me, next to Barrio Logan trolley, and has everything VONS has. Plus the mexican deli and taco shop.

This is the place for all your Mexican, Phillipine, or otherwise spicy cuisine. Fresh vegetables, a well stocked Meat section, and plenty of otherwise hard to find items. Their shelves are always well stocked and the employees are nice and friendly. When we need spices or salsas of any kind I head to the North Gate Market, chances are they will have it.

The fresh guacamole and cerviche was delicious! Great market. There is also a nice variety of cakes and other baked delights. I had a dark chocolate covered strawberry. Yum! A great place to shop, eat, and hang out with friends and family. Also, around the corner there is a very nice nail spa that just opened up! This area of town is really picking up and becoming mainstream!

Very clean & well organize. Order birthday cake 24 hours prior, two layer vanilla cake with real strawberries in between & whipped icing. Delicious!! Another fave is the ready-2-go fruit cup & yogurt. Theres a variety to choose from. If your looking for something other than sweet, theres guacamole, ceviches & whole bunch of great tasting, hot food they offer.

I love this market and go to it regularly, best rotisserie chicken Ive ever tasted. Yes, even better than Costco.I would love to give it 5 stars. But I gotta say, staff are just plain rude. Ive stood at the hot counter while staff looked right through me to serve other people and have looked at me then walked away. Im not looking for special treatment & get Im not hispanic, but seriously, money all looks the same.And to show its not just me: I was at the hot food counter trying to get a chicken and was apparently invisible. A friend from work, who is Mexican, was also there and saw what was happening. She actually called put the person behind the counter & told him Not cool dude, not cool. She then told me not to let them treat me that way & stood there until the guy helped me. So I knew it wasnt just me.I should have stopped spending my money at Northgate Gonzales Market...the chicken keeps me coming back. But Im not sure I could refer non-Hispanic friends because of the treatment they would likely receive.
