Outstanding place! Since the first call, quotation, everything was very smooth. Truly recommend. Will be back. I went back, after 3 months for service and have to give another 5 stars. Travis gave me great advice and tips on how to take care of my MP3 and what not to do. There are no other place in the San Diego/Tijuana area who knows Piaggio this well and the very complex model MP3. After a day of repair I dont recognize my bike. Its like new. Drives incredible. Will be back for sure. Thank you again. Everybody here is absolutely GREAT!
Between my Home in Los Angeles and San Diego, there must be at least 5 to 10 Vespa/Scooter Dealers, so you might ask why would I drive 180 miles one way, suffer the indignity of freeway traffic consuming 6 hours of my life, just to have Vespa Motorsport Scooters as my local Dealer? Good Question! The answer is Customer Service! Alex the owner? He cares about you as a friend and Customer! TC in sales? Up front, no gimmicks, no Car Dealer Mentality, he just goes out of his way to find the Scooter you need, not the one he has to sell! Robot in Service? If the guys in my store were as professional and organized, our store would be in better hands! Travis in Service? Competent mechanics are not easy to find. His work is impeccable, he can work on any of my two wheel vehicles! If you need a new or pre-owned Scooter, give this crew a try! You will not be disappointed!
Fantastic YouTube content - very helpful and practical hints and tips. It’s a shame I’m not nearer (being in the U.K!) as I’d love to visit. Keep up the good work Robot!
Best place to order vintage or modern scooter parts and accessories!! These guys KNOW their stuff. Ive never asked them a question about either my 1962 or my 2020 Vespa and had them not know the answer! Amazing service, quick and affordable shopping too. My wife jokes that I should just have my check direct deposited to them. They give SO much back to the community with their YouTube videos too! Ive learned an unbelievable amount by watching them!
Really impressed by this shop. Tons of inventory, including antiques on display above the showroom. Very friendly staff who were courteous and talked to me! Great selection of scooter patches! Tons of swag and memorabilia on display and for purchase. Great selection of Genuine, Piaggio and Vespa! Told me about the upcoming Mods vs Rockers event! The premier purveyors of Italian originals that started it all!
Absolute best! Great experience start to finish from the moment I emailed even in COVID time. TC took a last minute appointment and even after a busy day was very patient with me in buying my first scooter. Super nice guy who felt really honest and never like he was just trying to make a sale. Bought a Piaggio Liberty 150 on the spot. He even though in a helmet and free delivery! Loving my scooter. Highly recommended. The hype is real.
Great scooters there and great service department. Friendly staff.
Just went to order a new battery for my Vespa Primavera. Called and without even asking ( my number must have given them my info) they knew who I was, my address and what Scooter was mine. Very quickly I was given a price and was shipped the battery. Very friendly and quick service! Very impressed!
Let me just say, Sean (owner) is the man! I had purchased a an electric scooter online last year and after a while of not riding it everyday (covid) my tires got flat. I brought my scooter in to replace the tires with hard rubber (no air needed anymore) tires and Seans prices for parts and labor were more than fair. Besides leaving my scooter looking like new, he took the liberty and time to fix a couple wires and other maintenance issues and kept me in the loop the entire process. 10/10 Customer service!
Best place for Vespa. Ive buying parts from them for around 2 years, I can say that they are a great deal better than my local dealer.
Love them, Alex and Monica are top notch and are very easy to work with. Have known them since the 80s and have always been stand up people.
These guys are the best. I trust them with my life, literally.
Fine folks who will get you on the scooter of your dreams.
Vespa Motorsport is a *fantastic* Vespa dealership, not only locally in San Diego but also nationally (and around the world) via their literally hundreds of videos on YouTube. If you need to learn how to perform any kind of maintenance on your Vespa scooter, their service tech, Robot, AKA Jeff, has probably posted a video showing exactly how to do it. They don’t just sell Vespas in San Diego. They work hard every day to enrich the ownership experience for countess Vespa owners pretty much everywhere. Which is why I use their mail order parts department for all of my maintenance and repair needs for my scooter. San Diego, you are truly lucky to have these guys as your local shop.
I own a motorcycle & scooter shop in Denver- Moto LabI tried countless parts suppliers first few years i was in business-usually ending in frustrationfor the past 7 years I have been ordering Vespa parts from Scooter west/ Bespa motorsport- their customer service is top notch. Always friendly and knowledgable. And the fastest shipping in the industryTotal pro’sthanks guys for helping me get customer bikes off the lifts and out the door.
I watch Robot all the time on YouTube. Always drops a nugget of information that can be really helpful. I live in England where most scooter shops are obnoxious and condescending, theres always a wait on parts or they take your money without them being in stock.I have used mostly Japan and Germany for my parts. Have had many parts from the USA and are always faster to deliver than UK shops.I am about to place an order with Scooterwest because parts in Europe are in short supply. Its like the Italian down-tools-August every day here now!I do all my own services, create tools and only use my local bike shop for bike/scooter and MOT sales.Robot is the best with no swearing, no edits and fluent knowledge. Health and safety is adhered to as well, as many YouTubers concentrate on the camera and forget about their own safety.Robot hasnt rested on his laurels during the pandemic, keeping content constant, often working into the night after a days work.I will be updating this review regularly.
No other place Ill trust with my Vespa. These guys have it figured out
We took delivery of our 2020 Vespa GTS 300 HPE Touring this morning. TC was our initial contact via email and phone last Thursday. Sarah, Monica, and Alex helped us when we went to the dealership the following day. The process was easy and very comfortable. We were very pleased with the price too. Robot showed us the basic features of the scooter before we loaded it into our cargo trailer. We live 120 miles from Vespa Motorsport. The travel was well worth it. We plan on having our scooter service here as well. We hope to have a lasting relationship with the folks at Vespa Motorsport.
Everyone seems nice.
I had a flat on my P200 I called Jeff at 4 o’clock he told me to bring it on down and they would have it fixed in no time. Jose did a great job and even cleaned up the rim which was covered in exhaust and 2-stroke. Thank You Motorsport You guys always come through in clutch.
Ive been going here since 1999 and it just keeps getting better.
Went the to do a job and looked around and found an interest.
I really can’t recommend these guys enough. I bought my first Vespa with them a few weeks ago and the entire process couldn’t have gone any better. Friendly and knowledgeable, they helped me make the perfect choice for me and were clearly more concerned with my needs and satisfaction than trying to upscale me. Fun and relaxed atmosphere and they really made me feel at home. Look no further.
I love motorbikes. This place has good variety service prices. Tested some cool bikes here.
Super friendly, super knowledgeable people! This is where you want to go to purchase a Vespa or Vespa type scooter. Not only do they have a great staff who know what theyre talking about, they have worked with these types of scooters for decades! They even have a service Bay for them. You can buy the scooters, buy the parts (if you like working on them yourself) or they can work on them for you! I wouldnt go anywhere else
Service Manager (Wayne?) is really impressive with actual customer service. I left there with the right parts, at a discount and super fast! Stuck around to hear about how he rode a scooter OVER 100K Miles!!!?!?! Wow... Cool vintage models displayed
Took my Honda Ruckus in to Jeff and his team as it was running sluggish and barely hitting 30 mph on the flat. He performed a full tune same day, and installed a new performance transmission kit for only $200 including parts and now its easily hitting 40+ mph and drives like a dream. Would 100% recommend these guys to any one looking to get the most out of their scooter.
Great customer service & very fast shipping at Vespa Motorsports
Greatpeople nice atmosphere will go to them for all my Vespa needs
Super long wait. Parking is non-existent. Probably good place to shop if confined to online only.
Could not be bothering to get out from behind his desk to help me. I own a Yamaha 1300 am looking to downsize. My wife and I live in an RV and Im looking for something high-quality to replace. I came in and the gentleman behind this desk assured me he was just finishing up a some DMV work and hed be right out to help me. 25 minutes later, they had moved all of the motorcycles in house and there is no room to examine the scooters. Guy spent 2 minutes talking to me, then took another call. I left. Would not recommend
They worked on my piaggo mp3 250 and did a good job very friendly and gave me tips on how to take care of my vehicle
I only order parts for my genuine buddy from Vespa Motorsport/Scooterwest. I’ve only had great customer service experiences and I am a devoted customer. They’ve always had my parts in stock and shipped immediately. Highly recommended!
While in Long Beach, CA, I decided to make a trip to San Diego just to visit Vespa Motorsport because Ive done some business with them by e-commerce and wanted to see the place in person. Staff were super friendly and accommodating. They even allowed me to test ride a scooter knowing I wont be buying it at their store since Im out of state. I did purchase a couple of accessories for a Vespa and will be doing more business with them online. For Vespa rides, if youre in the area, take the time to visit Vespa Motorsport.
I give these guys credit as they know their stuff but some of them seem to have been there too long. They ask for a part number, that I did not have, and then their next comment is so you want us to do the work, oh then a quick no problem inserted for cover and to hide the sarcasm, its as bad or worse than direct hostility. I have a female friend who called, and the guy picked up pretending to be a VM, quickly gave the email and hung up. I get it though as they do this all day long. Perhaps they leave to pursue their calling...
Had great experience here until Fabio started with his rude attitude for no reason what so ever.
Awesome people!
These guys are rock stars! I bought a used bike there and 10 minutes later I got home and had a housing emergency (evil landlord). I had to put the sale on hold for a week and they bent over backwards to accommodate me and store the bike until I got things sorted out. No pressure from them at all. Id give 6 stars if it were possible. Great crew!
My girlfriend needed a replacement rear brake lever for her Genuine Buddy scooter. I called these guys up and they answered promptly. The guy that helped me on the phone was able to search their inventory instantly to notify me that they had the part in stock. I stopped by the next day and was helped by theyre friendly staff. I was in and out, after some showroom browsing, with the part that I needed. A go-to spot for all your scooter part needs.
I would buy parts in a different place. I ordered the parts on Monday and they wait until the following Thursday to compile all orders to save money. They promise 7 days delivery but is a big BS. Buy somewhere else people.
The service is great. Very friendly staff very knowledgeable. AND lots of nice new scooters to admire
Seen your videos on YouTube and they are excellent. Thank you sir!
This is the place to take your scooter. Places like the fun bike center can eat a big bag of you know whats.
I have ordered parts a couple times, delivered to my out of state address. Max in the parts department was extremely helpful and friendly. He made sure I got the correct parts and had them delivered promptly. Definitely my go to source for my Vespa!
Eric and the guys are great. I really like their large selection and ability to test drive several brands and models before purchasing. They carry only quality scooters. We bought a 2012 Piaggio Fly for my wife and are very happy.
Best in the business. I dealt with them for over 20 years and have referred countless people to them. Whether its parts or a scooter or service, they are the go to guys. Highly recommended.
They have the best Vespa videos on YuoTube.
This place makes me drool over Vespas. And I love all the vintage scooters displayed around the store. They could use a few more staff members though, when I was there I had to wait like 30 min to be helped to get my helmet. I love my helmet though :) Could use some more gear. Pretty good selection of goggles.
After 3 weeks still no reply to my email about Vespa tuning parts. But 3 stars because they have nice youtube reports
Amazing business. Very personable staff.
Great service for Scooters in San Diego. Reliable work and no upselling. Been bringing my Vespa here for a decade now!
The best Vespa dealer in the USA period !!!!!! from their on line videos to in store service. I ordered a parts and accessories bundle online and could not be happier with the communication, quality of specialist parts and rapid shipping. Thanks
After riding for 50 years, racing dirt bikes, the guys answered all questions. Set the bike up the way I wanted, and very helpful. Love this shop and their expertise with scooters. i like Steve and Robots video.
These guys are awesome. If you need anything scooter related this is the place to go. Their Yelp rating speaks for itself. By far the best scooter shop in San Diego.
The best all aspects provider of quality repair, restotation, and maintenance for Vespa and other brands, as well. My 1971 Vespa Ralley 180 was returned to perfect running condition! These people are awesome and care about the services they provide and the work they perform. For parts and service, this is the only Vespa dealership, west of Chicago, that I use and trust!
Great selection very good customer service!
I had my Vespa LX150 serviced with them on 5/24/2013 and paid $348 for a 15K service. They delivered it to my home on Friday and we parked it safe and sound. I went on vacation one week and came back ready to ride my newly service Vespa. I found on the first day it stalled at each stop or when I would slow down. It was so dangerous when I would turn a corner I would stall and the cars behind me would honk and get mad because I would have to re start it. I thought maybe the fluids just had to run through the bike since it just got serviced. The next day, same issue, next day same issue, so I wrote to the service manager at Motorsport Vespa and explained this issue. Here is his response:The carburetor may have issues or need to be cleaned. We can diagnose the problem for $90.00.If a scooter sits for long enough the fuel evaporates from the float bowl leaving behind deposits. Those deposits can make their way into the idle and main jet causing the scooter to stall. The issues you are describing do not sound as if they are related to the service and repair performed on 05-24-2013 invoice #123849.How would you like to proceed? Thanks,KEVIN:Can you believe this? My advice is go to a business that stands behind their work and has some type of integrity. I recommend Cool Scooters in North County
Good service. Fixed a little thing for no charge installed @ a different dealer. I was unaware it needed fixed. Kept apt time, and fast service.
Bought my scooter here in Dec. And everyone there has been great, from sales to service. Theres a trolley stop near if you ever have to drop off your ride for maintenance.
The guy at the counter was rude. I was buying a cover and the whole interaction was him making fun of me because i didnt know the type of scooter my friend rides. I point out a similar scooter and asked to see the covers he had in stock that would fit that bike. He said, maybe you should just get a barbecue cover. I thought he was just trying to be funny but after a few more of these types of comments, i realized he was just a jerk.
These are nice scooters
One of the best in the United States for vintage Vespa parts. I also order a lot of modern Vespa items, and am always happy with the excellent service. You guys rock!
These guys know their stuff. Just had my 1980 vespa 125 fully rebuilt with high performance malossi 166 kit and new carb and pipes. It runs like a champ and I am so pleased. If you love scooters so do these guys they will take good care of you.
Nice shop, friendly people and very knowledgeable. Great experience, would totally recommend. And, Yes, bought a Vespa 😉
The online shopping site is great, and very many How To Videos on the YouTube site.
Despite numerous sales people in the store, no one acknowledged us, said hello or anything. After standing there for several minutes we waved someone down to ask for help. The gentleman was then helpful, but terrible initial customer service.
Great selection of Vespas to say the least! Easy freeway access. Old Town and Point Loma, just a few minutes away.
Very knowledgable and friendly. I Had a wonderful experience picking out my 1st Vespa. Great helmet selection.
Great selection. Excellent service. Tons of cool swag!!
Best vespa shop around with best prices.
The guys here are always helpful and knowledgeable they always have just what I need.
Lots of good help even if youre there just for parts
If I could give this place 0 stars I would. I took my scooter there for repair. They wanted to repair everything except what I took it there for. They told me they would only do all the repairs they wanted to do and not until then would they do the repairs I asked for. They were not supposed to do anything to the scooter. It only needed a battery charge and new carb. When it was returned to me the electrical was ruined and it could not be run. They knew I was not happy and damaged my scooter. They treated me as if I did not know what I was talking about yet knew nothing about my scooter every time I talked them. Worst customer service ever and I will never by my next scooter from them and suggest to stay away from the male egos in this place!!!
Super nice looking scooter shop but some employees could invest more time in the customer experience when interacting with some employees.
Place really helped me out getting a new tire during an emergency. Plan on sending much business there way. Max was also extremely helpful and knowledgeable.
I worked with TC to purchase my GenZe 2.0. Theyre one of two dealership in SoCal that sells GenZe electric scooters, which by itself is a huge plus. I loved theyre shop and showroom. The whole process from calling with questions, test riding the bike, and paperwork was the best vehicle buying experience Ive possibly ever had. I really enjoyed this shop and would highly recommend them.
Good, knowledge people who love scooters here. The great selection of parts and accessories, great service and knowledgeable people make it worth the drive from Yuma.
Great staff, chill with no pressure. Happily buy a Vespa from them.
They were very helpful and answered all my questions and gave me additional tips. These guys definitely know what they are doing.
Ive owned a Genuine Stella, a Vespa LX100, and Vino 125. For all 3 of those scooters Ive ordered parts from Motorsport. Each and every time Ive received the perfect part at a reasonable price. Their website might be glitchy at times, but you cant beat the friendly phone service you will receive.I had one experience where we were going to have our scooter in a parade and I needed a transmission case. Frantic I called on a Friday afternoon hoping upon hope that theyd have it in stock. Not only was it in stock, but they shipped it our that day! Max and all the folks who work at Motorsport are the BEST!Ive upgraded all 3 scooters to larger cylinders. The instructional videos that these guys put out on YouTube are top notch. All in all you wont find a better company to deal with.
Good selection friendly staff, super fast turnaround for service and been around for 25 years! Thank you Vespa Motorsports.
I am super wary of all types of mechanics. That being said... I have bought 2 scooters from these guys and a third serviced and they have NEVER steered me wrong. At this point my trust in their professionalism is complete. While they focus mainly on Piaggio Vespa as the name suggests they do sell BV and Buddy. Also they sometimes have some sweet deals on other scooters they got in trade. (I got a really nice Kymco this way and am currently eyeing a maxi-scoot Yahama.)That being said they service all kinds. Currently my Bergman is getting some much needed love in the service department. I can not say enough good things about their service department. These are guys that ride scooters (and motorcycles) and their love of two wheels shows in the quality of their repair work. They will explain to you what you need explained. I am telling you. Trust your wheels to these guys. If it needs fixing they can fix it... if it doesnt need to be fixed and you are just worried they dont try to hustle you for unneeded repairs. So a final note. Even if you dont currently scoot and are thinking about it (gas prices and parking) this is the place to go. They can help get you going and also have financing available. If you do scoot this is the best shop I have found not only in SD... but in all my scooting travels.
I brought the computer from my Vespa to have the key reprogrammed. I live in Los Angeles and the Vespa shop in Sherman Oaks does not reprogram keys. They make you buy a new computer (ECU) and new keys and lock cylinder. Scooter West reprogrammed the keys while I waited.Do to a miscommunication by the service writer behind the counter, the guy who programs the keys took off to take care of something at another shop but when he found out that I was there waiting to have my keys programmed, he came back and took care of the reprogramming. Steve felt bad about what happened and he gave me a gift care to Firehouse subs and loaned me a scooter to ride. When I installed the computer back on my scooter and tried to start it, the scooter would not start. Robot said that I should check the antenna for the chipped key and I did. The antenna had fallen from around the key cylinder and when I put it back on, the bike started right up. I asked them a few more tech questions which they answered for me. Try calling a motorcycle or car shop and try to ask technical question, they will just tell you to bring it in and they will take a look at it for you but the guys at scooter west answered my questions and made sure I was happy. The guys did a great job and I highly recommend them. They are good honest guys.
Terrible! Installed used parts (exhaust) and charged for new. Every time in the shop mechanic (Jeff) left numerous tool marks on the case and scratched paint. After 3K in upgrades (exhaust, suspension, tires, top end, upgraded clutch) major oil leak after every ride. Went to the shop to discussion options to address the leak. Mechanic Jeff, obviously ticked off engage me and said he had worked on the bike twice and said it is the nature of Vespas to leak oil and I should just live with it. I approached the owner (Steve) who came to the service area wherein Jeff came apart. In front of the owner, he flipped me off a half a dozen times, yelled FU at least 5 times told me to sell my scooter and get something else and closed the door on me. Owner Steve did nothing and also said I should live with it. Dont trust these guys. Buy the way my Vespa is brand new with less than 1200 miles. I will sell it and never buy the product again. Watch out for Steve, Kevin, and especially Jeff (nut case). They act this way because they are the only Vespa dealer in SD County.
The best place to buy Piaggio parts and motorcycles.
Ordered parts based on what they said was compatible for my Vespa. Got the parts and they did not fit. They would allow returns but charge you a 20% restocking fee. Email from them were rude and condescending. Will not do business with them again....
Let me preface by saying Vespa Motorsport has beautiful inventory and its definitely a one-stop shop for all things Vespa. However, I wanted to buy a new (second) scoot last year so I, of course, went into Vespa Motorsports. It was really not possible to buy a plain Vespa. Every bike had been outfitted with after market accessories such as chrome, mirrors, or other trim. Granted, they were gorgeous but the added bits put them squarely out of my price range. There was no way to buy a normal, unadorned scooter. I ended up buying a motorcycle...but really want another Vespa. The nearest Vespa dealer other than VM was too far away to get there via public transportation to pick up a bike if I made a purchase. VM, if youre listening, PLEASE stop adding the extra trimmings to all of the scoots. I know I cant be the only person who has had this experience.
First time customer I needed a head lamp bulb that they had in stock! called them after being quoted over $80 each for the same part from somewhere else that wasnt even in stock! so my total was under $40 for a total of 4 bulbs from motorsport scooters it was a good experience not to mention they have awesome customer service and I look forward to doing business at motorsport again.
I have been to multiple motorcycle sales places trying to find parts for a scooter I have and it seems that the Vespa Place seem to have the parts if youre looking for things that are hard to find for your scooter you might find it at the Vespa Place great customer service and a lot of knowledge of small engine type motorcycles
Best service ever! Thanks Jose,
Great service and friendly people
