If youre looking for a BMW bike, this is the place to get it, a few months later til I got the chance to give them this review. I cant be any happier, go see Alberto in Sales to get your bimmer bike, no pressure to sell you anything, will answer all of your questions and if there is a demo bike available, you will get to test ride a demo. Loving my 2020 R1250GSA HP
They worked with me to make a great vacation. The service department is very good too
Worst customer service experience ever. Upon entrance there was not one single person interested or remotely available to answer questions about the items in the store. My mother and I stood in a line, in hopes of talking to someone who would help us, we waited there for a while, but since there was no signs, movement or indication that we were in the right place, we stepped away for a second. By the time we came back, about 3 seconds later, there was another man in line, who did not acknowledge we were there first, neither did the sales associates, who had definitely seen us there. its worth mentioning that my mother is a 72 year old woman...the whole ambience reeked of testosterone driven cavemen. The interaction with the sales associate was no different, he mocked every question we had, responded with little to non-useful information, did not give with any solutions and was not able to provide a pleasant shopping experience. We were disrespected and left with a sour taste of misogyny. This is supposed to be a high-end store with high-end products and high-end service, at the very least I expect some respect. Never shopping here again.
Stop by here and talk about buying my first BMW motorcycle. Staff was great and very informative on what they sell. Staff answered all my questions and had a good understanding of what I wanted to buy and why. Probably the best dealer for BMW in Southern California. Did not buy a motorcycle from them but I will go back to them for other motorcycle in the future.
Very limited parts in stock...Counter people are nice, I asked if the part was made of gold or sterling
Very knowledgeable staff and sales people. I am very happy to do business here. They go extra mile to help to riders. Service manager Troy is above and beyond. They make every customer feel special, not just me. I watched and listened these guys and I determined that, they are the best in California..
Service department was great; completed 18k mile service while I waited. Staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive. I felt very comfortable having them work on my bike.
I am on an overland Moro trip from Seattle to Chile. I went down hard around the salton sea and needed repairs. When I got to the dealer I was looking at 3-4 days to get my parts. This means I was going to spend as much money waiting at a hotel as the cost of the parts. The guys there took mercy on me and robbed them from a demo. Vic, and Ski took awesome care of me. Can’t say enough good about those guys. The service manager whose name I do not remember was also instrumental in getting me back to my adventure. Made it to La Paz guys, much thanks! Ps the bike is again in need of your help but will have to make it to Mexico City as is. Thanks again!
Although I havent bought a bike from this dealership, Ive had a great conversation with the salesperson. As a beginner rider he taught me a bunch of tips on what sort of gear to get & what type of bike to start on. They had a Hyosung in stock but luckily I didnt purchase it because I hadnt known how unavailable parts are for that bike. I wish I couldve went through with purchasing the G310R. Nonetheless Ive had a great customer experience & I highly recommend this dealership if youre looking for your next bike!
Had a great experience today with Alberto in sales. Called ahead and came in to get some hands on with an F 850 GS. Alberto had one pulled and ready for me to demo. In sitting on it, initially didnt quite seem like the right bike, so he showed me an 850 GS ADVENTURE for comparison and we both realized right away the bike was too big for me (at 56 it was a near embarrassing moment when my feet couldnt touch the ground to hold the bike up). Instantly in recognizing the the height issue, he showed me a F 750 GS same color and style, he explained the differences and shared his own experience with them which was really helpful. In doing a full walk around and learning it seemed like this was the right bike for me. Alberto set me up with a demo and what was supposed to be a 20 minute ride turned into an hour (oops), had fun (though felt bad coming back late losing track of time), Alberto didnt seem to mind or worry and even spent some extra time talking with me about how it went and teaching me about some additional features and answering a ton of questions I had. Initial pricing was straight, which was something I appreciated, specifically the no nonsense of freight fees or any other bs charges which many other dealerships try to sneak in. Simple and straight forward. We went over some financing options and Im looking forward to following up in hopefully buying the 2020 F 750 GS from Alberto in the upcoming week. (pending my affordability, at which point Ill update this review and add photos). Thanks for the great positive experience with BMW Motorcycles, really enjoyed things start to finish and Albertos no pressure style paired with his knowledge and expertise.
This review is a long time coming and it truly pains me to have to write this...I purchased a 2015 BMW S1000RR back in 2015 and rode it for 3 years before selling it. During my entire ownership experience, I took it into the San Diego BMW Motorcycles service department exclusively multiple times for service, recalls, and install aftermarket parts on the bike. Last year I purchased a 2015 R1200GS and have absolutely been loving the bike. Ive been riding so much that one screw backed out which held the windscreen in place and caused it to wobble at highway speeds. I thought to myself no big deal as I have a good relationship with my local dealer and should be able to pick one up on my way into work. I understand service departments need to make money however I went into the service department thinking I would get one for free. They had the screw (obviously) and told me it would cost $5.60. I thought about paying when I realized that each and every time I had been there before I had been given a 10% military discount on parts (not labor). I asked if I would be able to borrow a star driver to screw it in real quick but the service department said they couldnt do that but could sell me the star driver at the parts counter. I was upset, to say the least, I reluctantly asked about the military discount to save roughly 50 cents and again they said no. It was at this moment when I realized the following...This dealership only cares about their bottom line and not about building lasting relationships with owners and I will never spend another dollar at this dealer even if it is to buy 1 screw. In closing, Id like to address a very simple concept. Im 32 years old now and will be riding motorcycles for the foreseeable future. How much money have they lost by having one less customer no longer purchase bikes/parts from them or have them service my motorcycles? If they treat me like this then rest assured you can expect the same. This dealer will gladly sell you a bike, overpriced BMW accessories, and service your motorcycle with competent service technicians; that being said they are not looking at the entire ownership experience, and when buying a BMW Motorcycle that is something that many folks look for. BMW Motorcycles of Escondido is just up the I-15 aways and is definitely worth the commute. They are premium BMW Dealer with folks who work in each department (Sales, Parts, Service) who are real bikers and understand that building relationships with customers is more than just the bottom line.
They are completely indifferent. I do not understand this type of business model. These people have no drive to sell. Sooner or later this will catch upto this dealership.Positive experiences fade away, negative engrave the soul. Manni Mag.
Always a great place to buy a bike or visit the service department. For being a dealership the maintenence prices are very competitive to any third party mechanics in the area. Plus, they will help you outfit your bike and give you good advice. Very friendly staff and they strive to make you feel at home. Always inviting you to nice special events. The BMW product line of accessories arent cheap and no real deals here. But the selection is good and its a standard price.
They have always treated me well. Its so nice to have honest and forthright people to deal with. Whether its parts, service, or when I purchased from them, I always knew what was going on. Never a doubt, nothing hidden. I cant think of anyone better in this business. Not cheap, since its BMW, but you always know what you are buying, and always get what you paid for. Professionalism and honesty is priceless.
Great service department!! Honest and knowledgeable. Sales guys well they are sales men...
Disclaimer, I havent actually bought anything here or had anything serviced here. I am not in the market for a new bike and to be honest, I am not a BMW person. Dont get me wrong, they are great bikes, just not for me. Anyways, I went here on 12/8/2018 for the 2019 GS1250 reveal and taco lunch. Everyone that worked there was very welcoming. They all had a smile on their face and were passionate about their bikes. Everyone seemed to be very knowledgeable about the products they sell. They encouraged everyone to sit on the bikes, start them up, play with the menus. There was zero pressure to buy anything. If I was looking for a BMW or knew someone that was, I would come here or refer a friend to this place.
My experience with San Diego BMW Motorcycles is gratifying because the owner, Gary Orr, is a hands on owner who genuinely understands the importance of interacting with his customers. My story is worth hearing. I show up to the dealership to get a valve adjustment at a fair price when I get approached by the owner. Being that I was a salesman for over 12 years, I said the salesman is just doing his job by asking me how I am doing and if I would like to test-drive a new BMW motorcycle. Purchasing over 24 vehicles in my life, I smiled and said my motorcycle is in service. I asked him if he was a salesman and he said I am the owner. That was pretty impressive considering some of the reviews I have read about customers not being approached who are interested in purchasing a bike. Gary, the owner, spent a good 25 minutes discussing an old BMW I would like to put back together and sell. After the conversation concluded, he gave me his card and told me to send him some pictures of the bike and lets see what it is worth. While waiting for my bike I enjoyed the hospitality and setting of the dealership. When it came time to pay for the service, I had some questions for the service writer and technician which were explained and I was not happy with the service writer. Since the owner demonstrated his commitment toward excellent customer service during my visit, he came outside and asked me what happened and how service can be improved. My point is when the leadership of an organization is committed to excellent customer service, defusing a frustrated customer by just listening to their concern goes a long way and leaves a lasting impression for customers to return for business. The misunderstanding of the service charge was resolved very quickly and I plan to continue servicing my R1200RT at San Diego BMW Motorcycles as long as Gary Orr is the owner. This is the second BMW Motorcycle dealership I have used to service my bike and San Diego Motorcycles is by far more honest and reliable.
Sales manager is awesome, down to earth, loves motorcycles and is very knowledgeable. The man who does the financing, also a great guy who loves bikes, knows his stuff and is super friendly. Rarely do I come in here and see these guys not smiling. The bikes speak for themselves. Bought my R nine t here and 33k miles later, Im still in love with it.
My bike was not serviced correctly, my fuel filter was not replaced and my almost dead battery was not diagnosed. They missed the fact that my bike also needed additional work carried out and I don’t think they even took it for a test ride. I feel as though they took plenty of my money for an oil change when I should have received a full 12,000 mile service. DCMW is a much better option in San Diego, stay away from this place unless you want to pay over the top prices for sub par service.
Great service department with talented technicians. I had experienced problems with warranty items that Troy was more than willing to help me out with. The sales staff are all seasoned Riders and very knowledgeable about the product they are selling. The parts department has a employee that is not really into customer service.
I purchased a used scooter with 179 miles from San Diego BMW on March 16th and worked with salesman Alberto. I was coming from out of state to trailer the scooter back. Alberto negotiated the price with me over the phone and when I arrived there was no additional add on charges. They helped me tie down the scooter on the trailer. I was very happy with the sale and the value of my purchase. I would definitely recommend the dealer if I knew someone was going to make a purchase. Very nice experience.
Purchased a 650 GS in August. Edward was incredible.... great service and going beyond the call of duty.... one of the best sales person I have ever met... he knows how to listen to a customer and serve them.... Beside buying the bike, have been back numerous times and the service has not stopped... will buy another bike ... and will only go to Edward... why?.. he builds trust and respect so fast with his customers and it feels like i have made a new friend....
Ok place. However my motorcycle left with low brake fluid even after I indicated it needed fluid. Price is high but service is pretty good. They used to provide a nice check list of your service with notes on it for the areas inspected. Got no list and not much more then the generic bill. They did list areas that will need service in the future. Was disappointed they do not carry many parts for the 800ST. They installed a tire I brought elsewhere for half of what they charged 2 years ago on the same bike. I was happy about that. Saved me from going elsewhere to have it installed.
I have been a motorcyclist for more than 20 years. I am currently on my second motorcycle that I have bought from them and couldnt be happier. They have great customer service in all of the departments. My current motorcycle is the 2018 BMW K1600 GTL and it is the best motorcycle I have ever owned!
New to the area. Brought my bike in for an annual check up. The service guys were very helpful and knowledgeable. They scheduled me in quickly and I was impressed with the whole transaction. They made me feel like I had been coming there for years. When my bike was given back to me they even cleaned it nicely. Jason explained everything that was done and pointed out a few things for me to keep an eye on. A+ service and I have owned many bikes and dealt with many service departments.(Decided to give this online rating thing a try Yelp filtered my review. Will use this from here out, seems more legit.)
They treat you like family
Duane here is great about explaining the merits and benefits of each bike for your individual needs.
I went to them for the first time to purchase a bike they had advertised on line. I got a demo bike w/ less than 300 miles for near $5k off the MRSP! I love the bike and I loved the service and attention I got from the dealership... should have done this long time ago. I feel i have left finally the kiddie table when it comes to my riding experience. Hung Nguyen did a great job for me along w/ the parts guys. The owner even brought my old bike back home when he was in the area. It seems like a cool bunch of guys and a great dealership. Too bad I live in LA and wont be using them for service.
Great selection of adventure bikes and friendly staff. Not only they helped sift through the many options and styles, they were not pushy or felt any pressure to make a purchase. Highly recommended. Ask for Edward Bell... Very knowledgeable and experienced rider.
Picked up a 2016 S1000RR from Ed. Great service, was able to work with me and get me the bike I wanted for the price I wanted. Was in and out with the PERFECT bike in about an hours, no hassle, no games. Came back 2 days later to order some parts, very friendly and knowledgeable member working behind the counter assisting me in ordering what I wanted and even had a good talk about some different bikes weve ridden/owned. Ive been to probably 15 different dealerships all across the country in the last 11 years and this is the place to go.
Bought a 2014 R 1200 GS from Jason Fox. He was fantastic. I rode the train down from LA. He picked me up from the station. I negotiated with him and his manager and made a great deal deal.
I always say that I dont mind paying the dealer price if they do a great job. This place is a perfect example of that. Knowledgeable, friendly guys, and Ive never had an issue with any work done here. Every other bike shop in town had messed up my bike or lied to me about something my bike needed. Not here. I wont take my BMW anywhere else!
Always a great place to start the morning. Friendly, knowledgable and always there to help
Couldnt be happier with my purchase and purchase experience with San Diego BMW Motorcycles. Great dudes I worked with- Edward and Gary, they are down-to-earth, have a ton of racing knowledge and experience and made the process of buying from out-of-town a breeze. Best price I found on an S1000RR anywhere in SoCal.
Doing a 6 month cross country. Stopped in San Diego for some service. One of the best BMW motorcycle stores in the US! Outstanding service, and staff was exceptional. I wish other BMW stores owners would visit San Diego BMW to see how its done right. Thanks for a great experience.
I reserve excellent reviews for excellent businesses, and this one is top notch. Very knowledgeable and friendly sales staff, and the product speaks for itself. BMW motorcycles are absolutely worth every penny!
It was worth a drive and purchasing at this dealer, Im from the Bay Area. I was tired of getting the used car salesman treatment at local dealers. When I walked into this dealer it was different. The low pressure, good deal experience was great. I bough the bike and picked it up a few weeks later. On my trip back, they picked me up at the airport, gave me a shirt, filled up the tank and were great. I had one question afterward and they said, no problem and made it right. I would definately recommend San Diego BMW for your next purchase!
Great place to buy new or used motorcycle. Sales and service first class.
Started riding again after many years; ended up buying a 2007 K1200S, as well as an K1200GT. Have always enjoyed the staff, been treated fairly when Ive had any issues; service has always done the job right the first time.My hats off to Gary for a great experience, as well as great staff.
I went into San Diego Motorcycles on Wednesday and walked around the showroom for exactly 11 minutes looking at the bikes and at no time did anyone approach me or ask if I had any questions. I went to Escondido and within 3 minutes one of the salespeople, who was with someone, at least acknowledged me and said he or someone could help me shortly.
Great service!
If you absolutely must go to the BMW dealer... this one is the closest for San Diego.
Troy and his team were most helpful getting me in last minute. The mechanics professionalism give you confidence and pricing was fair. Thanks for your tips re: Baja travel! Its a great place.
When my hydraulic pressure on my r1200r dropped and I had to have it towed to the dealership, I was concerned I would lose a lot of time on my trip and have trouble getting back home to abq in time; they took care of it within 2.5 hours and I was back on the road ready to keep going! Im so pleased with the prompt and friendly service, and would recommend to anyone in a pinch!
Very helpful staff that always have plenty of parts options. There arent a bunch of pushy salespeople walking around harassing you. They will answer questions if you have them but dont stand over you like a hawk.
Very impressed with the level of how this business runs. Best motorcycle dealer in SD not only for Bmw but in general, these guys know how to deal with customers. Hung, Alan, Alberto and Don thank you so much for your help. I would definitely recommend this place to anybody in search of a Bmw motorcycle. Service department is also very good with customers specially David.
They have the best team around! Ive bought three bikes here, and have no desire to go anywhere else.
Terrible experience for me - never have I been treated like such an idiot. If you have a trade in - be prepared to meet the masters of low balling. Thought I was going to convert to BMW - but these guys pretty much convinced me otherwise.
Great local motorcycling resource. Active in the riding community both locally and nationally. Go there for one of their open houses, evening programs, or charity events if you get the chance and see for yourself.
Quick and professional! Carlos helped me getting my bike ready for my central America trip. Amazing service!
Been with them since 1996. Brattin was great. Gary’s even better, based on a comparison of Bmw dealers across the country. Cause I kinda live on the road.
Nothing but good people and excellent service, starting w/ Gary; Geoff (parts); Dave, Victor (habla Español), Chris (maintenance). ALL provide excellent customer service.Again, these are the ppl that I usually mingle when I visit them.👍x1,000 for customer service.
Extremely friendly staff, clean shop and knowledgable.
Horrible Dealer (Stealership) Stay Away - Go to EscindidoI TRIED to spend almost $15k at the place and they could not be bothered to make the deal happen in a timely matter.. (They wanted to hold a local bank cashiers check for 2 weeks before letting go of bike)Gary was too busy taking care of the shop department to be a useful sales manager (I was told he axed his staff a couple months ago, they could not have been worse then him)While I was waiting for Gary to play multiple rolls at his business, I TRIED to spend another $1500 in the parts department but I got nothing but lackadaisical work ethic and a bad attitude from parts guru Darrell.. (I over heard him call him self this while flirting with the girl that works there) he was way too much ego to be working at a parts counter.. (He should be in Hollywood)Just go elsewhere.. There are Better run dealers out there that would like to sell you a bike..
Friendly, knowledgable staff with an excellent inventory. Just a great place for all your motorcycle needs! I highly recommend!
Low key, great place to browse.
Good selection of motorcycle. Alberto great customer service. Thank you
Great laid back knowledgeable staff :)
Great bikes, parts, accessories and more. Knowledgeable and friendly sales associates too.
Great people, easy, transparent and no stress environment, knowledgable and right on
Definitely had a more corporate feel than shops I like but serviced my triumph just fine. Would return.
Relaxed. Plenty of inventory. Helpful.
Good prices and they buy your old one too ...
Ive had my 2008 gs1200 since 2008,bought it from Escondido Bmw because when sdbmw was on el cajon Blvd the sales people ignored me on two occasions. However since they moved and got rid of certain employees theyve been alot better,as far as complaining about trade ins why dont these people try selling their bikes themselves?
Loaner bikes for lengthy service, courteous staff, great accessory selection, never any problems. Happy to keep coming back. (If youre worried about price, dont forget that you bought a BMW.)
They had very friendly and helpful staff that were not only knowledgeable in BMW but other brands. This made it easy to compare between other models
Informative and great crew working there. 4 stars are due to price of bikes. No bueno as compared to dealers in Az, Ut and nevada.
Mike Lynch, totally misrepresented the sale of my motorcycle to me. I purchased a used bike under the condition that is was a stock motorcycle and all I had to do was perform service. I get my bike serviced and the radiator is cracked and messed up and there is a bunch of aftermarkert parts all over the bike which I would not of purchased the bike if Mike Lynch had told me the real story on the bike. Extremely upset and will not ever recommend San Diego BMW to anyone. All they wanted was a quick sale and told me anything to get it.
Just over a month ago I purchased a used 2014 r nine t from Gary and his team. First, this was an easy sale for them, Id wanted the 9t for some time and they had it in my $$ range. So, with that in mind the transaction was simple, easy and relatively quick. Im totally happy with the bike. The sales associate was good, and hes been attentive anytime I go into the shop, although the line between attentive and helpful and upsale is often blurred. But I get it, and its all good. The parts team is helpful, and honest; cant ask for more from them. In fact, I was asking about a particular aftermarket, not high price, item and while not discouraging me from buying it I was honestly told the shortcomings with the item and saved a few buck. The service guys are also great, at least without having to deal with any major service. When asked they gave me a print out of the bikes history, and two different guys on two different occasions told me about the prior owner which make me more confident in the purchase. Also, Im new to BMW so after a month I had some questions about engine noise and minor nits, my questions were answered and I rode off with an even bigger smile.Gary is a solid guy, neither too solicitous nor aloof. He answered my questions, gave it to me straight, as he saw it and made my experience as I like it when I spend $$, relatively simple. Now, I will say, and it could have been a miscommunication, he gave me incorrect info on the monetary transaction, but even so it had no affect on my bottom line.If I have a gripe its the lack of real aftermarket for the bike. Yes, I can go online, but Im old school and like to touch and feel what Im buying. The R nine T is designed to be customized, and easily so for the non-wrench guys like me, so it woukd seem reasonable that the only shop in town have at least some stuff from one or two of the big product producers, e.g. romoza or RSD, but no. So I have to go to GP, or Triumph, or South Bay, such a shame that they will get my $ on those bits. So, overall a fine place, which I recommend. But, lacking in that special place that makes for 5 stars.
Unimpressive Customer Service, Complete Waste of Time. Stay Away, stick with a smaller brick & mortar shop who will give you the time any day. 2-stars because its at least kempt and clear of clutter.I stopped by the Kearny Villa San Diego BMW Motorcycles shop shortly after 3:00 PM and it was relatively light; there were two customers in-house and staff busily minding their own business. Not a care for any body else. I thought I would have no issue speaking with an employee in-store. The site is decent enough, its located in an impressive commercial building, easy to get to and the layout of the shop is immediately welcoming- the Associates/ Employees working the shop: not so much. You figure that youd train brand-associates to at least acknowledge someone who may potentially be spending upwards to $14,000 on a motorcycle and all the fancy doo-dads (read: FARKLE- its not my first time purchasing a motorcycle) the first few minutes they step into your show room, right? 25 minutes later, so long BMW Motorcycles; see yah! Im impressed that BMW employees so many bodies to make the shop look like it is busy when they could care less, banking on the name of the brand to sell it. I discovered a man moving a Nine T (also the model I was looking into) onto the floor and just when I thought I could grab his attention, nope. Off he goes to busy himself behind a counter. I had enough time to walk the around the shop and its accessories three times and count six employees (or at least dressed the part) with a purpose to keep to themselves or to discuss how much they would spend on an accessory for themselves. This is seriously disappointing. As someone whos worked retail almost most his life: this shop really needs to train its employees on how to engage customers.Or hey- maybe, theyre doing SO WELL: they dont need any new customers! Well, thats fine with me. I was genuinely excited to visit this shop and schedule a test ride but that enthusiasm has eroded, is long gone and I sincerely plan to make it a mission to warn everyone to stay away from this shop. Nice job, San Diego BMW Motorcycles. Nice. Job. If Im ever to buy a BMW- or any motorcycle it is most certainly not at this Kearny Villa store.
Bought perfect 👌 used KTM
Great place and service for your BMW motorrad needs.
Trade in price of a 2013 1200 gs lc with less than 15k was $8500. You are kidding me right? I went to Ducati and was offered 11k for it...
Helpful staff and great selection of gear and bikes.
Great service and good prices. Ask for Hung
Good variety of bikes. And friendly people.
I recently went looking for a nice used BMW. While they are friendly thier prices are really high for anything used. Try craigs list or ebay for decent deals on used bikes. Each bike I priced had higher than normal miles and they wanted a premium price.
Great selection of bikes and great, no pressure sales!
Bigger showroom and selection than most dealers in this area. Friendly with great service.
To be brutally honest I got a bad vibe from the dealership and staff here. Hence when I buy my new bike; if its S1000RR, then Id rather drive farther and purchase in L A, then to give these guys my business.
I used to love Brattin---I have had BMWs for the last 25 years and I always found Brattin team to be knowledgable and helpful.I recently had an experience with the service team that makes me never want to do business with them again. I wanted a part ---the part guy knew nothing. It almost seems like they took some guy off the street and put him behind the counter--after 10 minutes of walking this guy through how to find my part I asked to speak with someone else. Some guy named Kirk got on the phone and in a sing songy voice told me how they couldnt guarantee the correct part and blah blah blah-------he also told me that there were people who brought their bikes in and only if I brought my bike in could they find the correct part.Brattin has gone downhill------I could not recommend them to anyone at this point. Sad story after giving them positive reviews for the last 2 decades
