Abe is not only an amazing dealer, repairer, and archetier, he is a man of great integrity and value. Many dealers are in it for the quick or large sale, but Abe definitely cares about the entire experience and makes sure that every aspect of purchasing a new bow is perfect. His shop is the only bow shop in San Diego and I would not trust anyone else with my rehairs.If you are looking for a fine bow that has been prepared immaculately and service that is excellent as well as earnest, Abe is definitely my first choice in all of Southern California. Abe’s repair prices are objectively lower than the competition while the craftmanship is of the highest caliber and most importantly is that they are honest and transparent. His inventory is small at times, but if you give him a budget and time, he will surely find you something amazing. Though my review sounds like a paid advertisement, the amount of respect, genuine love for the industry, and communication that Abe has shown me has left a very strong impression on me and I hope my experience brings more visibility to his great business!

Abe was magnificent. He took exquisite care of my bow, and his rehair was simply impeccable, both in terms of his skill and the quality of the materials he used. Through the humid and warm summer at Tanglewood, Boston Symphony concerts and chamber music performances and recitals, and drastic weather changes, the bow consistently performed perfectly thanks to Abes work - and continues to do so. I have been going to Abe for a few years now, and even though I live about an hour and a half away, I still exclusively trust him with my bows. His work is impeccable, careful, excellent and consistent. I confidently recommend anyone I know to him! Recently, a colleague of mine had a really important performance and was pressed on time, so he unfortunately got a rehair from someone OTHER than Abe in the LA area. He was really upset with the result, so I recommend that he drive down to San Diego to see Abe. I have been coming to Abe for viola bow rehair since he started, and am always happy with the result. The quality of the hair is good, and it had always served me well. The very recent bow rehair was in beginning of this past summer, I played all my concerts and festivals with his hair, and enjoyed it very much. I highly recommend his workmanship if you need bow work in SoCal area.

Abe was fantastic. He responded very quickly, and carved out time in his schedule for me last minute. Two other members of my string quartet also went to Abe. It was based on their rave reviews that I went to seeAbe. He took great care of my bow, was thoughtful about the climates I would be visiting (currently working on a cruise ship), and rehaired my bow more quickly than I have ever received a bow. This is impressive to me considering there was no haste in the rehair process, it was deftly executed. The quality of hair is fantastic, it has been very consistent even in the middle of the ocean with insanely high humidity. As a member of a professional touring quartet I have gotten repairs all across the country; in NYC, SF, Philadelphia, Seattle, and in the southeast US. Abe is right up there with the best rehairs. I highly recommend his shop to anyone in need of a rehair, and I will certainly be back if I need a rehair in the San Diego area.
