Great selection of second hand DVDs. A real treasure trove. The person at the checkout looked like they hated their job while scanning new products into their system. After 4 awkward minutes of standing in front of the checkout, I eventually had to say Excuse me. Hello. May I checkout they looked 10x more miserable. So... if you dont mind employees giving the impression that they hate you or their job, the incredible selection and value is well worth the trip.

Excellent selection, excellent prices and equally excellent service. Thats why I drive the extra miles to go there and will continue to do so. Just wish I could fit into the very cool Genesis The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway t-shirt Ive seen there, or any of the other cool shirts for that matter!

I went to Streetlight to sell vinyl, CDs, DVDs and other random formats that come with foreign media. They made it very easy and I will definitely return.I did return and learned on my first trip I didnt really care about the quantity being purchased because it was so unusual. But today I was told I was being paid for 23 items when in fact they kept 29 items. Maybe it was an oversight but I highly recommend that you actually count what is being kept as that was my mistake.

I looked through their entire stock of vinyl and nothing really stuck out to me, which almost never happens. The ones that did looked like they had been thrashed from sitting for years with no plastic sleeve. Maybe a good place if you’re a new collector but not if you’re a serious one, you’re not going to find any rarities in these bins.

Use this store for retro game hunting, always have a good selection if you take the time to dig.

Old-ish, dusty worn out, wonderful new/used record store that has maintained its image for a few dozen years. Like most record stores of its kind, youll find some old obscure gems and local music. Do not be offended by the staffs introvered, unattached nature...this has been the Streetlight way since its inception.

Streetlight records is my go-to place for buying pre owned music CDs and blue ray movies. The selection is deep and the prices can’t be beat!

Growing up we were fortunate enough to have a Tower Records close by. I loved going in there spending hours just perusing the bookstore/ amy especially the music course always loved the vibe in there as a kid I just thought that everyone looks so cool there was always something good playing. All the Tower Records are gone everything is bought online or downloaded its amazing that there are still places like streetlight records around. As soon as I came in it to be straight back to those Tower record days in the 80s at least for a little while, no bookstore though.. it was great being able to just roam around and The the folks working there who I spoke with were really friendly and Cool. it was a cool overall . I will definitely go back there. I bought three CDs . I really hope the people in the community go out and support this store because theyre like little gems in our neighborhoods one less star because its going to be out of a few artists and didnt know where they would have more.

Well what can i say. For me at least my last streetlight records experience was great and led me to write this review.So let me start by saying, over the weekend i missed a delivery from the mailmanIt was Saturday so sunday was torture knowing my extra special records were trapped at the post office. Very long sunday.Anyways monday morning comes and i leave home early to stop by the post office.to rescue the records. All goes well but i have to go straight to school. Mid terms thing so was important i made it . and i did.Another very very very long three hours later and im out of classI have a one hour break between my classes but my house is like 25 minutes away easySo there and back only gives me ten minutes to play these records.yes i thought of going home. But quickly realised it wasnt worth it.But i thought about it though.Then i remembered streelight records was close to my school.I drove straight there. Hoping i could use there turntable to listen to my super special vinyl i just got. But No turntable. Ouch major dissappointment so buying used vinyl here is a major gamble. I pretty much had a whole hour left so I decided to browse around I looked into the reggae section of vinyl records because thats my preference of music and Wallah Bam wow perfect I couldnt believe it I found a bunch of 10 inch UK records.. Yes i gambled. And YES!!! I won......when i got home i was so excited to play all my new records. The ones shipped from london andThe ones that I got from streetlight Records long story short ill be back...!!!!!

This is huge store with wide variety of selections of vinyl, CD, dvds etc etc. Amazing place if you are a collector of vinyl or other medias. Prices were reasonable.

I love going to this place and I always walk out with about 3 blurays when I do go. The prices are pretty good and the selection is pretty good. I would give it 5 stars but the customer service is a 1. Ive been to this place probably 4x in the last 2 months not one time have have they greeted me. They tell me the price of what Im buying and thats it. I say Thank you...have a good day.. they just stare lol its kind of strange. Im not expecting Empire Records movie vibe but hey how you doing pretend like you care a little.

Large record store with lots of used vinyl. Good selection of jazz reissues - used and new. They know what they have so you aren’t going to get any steals except on albums that are VG- and below. Two reasons they don’t get a 5 star in my book: no public restrooms and their price stickers leave a sticky residue on the jacket. Everyone knows when you’re browsing vinyl in search of items on your wish list that your body gets in on it with you and you have to go the bathroom! Every good bookstore and record store has learned this and has bathrooms available. I rode the bus an hour to get here and it was super inconvenient. The second thing - stickers are available that don’t leave a nasty residue on the jackets. It’s just not cool especially when you dropped some solid coin on some used vintage jazz albums.

Remains an invaluable music resource for the south bay, with vinyl, CD, DVD -- even non-music DVD. Includes used items, and some choice, hard-to-find items. Streetlight is one compelling reason why to keep Independent brick-and-mortar music stores alive!

I bought a Pearl Jam CD here, but this post isnt about the music selection here. Its about the customer service. Ive come here since I was a kid with my dad who likes to rummage through the records and have never had a complaint about service. Today, there was an employee cussing at his tv (Sunday football) and when a woman went to ask where she can find something, he looked annoyed that she would interrupt him. The lady that rung me up wasnt the most friendly. She just wanted to ring me up and go back to looking like she hates her job. Im not asking for much because nobody here has ever been the most outgoing but Ive always gone back. After today, Im not so sure.

They have been a great record store for a long time. For Record Store Day they were very organized and it was a breeze!

Ever since the lockdown began it became really hard to find record store that let you in to browse and to DIG to find gems. This record store is one of those rare places where you can find some of the most amazing records, cds and other formats of music at a very reasonable price, and where you can spend your time looking through its inventory in search of that one find that will make you feel like a million!

The ONLY place to find vinyl at a good price.. My granddaughter and I had a great time there!

Ive been going here since I was about 13 or 14. We didnt have much to do in Gilroy so going to the record store was something we did almost on the daily. Such great memories. But this record store has a great used section as well as new arrivals. When i was younger I used to come here for the cds and tapes of genres such as Ska Punk and rap metal.

I have been to Streetlight twice and will 100% be back. Prices are much better then similar stores north of San Jose. The staff is super helpful, I am new to buying records and multiple staffers spent time helping me navigate the store and answering questions around new or used albums. Always interesting patrons perusing the bins. Found a couple great records in the $1.99 sections.

There is a good rock section and so many hidden treasures at great prices. It is my favorite record store in the south bay! The only problem is that they will rip you off it you’re looking to sell. Otherwise, I would give them 5 stars.

First off I wont speak to their selection of CDs, DVDs or other items; just their selection of LPs as thats what I was looking at. Their selection is huge! They have both used and new and the prices are competitive with anything you might find on Discogs. The albums on the top shelf are just that, pristine condition and the more sought after variety. The ones below are not so pristine but still may be something interesting. Overall great selection, records are in excellent condition and their priced fairly.

A lovely holdout from the yesteryears. Its always good to dig throu crates of vinyl.

I love spending my weekends in the local used CD stores like this one. I know little about different genres of music and always curious about them. This cool place provides a library to me.I also found the music played in the store attractive. Checking what they played, I got some albums of some punk rock bands I did not know much about, e.g. The Clash. And I really enjoy the gems I got from this place.

The Best! Whatever youre looking for in music or movies, this local gem with the friendly knowledgeable staff will have it. Including turntables, rare pressings, 45s, you name it. While youre there, youll fall in love with the quaint old school charm of the place and the reasonable prices. Deserves 10 stars!

A great place to lose yourself for an hour or so searching for vinyls, CD, DVDs or Blurays. The staff is helpful but will leave you alone unless you ask for help. Much better prices for selling your unwanted treasures than the sometimes rude competitor down the street. Help keep these guys in business!

This is a great place to visit if youre looking for new music, or finding those nostalgic sounds I remind you of Better Days. From Vinyl to DVDs, and from classical music to Gothic Rock, you will find an amazing array of music. I like that they have little sound station so you can actually listen to new musicians. I have found some great music This Way I would never have known otherwise. Come in and explore and youll be surprised at what you can find.

This place is a dream come true. Rare cds, blue rays, dvds and video games for every console that ever existed. There is a high likehood that you will find that rare media item youve been looking for here. Even if when I am not looking forward to buying something, I love to go there to have some fun browsing through cool rarity and vintage items.Last time I bought a special edition from the Kubricks The Shinning, a PS4 Sega Genesis Combo and a original Beattles LP recording. Love this place.

When we still had Tower Records, I preferred coming here. I certainly prefer it over best buy. Since the record store has been lost to my generation (and many others), the service here has become so much more passionate, respectful, and graceful! Ive never had a bad experience, even as a kiddo! Its a playground, always! I get lost in every album, every title. I never see u enough! If ever I need to track something down randomly while Im in the store, they can pull it from a lyric, let me listen, and order it for me if they dont have it. If this ever leaves us in San Jose, it will certainly be the day I cry for our City and our kids. I love you streetlight. I bought my 10 yr old daughter her first Album (CD) today from you. Make sure it isnt my last, my dears......

THE local music store. Has just about everything, and if not, they can get it for you. I have spent so much time in their used bins and found so many gems.Will occasionally bring in musicians. They have had listening pods in the past.The only place I go for music.

What a collection of music and cinema

Happy that this place still exists! I remember picking up Industrial albums from here back in 98 and 03. I stopped in today to reminisce and spend money. Unfortunately, the Gothic/Industrial section is small as hell. (Im sure hell is really big nowadays, but you get my drift.) Since Ive heard the majority of what they had available, I scooped up some movies and an SR shirt. There is a healthy assortment of music and other media. Ill definitely be back before I let another 15 years pass me by.

A small & old school type of vinyl record store that sells all sorts of media, sometimes including cassette tapes, definitely including films on all types of disc media. If you cant find it, ask the one(s) behind the counter. Theyre usually extra helpful.

Helpful staff, good selection, and they can order damn near anything if they dont have it. Good prices, and an excellent music store to find those hard to find things. If youre anything like me, its easier to browse real things in person with helpful staff to ask for assistance.
