Excellent service. They took the time to explain the features of the Speed Queen washer I bought from them and how to best use my new Speed Queen. Would definitely recommend Guaranteed Appliances to anyone. The store is not much to look at, more like a repair shop, but you will be dealing with people who really know about washers and dryers.
I called Guaranteed Appliances looking for a Speed Queen washer & dryer set. I talked to Beth & Kristin for several days trying to decide the exact model Speed Queen set that would work best for me. Wanting to be sure, I contacted Speed Queen and told them the same thing I told Guaranteed Appliance. Low and behold they recommended the SAME washer/dryer set. I decided on the Speed Queen TR5 that Guaranteed Appliances recommended. I wasnt sure I had made the right decision between the TR5 and the TC5 until I did the first couple of loads of clothes I washed! I have to say I LOVE this washer and dryer set. Beth and Kristin know what they are talking about, you cant go wrong with these girls. Their installer was AMAZINGLY professional, neat, and knew what he was doing! Well ive seen the 1 Stars and dont know who there you spoke to. I spoke to Beth who spoke to Kristin about my situation with my warranty being a few days past because I couldnt get it to her. But I managed, when I went to pick it up they did Not ask for payment. I think they should be in excellent standing with the BBB with the customer service I received personally.
They need to learn how to speak politely over the phone. When people are calling to ask questions itβs because they donβt know the answers. So, when i ask what you guys take.. tell me what sorts of things you buy. When i ask do you take what Iβm trying to get rid of, itβs a simple yes or no donβt continue to press me about the information for you to then tell me that youβll βpassβ on the offer. Like why ask me questions about something that you donβt take, when you shouldβve told me βwe arenβt currently looking for that item, did you happen to have ... instead?β Seriously, learn how to speak to people properly. This is supposed to be a business, way to get another bad review maβam. Shame that i only had to speak on the phone with someone for me to write my first bad review.

My horrible Samsung HE finally got to the point I could justify replacing it when the door latch broke for the third time. I looked all over Austin for a Speed Queen set. Luckily I found Guaranteed Appliance in San Marcos. They had exactly what I was looking for with a great price. Kristen was super nice and explained all the features and different models. Will do business again.

The worst customer service i have ever had . i called to ask about the Availability of a part . I try my hardest to spend Local but the Person on the other line had no knowledge of any parts had nothing but rude behaviour on the phone because she was frustrated that multiple callers were calling her. i will be ordering from amozon thanks . i have a small co. and would never talk to a customer like i was spoken too. WORST PEOPLE EVER . PLEASE READ HER RESPONSE . SHE BLAMES ME FOR TRIGGERING HER HELPER . THIS WOMEN NEEDS TO RETIRE ! APPARENTLY SHE CAN NOT BE BOTHERED WITH CUSTOMER QUESTIONS . Its all good until theres a problem, and then the owner is condescending, rude, evasive, argumentative and NOT HELPFUL. Avoid them at all cost.Update (1/5/21): We had a qualified specialist look at the fridge, and he said it had a freon leak and was very low...unfixable. This was why the fridge could never cycled; but Kristen refused to EVEN CHECK the freon- she just told us there was no problem- AND her response to my complaint (seen below) is a total bunch of BS! She is psycho!
I was messaging the owner online to purchase an island and she told me to come to the adress listed and I could pick it up. Left south Austin, got some cash and 30 minutes later arrived. They sold it out from under me and said sorry first come first serve. I calmly asked and said you have to be kidding me. Never raised my voice and said have a good day. As I walked out I slammed the door and left. Angry as most people would be who had wasted 30 minutes each way, and the gas out there. Apparently the owner as posted below says that I threw items off of a desk and threatened to strangle her? Excuse me, I said nothing of the sort. The only thing I said was that you have got to be kidding me and that I had been talking to the owner because I was on my way to pick it up. Have a nice life.
I went in a couple of years ago for a refrigerator for my parents. I overheard the owner refusing responsibility for a washer that wouldnt work. It simply wasnt her problem. When she helped me she came off as rude and sadly racist. Asking questions she yelled at me. I walked out disgusted. So now I warn and tell everyone do not go there. I can recommend other places with HONEST owners. Dont waste your time with these ladies. Do not support this business.Funny how your response was changed. Now you say your just HUMAN? No maam I am not buying it. Even after all this time I make sure to tell people about the experience here and how you should not be supported. The truth hurts!! Swallow it and shape up.
Kristens knowledge about appliances is remarkable. She is honest about what she sells, whether it is her services as an appliance technician or the appliance itself. There is a reason why she has been in business since 1988 and have won many awards. Kristen will always be the one that I call for any appliance service call or to replace an old appliance. My advice is simple; go to the best and dont waste your time or money elsewhere when dealing with appliance headaches.`
Never buy anything from this place. The owner is rude as hell, and they sell Frankenstein appliances. First washer I bought, I had to return in first 30 days. The washer she replaced it with also started leaking and grinding within the first 3 months.
I have purchased used appliances from this business several times over the last 15 years and recently a new Speed Queen washer. I have always found them knowledgeable, reliable and helpful. The appliances I bought worked well and best of all I was able to find something affordable at times in my life when I could not afford to buy something new. The owner knows her stuff and I completely trust her recommendations and knowledge. So nice to have a local, small business like this.
Always a pleasure visiting a wonderful independently owned business in Hays County. My family has shopped here for many years, purchasing appliances or parts for a repair. I always get fantastic service with a friendly conversation and they have even assisted me in diagnosing my problem to help me get the right parts . The owner went way beyond her call of duty many years ago to help me to install my part (by phone) when she knew I couldnt afford to hire out the repair. She won my business right then. I highly recommend Guaranteed Appliances to you for a quality used appliance.
I needed a washer and dryer. I found a rebuilt stacked model, just what I needed for one person at a reasonable price. The people there were very nice and helpful. They also carry new appliances too with three to five year warranties. I didnt look at much more than W/D, but I did notice a number of refrigerator units around. Im sure some had to be freezers.
I am totally biased. Kristen is my mom. She installed all the appliances in my house straight from the store floor, all used. Everything has worked for three years now.I help her out sometimes. I have since I was a toddler.So I know things.She would tell me: I donβt want to get out there for a dryer not heating just to flip their breaker. Get them to check it before you send me out there and cost them money.When I go out to the shop these days, itβs still the same.She likes fixing problems by fixing appliances. She likes fixing problems by selling appliances.One of the first things I learned when I was ten and the business phone was in our house was how to trouble-shoot peopleβs appliance problems and help them fix it over the phone for free if we could.Screening out unnecessary service calls, like stuff you can fix yourself or stuff that canβt be fixed at all, was part of the deal. Paying her to go out there just to tell them so feels like a wasted day to her. Money doesnβt make her feel better.So, Iβd routinely talk customers out of service calls.βIt was just a flipped breaker mom. The dryer is heating now.βThatβs what she liked to hear.That was a close call.Sheβd feel like weβd helped.Case closed.If she got out there and it was just a flipped breaker or something she wouldnβt feel like sheβd made a difference. She likes making a difference.Nothing has changed since I was a kid.Except one thing. She discovered Speed Queen.She thinks they make her obsolete. Which is fine with her.
The came and charged $650 dollars and left with the all problems still unresolved. The one they did fix came back within 30 days. They said they had no idea how to resolve the issue. They recommended someone else to call and refused to refund all the charges. The person they recommended said no one will touch this now. I am pursuing further action. BUYER BE AWARE
I encountered very poor customer service! I called to see if I could get a dryer delivered to my home today and the woman who answered was too busy being a chatty kathy with a co-worker about some guy. Left me on the line waiting patiently for way too long! Maybe I just called during a bad time but either way I will definitely be taking my business elsewhere!
We ordered a dryer part thru Amazon, which cancelled for some reason. I now believe the reason for it was to have face to face contact with people who knew what we were dealing with and who actually told us what the issue could be. The ladies at Guaranteed Appliances were amazing. My son and I left with knowledge that we could not have received thru mail order service. We had our dryer back in 1 day instead of a week and some days.
The appliance angel is beyond amazing. I will admit, the woman owned/operated is what brought me to Garanteed and I do not regret that decision. Not only were the prices very reasonable, she took her time with me during purchase, delivery and installation! Thank you, Kristen!
Donβt trust this woman, she promised to pick up all my used appliances if I paid full price for her used ones. She brought my a badly dented fridge. When they sent a picture they told me it only had two small dings, when they brought it out it had twelve dents. Said I could come down and choose another but their would be a second delivery charge. Then she sent a truck that could only take two of the five appliances I had. Of course the best two. They said the would call me with an offer after they were checked out. They were supposed to come out with a check for the five. You can not trust this company, find someone else to buy used appliances from. I sure will!!
Be careful buying speed queen. Found out after spending A LOT of money for a washer the guarantee is only good if the technician finds something wrong with the machine- you pay for a service call if nothing is found. Have had several strange things with our brand new expensive washer but afraid to have tech come out and pay for a service call. Will not buy again-next time Whirlpool at Lowes.
Owner is EXTREMELY rude. Services are overpriced. I brought my machine in to be serviced, and ended up with a broken dryer. I DO NOT recommend this place at all.
This place isnt Best Buy people....give them a break. Your driving out there to get a used appliance. Why? Because your trying to save money!! You get what you get. They are friendly and affordable. If you want an appliance and are ok with used ...this is the place!

Not only did I have to replace one washer with these folks but the replacement stopped working for me as well. The lady was very rude over the phone and very argumentative. I am a business owner myself and I would never treat or talk to my customers the way she spoke to me. She accused me of yelling when, in fact, she was the one yelling at me and hung up the phone. I will never do business with them again and I recommend nobody else does either.
The service per hour fee is a little high but they dont play around when they r servicing your appliances, they r fast and its done right,they dont run up a high bill. If u need a appliance their fair on prices for used ones and if u need parts they usually have them in stock, Ive never had any problems with them.
We have bought several items here and always always had fair priices, been treated well and never had a problem with equipment. We always bring our repairs here as well for appliances we did not buy from them

I worked at Guaranteed Appliance twenty years ago. And I still get my appliances there. Next will be a Speed Queen cuz times have changed for me.I worked my ass off at Guaranteed Appliance. Meeting Kristens high expectations. Meeting Kristens idea of quality standards is not for the faint of heart.Clean that seal better.Get that stickiness off the gasket or it will subtly stick every time the fridge in opened. That will break the gasket and then a family will be out of a fridge next summer. Cant have that. Do it right.Nope you cant move that fridge till I test it. It hasnt been a week for that one yet, and I havent checked the temperature.Dont even think about unplugging it. Ill have to start the week over if you do. Move that fridge over there...Moves heavy side-by-side fridge all the way across the shop to the waiting area.Yes, I do have to change out every belt on every washer before we sell it, weather it needs it or not. Its the belts that go out first, so changing them all out every time, just makes sense.Yes, we just do it. So its a used washer, but the belts are new so it can last for years and years without breaking down. The belt is the weak link, so we change them all out every time.It takes a lot of work and know-how and master appliance technician skills, to transform used machines into good deals for happy people.Kristen has been doing it really well, with few less than stellar results since she was a teenager.Even big manufactures have problems. Sometimes everything doesnt go perfect. It usually does though. Even big dealerships have problems satisfying customers.Kristen juggles way more x factors and manages to keep lots of families who cant always afford new in clean clothes, with fresh food in the fridge and a stove to cook it on.Her service is invaluable to the community.I watched her consistently be honest, fair and even free when she saw urgent need and being who she is required it.She is out to serve more than to make a buck, no matter what some of these reviews say.I still get appliances from Guaranteed Appliance. I trust her advice. She helped me fix stuff over the phone for free, like just flip the breaker back and your dryer will probably start heating again and save yourself a service fee, for me to do that for you. She helps all her customers and family the same way.Or, Do you happen to have tin foil lining the bottom of your oven under the heating element?Uh, yeah.Just get rid of that.Erratic oven temperature problems solved.Ive heard her on thousands of calls where she just helps people. Sometimes she can get a bit frustrated with mare mortals who wont clean their dryer vents and so risk catching their homes on fire while wondering why their dryer went out so soon. She is the Appliance Angel after all.I give Guaranteed Appliance 10 out of 5 stars.She is my aunt. We just walked in this place a few minutes ago with a pocket full of money, ready to buy a washing machine and dryer set. First impression is its in the middle of nowhere in somebodys old barn or garage. Next, I noticed that the prices were higher than expected and questioned a salesman (I use that term lightly) why are these used appliances so expensive? He replied with we rebuild them all. I asked if each appliance came with a list of work performed and a list of parts replaced...he suddenly became busy and walked away. Common sense tells me if its not broken, then it doesnt get fixed. I honesty dont understand how this place received any awards from the newspaper unless it was purchased....Avoid this place, they seem very sketchy!!!
They are affordable, they delivered fast, and the owners were very helpful. And oh yeah the delivery guy is hot!!!!

Nothing guaranteed about it. It is a scam. Appliances fail shortly after warranty expires. Then they want to charge you to repair it and it costs more than what the original purchase was. Also, not easy to work with, and owner comes across as inconvenienced. No one likes feeling that way. Dont recommend doing business with these people. Extremely disappointed!
