Where do I began ? Jason Castro has been my personal car sales man for at least 3-5 years or more . As a big family of 7. Myself, daughter and husband have purchased a Honda from Jason . He treats us like family. He has gone above and beyond service when we can’t get in our vehicles for service at times . When I wanted a silver Honda he looked one for me online . This is my 3rd Honda from Jason . At times when I’m getting my car service he will make an effort to say hi or simply just a how are you doing ? This goes along way for a reoccurring customer. Anytime someone wants a car I highly highly recommend Jason Castro .

Although I live in Universal City, Texas, I rely on Honda of San Marcos for my auto needs including maintenance. Ive been using this dealership since 2004 (before they became Honda of San Marcos) and have found the individuals there professional, reputable, and caring. As an older single woman, I can trust them to deal fairly with me especially when it comes to maintenance.Ive purchased my last two Honda CR-Vs from Don Radar Roeder who provided exceptional service especially with my last purchase. My 2015 CR-V was a total loss in a house fire and Don secured a 2021 CR-V. Because of my circumstances we did all the preliminaries by phone. He truly went above and beyond to ensure I could buy the one remaining CR-V available in their inventory.

One of the best experiences when purchasing a new vehicle, even through this COVID pandemic. Tyler Brewer was very responsive, friendly, and professional. Tyler immediately responded to every question via my phone calls. To put the icing on the cake, he was able to appraise my vehicle for a trade-in before we arrived to purchase our new CRV EX-L. I went to 4 different dealerships looking for a CR-V or a Subaru Forester and as soon as I walked into Honda San Marcos I was sold. Jason was very transparent about the process, and everyone at the entire dealership was helpful, friendly and NOT pushy which I appreciated so much. I got a great deal in comparison and the service department Jason set me up with at the dealership was also awesome. Ive been back twice since purchasing car for routine oil changes and Jason remembers me by name, and so do the others at the service department. Cant say enough about my experience buying a car. Something that is usually stressful became enjoyable. Also, LOVE the Honda CR-V. Highly recommend to those looking for a crossover.

Purchased a used Ram 2500 diesel from Jason Castro for $72K. I was told the truck had been check out by their mechanic and the oil change. Shortly after I got home I realize the replace fuel filter light was on. I live over an hour away from the dealership and was on my way out of town so I took the truck to a Ram dealer to have the fuel filters and placed at a cost of almost $400. I called Jason to get reimbursed and they refused to reimburse me the full amount only $250. They said I should’ve brought it to them to have the work done. Then I was told their mechanic said the truck didn’t need fuel filters even though the truck indicates on the dash it needs fuel filters. They expect me to spend two hours of my time driving to them when they supposedly check the truck out seriously? Also I seriously doubt that a Honda dealership would have Ram truck parts so I would’ve had to wait longer. Another issue I found what is the air filter was clogged with bugs in debris that their mechanic supposedly checked out. Lastly when they mail me my license plates after confirming my address they mailed them to the wrong address which I then had to go pick up from the person that had my plates. I would strongly suggest one buying a used vehicle for them to check everything out which you shouldn’t have to do. Therefore I would not recommend buying a used vehicle from them.

I would give more than 5 stars if I could. I needed a timing belt and tensioner replacement and these guys quoted me hundreds of dollars cheaper than other shops and even gave me a coupon I didn’t know about. They did the whole job from 7:30 am to 5 pm. That’s right, one business day and I had my car back. And to top it all off the customer service rep responsible for updating me ended up being the sweetest lady I’ve ever met. Big shout out to Ellie for making my day and thanks to Honda for being honest and legit. You don’t say this kind of stuff about dealerships very often anymore.

If youre shopping for a Honda anywhere in south-central side of Texas, I would highly recommend making the trip down to this dealership. I was originally planning on getting a car from a local Austin Honda dealership, but found that the sales reps were kind of lousy in comparison to the San Marcos location. The sales rep Matt Wood was extremely knowledgeable and answered any precise question I had with the car I was interested in. He was also great for keeping me in contact and reaching an eventual negotiation.5/5 would recommend to family and friendsAs a quick addition to the end of the review, I would also like to mention that out of all the dealerships I went to, the San Marcos location had the best warranties for drivetrain that I was able to find anywhere else.

I brought my 2019 Honda Ridgeline (17k miles) in for routine service and to discuss several issues that were occurring that I felt should be covered by warranty. It would appear that this dealer and Honda corporate do not stand behind the product they are selling. They refused to cover a repeat issue that was occurring with the plastic on my side mirror melting and stated that it was due to outside influences (ie. operating/parking a new vehicle under the sun). I park in a garage 90% of the time and take care of my vehicle. After they denied the warranty claim, they had the audacity to state in their documentation that the mirror needed immediate attention due to it failing. Just to recap: my side mirror is melting on a truck under warranty, the dealer and Honda corporate are refusing to cover the part under warranty, and they fully acknowledge that the part is being damaged by normal operating conditions and needs immediate attention. To say that I am disappointed in this dealership is an understatement.

So he request his money back. He gave the information. He call back today 5/12/21 they said for him to send a receipt?. What?.Larry Reeves. Claim to be manager and in the website appears as sales consultant.Tyler Brewer was the other sales consultant. I really hope they respond soon. Before we go legally. Dont trust ..

Just like every other dealership when it comes to customer service, horrible. Bought my honda about a year ago, but was only given one key. I was told they had to look for the other one, never got an update and when I called back they said they couldnt find it and told me I needed to request a copy through the warranty I got. Its been 3 months and still havent received anything. No update and when I call and ask I get many different answers. Last time I will ever purchase a vehicle from this place

I bought a 2015 Toyota Tacoma from Alex and Larry, at Honda of San Marcos, about two weeks ago and it has been one of the best car buying decisions I have ever made. The vehicle is flawless, and Ive already put 3k miles on it, having taken it to California on a road trip to Santa Cruz. This truck has been through the forests of sequoia, and the deserts of Tuscon, all without any mechanical trouble. I am skeptical of dealerships, just like many potential buyers, but Honda of San Marcos made the purchase relatively painless. Just know that you need to negotiate and understand that you can walk away anytime, there will be another car for you out there. Many people prefer carmax or carvana, where the price is set, but I would argue that if you do your research, and understand the value of the car you would like to purchase, buying from a dealership can be a win-win, and you can learn a valuable lesson on negotiating, which can be used the next time you interview for a job, or ask for a raise. Finally, for my piece of mind, the folks at Honda of San Marcos let me take the truck to my mechanic for an inspection before the sale was final. You should insist on this if buying a used car, no matter where you purchase the vehicle.

Zero stars for Honda! 2020 Honda CRV, within a month of getting it already had a right fender missing three screws. I was charged to replace it. Now, a month after getting it replaced, the same fender already has another screw missing and it is coming apart.... anyone else have this ridiculous issue? You pay 30K for a car with plastic at the bottom, the least it could do is actually stay together........ this is my first Honda experience and it’s beyond disappointing.

I went here without even planning after I had a bad experience in a Toyota dealer. The first time I didnt get the deal I was hoping but I called back and they were willing to negotiate. Damian was a gold key for me to go back to the dealer pretty awesome guy and respect all the time even when they did not agree. Yes, this dealer have a bit higher prices compared with other honda dealer but this is when you need to learn to negotiate. There costumer service was beyond good. My next Honda Il buy here of course if the price is good.

Purchased a used car and all 3 visits we were rushed to the point of almost not buying from this facility. They even called us to see if we were on our way to sign papers. It was a holiday weekend, I will give them that, however, we had already given them the down payment in cash. We were also finalizing the purchase with cash. We were informed if we didnt get there within 15 minutes that they would close all if the gates and we would have to wait an additional 3 days to pick up our vehicle. Some people work until 5 pm and dont live around the corner. We were making a 40 mile one way Trip. We also went the second day to finalize paperwork and pick up our carWe had been asked to fax my daughters insurance and drivers license for the paperwork. So, when we made the 80 mile round trip and told she had to be there, we were flabbergasted. How difficult would it have been t let us know ahead of time? The only reason they wanted her information was so they could speed the paperwork. So....we made yet another trip to the dealership on Thanksgiving Eve. When we arrived they started trying to make us sign paperwork without explanations or the ability to go over the legal work without reading the fine print. I do not recommend this dealership and will not be returning, even though we are in the market for another NEW VEHICLE THIS TIME, WITHIN THE NEXT MONTH.I would like to add to this review. We had to call Honda because we NEVER received our car tags. Our temporary license was expiring the next day. We finally reached them and we received the tag with the WRONG NAME. It said Mark Elizabeth. We contacted them again and they over-nighted a new license and will change the name. We received another temporary license until the problem is fixed. This is what I was trying to express in the above comments. We were so rushed, they couldnt get the information right. We love the car so far, but it has been a whole lot of screw ups and problems (a nightmare) with the dealer and actual salesman. Please let me know if this review is helpful.

Automatic payment was taken out of our bank acct after Honda had purchase my car. I was told that they would handle getting my money back after everything was sent to lender. No thonda tells me that the lender is suppose to send me a check and lender is telling me that Honda San Marcos is suppose to issue me my refund.

Honda of San Marcos is the best! We picked up a gently used Nissan Ultima for my daughter and our salesman, Jason was great to deal with. He worked with us on the price and made sure we were happy with our purchase, no pressure sales and a great quick transaction. In addition, they took care of an alignment issue we had with the vehicle about a 2 weeks after our purchase. Brough it back it for a quick alignment and we were on our way back to Austin less than hour later. Thank you Jason and your team for taking care of us, we really appreciate it! I had a pretty nice experience. This was my first car in over 15 years, and my very first NEW car, so I had been doing the research for a few months. Since I live in Austin, I was considering Howdy Honda, but a good friend of mine, who gets all his vehicles through Honda of San Marcos, suggested I go here because of the lifetime powertrain warranty standard with all vehicle purchases on top of the all other warranties. So, I did. I went in knowing what I wanted, 2016 Civic Sedan, and I dealt with Dace Downs. My friend had already called ahead, so my car was ready to go. However, just before walking in, I saw the LX-P, and I was in love... Dace had to redo the paperwork, and it took several hours to get everything done. I was able to drive off the lot with the car I wanted, a reasonable price, and a smile on my face. Overall, it was a good experience.

My husband and I have brought 2 vehicles from Honda in San Marcos in the last 8 months. Buying a vehicle and dealing with sales people, has not been a good experience for me in the past. Eight months ago, we were introduced to Alex Lincoln, sales consultant. He has change my bad experiences into a wonderful, stress free experience. Talking with Alex is like talking to a long time friend. He cares about you as a person and not just a customer. Great Customer Service! Amazing place to interact with in buying a new car!I was looking for a rare specific type of car, Honda Fit Sport in a manual transmission.After talking with the Internet manager, David Cook, about the specific car I wanted, he got straight to work in making it happen. There were only TWO of the specific model I was looking for in the state and TWO more in neighboring states. Mr.Cook was able to pull some strings and get me the car I wanted; not an easy feat with it being a scarce model.In the end I was able to stay within my budget even after transferring the car from across the state and was able to get a free lifetime powertrain warranty. I would recommend anyone in the market for a new car to reach out to Mr. Cook and let him make your dreams a reality.
