We just finished a kitchen remodel. Our kitchen desiger, Sandra Tierney, recommended Steve at Rock-It for counter tops. Steve was very helpful in chosing our counters. We chose Monte Blanc Marble Satin which is absolutely gorgeous. The team from Rock-it came out to create a template and take measurements. About one week later they came back for the installation. The seams are almost invisible and the finished counters are just the icing on the complete kitchen. We would definitely recommend Rock-It.

Great experience from start to finish. Final product is amazing! Kept us informed throughout the process. From demo to installation was only a week so that was great. They do their own manufacturing right in San Marcos. They took time to explain everything about different materials at the store. Installation crew took their time to do a good job and cleaned up well. Very happy!

Just completed the 5th install from Rock-It; 3 of those in my own home. As expected, everything is pretty much perfect.Computerized measurements, CNC cutting and a photo preview of *your actual piece of stone* all contribute to an exceptional result.Steven and Richard always take care of me with fair pricing and turnaround time. I dont even bother calling anyone else for my countertop needs any more and refer others to them all the time.

In the midst of a busy home renovation, we were looking for a company with quality stones and quick installation time frames. We found it with Rock-It!We wanted a satin-finish and something unique, and we found several options in their show yard. We chose a dolomite surface and Rock it measured, fabricated, and installed it within weeks. Lead times with other companies were well over a month. For their timeliness alone, I would give Rock-It 5 stars, but the craftsmanship has me wishing there was a higher rating!

I sent my son and his wife there for white Quartz Countertops. I have done 3 kitchens live far away and found them on Google search. Steve the owner quoted my son $9000 with install when he visited the granite yard . My son said can you work with me on the price and Steve said I m sorry the margins are not there .. lol. My son found the identical Quartz installed for $5500 not one but several places for similar price . As a father I was angry that he would gouge my son so I called there and he hung up. I never post reviews but this is so egregious and over the top plain greed I want people to know who they are . Be Leary very Leary of their business practices and shop your quote .

I was super excited to find this company, but when I called them they said my project was too small for them and they weren’t interested. Even though longer term I definitely want to do more and have bigger projects.

This is the first slab yard I’ve been to where I truly felt well informed. Steven knows his stuff and he humbly educates you during the process. He has the BEST selection and variety of quartzite I’ve seen so far. Bring in your drawings and he will tell you how many sq ft you need—you’ll know what your spending straight away and the price INCLUDES fabrication and installation. The customer service was outstanding—so happy I found this place!

Steve and the entire crew were professional, upfront about their products, courteous, and prompt from start to finish during our kitchen renovation. From the start, Steve gives you a pricing guide and lets you check out all the stone slabs in the yard, no pressure, the pricing sheet tells you the cost. Then, If you have some basic measurements, Steve will put together a rough schematic that tells you how much stone you will need to complete the project. All this in about half an hour! Steve does not mess around! The entire installation crew was outstanding and knowledgeable and everything was fabricated to perfection. Steve helped us pick a Fantasy Brown Marble slab for our project. The new counter top is the focal point of the kitchen and we were really pleased with the look as it exceeded our expectations! I was very satisfied with the granite installation. I liked the high tech approach when measuring and cutting the granite. From beginning to end this family owned business takes pride in their work. Steve in the office was extremely helpful not only on our counter top choice but on which sink would fit best and colors for back splash. They came to measure and the preciseness and triple checks were amazing. They also picked up we needed to add more support to our island for the quartzite. The installation took three men over three hours and it was perfect. They cleaned up after themselves, shined the quartzite and gave me tips on how to care for it. Our neighbor had used Rock-It Surfaces and were very pleased so we visited their showroom and were very happy with the wide selection of slabs. Steve had us go out and walk through all of the slabs and then we met with him in his office with our measurements and he gave us pricing. After setting up appointment for in home measuring we made one more trip to showroom to make sure of our choice. We also purchased our sink from Rock-It and it looks beautiful with our choice of granite. Their installers were timely, professional and very knowledgeable about their product and the installation. Our experience with the Rock It was great!They delivered everything that they had promised.Their state of the art technology of measuring and fabricating the stone was impressive. The end result of our counter top which was a special kind of marble with satin finish (Fantasy Brown) truly came out immaculate and flawless! We did a waterfall on one side and the book mark technique make the patterns look just beautiful! I wish I could post a picture of it.We are so glad we found out about this place and chose it despite having several other choices.

They fabricated and installed my granite kitchen counters. Very dissatisfied! They must have used a worn out saw blade, the seam edges are rough and dirt collects where the two sides meet. This is in the middle of my breakfast bar and visible to everyone. The one side of the seam is lifting again (2nd time) . They repaired it once already and broke my dishwasher water line. Consequently, my toe kick wood and kitchen flooring had to be replaced. My adjoining family room carpet was soaked. Had to have carpet lifted and listened to water removal fans for 3 days. I would never use or recommend them.

We searched several weeks for the right granite that suited not only what fit our kitchen, but also our vision. Upon entering Rock-It, we both saw what we were looking for and could not seem to find elsewhere. The staff were not only professional, but helpful and friendly. Rock-It Surfaces was the second place I went for an estimate. I liked that I could get an estimate on the spot with just my rough measurements. Pricing was straightforward and was provided with a list of the various options by different price ranges so could quickly narrow my search by my $ budget. Steve & his team are very knowledgeable & informative and I could tell they know their stuff. They easily beat their competition with these things and made it easy to decide to go with them. From the time I decided on my selection and was ready to proceed, I was able to get the onsite measure within a few days and my new countertops within about a week. Install team did a great job & were professional. Id recommend this company as a first stop & wouldnt hesitate to do business with them again in the future.

The most professional contractor weve ever worked with.(1) They have a great website that shows and explains every step of the selection, measuring, manufacturing, and installation process, including educational videos.(2) The owner, Steven Nenzel was very helpful in the design process by explaining advantages and disadvantages of various stone, colors, and prices.(3) Steven gave us a printout for our job that listed both the details and total cost of the project for each different type of stone. That allowed us to make apples to apples comparisons, all without worrying about hidden charges later in the process.(4) After we made our decision on a honed Marble Quartzite, Randy came out to or home and used a state-of-the-art measurement system that created a precisely detailed database of our kitchen layout, including variations in the walls.(5) The next amazing step was receiving an email that included two photographs showing how the slabs that we selected would be cut and put together for the finished counter top. This allowed us to select which patterning we preferred. As the slabs of marble we had selected had large veins running through them, how the veins were placed was very important.For the 21 long counter with the waterfall, they created two book-matches for the top and also book-matched the waterfall to the top. We selected the design that highlighted the largest veins book-matching in the most open area of the counter top. We then sent our selection back via email.(6) A week after measuring, the installation team arrived and did a perfect job of setting the counter tops. The use of their computer generated measuring system at manufacturing made everything fit precisely. During installation, they also sealed the counter tops to the cabinets with caulk which was nice.We could not be happier with the results of our interactions with Rock It Surfaces. The counter tops are gorgeous and their installation was perfect. Every time we walk into the kitchen and see the 21 long counter top transition into the waterfall on the end with a perfect book-matched corner, we realize how fortunate we were to have selected a great company to do the job - Thanks Steven

Sometimes being a women who knows nothing about a product can lead to trouble but both Richard and Steven treated me well and spent all the time needed to educate me and guide us into making the right choice of counter top for what we needed. The whole experience was top notch and professional. The installers were great too - professional and clean and did a perfect job installing 2 -12 foot and 1- six foot sections of granite. And it looks amazing! I am so in love with how it looks. Makes me smile every day!

Rocket-It recently did our kitchen. New granite and they did the marble tile back splash. I can not say enough GOOD about our experience with Rock-It. We spent a lot of time looking at stone and fabricators (more than a year) Their was no other choice in my mind. Rock-It has the highest tech equipment available which ensures your slabs will match and fit. All five axis sawing and machining equipment imported for Italy.We made a BUNCH of changes mid project on the tile installation. They accommodated our every wish. This is a BIG deal.We happened to find our granite on their lot, they stock extra thick slabs so when they do your jobs they dont have to laminate them to make the edges. Real high class granite.Stop in and take to Steve, you wont regret it !!!

Count us as 2 more completely satisfied customers. We were doing a kitchen and two baths. First visit was professional and educational with Steve spending lots of time answering our questions and giving pros AND cons on different products. We liked the fact that fabricating is all done by them. Gave us printed prices for all products on display and sent us out to yard to take all the time we needed to see what was available. Gave us samples to take home. After looking at several other companies there was no doubt in out minds this was the place we would do business with. We returned to finalize our order and set times for measuring, installation, etc. There was never any attempt to up-sell or add additional costs, etc. Really love the fact that they lay out your design and send pics for final approval. They caught a small glitch during that process and called to inform us immediately. They could just as easily have gone ahead with process and we would never have known and been satisfied with outcome, but that choice to notify and correct it made the difference in turing our final look that we were okay with into a finished look we absolutely love. And it only reinforced our knowing we had made the rightr choice in choosing this company. They also did our tile back splash and we are equally pleased with it. Following kitchen completion they returned 2 months later for bathroom installation. This time in baths there was an error on our part re: sinks, and again, they came to rescue with a solution that saved us time and money. We recommend Rock-It without hesitation or reservation.

We used Rock-It Surfaces to install new Fantasy Brown Marble kitchen countertops. From visiting the showroom to interacting with the installation crew, Rock-It Surfaces was terrific. We had previously visited several other granite sites and found the level of customer service lacking. Steve clearly answered all of our questions and provided a detailed estimate for us to consider. I like 3cm (cm = centimeter ) countertop vs 2cm which does not require edges.Called them on the phone talked to Steve, He gave me a quote based on my sketch and measurement and type of countertop.Richard came to my house and made an accurate measurement, in a few days my countertop was ready.Path and Richards installed it professionally and accuracy.This is the best place to buy countertop and get it installed professionally,Highly recommended .

My kitchen looks fantastic! I cant believe its my own kitchen. I am particularly grateful for all the contractors, from demo, granite install, and backsplash install that were done with careful notice to detail.

Excellent quality concious folks. Few hiccups, but later on that. They have all the right tools to do the job correctly and highly skilled workers. Everybody were very courteous, responsive, answers questions very patiently and support through the complete installation process. They dont pressure at all, I took my design dimensions to them and tried various options like 4-5 times and got quote for what the installation would actually cost. I think this is how all genuine contractors should be if they are confident of their quality and price competitiveness. They have good selection of stones and sometimes let search on their stone supplier website. We picked stone from their yard. They finished the installation on time except for recutting the stone that they said couldnt install because it had a fissure.One thing I regret is choosing a small sink in kids bath room. Its too small, should have just gone with larger rectangle sink that we got in Master bath. Also make sure to look through the dimensions when they send photo to approve. This is your last chance to confirm and request any change. I didnt look at the dimensions carefully, the bar top was smaller by around 3/4 inch on 2 sides and after install it visibly looked smaller than the counter top it replaced.When you pick the stone from remnants stock make sure to touch and see the stone, I picked the stone that looked good, but it was satin and I thought it was glossy, it was my mistake of not picking properly.One bad thing happened is, Steven recommended Stanislaw Ziolkowski for cabinet refinishing, but I lost money to Stan Z, since he stopped responding to my and Stevens calls after I canceled his contract.

Steven and his team did a fabulous job on our granite project. He did our kitchen, and bathroom countertops. We selected leather finish granite in 2 baths. They are very precise in measuring and fabricating. The videos they have on their website are very helpful. Advantage to 3cm granite counters is the no need for plywood underlayment which can swell when wet, also the seamless integrated front detailed edge with no silly glued or seamed bullnose. You get more granite for the money with 3cm slabs! We are very happy and highly recommend them!

Ive been looking to redo my kitchen countertops for a while now. I went to seven or eight different granite shops throughout San Diego county to see what was available. (I like to shop around because when Im looking at spending a nice chunk of change, I want to get my moneys worth.)After doing some research, I decided I wanted a 3CM slab. The reasons for me were simple: its stronger and thats one less unsightly seam for me to look at. Aside from Rock-It, I found few places offering 3CM.For this reason, I went to Rock-It up in San Marcos. Upon meeting Steven, he was polite and helpful. I gave him the measurements from my counter and he drew up an estimate for me. The prices were competitive figuring I was getting a 3CM slab.I fell in love with a Golden Taupe slab and Steven made sure there was enough to complete my kitchen. What was really helpful was that I received emails from Richard prior to fabrication that detailed exact measurements and the counter template. They didnt move forward with anything without getting my approval and consent. I liked having everything put up front so there wouldnt be any surprises down the road.I set up the demo and measurements on a Tuesday and Stevens crew were at my place on Saturday to install the counters (not bad turnaround time). . The process was streamlined and simple.Stevens crew was considerate and professional. They laid out moving mats on my floor (which is nice since I have cream colored carpet). They also did a good job vacuuming and cleaning up the mess.The result: I love my new kitchen! I cant tell you how much difference a nice granite countertop makes in your kitchen. Its night and day! I spend alot of time in my kitchen so this is really important to me (not to mention raising your property value).Overall, Im very satisfied with Rock-It. Steven was upfront and honest with me. His crew did good work. Ill definitely come back to this place for any future granite jobs.
