This review is specifically regarding my sales associate, Cory, here at Sonnen. I went in with my husband on the Sunday of Memorial Day weekend 2019 (I know, this review is late, but better late than never?). What made Cory so spectacular was that (a) he was incredibly patient when I wanted to see pretty much every color combination of a certain model of vehicle, and most important (b) HE TALKED TO ME, NOT MY HUSBAND. Why is this in caps? I have had terrible experiences with car salesmen always directing conversation to my husband instead of me. This purchase was mine, not my husbands, and I was making the decisions. Cory didnt assume I was incapable of making my own decisions, didnt assume I needed my husband to help me finance the vehicle, and worked with me directly even though my husband was there. It was so refreshing, and he was a pleasure to work with. So ladies, if you want to be treated with respect? You wont be disappointed in Cory.

We were looking for a used car, and found what we wanted on the web. I contacted Sonnen Volkswagen, and Lou Corbin replied. We negotiated a good price before we came in. When we got there, Lou treated us like family. He showed us the car and let us take a test drive. It was very well detailed, and in better condition than the Certified cars we had previously looked at. Then he invited us back to the office for refreshments. He reiterated the same price we had agreed upon, and then showed us what he would give us for our trade-in, which was better than we expected. We agreed to the purchase, and then the paperwork began. Lou went to fill up the tank and do final preparations while the paperwork was readied. We were then ushered over to a nice guy who walked us through the signing process. Everything went so smoothly, we would definitely buy another car from Lou and Sonnen Motors!

Mo has been great. He is not your typical used car salesman; he is very laid back and respects that you want to look at the car and talk about it with your spouse. The dealership is great and matched the price on a vehicle closer to us. This has been such a good used car buying experience.

We got treated by Lou, the sales person. He was with us for three hours, showing us every car we were interested in. Going with us for a test drive twice. We finally got a wonderful car with a great deal. Highly Recommended!

Fair price without having to haggle, courteous and respectful treatment by sales and management staff, great coverage for certified used vehicle. Best place to mooch free coffee and treats, park on the street walk in and set up your computer in the lounge, dont give them your email address or they will be frequently contacting you.

Recently purchased an A6 but accidentally threw away the wheel lock key. Alex in the sales department made an appointment in service to remove the wheel nuts without the required wheel lock key.Replacements were offered at no cost.Outstanding service after purchase.

I just got the car I wanted sold in front of me at Roseville BMW so I contacted Sonnen, and I drove all the way from Sacramento just to test drive and potentially purchase the car. Patrick Heissenbuttel was the salesman I worked with. My experience was amazing. He had all the information I wanted when I asked about the car from pictures, previous owners, and just little tips when buying a car. Everything about that experience was quick and simple. Something small that made me feel even more ecstatic about their services was while waiting for the finance guys to get back Patrick offered to go on another test drive just to have a fun way to spend the time instead of sitting bored. In the end It was an amazing service and I thank you again for your service I appreciate you guys not wasting my time. For those who read on and care it took me about 1.5-2 hours to get the car I wanted.

The last time I bought a car was almost 20 years ago. After I ran my trusty CR-V to the ground, 200K++ miles, I reluctantly shopped for a replacement. Enter Cory Besenty at Sonnen VW. Cory made the whole process so easy and stress-free. Selling anything is tough, and buying a car is also excruciating if you’re really not into cars (like me). So I have to give it to Cory, whose true love for cars, and genuine and kind personality, made this a pleasant experience. He even surprised me by throwing in original Honda fit mats and another car part that were missing! So if you’re looking for a car, go Sonnen VW and look specifically for Cory, the tall guy with the Ray-Bans. You cant go wrong.

Keep your guard up in the finance office. The sales staff, while friendly and professional, will try all the tricks to get you to sign a contract (including wanting a signed contract just to transfer a car from another in network dealership). The finance manager literally tried the yoyo scam on me. I came in and purchased a brand new Golf using a loan secured beforehand through my bank. Three weeks later I receive a frantic call from Sonnen VW claiming my bank is refusing to fund the loan, and Sonnen wants me to come in and sign a new contract with their preferred lender for nearly 4x the interest rate of the original agreement. After calling my bank I find out that Sonnen failed to submit the sale paperwork for nearly two weeks resulting in a rejection by the banks system (they require the paperwork within a week). I immediately called Sonnen to tell them of my findings and demand they honor the original contract and work whatever necessary details out with the bank, or to come and get the car and expect a lawsuit for breach of contract. Needless to say everything was sorted out within a few hours after a few more conversations with my bank. I will never do business with this shady business ever again.PS. Never received my VW customer satisfaction survey either ... shocking I know.

Horrible. Drove the brand new car off the lot with a suspension creaking noise. Went to the dealership 3 times without the issue being fixed. On the 3rd time was told that I was a bad driver and it was break dust (even though noise persisted when car isnt even breaking!). Gabriel (service employee) was rude, condescending, and arrogant. I finally had to pay money out of pocket to get the issue fixed by a private mechanic. I will be filing a complaint with VW Corporate. Absolutely unbelievable.

Went in to see if my 2016 Tiguan’s hitch wiring was active, was told all they had to do was flash it for the wiring system to be activated. After two hours of dealing with a very obnoxious sales rep who was not listening to my needs I left with them lying about having to take my car apart to see if my car was equipped with a module for the wiring. The mechanic told the sales rep in front of us that all he had to do was plug in a little part to the wiring and it will show him if it has a power source. I can’t remember the bald dude with glasses name but he is EXTRA and wasted a lot of time I didn’t have. While we waited there was a nice sitting area right in front of the uppity black dudes desk who thought it would be best not to speak but act like he was somebody-higher than. Everyone else spoke and was very nice to yes the only black people in the building. Lovely store.

If I could give zero starts I would. In my 30+ years of buying cars I have never had a more incompetent sales person. I felt like I was dealing with a 3 year old kid. Every single question I had was answered with a self serving question. Even when I asked about a specific piece of inventory and special lease program she responded with questions and no answers.Dont waste your time here. Go to another dealer on the outskirts of Marin who will listen to you and accommodate your needs.

My experience with VW Sonnen has been a very positive one. My salesman Ozan aka Ozzy was one of the most professional salesmen I have dealt with in many years. He went above and beyond for me, even answering my calls and questions on off days and off hours. I am not an easy customer to please and yet Ozan handled my difficulties with a smile. Im very happy with VW Sonnen and they are lucky to have a sales rep like Ozan. The dealership was very clean, organized and the managers were all very helpful as well. If your looking to buy a VW, you wont go wrong at Sonnen, make sure you ask for Ozzy you wont regret dealing with him!

I couldnt find a live voice and the their telephone menu system wasnt allowing me to get through to someone, therefore, I drove to Sonnen.Parts department supposed to be open during their scheduled business hours, but know person was at the window (no way to call someone either). A salesman was kind enough to walk behind the door. Even then it took them extra 15 Mon before showing up.Problem #2: VW sent multiple reminder that a Takata airbag system needs some replacement. But Sonnens shop is not setup yet to handle these Recall-Repairs. They will notify me at a later date, TBD.All the wasted time and effort.

I have had a VW Tiguan since 2010 and had it served at Sonnen the entire time. I have been very disappointed by their level of customer service. It seems to take three weeks to get a service appointment. I have called three or more times to just try to get someone to call me back.My issues began with a leak, somewhere, and I had to bring the car in three times for them to figure it out. They repaired it and replaced the carpet. The service work was excellent, but the service people seem like they would prefer to be elsewhere and their internal system of routing messages and answering phones needs improvement. Then my front light went out. Turns out I had several lights out and a blown fuse box. Again another two week wait for an appointment.Then a few weeks later the gas cap wouldnt open and I couldnt put gas in my car. Then it was another three week wait. I was so mad this morning that the trick they showed me open the gas lid wouldnt work that I drove over there and demanded they service my car now. I also asked asked the service person to have finance call me to renew my warranty and personally left two messages for finance - with never a call back.I also asked for the GM to call me. The only person who was pleasant and offered good customer service was the receptionist and the shuttle car driver, Roberto. Not only am I disappointed in the quality of the car, I would never want to be serviced by Sonnen again.

I can highly recommend their service department. The representative Donna Westlake who handled my car made sure that Im getting the best experience possible. She checked all the warranties that might apply and got me a loaner car while my vehicle was taken the best possible care of.Donna is very knowledgeable. Based on the symptoms I described she immediately had a good guess about the root cause of the problem which later proved to be spot on.Before I left, she also gave me an overview of the future scheduled maintenance dates and estimated costs so that nothing catches me by surprise.She was professional and friendly, I felt appreciated as a customer and perfectly taken care of.After some so-so and some ok experiences with other VW services, I can say that Ill use Sonnen Volkswagen Service for all future issues with my car.
