This Safeway is a bit further for me, but is 100% worth the extra time. Its always clean, tidy, and stocked. Employees are helpful and pleasant when you need assistance. Butcher is friendly and helpful. This location has fresher produce and better meat selection than the other one in the immediate area. Parking here is easier than the other one as well.

I was at the Floral Dept today and helped by the talented,Julia. What a wonderful experience. Julia made these flowers pop with her magical touch. She was quick too.Her bouquet was met with tears of joy! It was a dear friends 79th birthday! Thank you, Julia!! Safeway is lucky to have you!!

Their service sucks....I dont like this Safeway in Redhill shopping center. The cashiers are not very friendly and sometimes they dont know what their doing... Whats a difference from the Safeway in Moraga California... Their staff are friendly and courteous.

I just returned from Safeway. I got some deli sandwiches, and their signature potato salad. I just finished the salad, it was really good. I got 1/2 lb and ate it all, and wished I had more. I also got some other things to and treated myself to a dozen Roses. The flowers are always good, their bakery is great as well. Its like a Grocery store, a flower shop, deli and bakery all in one. The selection is overwhelming, but you will probably be happy with this store.

I love my local Safeway, they carry the majority of products seen throughout the US. Staff isnt always easy to find but they are always polite and helpful. I love buying flowers, fresh fruit and veggies. My only downside is I dont eat poultry and the majority of their frozen meals they carry are all chicken - I have to use other grocery stores for these finds.

Big and spacious store. They dont carry everything that I am used to buying so I had to compensate for that and buy something else. I also cant stand the parking lot its small its narrow and too easy to run into somebody else

Was on the road, needed something quick. Got two ham n turkey sandwiches. They were just like I ordered. The server made sure by repeating my order. In, out and back on the road to get ahead of the commute. Thanks.

I am compelled to address this by writing a review about an incident yesterday morning. I am a long-time customer and thought everyone who has worked here has always been very courteous until what I witnessed today. Nearby where I had been shopping, there was a man who said he was a lottery worker. He was about to enter the restroom and I happened to obtain her name, “Laterica Raymes” a clerk told me, that she was a front area manager. Well, Ms. Raymes blocked the door in an aggressive way and in a very demeaning and unprofessional manner and tone, stated that he was NOT to go here and must go to a restroom that customers use. It was so disturbing and uncalled for because he seemed stunned and embarrassed and her demeanor was plain and shockingly rude. I saw another customer close by who looked on in shock too. You know, I am retired and a bit old school but the way we treat each other should always be with respect. In my opinion, she needs to learn manners and her behavior was uncalled for. Times are rough for people lately, but this did not give me faith in human kind, but made me so sad and shocked. I would much rather write all the great things about this store, and, in fact, I do plan to, but this, needs to be addressed. Please know that it made me feel sad for this guy and I wanted to let him know not to give up on people who are not nice to others. To be honest, I feel like taking my business elsewhere and probably will.

My least favorite Safeway in Marin, but it is a great location for people in San Rafael.They are quite a small Safeway, and many things you will find out of stock; much more here than at other locations.

Honestly wish I could give zero stars! Not one to write bad reviews, but just had a terrible experience here today. The lady in the deli was rude and obnoxious and didn’t even bother to wear gloves when touching our food. At the checkout, I moved to a different self - check stand and the lady monitoring the area got visibly mad at me. I understand working at Safeway isn’t the dream job, but they shouldn’t treat people with such disrespect.

I love to Safeway everybodys always willing to help such a remarkable place I dont know why the Sun shines on the Safeway but it does 😊

Safeway on B St is much improved w its new manager and new employees. Also, the long time clerks are great. It needs a remodel though. I have been shopping here almost 30 years!

Lisa at Bakery Dept is awesome!!! If you have a special order or need at Bakery Dept, please look for her when she’s on duty.Buy Gatorade or Propel powders from here than buying liquid bottled ones. Will save you tons of money, environmentally friendly still getting your sports drink need. Always available in the section by lemonade powers & other sports drink powers & containers shelf.It’s a smaller local neighborhood Safeway store which has been in this location at least last 20+ years.We see some staffs who has been here many years. A several folks are very kind and courteous.I would recommend folks to shop here to support the local grocery chain store even though it is smaller store.Now there are 4 self-checkout stations as you purchase a couple items when the regular staffed checkout line is long.I’m adding a photo of Kymberly on Halloween day who was so nice to a couple boys in from of me at her check out line putting an extra effort for the kids get a safeway discount when they didn’t have a Safeway club card with them.

Small, but I do see all amenities in other locations that are in bigger ones. Service was good.

Safeway gluten-free cake and brownies mixes are the best Ive used .Being gluten intolerante Ive used them to make pancakes, donuts and waffles. Excellent product for the price $2.99.

Okay with covid-19 I feel grateful that we have a grocery store but come on the Fried Chicken had obviously been left from the day before and refried. The meat was obsolete there was none in it! Was just fried crust, and the guy at the counter took his time to pick out the worst pieces possible, when we returned the first batch, and yes they were inedible.

Terrible customer service. They are very short staffed and the staff refuses to help outside of where they are scheduled to work. I asked 3 people to help me in florals and they refused to help or answer any questions.

A below average Safeway. Yeah, hard to imagine. Wish I had opted for the Sprouts nearby.

This safeway is one if the smaller ones in central san rafael, bit busy, because it is the only grocery store around that area. I hardy go in there but this time I was really impressed by Dayton the assistant mgr..who walked and assisted me in finding products there since it just not my regular Safeway I go to. I asked him when certain products are coming in and he told me etc..which I usually do not see managers that informed and he was busy doing stuff around the store..you usually see managers walk around ..not actually doing things..I have been to almost every Safeway in marin county..besides terra linda one I live near ..this one san rafael is really impressive besides some of staff I encountered..the also I return a couple items at customer service she was really nice also, Ansil..not sure if she was a manager there..but I was blown away at their customer service overall..

Live in Novato still have to go San Rafael every couple of weeks to get the other Safeway Store wont carry.

Its Safeway it is open late night it has most everything you need, Ive been going to this Safeway for decades there it is .

No chip aisle and we couldnt find bacon bits but overall the store was well supplied and organized.

Had been met with bad service from deli again, from same angry lady. I always forgive one bad experience and I always thank people for their help. Bad service and dried old food. At some point you should not serve food that has been under lights too long. This has happened enough times to stop using your deli.

Went in just a few minutes before they closed and miraculously found everything I needed and got out on time!

Most stores today retain the diligence factor with regard to Covid. Not here, People do not use 6 ft distance. Masks are pulled down. There is no enforcement of the mandated protocol!

This review is for B St...older Safeway...doesnt have everything bigger ones do...nice people work there...return policy sucks n they dont like giving money back n its always a hassle...the crowd there is not always upper crust m u get a lot of unsavory people n a lot of stealing ...which in reality they make more money cause their insurance pays for it n helps make for bigger budget for store....this store hasnt been upgraded in a long time n thats because it doesnt attract a richer clientele or is in a rich area but it is a nice neighborhood n quite safe n no problems....u might see a lot of homeless around but thats the citys fault not theirs.....its in an area w bars n restaurants n lots of young people go there too...closes at 12 I believe...

I just moved to Marin County and knowing I was near a Safeway felt like home. Lol

Best place to watch homeless. They beg as you go in and out. Even saw a fight last time. Take your chances.

This Safeway is a hidden gem in kind of a rough area of san Rafael. The cake decorator/ Baker makes phenomenal bakery treats, the best of any of the other Safeway bakeries that Ive shopped in...

Found everything I was looking for in the produce isle and fresh. Price was ok but the self checkout is almost impossible for produce.

Should be something that could be handled inside any store location...I have tried three different locations.Other than that...nice place to shop.

Absolutely the worst Safeway in all of the Bay Area, Id have to say. It is always absolutely disgusting, never ever are the floors clean, inside the store and outside of it, the lines are always extremely long, and though the location is... Ok? I dont really feel comfortable with the type of crowd I constantly see hanging around outside of the store. I will always go to absolutely ANY other Safeway location except this one!

At times this Safeway gas lines to the back of the store with only one or two checkers open. Its much smaller than other Safeway stores and doesnt offer as much. It also has a good amount of bums/homeless hanging out, or around, the store.

Very poor product selection. Over 1/2 the soft cheeses where out dated, as were a number of other items. I ended up returning the items at another Safeway that was on top of their product and customer care. Honestly this location should be shut down.

I have a positive history of this Safeway in the sketchiest locations of all Marin County Safeways. The location, of course, is sketchy and the selection is the least of all Marin County Safeways. What is special about this Safeway is that it has the happiest cashiers. In this high food stamp use etc. area, the somewhat strange staff blends with this area and their happiness brings warmth.

Staff is diverse and friendly. It is a smaller store, so it does not have a pharmacy or some of the other amenities a larger Safeway would. It does not always have a wide array of products, due to its small size.

I do not like going to this Safeway on B Street in San Rafael. The reason is because there is usually nobody at the flower department to help you, the deli department cannot bring up your groceries, and the checkers at this Safeway at the regular lines are incompetent and slow. I thought I was going to lose my mind so I left

Ice cream sale went well.

Its tiny but they fit a lot of stuff in my lil B street Safeway store. Even when they are super busy they keep the line moving and if theres a price discrepancy (rare) they handle it nicely and in your favor. Always new and interesting produce (got a gorgeous Buddhas Hand there last month, speaking of...)

DONT GET A SANDWICH HERE. This is the first review Ive ever written. I couldnt let this one slide. Most rude customer service Ive ever seen. Woman was literally barking orders at the customers go get a drink! And what do you want on it? Hurry! Tell me what you want! while the old lady scrambled to decide and was actually apologizing. She almost looked frightened! Then she looked at me and shook her head with the customer standing right there, as if we shared some common trait of extreme disrespect.When she made the sandwich she literally threw the ingredients on and then SHOWERED it in mayonnaise. I was so disgusted by what she calls a sandwich I left and drove to Subway instead. Go literally anywhere else!P.S tried to call and report the employee but nobody would answer the customer service line and they dont allow messages.

Do not try and shop at this store at night. There is no labor so the checkout lines stretch back 5-10 customers deep regularly. Go to Whole Foods. Go to United Market. sheesh, even 7/11 will take care of you better than this grocery store.

Went in the evening and the outdoor lighting is dreadful. Its also hard to tell where the entrance is or where the carts are. I bought 2 bags of spinach that were not out of date but they were rotting in the bag. Had to throw them out.I wont go back.Gave it 2 stars because the people were so nice.

The worst grocery store ever. Waited on line for 5 minutes, then they closed it and pulled the cord in front of me. I had to move to a longer line. They gave no explanation and the checker laughed at me when I was obviously upset. THEN they opened it back up after I was stuck in the other line... One of the worst managed stores Ive ever been to. They are the only grocery store that is open late and the only time I go here is when I am forced. There are plenty of checkers there that are super sweet, the one that ended up ringing me up is always nice.
