The guy that runs the place knows his stuff. They repair screens. They have all those little things that the big guys dont. Ive started going here first.

Everything you need is here and if it is not Richard, the owner, will do what he can to get it. One of the most pleasant places to shop for your hardware and home needs anywhere

Wilbur g Shaw hardware is the best place to go for everything! its like walking back in the past into your grandfathers shop. They try their best to satisfy their customers even if they dont have the product. They take the time to talk. I wish there were more places like this that remind you of your past and how great it was back then!

Theres just nothing like walking into a store and being remembered and truly HELPED from the second you step inside. I love everything about this classic hardware store. I can always find what I need, or get suggestions on what would work better. Some items would be cheaper at big box stores. But those stores do not have the smell I remember so very well from my childhood trips with my grandfather to his local hardware store. I like being asked what my latest project is, and how the last one turned out. They care about their customers in a way you just dont see anymore.

A quaint, quiet, and rustic hardware store, located in the middle of town (Springvale/Sanford). The eye catchers are the Bible verses in the windows. The store is directly next to the Sanford First Baptist. Shaws variety of tools and hardware is on a much smaller scale than some of the neighboring hardware shops. I rate the place as where someone would go for either starting or touching up projects, or finding a specific project part. Also, the store is a UPS drop-off.The owner is warm and friendly too. He made sure we were looking for what we needed, giving us equal attention as his other customers.Knickknacks and a few books by local authors are on display, mostly at the counter. I recommend going here just for the homey, local store atmosphere. They sell hand bells too, which Ive never seen in a place that sells hardware.

Its been in Sanford for years they have everything you need from paint too fix it projects to cooking and cleaning. This place has been family owned since I was a kid. My Dad use to go there and it was the best time of my life amazing place.

The best value is the advice and suggestions, and they give that away for free! Great household and craft items for gifting. Fun for the kids, too; theyve got lots of fun things like magnets, fun key chains and chotchkes to inspire imagination. The store has been there forever and hasnt lost any of that small town, old-timey charm.

Truly one of the last hold outs from a time when we had real hardware stores in every town. Great inventory, fair prices, terrific service and a little workshop out back, where skilled folks actually still fix and tinker for you, if thats what you need. I even like the old squeaky wooden floors.

I have dealt with these people twice and they are awesome, one time it was probably 10 min after they had already closed and I needed something faxed the owner was super nice had me come in and he faxed it for me which pretty much saved me a ton of money. another time which was today i have been trying to find a big enough box to ship out my vacuum to the maker to get fixed, was super friendly on the phone and told me that they had plenty of boxes and that shouldnt be a problem i would recommend this place to anyone that needs something faxed shipped or even a tool or hardware the service is excellent.

I love this place especially when i need something thats out of the ordinary or higher quality. Gentlemen there are always nice and they know what they are talking about and are selling and dont b.s.you. sure it may cost more than the cheap stuff at wal mart but you get what you pay for.
