I had a really good experience with Advanced Auto. I took a car to them to have them look at the feasibility of getting it road legal and they were very communicative and honest about what did and didnt need to be fixed. In the end, they convinced me it wasnt worth fixing and even though they had already spent quite a bit of time on it, they tried to not charge me anything for the diagnostics.Both of my cars are under warranty at the moment, so I take them to the dealer to be serviced, but if I ever needed an honest mechanic, Id take it there.

If I ever end up living in Santa Cruz, theyll have my business for life. 10/10!•••••••• Context: •••••••I was on my way back home to Tahoe City through Santa Cruz after a road trip, and started hearing some ungodly crunching noises from my front axle. Having had some work done on one of my front bearings at a tire/auto-repair chain in Texas while I was on the road, I first returned to another location of that chains business to have them evaluate the noise. Without getting the car on a lift, a tech told me that the noise I heard was probably your link pins, a common problem. They could fall off and it wouldnt hurt the car. You should just drive back to Tahoe.I left that lot smelling foul (and hearing a lot of noise) and started looking for the most reliable shop in town who might be able to give me a better understanding of what was going on.I called Advanced Auto and explained that I was trying to get home but wanted to do so safely, and Ron agreed to take my car for a test drive immediately despite being quite busy in the shop. We drove, and Ron was so concerned about the quality of the crunching noise that he threw my car on a lift to diagnose the issue himself.It turned out that a bolt was missing from my passenger side caliper -- a small piece that can cause major issues while driving if improperly installed, let alone missing entirely. Ron fit another bolt, said this will get you home and sent me on my way. I havent had any issues since, and made it back in one piece. Had I listened to the original shop I went to, I could have found myself in serious trouble.Thank you Ron! You guys are the best.

They definetly are my new shop!!! They are honest and know what their doing. I have a bmw x5. Ive had 3 batteries and all this time it was the alternator. Duh! Thank god my car was finally fixed before this pandemic. Who needs a car problem to add to the any other problem we might be facing. I was tired of this battery drain. Saw online autozone would check it for free. Reuban said with a cheap tool oh youre alternator is only running at 12.8. To charge a battery it has to run at 13.8. HeJust used a cheap volt regulator. All car shops need one. Ive been dealing with this battery drain issue for years. My other shop kept telling me that im not driving the car far enough. Actually obviosly now I know my last car shop put on a bad alternator and a also the starter was also rebuilt and it stutters to start from the get go.

Broken water pump while on a road trip..Bummer Right?Well Ron was amazing getting us towed from downtown Capitola to his shop. Ron and Tyler along with his skilled mechanic worked diligently replacing the water pump on our Dodge Truck so we could be back on the road in a few hours!How can I say Thumbs up and a Big Thank You Guys!

Place is for sure legit. Never rip you off or anything. Simply put, straight shooters. Had an alternator go out and had them change it out. Completely forgot that I had replaced it two years ago so was still under warranty. They called me back to remind me just so I had to pay labor, which I felt like some places wouldnt do.

Ron and Nikki are awesome, they fixed my Audis brake pads, changed my oil and also helped straighten out my steering and alignment. He is really smart and trust worthy. I would recommend bringing in your vehicle to Advanced Auto Santa Cruz for any issue. Thanks Ron.

This was the worse service I had!!! I was extremely disappointed especially reading pretty good reviews on this shop. Ron, Im guessing is a pretty busy guy because he completely forgot about my car needing service. I went to get service on my fuel gage and once he told me he could work on it, he never called me back to get the service done. I wasnt sure if it was because I had extended warranty and he had to go through hoops to see if they accepted, which in my case they did. I had to wait 2 weeks for a response, but that was because I called. Then, I still waited because he needed my mileage, also needing to see whose parts they were going to use. Its now been a month and my car still needs the service. Now Im stuck looking for another and hopefully better shop😒.
