The best people ever. I hate getting my car worked on but these guys make it easy and care free, I don’t even mind stopping by! Quick and easy, fantastic service always. Love these people and this place. 10/10 always recommend
They get the job done when others cant. This store lent a hand in getting me my rim from another closed location, then went and put a tire on it.I am on the road and able to make money.Thank you.
The store manager Jesse handled me (along with a half dozen other customers and endless phone calls who seemed to all have piled in at the same time) with a lot of poise. This shop is very busy but they got me taken care of and Jesse made sure my flat tire repair got handled faster than I expected!
Fast, thoughtful service at a good price. Recommend.
The people were all extremely nice, really friendly and helpful. More so than at other places of this kind.this is my new go to for sure. Very affordable too.
My fiancé got ripped off by these kooks. They charged her twice for products and services and up-sold her services and products she didnt need. On top of all that, they spilled from the looks of it, over a quart of oil that made a huge mess in the engine compartment. I, to this very day do not understand why mechanics tend to take advantage of women in this manner. I honestly feel that if I had been there, this blatant Missuse of their professional license wouldnt have occurred. Can you imagine if you went to a medical doctor to have a bout of poison oak looked at and they told you that you needed to be hospitalized right away and a skin graph surgery performed, and at the same time, did a tummy tuck because they thought you needed it, and then they failed at the surgery and left a fork from their lunch in there. So, yeah, I can not recommend their service and seriously question their lack of ethics.
I had a great experience at wheels work they took care of me in a very timely manner the staff was very helpful and informative. Would like to give a big shout out to Carlos for helping me with all my recommendations Thank you very much for your service. I will return and I will suggest my friends to go to Wheel Works
Very helpful and friendly staff. I would highly recommend wheel works for alignment and tire needs.
The workers at Wheel Works are very attentive and makeme feel like a valued customer. The customer service is great. I have been treated with respect and not like a women at a car shop
Now that they got a new GM it’s great!
Got a puncture on the wheel on the day I had to travel back to the Bay Area. These guys were all very friendly and able to assist me in just a couple of hours.
I made an appointment to have the alignment that I had done by Wheel Works on Front St. checked because I was experiencing uneven wear 1500 miles after the alignment was done. Even on the phone, whoever I talked to seemed confrontational and rude right off the bat when I asked for an alignment check (I believe his name is Jesse Vazquez; My apologies if this is not him, it was the name on the card at the desk). I could tell from his tone of voice that somehow he had taken me asking for an alignment check as a personal accusation against him. Whatever, I thought, I’ll just bring it in and explain there. When I arrived, the same person who I had talked to one the phone was there. I told him that I was there for a 9am alignment. He looked at me like he didn’t understand, then said, “You wanted an alignment and two new tires.” When I told him that no, I don’t want two new tires and I want my alignment checked, he got very defensive and acted like he didn’t understand what I wanted. Mr. Vazquez told me, “But you said your tires are bald. So you must need new tires.”Are you serious?I tried to explain that on the last alignment report they had indicated that the tread wear was even across all the tires. I offered to take him outside and show him the wear I was talking about. He declined, then looked at the report, saying something like, “according to the numbers your car is aligned, you could tell that if you knew what the numbers mean.” I told him that all I know is that the insides of my tires are wearing faster than the outside, and that this was the last place I had an alignment done. After that, he became dismissive and asked for the keys. When I returned to pick up my car, Mr. Vazquez gave me the new report and pointed out that the car was aligned properly after adjusting one wheel. I was relieved, and said, “So the tire wear wasn’t from the alignment after all.” Mr. Vazquez, now speaking slowly, loudly, and over-enunciating each word, said, “You and I need to understand each other right now. The alignment has nothing to do with what you are saying.” I’m not sure why he said this or why he said it like I don’t understand english (I am Korean but I only speak English), but at that point I felt so disrespected that I just took my keys, said thank you, and left.Is this really the way I should expect to be treated at a business I choose to spend my money at? This is a chain tire shop man, not your personal business. There is no reason to take a customer’s question as an insult or challenge to your professionalism. Its Insulting to have someone speak down to you like you don’t know what you are talking about when you have brought your vehicle in to benefit from their expertise. Furthermore, please don’t try and sneak two new tires onto my bill without asking me. Whether Wheel Works is the reason my tires are now due for replacement I may never know, but one thing I do know for sure is that I won’t be back and I will actively discourage my friends from going here. I hope Mr. Vazquez knows that he is the reason I and anyone I know that owns a car won’t be back.
Made an appointment, showed up for said appointment to find out that they were closed due to covid. No call about it nothing. Thankfully Firestone was able to accommodate me that day much to their managers frustrations as well.Went back for a second alignment and one of the techs was much less professional and was treating me as if I didnt know what I was talking about. Didnt even tell me that it would be a several hours before my car would be done, I had to go in and ask.
In my opinion, the Wheel Works experience is similar to pulling into a drive through fast food restaurant. Risky.
Website said they open at 7 am on Saturdays. Sign on door said 8 am. Left at 8:42 am after nobody showed up. Complete BS. How hard is it to update your sign and website? AHoles.
If your thinking about having your car serviced here... think again. Im 62 years old and this business is hands down the most dishonest and scamming group of stoners I have ever done business with. My daughter brought her 1999 Camry in for a new set of tires and a front brake job. They not only charged her for work never performed, but they decided (Unannounced) to close the shop early to attend a party and left myself and three other customers standing in the parking lot asking ourselves where are they and how can I pick up my car? We had to return the next day to retrive our vehicles. The only thing the owner said was sorry about that.... Never again. Buyer be ware.
Fix your opening hours on google please. Other than that, great and fast job done by this shop.
Always professional service.
Called and asked about an oil change and tire rotation. Asked if I need to make an appointment. He told me to come by. I drive there in 5 minutes. He tells me theyre totally booked for today now that were in person. Dont waste your time dealing with these disgruntled power tripping lowly technicans.
Fixed my flat for free, have bought many sets of tires here, never had problems
It’s a bad service
We were able to get a nice set of quality wheels for less than the competitor..
Amazing convenient service, called Jesse said come on down. 2 other shops said they need it for a half a day for an alignment? Jesse at Wheel Works had it done by the time I walked to get ice cream and back. You can trust Wheel Works with your German vehicle’s. 6 stars!!!!
This is gonna be my first time I gave business review. I went there to get new tires. Before they started, I asked them if they could take a look at my brake. They said yes. After installing of tires, they told me its fine. A week later, I went to mechanics to change oil and asked them to check my brake again. I was told my rotor is need to replace. To wheel works, if you guys dont want to check the break, its cool to tell me advanced. Its horrible you told me you did the work but in face didnt do it. Never trusted this shop!!
Always need new tires, and these guys do a great job and have great prices. They are top notch on customer service. Will definitely be coming back here the next time I need tires!
Convenient as they have a waiting room. I got two new front tires. I was there for about an hour.
WARNING DO NOT COME HERE. Do your research and find somewhere else to take your car. They will not accurately tell you whats wrong with your car and then charge you for unneeded work. If you need a tire you should be good. But after the money I spent just for my car to have the same problem and them tell me they cant help me and I would have to pay more money. I would never go back and not recommend to anyone.
Drove over a screw and needed a repair yesterday. James provided a great service and good price even though they were super busy. Highly recommend!
Worst customer service.
I was told 2 hours to replace 4 tires. After 2.5 hours the job wasnt done, the employees move like slugs. If you need tire work make sure you have all day.
They voluntarily replaced a part for no charge that could have caused a brake problem. They were timely on multiple services. They are pleasant and easy to work with. Thank you, Santa Cruz Wheel Works!
I have tried to use this wheel works twice to put new tires on my car. In both cases I clearly communicated which tires I wanted (brand/model/size/etc) and scheduled an appointment to do the installation. In both cases I arrived for the scheduled appointment to learn that they did not have my tires. The first time, I was told to come back in a few days. I came back a few days later and they installed my new tires. The second time around, I arrived and was told that they did not have my tires. Then the salesman tried to sell me tires I didnt want from a different performance category (lower than what I wanted) that I had no interest in. The salesman then offered to get the tires I wanted, and to only charge me for 3 of the 4 tires. The tires that were on the car at this point were fast approaching bald, so I accepted his offer since it was the fastest way to get the tires I wanted...I have not heard from this wheel works since. I called many times, and they have not answered my calls. I have decided that this business is exceedingly poorly run and have taken my business elsewhere.I would strongly suggest going to another tire shop.
My husband bought new tires online and called wheel works to see if the would install the new tires. They said yes as long as they were new. He made an appointment for Saturday at 3. He sent me his wife and when I got there they told me that they would not do the work because our tires didnt have little knobs on them and that they were not new. The tires still had factory striping and stickers on them. I know we bought new tires. They told me it was at their discretion as to what tires they would put on.I suspect that I was because it was 3pm on a Saturday and they wanted to go home and party. We have been long time customers of wheel works and have spent a lot of money there. I guess it was at their discretion of how much work they wanted to do on a Saturday afternoon. So I went straight to Sears where they put them on no problem. So much for trying to use a local small business in Santa Cruz County.
Oops - this review was supposed to be for Saturn Cafe, across the street from Wherl Works & where I hang out whenever the great crew at Wheel Works works on one of my vehicles : Disappointed to learn that they no longer have mud pies - a treat I discovered at Saturn in 1980. Please bring them back; 3 generations of my family have enjoyed them! Thanks.
Been coming here for 10+ years to get tired for my mustang that has staggered and unusual sized tires. They offer the best prices in town on my special order tires. I still have to wait a day to get them, but nobody in town would carry them in stock. Rodrigo (manager) is a nice guy and I will continue to buy my tires from here.
Fair price and quick service.
Ive always had good service. I like the lifetime alignment deal, check it out. The warranty on new tires is excellent. Iv used the warranty and it works!
Have you ever been told you dont NEED a repair? James/Cody and Ethan told me I didnt need to replace a thermostat and replace my antifreeze! Even when I said I wanted it done. They saved me $100s of dollars and therefore earned 100%of my trust. Just bought a great set of tires from them and at a great price. They workedwith me as a read my Consumer Reports and asked about various brands and styles. Thank you gentlemen!
These guys are so great. As a woman I have had a lot of adversity when it comes to servicing my car. These guys spoke to me intelligently, clearly and fairly. I bought tires and got an oil change.I trust them now, so tomorrow Im going back for a diagnostic! More later...
I get my tires here for the last several years. They have a nice puncture warranty, which Ive had to use twice, theyll prorate the remaining life of the tire, if its a an older tire, or replace it if its newer. Theyve upsold me on longer wearing tires, which was a good move for me. They seem to listen to what I need.
I went in for a tire rotation and asked them to inspect the brakes because I could tell my front brakes were bad. They told me my front brakes were fine but my rear brakes needed to be replaced. They charged me 250 for that and told me the issue was fixed.I picked up my car and immediately heard the metal on metal crunching. Upon inspection myself it was very apparent my left front brake was completely worn away. When I called, they claimed that they test drove my car and heard no noises (literally unbelievable when within 5 seconds of driving my car you can hear the loud metal on metal) and that my brakes are fine.I took it to another mechanic the very next day who took one look at my brakes and remarked yeah this is metal on metal you can see the wear on the rotors. I dont know how they missed thisTldr; did not help and charged me for something I didnt need. Ripped me off completely.
Needed a rotation the manager insisted I had to make an appointment. I asked if I wanted a new set of tires if I needed an appointment as well, the answer was no. Called corporate reported the behavior to a district manager and I was told to go to another store. Not good customer service or ownership.Update: go to Lloyds Tire on River Street. Locally-owned fantastic service!
My girlfriend bought a set of tires for her car here a couple months back. A few days ago she got a nail in her tire and unfortunately it went partially through the side wall, rendering the tire irreparable. They replaced the tire for ~$35 including labor and taxes. Thanks guys!
Friendly, honest, and knowledgeable staff. Wide range of services. Competitive pricing. Highly recommended if you need to find a reliable mechanic.
Fast and courteous team. Good deals...tire rotation for life.
I had a great experience at the Santa Cruz Wheel Works. They fixed a flat tire on my truck. Very nice and helpful people. I did not have an appointment, and I was happy they found a way to fit me in their schedule. Thanks.
Used to be a great shop that would do custom alignments and had great service but managements changed and they are questionable with pricing, do not bother. I saved over 30% by ordering my own tires from tire rack.I would not recommend using them.
Quality Service best prices
So I heard too buy tires here a lot, but one day my trucks battery went out across the street from their shop. I was dirty, and sunburnt after working all day. The tech outside I ask for a jump start, he says ask the guy inside theyd be mood than happy to help me out. When I went in, and asked the other guy, he told me they dont do that, and have me the name of a fake shop, and told me to go ask them. Ill never be back here or recommend anyone again.
One of the honest shops in town. Have been using them for years now and they always seem to hire good staff.
Very rude
Super helpful and good prices on tires. They got me in and back on the road quickly.
So much more than a tire store! I had to do some unexpected, major work on my car recently that started with brakes, shocks, struts and more. The mechanic showed me the problem areas on the car, the guy in the office walked me through all the details of the costs associated to the work and gave me some choices where manufactures rebates were offered and where I might be able to hold off on some of the work to help with the cost. They listened to me and treated me respectfully. Ill be bringing my car back for my oil changes and tire rotations for sure. I highly recommend this business. Also, they were 1/2 the price quoted to me by another reputable service center in the area.
EXCELLENT service. Had 2 new tires put on. I called around, they had the lowest price, by far. They got me in right away and finished in 30min. Enrique was a pleasure to work with.
These guys are great, super fast and friendly. Gave me a good deal.
Theyve always been courteous and their service has been excellent. I recommend then highly.
Called in to arrange an oil change; they said come in. Arrive 10 minutes later and was told I was curtly told somebody else came first and they couldnt help me. Wasted my time and demonstrated poor service ethics.
Friendly staff, honest mechanics and good fair pricing, these guys want to keep you as their customer and it will show.
Friendly and helpful staff. Quick and on time
I just had the worst experience. I drove here over 20 miles 3 times now. I had an appointment they canceled after I brought my vehicle here. Then again today they tell me yes come down only to tell me when I get here they can’t do it. I believe the incompetence at this place is to the level of extreme and I suggest to anyone looking to pay to have your vehicle worked on don’t and I repeat don’t bring it here!!!
Good Crew 👍
Great service and knowledge.
Coupons online, check them out before you pay full price. I wanted to get my bfs car oil changed and there was a coupon for that. Sunday is *First Come First Serve* especially with maintenance.Side note... I was waiting and realized I left the oven on! They let let me run home with keeping my place in line for that exception. Im only 10 min away, but thank God! Lol Nothing burned except the bottom of my polymer clay charm but I can paint over it. Lol House is safe.. never again.
I am currently out of town and my son who just bought his first car that the previous owners put brand new tires on with the warranty was turned away!!! Not only did they turn him away and said warranty is Not transferable, did not even fix his tire. They told him to come back Monday morning.. I guess for going to their party Saturday night was more Important than putting a stranded motorist back on the road. This was truly disgusting service at its best. I sent them to Loyds Tires the absolute best family tire shop in Santa Cruz County, Who would never leave a child stranded. When I get back in town Ill find out just who the jerk that turned him away was and let the district manager of this low rate shop know just what he did or did not do. SHAME ON WHEEL WORKS SANTA CRUZ .
Quite efficient, service is good. If you make an appointment, it will be even better.
Not open sad had pop tiré with a 4 month bby out side 2 hrs till i got help from soneone else
When I started my car, the low tire pressure warning light came on in my dashboard. I drove to my local Wheel Works, and though they were busy, they immediately checked my tires, put air in one tire, and I was off and on my way in less than 10 minutes.
We had all our cars serviced there for years and Rodrigo tried very hard to keep us happy even if mistakes were made. However, now under the new management, things are different and we will not be coming back.We had an oil change done recently on our newish car and when we brought it home we noticed an oil leak. It was obvious the leak was coming from a drain plug, so we took the car back for them to fix. Guess what, they just tried to tighten the nut chewing it up even more and the oil still leaks! They should have drain the pan and check for debris or damaged washer or just do the job right the first time. They did neither. We are taking the car elsewhere to have a new oil change done.
Came in with a flat tire. Really accommodating.
Never take you auto here, worst of the worst, bad business!
Very fast very thorough!
Not the best mechanics. Forgetting and taking a hour to do the job when they said 30 mins.
Expensive
Party like its 1999 behind this place
Honest and quick.
Helpful place
Nice.
Weird location.
Excellent
Good!
The Hispanic person who attends me is very kind and fast
