Absolutely the best computer repair company! I live north of San Francisco, was here visiting my sister and tried to help with her computer. Nothing seemed to work. We made an appointment to bring the computer in to ClickAway the following day. Less than 24 hours later, Lawrence completely upgraded the operating system 10 levels and gave the unit a complete overhaul. It will take many pages to list all that was done, but basically it is a brand new computer. Lawrence is a Lead Apple Certified Technician. Very professional, enthusiastic, knowledgeable, friendly and quick. So impressive.
I took my old laptop into the shop in Santa Cruz. Rick met me with a friendly greeting. Tech Eric Dawson fixed me right up with a new hard drive. Now my computer runs like brand new! Per Erics recommendation, I will be adding 8 gigs of RAM in about a week which will make my computer even quicker. Eric is the best!

I had two laptops that crashed in two days due to a virus. Juan helped me understand what was needed and recommended that I get a new solid state drive for the second one as both were infected with a virus. When I came in to pick up the first one a guy named Vince helped me get things up and running. He was so helpful I asked him if I could tell his boss how supportive he was. Turns out Vince is the owner. Wow! That is good service.
ClickAway upgraded my three business computers and I am very happy with their work. They updated my operating system and transferred all of my data to new solid state drives. The also installed a backup drive. They did this for me over Memorial Day weekend so that I was good to go on the next business day. I will definitely use them again.

My name is Peter Klembara, I took my iPhone to Click Away two weeks ago. The technician promised to me to exchange the battery or to get my data next day. For a week a did not get any email or text about the status of the my phone. When I called in I was told that the technician will be informed about my concerns. I did not get any update for another week. When I called again, now two weeks after I took my phone to Click Away, again I was told they will let technician who is not at work know my concerns. I am extremely disappointed and in shock by poor professionalism and poor customer relations Click Away provides.
My computer would not start. I was worried that it would need replacing, but Clickaway was able to fix in in less then two hours. My server, Eric was polite, friendly and fun. I would recommend them to anyone needing computer repair.

I went in several months ago because my computer was having issues due to the motherboard failing. I initially brought it in for the $49/hr price, just to be able to determine the source of the issue and hopefully know what part to replace. They called me after the hour had passed and told me they literally had made no progress on even diagnosing the problem, and requested I pay an additional fee (roughly 100) so that they can find the source of the issue. I figure, might as well, maybe theyll fix it and i wont have to spend anything. Wrong. When I came back to pick up my PC, literally nothing was fixed. I asked if they determined the source of the problem. Nope. They proceeded to tell me that the only solution to my problem of only one usb port working would be to purchase a usb hub from them. FOR 70$. I needed my computer that day so i cut my losses, bought the hub, and cried myself to sleep. Now my computer is nothing but a Frankenstein that i wasted over 200 dollars on to be told its unfixable. Oh and when I asked if the Hub was returnable if it didnt work, the employee was super disrespectful and said Well if youre planning to return it in a few months, no. And the cable for the hub broke a week later anyways. Im not trying to gain anything from this review just please, dont waste your money on this service. Despite the comment from the owner that they have reached out to me, I have received no word from anyone at clickaway.
For some reason, I essentially got the Mac version of the MS blue screen of death. First time that happened in 30 years of using Macs (vs the 30x/day on a Windows machine - just sayin...). My friend searched on Mac repair and found Click-Away. Lawrence answered the phone in 2 rings (that alone would get a 5-star rating from me) at 8am. I took it in and they were finished fixing it at 4:30. Fortunately it wasnt a hardware problem, just something with my main directory. All the guys are really helpful and friendly and my MacBook Air is running about as fast as it was out of the box. The $199 price tag is a small price to pay for essentially saving my digital life. Im glad I found another small, local business to support. And, they have another store in the Freedom shopping center, which is great for those of us in the south county. And great to be able to call (will wonders never cease) and visit a down-to-earth, less electronically snooty version of the Apple store.
Cant say enough good about these guys. Theyve been my go to for years whenever a problem with my computer is over my head. When I got a mother board with a fault and couldnt figure out the problem they diagnosed it and contacted the manufacturer for a replacement. The only time theyve ever taken more than 48 hours was when they had to wait for that motherboard to ship to them. Best in town and extremely knowledgeable.
They were able to repair a broken component on my laptop, saving me from having to purchase a new computer. The labor rate was incredibly fair and the job was done in three business days when I had been warned that it might take up to a week. Everyone that I interacted with either directly or over the phone was professional, courteous, and very helpful. I would trust them with future component repairs without hesitation.

Took in my iPhone 11 Xs Max Pro to Clickaway, super smashed up, after I found it on side of freeway (flew off of the roof of my car 🤦🏻♀️). I went in hoping to get my data retreived bcus clearly the phone was no longer in working condition. Juan took a look at my phone and said that it certainly was possible.It took about 2 weeks, after ordering parts, and thank heavens he made it happen 🙌🏼. It was about $200 for retrieving the data.I also received an iPhone 11 Xs Max pro replacement device through my insurance, and just my luck, phone fell off my bed, cracked the screen above front camera, before I could put a screen protector on it.Took it in to click away, where they replaced the screen within a couple hours.Was about $330 but thats the price you pay when you dont go thru your insurance (to not exceed your insurance claims).Thank you guys so much and especially Juan for doing such an incredible job with such delicate devices. It was such a relief to find Clickaway that way I didnt have to drive out of town for repair.

I made a call on Monday afternoon, and discussed my situation with the sound output on my Vintage MacBook Pro (late 2013 as deemed by APPLE....LOL!!!) They told me to come over and theyd take care of it. I arrived, checked in with Lawerence. Luckily, the part was in-stock, and about 2 1/2 hrs later they called and told me it was ready to pick-up. WOW!!!! PLUS... the price I paid, was LESS, then the estimated amount quoted. Im a newby to Santa Cruz, and I paid attention to the Reviews on the companies, and I chose the perfect company to do business with! I took a older laptop computer to ClickAway with a file association problem. The tech Eric D. fixed this problem and told me that the life of the machine would be substantially longer if I replaced the standard hard drive with a solid state drive. I had him do this. But after I got the laptop back, the machine was not running smoothly,. I took it back to ClickAway and Eric spent a lot of time improving the machines behavior. I would strongly recommend ClickAway and and especially Eric D. The people there really know what they are doing, and will go to whatever lengths are needed to fix your machines problem. Also, the cost of service is reasonable, and the people are very pleasant.

Excellent, friendly, knowledgable and FAST service! Lawrence, their Apple expert went through and refurbished my Mac Book Pro which had shut down, recovered ALL my data, put in a new hard drive and updated all programs, and installed a new computer battery! Lost my Samsung phone and tho it was insured, I wasnt able to activate my new phone myself using the 1-2-3 steps they promised on the instructions included in the box. Found them on FB, dropped in on a Saturday, 3o minutes done. I shattered the glass on my camera lens, s9*... He had the piece in stock, cleaned shutter and camera, replaced glass cover, and put on a new screen saver, under $100 out the door. Great guys!!! Very happy, bringing my laptop to them soon.

Honestly, this shop is the best! When my Macbook drive got fried, I called a tech guy to my home, and he couldnt do a thing. I took it to ClickAway, and while they couldnt save my laptop, they did access just about everything on the hard drive and then reinstalled it on my new Macbook. I was sure Id lost everything, including my coveted photos. But they saved my sanity.Ive continued to use them whenever Ive had a problem, and they do the repairs faster than they promise. Ive even walked in with a connectivity problem that they solved in about ten minutes... and didnt charge me at all. I feel totally comfortable asking questions because they explain everything and dont make me feel clueless.I only wish that Apple support was this good.

Click-Away and all of their techs/employees that I have ever worked with are great! My whole family brings in their computers here. My dad even calls sometimes just to ask questions so he can do something without bringing the computer in, and they are very cool about it since hes a good customer. I have had a great experience with Lawrence in the past.This visit, I was greeted by Vince, who very patiently waited for me while I got on the phone with my dad who was helping me find my Apple password (took forever, thanks for being cool about it, Vince!)Then from there, I worked with Chris, and Chris was so knowledgeable, had fantastic communication and follow up, and was really nice. He was very honest about my computer and his opinion about what needed to happen (saving me from getting a new computer). He took the time to explain to me and show me things in detail, including how a backup drive works and, put simply, how you can lose information after 4 plug-ins. I am not a computer/tech savvy person, but Chris did a great job explaining it to me. He even stayed almost a half hour later without charging labor to add 4 GB/Ram for my computer after I changed my mind after hearing the benefits. To be honest, it was an expensive visit (I dont feel like the fixes I needed would be cheaper anywhere else anyway), but it included a very generous discount because they are super cool and want to help out their customers as much as possible. All in all, it only took from like 8:30-3:30 to get my computer back! He really put it as a priority I feel like, and I really appreciated that. I definitely recommend Click-Away and CHRIS! Went in to get my iPhone screen fixed (it was functional but cracked) and it went from taking a few hours to taking two days. They sent me an email saying it was functional and ready to pick up and when I arrived the phone screen didnt work and had a weird stripe on it. So they tried to fix it in the store (told me it would take 30 min and it took an hour), but they couldnt fix it and asked me to come in the next day. I came in the next day and a different person I was told to speak with had no idea what had happened and FINALLY fixed my phone. No one apologized for the inconvenience AND the screen is not the previous color (it has an ugly white button) which was not discussed with me prior to its installment. Wish I went somewhere else!

My girlfriend and I were staying at a resort in the area when we had a little accident--her Pixel 3A XL decided to dip its toes in the ocean. We quickly shut the phone off to avoid damage from short circuiting and departed to ClickAway to let them combat potential corrosion from the saltwater. Our technician, Ceril, was extraordinarily professional and willing to communicate the technical details of the operation in a concise, understandable manner. While the phone can no longer quick charge, all other functionality of the phone was preserved. Moreover, the phone was saved at a reduced cost due to a vacation discount! If youre in the area and your phone grows legs and jumps into the ocean like ours, definitely shut it off and run here first!

Update 2018 - So happy I happened to be back in Santa Cruz when my Mac hard drive started failing. I trust these guys 100%. They rebuilt my drive and recovered more data than I dared hope for.Also, I love their cat hair removal service. They open up your computer and get all the cat hair and scone crumbs out of your computer.For a few hundred bucks (worth every penny) I basically have a new computer. I brought it in at 8am and it was ready at 5pm.They are Mac certified repair. That means you can save yourself a trip over the hill to get your Mac issues handled. They are also about finding the best and most cost effective solution.A friend had water damage to her Mac. The Mac Store told her $800 for major replacement. Click Away looked at it and identified the damage was simply to a $100 component. Her computer was good as new for a fraction of the price.I went in for a battery issue. Cant promise this for everyone, but they happened to have a better, slightly used battery at 1/3 the price of new. I saved a trip over the hill and got a better deal, plus the better for the environment using just as good used instead of new.Ive always found the staff to be helpful & well informed. While I was there things got busy. They worked hard to serve everyone as quickly as they could without rushing

I was referred to ClickAway by another company in San Jose when I needed warranty repairs done on my Lenovo laptop. I was very impressed by the attentiveness and knowledge of the service representatives, and even more impressed by the speed at which my repair was completed. I stopped by yesterday afternoon to have the part ordered, it showed up this morning, I took my laptop in, and within an hour, they had it ready for me to pick up. I was really happy with the quality of work and service.u2028u2028Their office is also pretty inviting. Individual tables make you feel more important than the other companies that have troughs set up for you. I would recommend these guys to anyone!
I live in a Well Elderly Hotel. Its not easy to pack up and take my computer to them. They were very accommodating. Came to my place, got to the task of finding the problem, took my computer to their shop and in a short period of time I had very positive results. Best place in Santa Cruz to get ones Mac repaired. Very knowledgeable staffs and even though the stock never seems a lot but I always get what I want, here, in regular cases. They seem to transitioning towards a cellphone place and a service center it seems but if or when it happens,it would be regrettable. One strange thing I noticed is that, when ever a new customer enters the store, the staffs never greet or acknowledge the presence until they finish what they are doing and s/he is left standing awkwardly looking around asking for attention.

When buying a new phone I was NOT told if I waited 3 months a better version of what I wanted would be out. I would have been better off to fix my old phone which only needed the glass fixed at $150.I spent $200 plus all the cables were different so my old ones didnt work.. NOT Mentioned before!I like my new (now old apple phone) but felt pushed and convinced to buy a new phone by the deal thats being offered. I now ask for the computer tech instead of speaking with a Verizon rep.
Very unprofessional. After checking on the apple support website and discovering my phone was known to have a bad camera and that apple would replace it for free I took my phone in. I wound up talking to several employees everyone gave me a different story. I picked up the phone after 4 days (can you imagine not having a phone for 4 days). Turns out they did not do anything! I was not able to use the camera on my family vacation. Called apple support they confirmed nothing was done. Apple set up an appointment for me to get my phone fixed.

Chris worked a miracle on my Windows laptop. He employes the skill of a surgeon on computers. My Windows 8 froze in a way he had never seen. He managed to transplant part of his operating system into mine and reconnect is and it now works! I dont think that others techs would have been able to diagnose nor fix this very unique issue

I bought my first computer from Click Away after receiving a good review from a friend. She said they were able to resolve a lot of her problems over the phone, and at first I experienced the same service. Now I bought another computer and the service is terrible. They pretend that they dont understand the simplest question or that they dont have time to talk to me. I called yesterday and the guy wanted to charge me $50 to help me over the phone, and then laughed at me when I said no. I bought this computer in October 2015 and already by Christmas the touch pad had stopped working, so I bought a mouse. One of the guys at Click Away said that maybe the computer will download some software and fix the driver in the touch pad. Or should I go down to the store and have them reset the driver? In any event, I am very disappointed this time around with Click Away.

The Santa Cruz ClickAway Crew were fabulous. I had a major issue with my iMac, it occurred in the middle of a major project. I called, spoke with the service manager who immediately comprehended the situation, had me bring my Mac down and promised they would do everything they could to diagnose and repair it promptly. They did and a lot more!I dropped my machine off at 4:00 PM and had it back the next day before noon, fixed and running like a champ. What impressed me was the technician noticed several things that needed to be cleaned up in my file system and he made those repairs and all I can say is that they exceeded my expectations across the board.If you have a PC issue trust these guys they know their stuff and will get it fixed right.

Everyone here has been incredibly polite and helpful. Lawrence Rachleff, in particular, helped save my computer which was suffering from narcolepsy (aka graphics card illness). When I took in the ailing MacBook, he advised me and sent me three eBay links for buying a replacement, which was basically a carcass.After a day of completely freaking out that I was going to lose everything, I got the new laptop for a great price on eBay. Ran back to ClickAway, where Lawrence moved the RAM and data over. I got a new monitor from Costco--of course the old monitor in a gesture of solidarity with the MacBook--had also decided to fail. Once again ran back to ClickAway for the adapter cable, where amazingly enough, the guys figured out the exact right cable and adapter. They even carried the monitor from the car and back for me. These guys are thorough, honest and knowledgeable.
They charge a flat fee for any diagnostic, which is sort of disheartening when you have a small issue that you simply dont have the tools to diagnose. I ended up paying $50 to find out if my CPU, power supply, or motherboard was bad. The service was kind of mediocre the first time, and I had to return to have them honor their service guarantee and look at it again. The second time, they got it right. On a positive note, they cleaned my case and installed a nicer fixture for my graphics card without me needing to ask.
Lawrence, the God of Macintosh, upgraded my ancient programs Eudora mail (replaced it and saved everything) and Quicken (also able to save everything), brought my OS system up six or seven levels and put me in present-day functioning. I cannot overstate my gratitude and relief. These guys ROCK.
The website says 45 minutes for screen repair and quotes 108$ for my Iphone, I was charged almost twice that amount and it took 4 hours.

I am so delighted to have discovered this computer repair shop. I had a bug in iTunes on my Macbook Air, and Lawrence fixed it quickly--that same day--rebuilding my music library and eradicating the bug (as well as some others he found that I didnt even ask him to fix!), and for a very reasonable price. I will definitely use Clickaway again, and recommend it to my friends! (The two one-star reviews are frankly bizarre, and bear no relation whatsoever to my experience. I would ignore them.)

Maybe theyre good at helping people who know nothing about computers but I just wasted my time by making the walk out. I was looking for some basic SATA cables and didnt want to wait for delivery. The dude at the store didnt even know what that cable was. After explaining that theyre the basic data cable to connect drives to a computer he went to the back for awhile and eventually told me they didnt have any. First off, if you dont know what a SATA cable is I dont trust you to fix any computer of mine. Secondly, in a day where the internet exists theres no point in operating a store like this if youre not going to have one of your most basic and essential wares on hand.
Brought my laptop in with a broken charging port, they replaced the dc jack in one day, for a very reasonable price. Excelent service, excelent job
