Have read many great comments about your awesome sandwhiches. Having been “Cattin Around” for 45 years I thought I’d give it a try. Not being a Pastrami type Cat, I elected to go for what we love, Tuna. Let me just say, that Tuna was not the fancy feast I am accustomed to. Trust me, us Cats can tell the difference between “chunk light (cat food) and Albacore. Terrible sandwich, had to whiff my tail and walk away. If you expect to charge $7.95 (hefty), for a tuna sandwich, you need to use quality Albacore Tuna. When you do change I will sniff my way back for another try….Meow

I really loved their deli sandwiches. Since 1991, I have been going there and back then the lines were almost out the door at lunchtime for the choice of a fresh handmade deli sandwich, salad, chips, theres a selection of side salads cookies cakes etc.

This is my go to spot for a sandwich in and around Santa Cruz. They have big, meaty, made to order sandwiches, on fresh made bread starting at $6.25. Not only are the sandwiches fresh and delicious they are a great bargain. I would suggest that you get their early because they get real busy during the lunch rush. I go there at least twice a week and pick up a sammy to take to work.

Pleasantly surprised, unassuming exterior and deli at the back of a liquor store. Good selection of beverage and snacks nothing crazy. However the Deli side was pretty good, nice selection of sandwiches, fresh ingredients, good bread. Will definitely try again

The SC classic. Look out for the daily specials. My favorite is the breaded chicken sandwich on Fridays (try it with pesto mayo... shh). Fully stocked liquor store but no drinking on premises. Gets pretty busy around lunch time. Cant go wrong at Garden.

My favorite deli place! Great people and very quick service. Never waited more then 10 mins.Good quality ingredients far as I can taste and see. Roast beef is the best. Prices are fair. Just wish it stay open until 6. I enjoy having sandwiches for dinner as well. That wont stop from going tho when I can fit it in that small time frame.

Fantastic sandwiches, large liquor, beer, and wine selections, and the friendliest staff around. Highly recommended for lunch or dinner. The line can be long, but they move it along quickly and the wait is well worth it.

Love their sandwiches especially the secret sandwich I love getting. It can be a bit crowded and crazy during lunch time. But thats part of the game especially when you have such great sandwiches. Keep up the great work I will definitely be back again for a great tasting sandwich.

Love this place. Their prices are more reasonable than Nob Hill. They have Takis, too. The deli has great sandwiches. My favorite is the sub. Traditional East Coast style sandwich. Macaroni salad is really good, and their drink selection is really good. Deli closes at 4pm now.

Great quick bite! Pretty patio. Long line but LOTS of employees (13 workers for weekday lunch). A little pricey but cool setup - Liquer & Lunch!

Great sandwiches! Love their Morgan special, hot pastrami 😊, and Gobbler. Deviled eggs are amazing, pesto pasta is yummy and so is the taco salad. Staff is friendly... and mistakes are taken care of promptly.

East side Santa Cruz fixture. Good lunch option, in terms of both value and variety. I almost always get the hot pastrami with Swiss. Call ahead if you dont want to wait 20 minutes for your lunch, because this place is packed from noon till one. And be warned the folks who set up the parking flunked out of traffic engineering.

So lucky this place is down the street from work.

Close your eyes and point at the menu. Doesnt matter what you order; it will be the best one in town. If your lucky enough to show on a day with Chicken Chili Verde (soup) thats some Michelin star worthy s***!!! Cant go wrong at The Garden!

Best sandwiches in town. I can get sprouts and provolone as normal topping offerings. This is truly a destination deli worth traveling for, as I have done from West Side a few times when Im in the mood for deli. The bread is always fresh and tasty, the meat and toppings are generous, and they have a number of salad options as well. Round that out with a full corner store worth of drink and side options that has been successfully operating next door to a major chain neighborhood store and you have the recipe for the best lunch experience that doesnt involve waiters. Seriously, if you are just visiting Santa Cruz, this is the place you want to each lunch at, because, sadly, the deli closes at 4pm. (you can still buy pre-made refrigerated sandwiches and salads after, but its just not the same).

Two words..... Hot pastrami. Deli is open from 7am to 4pm weekdays and 8 am to 4 pm sat. Closed sunday. You can still get premade sandwiches after hours but made fresh is best. Also amazing deviled eggs. Best sandwich in Santa Cruz.

Garden Deli is awesome! Custom and pre-made sandwiches, delicious deviled eggs, salads, desserts, etc. Plus, they sell beer, wine, and hard liquor! Its the best one-stop-shop for an epic workday or picnic lunch in town.

Great sandwiches, good folks, rather odd location, but they do seem to have both outdoor and indoor tables, and at least a moderate amount of parking. Basically a takeout place, but a few tables available if you want to eat a sandwich there. These folks are very popular around lunch time.

I would call those just AVERAGE for deli subs.I had both a Roast Beef and cheese on mild sourdough roll, and a pastrami. About 8s,my hand length.On a Sunday lunch, the counter was closed, so picked sandwiches out of a case.Turkey seems least favorite as that was mostly what was left.Place is very neat and clean with 4 small tables inside.A great sub was the original Togos at SJSC in the 60s and almost no one wants to make a sub that Good anymore.

Best Sandwiches in Santa Cruz area hands down!!! The Italian Special is to die for and the secret menu Supernova sandwich is a French dip hybrid that blows every other sandwich place including Zoccolis and Ikes out of the water. Great beer, wine, and liquor selection. Deli section closes at 5pm and is closed all day Sunday, so plan accordingly.

Has everything you need from a liquor store including the common thief running out the door with a bottle of Jameson, I guess he couldnt get a better bottle.
