Our service man was very knowledgeable and finished replacing our spring in about one hour. He was very friendly and customer oriented. They do try to upsell the garage door springs, so decide what your budget is and how long you want the spring to last.

Eric was a competent, professional and very pleasant person who did a fabulous job repairing my old garage door opener. He explained everything and offered to give a quote on a new one. I had a wonderful experience with Michael. My garage spring broke and I was stuck at my house on a Friday afternoon. Michael was able to come by that evening assess my situation and gave me options for fixing my issues. I also upgraded my motor, requiring more time from him and he finished the job staying well past business hours. So thankful to have the help I needed when I needed it. There was not a hard sell just options.

I feel like we were ripped off. $1,350 to replace two garage door springs, spools and bearings. No itemized receipt. Technician said labor was $145, but a web search revealed parts should be $250 or less. I looked back about 3 years when I had springs replaced at another house, different company. It was only $160. My bad for not doing thorough research, but for everyone else, buyer beware. These guys are thieves.

A1 Garage Door Service charged us $228 for replacing 2 small pieces of metal latches that attaches the garage door opener to the ceiling: $145 for 7minutes of labor, plus $83 for transportation and material. Dont call this place unless you are comfortable with being ripped off.Also note, they will persistently try to sell you more services on the job, even after declining ... It was so uncomfortable, I literally had to walk away. I am shaking my head.

I have called them 3 times over the last year. Bought an older house that needed several things fixed, including garage door updated and now new springs. One time there was a freak disconnect and I couldnt open the garage door. Someone came, quickly identified the problem, fixed it, and it was no charge!!! Always very dependable, prompt and competent. The office is very helpful too, courteous and with it, and they even call you to makes sure let you know when the tech will arrive. Then the tech calls and emails as well! I am very satisfied.

Well, we knew we were in trouble when we had to call these guys. We have a solid wood garage door, and it is very, VERY HEAVY. We were legitimate terrified when the brackets started snapping off. I begrudgingly started looking for someone to come help. Off the bat, this company got ALOT right. I received a window when the technician was to arrive, and I told them I would not be home until 9am, and my request was logged not to show up until after that time. The day of the repair, I received a call from the technician that he was about 20 minutes out. When I hung up, the company sent a profile of who I would be expecting, along with some details about him and a picture. When Dustin arrived, he looked over my issues, and provided me with a very detailed explanation of the many problems I was dealing with. (We had seriously neglected our garage door, and we were also very aware how neglected it was.) He broke his estimate up by things we really need to do (for safety reasons) and more of a wish list. Which I appreciated very much. We had A LOT to do. Dustin was able to find a coupon that really helped with our overhaul, with was also very appreciated and made me feel like I could trust him. Then he went to work. Dustin worked efficiently and cleaned up after himself the entire way. He was also able to complete the entire repair, that day! Which was completely unexpected here in the land of mañana. So, it’s been about two weeks since the repair and we are still in awe of how quiet the garage door is. Prior to the repair, I could hear my my other half come home. Now, he can sneak up on me!So in short, this company FAR exceeded my expectations and at an incredibly FAIR price. I normally feel like a mark when I call for a repair. And avoid doing so. But this experience was different. It is rare to walk away from a service transaction as frustrating as this and feel like your issue was not only resolved, but you are in a better position than before the dreaded cracking sound. We had a garage door that hadnt been worked on or serviced in at least 15 years... probably longer. The cable snapped, and we realized it was going to take a repair man to fix it...I used the A-1 website to schedule an appointment for Monday afternoon. Well. I received a call stating they were scheduling out further and asked if our car was stuck in the garage or not. Since it wasnt pressing, (as our cars were out) they scheduled for Wednesday afternoon/ evening.They were respectful to work around my Work at Home Schedule. They were very well versed in a variety of technology (phone, email, text etc.) to send me a text, with the repairman picture in it.They let me know when he was about 90 min out, 10-20 min out... and arrived. Michael was very professional and friendly. He was very upfront and honest about cost. They had a Military Veteran Discount to help with the cost. Since I know our household I chose the Lifetime Warranty. Michael was upfront about the possibility of additional cost due to the age of my garage door.They were very Covid Aware. The repairman sends pictures to another person, to verify and double check the quality of the work done. Communication was excellent. Expectations were discussed to be realistic and clear.

First of all, I was provided with a photo of my technician, prior to his arrival. The work van is also very clearly marked . Robin explained everything in detail. The technician, Jacob was so professional and polite, and very personable. He would explain the steps as he was replacing the parts and showed me the old broken parts and carefully explained everything. He then programmed my old extra openers, including the exterior one attached to the outside if the house. My vehicle said it programmed, but we could not get it to work. Mike within the 1-6pm window, and notified me 20 minutes in advance. Installation (and removal of old opener) was quick, completed in just over one hour. The opener appears to operate well, and is much faster than the old one. I recommend A1 Garage Door Service, and will use them in the future.

I am editing my previous review of Michael S. did a wonderful job.... After the wonderful job he did, the garage door wheels began coming out of the crooked rail. I called him to ask about it and never got a return phone call. After contacting another company, they were able to come out that day and I was told that I was sold new springs that werent really necessary and the real problem (a misalignment) was not addressed. My only regret is that I went with A1 and didnt get 3 bids/opinions from others first.

Garage door was practically useless. Opener seemed to have lost its tiny little electronic mind. Tech (working late on Saturday) determined the problem --wind loosened roller track causing the door to push its sensors out of alignment . Tightened mountings, checked alignment and everything now works fine. Very personable, efficient, and reasonably priced.
