The ONLY place to buy instruments in Sante Fe. I love that they allow you to play the instruments in the music rooms before you buy. They have lots of great piano and violin books as well! The staff are always very helpful, polite, and professional.

Candyman has the best customer service ever! I could have bought my piano on line but I thought I would buy locally and I am glad I did. Rand let me have use another piano as I waited for the piano to ship. I received the piano and and set it up and later had a problem with the electronics. I called Candyman an Rand exchanged my piano for a new one so we would not have to wait for the old one to get repaired. I am really impressed by the help and support I received. Thank you Candyman!

Some of the guys that work there are cool and then some act like snobs . The only reason why I go there is because there the only music shop in town. Its the lack of options I would rather order everything online its cheaper and not overpriced. A bunch of the reviews that I have been reading on here are there local friends so dont believe the reviews go there for yourself.

Id love to rate them higher but their selection of electric guitars and amps leaves alot to be desired. Ive been in many times over the last year and it seems like their inventory hasnt really changed much at all. This is especially true regarding amps. I think the exact same amps are there now that were there a year ago. Of the amps that are there, they all look used and there is a very limited variety. This is especially true regarding higher gain amps. Im looking to buy either a mesa or peavey amp but it looks like Im going to have to literally drive to another state to be able to try them out. Its a very nice looking store with great selection of accoustic guitars but it just doesnt serve my needs very well at all.

I stopped to buy a guitar and support local business. I looked around for a few minutes but no one came to see if I needed help. The employees just watched me from the front desk. Then I felt uncomfortable and headed to the exit. Then the employees asked if I needed help as I was leaving. Ive never felt welcome and wont go back

A superb music store! Service and the items they carry are outstanding. As a professional musician and a now retired band teacher in Santa Fe Public Schools, I was very impressed with them. I had many repairs of school-owned instruments done there and they do an outstanding job in that department as well. I never had any problems with anything there, products or service. And their support of the school music programs in Santa Fe is absolutely fabulous. I can honestly say that they are one of the finest music stores with which Ive ever dealt in my 35 years as a music educator in New Mexico and Texas.

Before you go to Sweetwater or Reverb, make sure you cant get what you need here! The Candyman is a vital part of our community and will match mist prices online.

This is the best music store I have ever encountered. Rand and his crew were so knowledgeable, helpful, generous, and kind. They offer so much to the community, and helped me out as a traveling musician through town. I got to rent a gorgeous guitar that sounded amazing, and it made for a great show in Santa Fe! The Candyman is my first choice when shopping for musical equipment an supplies, for myself and for my students. Its a great local business.Update: I needed a preamplifier for a classical guitar. So once again I came in with a need, a budget, and some questions I could never have answered myself without buying multiple units and trying them out over time. I walked out with exactly what I needed.

The Candyman is the go to place for all your guitar needs, everything from maintenance and repairs to upgrades. I got my first guitar here and get all my effect pedals from here as well. They also carry EarthQuarker Devices which I would highly recommend to any experimentalist; among many other unique brands.

I have now bought three guitars from the Candyman over the last few years, as well as several odds and ends. The service has always been excellent. They are also not at all pushy about trying to sell you the most expensive thing (the sales people do not work on commission.) They listen to you and try to find what works for you. Definitely two thumbs up!

This place ROCKS, if youll pardon the pun. Everything you could possibly need to make music is here - including expert help with equipment, instruments, repairs, instruction, rentals, etc. Great used instruments, too - Candyman is the BEST.

This place is badass, I only spent a few minutes in there but I came in and knew exactly what I needed so I didnt really need to look around everything was easy to find. Tom was really cool, very helpful and definitely knows whatsup! Ill be back here again real soon!

Ill drive to Albuquerque before I shop there again. They charged my credit card for an unauthorized repair to my guitar. The repair was never done. Also, one of the sales guys wreaked of alcohol so bad you could smell it when walking behind him, at 11:00 am.

Rand and his staff really know the stuff they are selling, offer competitive prices to the internet on items they can and have earned all the NAMM awards they keep winning...proud to have a music store like theirs in Santa Fe.

They didn’t even fix my instrument right and I had to wait a whole week to get it back. Sam at least fixed it in 3 days time and played my instrument in front of me and told me what he fixed. This new guys who took sams place didn’t help me what so ever I’m still having trouble with my instrument playing right. I miss Sam and at least he knew what needed to be fixed.

I went to buy strings for my guitar and bass, and they didnt have the bass strings I wanted. The man behind the counter suggested another brand and didnt tell me how much they were. Since I asked for a certain brand I thought he would stay in the same price range. I asked if the adjusted guitars and put strings in them. Since I just spent 45 dollars on strings I thought they would do it for free. I could have done it myself. But they charged me an additional 15 dollars for that service (bullshit). I didnt need it and I like stringing them myself. So at the beginning of the day I was planning on spending about 25 to 30 on strings and ended up spending 60. Pre ty pre ty disapointed. The only reason I went there was because best buy was closed. Im going to best buy from now on or albuqureque. I just feel tricked out of my money. The guy who serviced my guitar was really cool and Im sure they do fine work cause my guitars sound fine I just didnt wanna be spending more money that I dont have. Other shops have done it for me no cost.
