I have rented e-bikes from ElectroMotive on two trips to SF, and have found them to be extremely friendly, helpful and courteous. One must take all online reviews with a grain of salt, especially extremely negative reviews. I am not from NM, have no connection to this business except as a satisfied customer, and received nothing in exchange for this review.

We had a wonderful time renting ebikes from Eco Motive. The staff was very friendly, informative and helpful. The bikes were in great shape and we got a thorough but not too long briefing on how to use them and great suggestions on where to go. At one point, after eating lunch, we werent able to turn on one of the bikes, but an easy phone call to the shop for tech support and we were right back in the saddle. I cant wait to go back and zip through Santa Fe on an Eco Motive ebike!

Great folks who are willing to help with what you need. I had an electric bike that needed some repairs and they were not only willing to coordinate with my schedule, but also did a superb job!

They were unethical and unprofessional and very rude. I asked how much for 2 bikes for 4 days, agreed to price, and paid in full in advance as requested. When I returned the bikes at agreed time, they told me they gave me the wrong price by mistake and demanded that I pay double the amount I had already paid. I was livid. They told me it was my fault because they insisted they had told me the price per day so I should have known I was initially under charged. Of course, I will never go back there again.

The owner Pam Sawyer promised to provide a refund for the defective e-bike when we spoke over the phone this past early January and eventually didnt. In late December 2016 or in early January 2017, I got cheated on a used 2014 vintage electric tricycle (a Schwinn Meridian with an outfitted throttle e-motor). The throttle type e-motor was defective and would cut out on turns and hills. Apparently this is a common problem with most throttle type e-bike motors. The problems started the second day it was purchased. To make a long story short, they dishonestly said in a recent email this month (May 2017) that I had caused damage to the e-tricycle when I didnt.Theyre also very flaky about their hours too. Theyre not actually open when they say they are. - I shouldve seen this as a red flag before purchasing the electric tricycle.I returned the bike in early January and asked for a refund of and the owner Pam Sawyer said she would give a refund. When the refund never materialized, my mom, who purchased the bike for me, had Amex do a charge back for defective goods on her Amex card but somehow this bike shop dishonestly beat the charge back dispute this Spring using a dispute company called Square that helps merchants. To avoid getting ripped off, do not do business with the Eco Motive Electric Bike Shop. I really hope they go out of business because theyre so dishonest. The owner Pam Sawyer should be ashamed of herself! In February I finally got a proper working e-tricycle from an honest bike shop called Rob and Charlies Bike Shop at 1632 St. Michaels Drive here in Santa Fe. I highly recommend Rob and Charlies.

I rented ebikes from ECO MOTIVE BIKES. When we had an experience of the bikes not operating properly and ask for some kind of a refund they refused and told us the bikes worked perfectly which was lie. They are unknowledgeable and unhelpful when their lack of knowledge creates a bad customer service. The bike’s I rented had 8 miles each on them. Natasha very nice woman knew nothing about that operate them I told her it was fine we had to ebikes home and have I put 500 miles on mine this summer in my neighborhood in the mountains. Very nice bikes but they didn’t shift and shift up or down, so really no help on hills like you would expect from an ebike. By the end of my 23 hour $200 rental the bike was constantly shifting randomly. I reported my problem to Pam she said she rode the bikes and they were perfect and offered nothing no apology just that I was wrong and she was right, had she said to me: well sorry that was your experience can I offer you a $50 credit on your next experience no nothing, just I am right and your wrong. What I learned if that I will not go to a small store front with Bikes and no knowledge. I will go to the bike shop that cares about return business like Mellow Velo in Santa Fe. I rent bikes about five times a year, in Santa Fe. I will use Mello Vello. They are knowledgeable and caring and they would’ve tried out the bikes before renting. goodbye $200 hello lesson in bike rental. Don’t go to ECO MOTIVE BIKES!
