My friend and I stumbled on this place accidentally and now its become a staple for whenever we visit Venice Beach. The friendly staff, decadent gelato, and chic vibes makes it the perfect place to meet up with friends. I love that they have vegan options as well.

Just visiting Santa Monica for a couple of days, and found this place on Google. This was hands down some of the BEST gelato I’ve had. The employee was super friendly—he chatted with us for a few minutes, answered all our questions, and made it a great experience! 10/10 would recommend!

All toppings and garnishes on the gelatos don’t actually go in your cup and are more for show. However, the flavors are fun, deliciousssss, and bold. The gelto is so good here. Very smooth and refreshing on a hot day. Authentic, fair price, family friendly, good customer service, cute shop! I’m glad I was able to take my family here. I would suggest this place to my friends because there is something for everyone.

This place is a hidden gem when it comes to gelato. My favorite is the ricotta one in a waffle cone. Hands down my go-to.

My wife and I just returned from 3 weeks in Italy on the 21 of November, and we started craving our gelato fix after only 10 days home. We looked online today (Dec 2) and found a place only 4 minutes walk from home. Of course, having just returned from the old country, I was a bit skeptical of finding anything like ice cream in the U.S. that isnt loaded with hfcs and lists of unpronouncable ingredients that leave you expecting crash out from the insulin spike.Not so here. This place gets all of its ingredients from Italy. If you understand nutrition, and if youve lived outside of the U.S., youll know the difference in the foods and why diabetes mellitus is so rampant (in the United States) and why liposuction is such a big deal here as well - but not so much in Europe.Anyway, back to the gelato shop. Dolcenero Gelato is like being back in Italy, including the Italian owner who works this place: great work ethic, with excellent customer service and delicious product. No corn syrup. No fructose (which fools the body into thinking its hungry).If you want a light snack that feels heavy, hit this spot. I guarantee that youll be satisfied.

The gelato here is an ethereal experience. I ordered pistachio and coconut, and every bite was light and creamy and delightful. Not many spots to sit. Plenty of choices for ice cream, even a few sugar free and vegan options. The prices ranges from $4-7 and worth every penny! You won’t be disappointed with this delicious treat.

I’m confused by all the amazing reviews. I was excited to try this gelato. It looked amazing when I walked in. I assumed it would be natural delicious flavors but was disappointed when I took my first bite in to fake banana followed by a bite of fake flavored hazelnut. Couldn’t even finish mine :(

TERRIBLE! How does this place have such good reviews?? Have people not, actually, had good real gelato before? Everything was, clearly, artificially flavored. The banana was abhorrent!! I love real banana flavored anything but hate artificial banana flavoring. This was definitely the fake stuff. It was inedible. The three flavors, I got, blended together in flavor, in a bad way. They clearly had the same artificial flavorings as a base and then something to make it taste slightly as the “advertised” flavored. Just not good at all. I am surprised. Considering how many epic, all-natural, delicious ice cream and gelato places there are in town, I just expected better. The bar is set pretty high in LA and this doesn’t come close. The worst ice cream/gelato I’ve had. I threw it away.

Love the texture of the ice cream, and the homemade sugar cone. Definitely worth a visit if you enjoy ice cream!

Absolutely great ice cream: Creamy and smooth, lots of flavor and not very sweet. It comes close to what you get in Venice, and I mean Venice Italy :-) No crazy new flavors, just all the modern classics done really well. Great looking shop, only drawback is that it is way too small so plan on enjoying your ice cream standing. Pricing is up there with the stuff in Venice Italy too, but more than worth it.

The hazelnut and salted caramel were real good. The other flavors we had fell a bit short.

Nice gelato place, but found the flavors a little bland as compared to Amorinos for example. Tried the Sicilian pistachio, coffee and dark chocolate gelato. The lady behind the ice cream counter was really nice and lets you try some flavors before choosing.

My favorite gelato place in Santa Monica. The location may not be flashy, but the gelato is so flavorful and the portions are very generous compared to other gelato locations. You must try the vegan chocolate gelato, its like brownie that has been infused into gelato. They are not stingy with samples and run a clean establishment. Would recommend of this location as my favorite gelato in Santa Monica. They also offer a la carte options, if youre really needing a gelato fix.

This is a must stop if you are anywhere nearby. The gelato here is second to none and Ive sampled a whole lot of gelato across this country! A personal favorite is their ricotta and fig flavor. Their gelato is made on premise and they claim to never serve gelato over 24 hours old. Their mint flavor is absolutely the freshest and brightest mint gelato you can find.

Chocolate lover here. Definitely try the Dolcenero or the Addictive Chocolate. Buonissimo!

The product is great.Their pricing structure is horrible. I came in to get some gelato for a party and had to buy a bounce of little cups because they dont have the type of container you would expect from a gelato store. Pretty pricy if you buy for a party that way... And not negotiable. Annoying experience to say the least. Shame to see a place with a great product to fail on such small consumer experience issues.
