I had to have my tire replaced immediately due to a Crack in the tread. They were able to put two tires on it and aligned it before closing on Friday night. Cant say enough about their staff!

I’ve turned my share of wrenches and usually take care of my own repairs but when we had a serious overheating problem on our truck on a recent camping trip I ended up at this repair shop quite by accident. I cannot give enough praise to how these gentlemen helped me, made certain my problem was solved, and also helped every single customer who came in while I waited. I would not hesitate to use this shop again and would recommend them to anyone in the Venice area that needs a mechanic.

Slow, poor service, terrible time and appointment management. Rude man at the desk, who I assume was the manager, tried to hand me my keys back and send me on my way when I asked how much longer for my simple tire rotation after waiting almost two hours even though I had an appointment in advance...I was like... are you serious?! totally didnt give a care in the world, just wanted me out of his hair.

On a Friday afternoon, I needed two tires replaced. One of them immediately! It had a gouge and the tread was separating. They had my tires. I also had an alignment done as well I walked out at 5:47 and they closed at 6pm. I cant say enough about this place!

When my wife needed a new battery at the end of the day, Mike was able to help us at the last minute. He was super professional and efficient. Most impressively, he was noticeably kind... such a relieving contrast to what seems to be the current social climate. The price for our visit was reasonable. Regardless, Mikes service and personality earned our business. Its comforting to know this reliable shop is just minutes away from our neighborhood.

Your website and Google listing says that the store hours for today are Sun 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM and yet, you are not open at 2:45pm.

These guys are great. They’ve done a lot of work on my car and they’re always efficient, always thorough and always kind. This most recent time I was there, I was terribly worried I wouldn’t be able to get to work because my car broke down so I called Mike at this location and he was mad cool. He said I will get it fixed for you today and if i have to stay later, I will. That, to me, was exceptional customer service and of a genuine personality. Long story short, something simple needed to be fixed and the guys did it right then and there, gave me a good price, had me out in about 20 minutes. Thanks again! 🤜🏼🤛🏼

Dropped my truck off at 1045am being my appointment was at 11am, was told it would be a little over two hours which I had no problem with but once it was over two and half hours I called the location only to be told there was nothing wrong with my vehicle. Not sure why they ask for your number if you’re the one that has to call them for any updates. Once I arrived my key was not at the location but on a test drive with one of the workers there, I waited about ten minutes. Do not go to this place unless you want to be very dissatisfied. Poor customer service.

This place is right around the corner from my house, so I figured why not. I spoke with Keith about my tire concerns and he was super helpful. I know businesses have to make money too, but Im on a tight budget and Keith understood that. He explained different types of tires and the costs so I was aware of my options. I really appreciate that he was so upfront and honest; 5 stars from me.

I brought my VW in to get tire mounted and balanced on new rims, and also get an oil change. It was very pleasant to deal with Keith. He not only knew that my car being a diesel needs special oil but it was a good price, diesel oil changes usually aren’t cheap. They also did a great job mounting my tires not a scratch on the wheels and the are vibration free, which seems to be hard for places to do. It was all at a good price and it’s nice to know Keith who is working there is a car guy, rare to find at chain store

Disorganized and Unfriendly - Go elsewhere! - I made an appointment online yesterday for today. Simple oil change, 60 minutes, all good. I showed up on time, checked in and sat down in the waiting area with one other customer waiting for his car. After 40 minutes, my car was still sitting in the parking lot, untouched. I informed the attendant Michael, that I would have to leave because of my next appointment (I had planned for 1 hour at Pep Boys, not 2). I asked him what the point of an appointment was in the first place, given the empty waiting room and the obvious delay. Thats when he became defensive and somewhat unfriendly, making the following statements: I only have one guy here today and You made an online appointment. So what do we learn from this? 1) Its the customers fault that the shop only has one technician but still accepts appointments, and 2) If you make an online appointment, its your own fault, because it apparently doesnt count as much as a real appointment. Needless to say that I recommend you take your business elsewhere. This shop does not deserve your business.UPDATE (11/02/2020): Their management reached out to me today and explained the circumstances of them being short-staffed and not on top of their game. They do seem to genuinely care about the customer feedback and asked me to give them a try in the future to rectify my first impression. Ill update accordingly.

Ill start out by saying that ALL front end components are brand new on my car. Upper and lower control arms, inner and outer tie rod ends, pitman and idler arm, and sway bar end links. ALL NEW. Now I was wrong about 6 angles being out as stated below, it was 4, you can see this in the picture I posted of the print out.Went in for an alignment. I asked for the print out and 6 of the angles were out of spec. 1 camber, 2 caster, and the difference between the left and right caster and camber were out. SIX ANGLES OUT OF SPEC. Caster was HORRIBLY out of spec. I brought it up to Mike before I left and he began to argue that those arent angles that cause tread wear. I CAME IN FOR AN ALIGNMENT NOT BASIC TREAD WEAR PREVENTION. The damn thing doesnt drive straight still.Took it to Cortez road for them to fix, they confirmed caster was WAY out at about 8 and 9 degrees positive. Spec is 5.5 degrees. They fixed the alignment and had what the caster was before they aligned it, it was PRINTED, and they WROTE IN caster for after they aligned it. I TOOK IT IN TO FIX CASTER AND THEY WROTE IT IN.... ARE YOU SERIOUS??!?!?!? The car still pulls horribly to the right. I guess the alignment rack randomly cant print out caster???? Theres no other explanation except they got it wrong and didnt want to show it.I want a refund, the alignment as COMPLETELY POINTLESS.I have attached photos of the print outs, as you can see my first alignment was horrible and the second one they just wrote in what they wanted me to see. I also have attached a picture of how I had to hold the wheel driving down Bee Ridge road back to the interstate.

Ordered tires in Monday had appointment, they called and said: tires are not here (website showed in stock) guy says it will be on Thursday, came in they say we still dont have tires.... would give 0 if i could, not worth to go there.

Left work at 5:50 had a nail in my tire. I called Pepboys and asked if they could patch my tire. They close at 6pm, I got there at 5:55 and they took my car right back and fixed my tired. They were done in like 10 minutes. So thankful! Great job!

I had a repair needed on my Acura, and Mike was amazing. He went above and beyond when repairing my vehicle. I came in without notice and they squeezed me in with minimal wait time. I stopped by one mechanic who wanted to charge me $200 bucks for a simple repair that Mike took care of in no time. Will definitely return for any work needed on my vehicle. Honest mechanics; I would highly recommend these folks.

Had a set of tires mounted and balanced. James the mechanic configured the tires from least to most weight back to front to have minimal vibration. He checked all my fluids topped off what was needed, and received a discount on alignment. Top notch service.

Found a flat tire early Sunday morning. Like everyone, I had to be somewhere soon. Managed to get the car just down the road to Pep Boys. Keith squeezed me in right away. A new tire was not in stock, so he ordered one for the next day. He put the spare on, checked all tire pressures, and repaired another unrelated problem he found while the car was on the lift. I was gone in less than an hour. As promised, Keith replaced the spare with the new tire the following day. He also checked and adjusted the tire pressures on my other car. It took less than thirty minutes. Only charged me for the new tire and install. Its hard to find good service. Highly recommended. Five stars.

I went back today and delt with the same person and NOPE he is just not friendly, infact very cold. They are over priced and rude. Maybe it is because Im a woman. I got the same service as last time and it cost me more ths second time even with a coupon. How is that? Not a good experience either times Ive been. They get a 👎from me!!!

Mike has been taking care of my cars since I moved to Sarasota and today Keith helped me out. Both of these guys are great, awesome customer service, and honest about what needs to be done. Knowledgeable, thorough, and quality service!Went in for a brake job, and they took the time to show me that my brakes were fine and didnt need changing, just an alignment; they ended up discovering other issues which were long overdue for some attention. Even hooked me up with a good deal on 4 brand new tires, now my car runs like an entirely new one!They cared enough to break down their prices for quality products and labor, which really were quite reasonable. They have been able to do just about every job I have come to them with. The mechanics are pretty cool people and knew what they were doing, even taking me aside and showing me the inner workings of my car while working on it, and explaining to me what had happened to it.Oil is usually good quality, and often a quick change; if you are getting a bunch of work done, I recommend having plans for getting a ride, doing some errands.

Tobin, the store manager, takes obvious pride in his work and runs an attentive and clean shop. He went above and beyond in terms of explaining my options to me and there was never any pressure to sell anything. Prices were lower than I expected to pay for the work done and I could tell a great difference in my brake performance the moment I drove away. I was treated well and fairly and I highly recommend this shop. Outstanding customer service.

Had the correct tires in stock. There was no wait. For four tires and an alignment took 2.5 hours. They did leave the interior of my car dirty which I get because their hands are dirty but would have been nice to at least clean the steering wheel and door handle and center consul off, especially since the interior of my car is a white-ish grey color.

Show up for a 3:00 appointment I set up online and get told unfortunately we are too busy to get to it today. Why take appointments online if you can’t do it. Or how about contacting someone and not making them drive there. Online took all my info it’s called common curtesy. Or how about you manage you’re online bookings better and block stuff out that can’t be used. Piss poor pep boys will never try and use you again and definitely won’t recommend.

Tobin and Mike take great care of their customers. I was dreading getting my brakes fixed when they started squeaking because I know how fast it can get really expensive at most shops. I am so glad I came here to get my breaks done, they were very friendly and I doubt anyone can beat the price.

Had master cylinder for brakes repaired along with a ball joint replacement. $600. Got the truck back brakes felt amazing. After several days of use I noticed the brakes were not holding up and something was wrong. Noticed a leak on a brake line that was not tightened properly and returned the truck back to pep boys. As I was there the man, Bill, tightened the line and told me I was good. I said no sir there is air in the lines and they need to be bled. He insisted the vehicle was fine. I got in to back out and I immediately brought it back because the brakes were still very loose. I left the truck over night and came back after 5pm the next day. The man behind the cou tee said my brakes were bled and good to go. I noticed immediately the brakes were exactly the same. I took my truck to another mechanic who bled my brakes and now the truck feels great. Have g car seats in the back of my truck wasnt enough to make sure the brakes were right. You guys failed.

You decide.Scheduled (with detailed information) appointment for my dad on-line to replace front shocks on his Dodge Ram 2500As advertised on Pep Boys website, installation (with coupon) as low as $17.50 per side.This deal is still current on their website.Was planning on getting a set (2!) of Munroe shocks, also shown on their website at something like $93 per SET (2), regular price.With that, total out the door (+ 7% sales tax) should be $136.96 - or close to it.HOWEVER.....Upon arrival some confusion ensued, guess it took a while for them to realize this was an appointment scheduled on line.OK - no problem.Then was told it will take 4 HOURS!! to do the job.Hmmmm......Then after waiting another good 30 minutes, was given an estimate(???? WHY??? - whats the purpose of scheduling and pricing on line??????) and quoted $500 and change.(Even though dont want or need, apparently after eyeballing it in the parking-lot they decided for me I needed rear as well. Which, even after allowing for adding rear, AGAIN does not add up considering advertised pricing.)All of this verbally, NOTHING in writing.Yeah....like, HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMSo my dad left.When hearing what happened I called them to find out what on earth happened, and spoke with Dave, who remembered this visit and proceeded to tell me, and I quote, verbatim:labor is $120 an hour and the shocks are ($93) per PIECE. This is what it shows in my catalogI guess whatever is scheduled and quoted on line goes out the door the moment one walks in the door.Interesting way to do business.Not wasting any more time on this one.

Dont do an appointment, the pep boys computer system doesnt communicate with their computers. 4 hours wasted of my life there, get there at 2:45 pm out at 6:45 pm for 4 new tires . Appointment was at 3 pm . Only good thing was the guy at the desk. Find another place is my recommendation, 1000 shops do tires.After management promise a phone call Im guessing to apologise for the situation, they never did, so they dont care. When companies this days of online shopping doesnt care about growing organically, they are destiny to going to cero at the end of the road.

Horrible people skills. You set an appointment and because they get backed up you get screwed. What is the point in setting an appointment. I paid pep boys for lifetime balance and rotate, but because this place is understaffed and mis managed I have to pay someone else to do it.

My breaks were giving me issues so I called Pep Boys on Thursday and made an appointment for Friday at 6pm. I drove my car to the shop and show up at 5:45pm, waited for someone to come into the office area to help me until 6:10pm. A kid named Ryan told me they cannot work on my car since its too late (even though thats not my fault) and that I can reschedule for Saturday at 9am. Desperate for work on these breaks I agreed for the 9am appointment and had to drive my car back home. I show up at 8:45am and an older gentleman tells me it will be 3 hours before they will look at my car and they do not have an appointment in the system for 9am. I was very upset and told him I had the appointment orginally for yesterday and needed the breaks done. He tells me, Its not my fault you didnt fix your breaks sooner. Thats why I was there??? So at this point, I cannot keep driving on these breaks. Its bad. So I go to my car and google auto shops near me. I find a place called Pit Stop and find out its pretty much right across the street from Pep Boys so I drive the short distance on these terrible breaks and I am greated immediately, they give me a fair quote and tell me they have many appointments ahead of me and typically dont take walk-ins on Saturdays but they will make an exception. They told me they will be able to look at my car in 45mins. Not shortly after they gave me the list of issues with my breaks (it wasnt pretty 😩) and the expense but it was a fair price and they gave me a discount too!! They started working on my car not long after and my breaks are a dream now. I will never even look in Pep Boys direction ever again. Terrible customer service and very unorganized.

Worst service I ever received at a pep boys in different states. Set an appointment for 11, he cashes me out at 12:20 and says my car is ready and they dont pull it around until 1. Two hours for an oil change when you have an appointment is absurd I never waited more than 45 minutes. Also told me if I want to change my air filter I need to wait another couple hours until they get the part. I scheduled the apointment 3 days prior why wouldnt they have the part. And then charges me $60. I never paid more than $30. Ive had multiple cars in multiple states and this was the worst service I ever recieved. Never coming back.

This place literally sucks, I made an appointment for oil change and these old men didnt want to use regular oil in my car cause they said their system say synthetic oil,but they always used regular on Nissan, if you want to be treated with a really bad actitud and feel like they doing you a favor go to this place.

These guys are criminals......I understand that shops will always mark up labor and parts in order to turn a profit, but these guys take it to another level. Went in the other day to have brake pads replaced. I know my car pretty well, and I knew I needed pads which arent that expensive to replace. Received a quote from their staff, saying that I had two bad rotors as well that needed to be replaced....ok no problem. But the quote stated that the labor alone without the parts to do such a job would cost over $300.00. The total quote was just under 600! For two rotors and 2 sets of pads?? 200 in parts at the highest point. It doesnt take Several Hours as the tech told me, to perform a decent break job, especially when only two wheels needed rotor replacement, according to them. An experienced mechanic can do pad installation in less than 10 minutes flat per tire. How much is their labor rate??? Its ridiculous that they demanded several hours of labor for a job that wouldve taken an hour to do at best. Absolute waste of my time to bother allowing them to quote my vehicle. If you go here, look closely at your itemized quote, and determine if the labor rate compared to the job you are requesting. I got quotes from 3 other shops that day, all the other shops said that their eval of needing 2 new rotors was wrong. Was charged significantly less to have the work done elsewhere. Avoid at all costs.

I did do the $99 brake job and they told me the same that I should pay 600-900. I said just replace the brake pad per the Groupon. Less than a month later my brakes screeches; keep in mind my brakes didn’t screeched before I arrived. They sent me an email later asking to give a positive review for the brake job and in return get a free oil change. Well I don’t want to drive away with an oil leaking car. No thanks. After reading all the reviews I am convinced to stay away. Good luck Just Brakes in keeping customers.
