Hard to find a good coffee shop in this area!!!!! Don’t waste your time searching like I did! This place has great STRONG espresso ☕️ good coffee and great croissants 🥐(I like to dip mine in coffee + cream). CLEAN and soooo friendly! Love it!

Industrial/hipster vibe is nice, if you’re into that. Standard coffeeshop menu plus some extra sodas and fridge drinks, plus a half a dozen or so options for baked goods like cookies and croissants. It’s situated on a peaceful street so sitting outside at their tables is nice. The box of coffee to go is also a good mental note to make if you live here. Pro tip: free customer parking on the side of the building, just kind of hidden!

Local bay area coffee shop. They roast their own beans. Quality is one of the best. Excellent alternative to Starbucks.

I LOVE Kahwa! Its not right out in the open, so you have to know its there, but it really is great coffee. Sarasota has lots of great coffe places, and this is at or at least near the top for me. I can stop off really quick, and get a great coffe drink for that pause in my day and enjoy. The french press is my go-to fave, but Ive never been let down with a mits morning cappuccino either. Check this place out and be ready to enjoy!

I am a regular customer at Kawa and especially the Sarasota Second St. location. We are pleased with the quality of the coffee and we especially like Becky. She is so efficient, friendly and calm no matter how busy it gets. Besides the great coffee, the breakfast sandwich is amazing!

Eager to find something other than the usual chain to satisfy my coffee fix, I detoured to Kahwa. The staff is knowledgeable, friendly, and patient. This regional coffee company is guided by eco-friendly values, using plant based to-go cups and paper straws. Most importantly, the coffee is rich and robust in flavor. You also can’t beat the price. I’ve never paid only $0.30 to upgrade to coconut milk. Proof of all of my praise? I was a third of the way through my iced cappuccino before I realized I hadn’t taken a picture yet.

The baristas are always friendly and welcoming, and the atmosphere is super cool. I love the art hung around the place. I’d recommend trying the madelines, they’re super fluffy and good with the coffee.

They had a 5 star for years.. I have their tins, coffee and love the cafes.. just walked up to downtown Cafe and they dont accept cash.. their loss.. cash is legal tender for public n private debts.. dont complain of change shortages because using legal tender is what helps that..

I typically love Kawha coffee, but todays visit makes me not want to return to this location until they get better help.The coffee was so watered down that I couldnt taste coffee and it was dark roast..The pound cake is so dry it crumbles.The employees are more focused on online than customers in the store.The coffee lids are not secure and drip on your clothes.

The Main Street location is the BEST! What a great TEAM they are. Most the time I get a cafe mocha, extra short, sweetened. Lately I’ve gotten the white chocolate peppermint! This puts any other coffee place to shame! They also have the best savory scone ever!

This is my new favorite coffee spot. I go out of my way to stop by and get a cold brew. It is a much higher quality product than most of the coffee you find in the area. The staff is super nice and the space is really inviting.

Finally! A well made espresso based drink. After moving from a big city with a hip coffee scene, I’ve been missing a well made espresso. Was thrilled to have discovered this place. Had an almond croissant and a piece of banana bread that I brought home. Both were good. The place is quiet, which I prefer so there is no music blaring a touch louder than needed. This is a great place to get some work done, meet with friends or do a little reading! Will definitely be back anytime I’m in St. Pete’s!

Today I ordered an iced latte along with other 2 coffees and was given a matcha latte. Told the barista and apparently he understood a matcha latte instead of iced latte. No a big deal. Everyone can make a mistake and I was not in a rush. What bothered me was the fact that a matcha latte costs more than a regular iced latte and I had to be the one asking if I was charged more. When they confirmed yes, a second barista went ahead and said that there was not a big difference in price. I then proceeded asking: “Okay so how much?” - “Oh just 30 cent”, but no intention to find a solution whatsoever! I get it that I might not go broke for 30 cents, but it’s kind of dishonest to not mention any price difference or trying to find a form of reimbursement! If I don’t have 30 cents to meet the price for a coffee, would they give me the coffee anyway? I don’t think so! Anyway, after pointing out the fact that I was getting charged more for something that I didn’t order the barista then offered to add some flavoring syrup to one of my coffees. I accepted the “trade”, thank them and went on my way, but definitely didn’t appreciate the way that they managed the situation. Also in case you were wondering it was just me an another client, so 2 baristas/4 coffees. And this without even adding the fact that it’s the second week in a row that my coffee order was wrong. After more than 7 years coming here, I don’t know if I would come back. It’s not about the mistake, but how they were about to charge me more without telling me!

I am always happy with my coffee from kahwa. They even have delicious keto options available. And they are so good.

The coffee and service are excellent.Their cold brews are wonderfully smooth and delicious. Their sweets sell out fast but are amazing.Definitely recommend stopping by if youre in the area.

I love this place! The coffee is better than other chains and the prices are even better still. I live off the cold brew and the pastries are always excellent. Try the savory scones or the gourmet cheesecake cups. The staff are always friendly and helpful. I just wish they stayed open a little longer like they used to be.

Unfortunately went downhill... used to really enjoy going here everyday for my morning coffee, but ever since the guy barista with the bangs who broke his arm and used one arm to make lattes left, nothing has been good anymore. Their milks are what make their drinks not good anymore. I really suggest getting oatly barista milk. Your customers will appreciate it!

Im literally standing outside the store right now. This is during the time of the covid 19 virus. Theres a sign outside that says you have to order using their app. I dont want to download an app taking up space on my phone gathering data about me and violating my privacy.I called the store. I reached a person inside and asked him if I could order some coffee. He told me no. He said the only way to order coffee is to download the app and order through the app. I told him I didnt want to order through the app but Id like to order take out from outside the store. he told me he doesnt own the place he only works there Hes been told to only use the app and he wont sell me coffee.Good job Kawa downtown Sarasota.

LOVE this coffee shop. If youre looking for a real and good cup of coffee in Sarasota, or a Flat White, or well made Latte. This is your place. Finally, Sarasota has some REAL coffee. Their baked goods are average. The staff are always real friendly, and theres typically good local art hanging. While there is construction going on now on the same street (Winter 2017), its a great place to sit outside and enjoy some sunshine.

My wife was in there this Monday Morning as she is always in there during the week sometimes to get coffee and other times to just use the restroom that are very clean.She works for Manatee County Transit bus system and the restrooms at the Sarasota bus terminal are always extremely dirty. So this morning one of your employees told my wife she cannot just use the restroom that she will have to buy something. I personally m appalled by this from one of your employees most times drivers purchase something and then there are times that hen they are running late they hav barely enough time to use a restroom, I do understand about trying to keep the homeless out and keeping a safe and clean business but to approach a driver who is obviously not homeless or dirty looking I feel is inappropriate behavior on your employee, I hope that this employee was just having a bad day and realized she made a mistake in this matterI hope that management will talk to this individual and my love wife does not have to be embarrassed againThank You

Yes, their flat white is indeed significantly better than Starbucks, and far less expensive as well. I understand the same is true for their basic black coffee as well, from which all their other wonderful coffee drinks derive. Fast, efficient and very talented baristas, pleasant surroundings, right across from Whole Foods in downtown Sarasota and that cant be beat. Wonderful place and highly recommended!

Great spot in downtown Sarasota. Delicoius pastries and even better espresso. Their inside seating is a little dark and bleak, but they have a great patio (good for people watching). Highly recommend.

I am not sure if we had bad luck, but the espresso was too light, no body, almost no flavor. We asked for 2 cappuccinos. The barista had good intentions trying to do a fine design, but that resulted in two lattes, and not two cappuccinos as we asked. I have tried the same drinks in St Pet, and I remember that they were much better. May be you need to calibrate that grinder to give more grams, or there was something wrong with those coffee beans. And leave those fancy designs for lattes, and make a true cappuccino please.

Nice place, great atmosphere, real good espresso, delicious croissants, rock-solid Internet, clean restroom, perfect location, reasonable prices, nice street view through the floor-to-ceiling front windows. I didnt give it 5 stars because the barista behind the counter gave me an attitude when I asked her about the Internet key. I was with a friend, she ordered an espresso + croissant, I pulled out my computer, greeted the barista and asked her if the network Kahwa guest was theirs, she said yes, then I asked her if she knew the key, and she said yes. At this point, any reasonable person would have provided the key without me having to ask explicitly, but she didnt. She just kept silent, so I asked her what the key was, it was only when that she told it to me. It felt between condescending and passive-aggressive

First time trying. Got their house blend coffee and a croissant. I usually am disappointed by most coffee places house coffee, but this one was very good (I drink it black, no sugar). Although it was Central American, it didnt accost with acidity like some can. Croissant was excellent, too. Outside cafe seating is nice, as well. Nice umbrellas, enough sidewalk to have your own space, etc. Kahwa, one thing. Your for here mugs are bad design. They look good, but its impossible to avoid scorching a finger on the side with the small leverage you get from such a tiny handle.
