Got some nasty gunk in my eye, and the pain was excruciating. Dr. Sloan managed to fit me in between her scheduled appointments, and with some kind words and some eye drops, I was feeling completely better within a day.Top notch service, professionalism, and affordable rates for all of her services. I was not going to leave a review since it would be negative, but I think customers should know my honest experience. I paid out of pocket for everything and this was the absolute most money I have ever spent on my eyes in one appointment (I have been everywhere from high-end optometrists to the cheap 2for1 deals and in between). I found my frames elsewhere for $250 less, which was my first disappointment. They were very nice about letting me switch the frames, bring in my own and reimbursing me, however. Then, my prescription was never quite right. I changed out the lenses because I was having a hard time with the lower progressive area. I was told it wouldnt be perfect and made to feel a little bad for wanting to adjust them more and for wanting to see properly, so I never pursued it further. I can see distance fine, but definitely not close and never the computer. I was also told Id need a completely different pair for the computer, so I had the doctor give me a prescription for computer frames so I could just order them online to avoid another $500+ spent. The reason I gave above a one star, was because the optometrist, Dr. Kerris, was very nice.

I was on my last pair of contacts and stopped in to order another box, to my surprise they had an extra pair of my script in my file for me. Such great customer service! Thank you for putting patients first!

Ive been going to Dr. Sloan since I was a child. She was one of the only Dr.s that I didnt mind going to. She is thorough with her examinations and makes me feel genuinely assured about the health of my eyes. Ive switched insurance providers or else I would continue going to her (debating on just paying the out of pocket to rest assured about my eye examination). She has set my standard for an optometrist high.

I have been going to Dr. Sloan for over 30 years and she is absolutely wonderful as well as her staff. Due to change of insurance I chose an eye doctor in the network and while he was very nice and professional it just wasnt the same experience. It was time for my next exam and decided to go back to Dr.Sloan, even if out of network. So glad I did and will continue. My family has been going to Dr. Sloan for a long, long time. I moved away from Sarasota, but drive the two hours once a year for my annual eye appointment - theyre that good. Tasha is absolutely amazing and honestly cannot recommend them enough.

Highly knowledgeable and professional. Facility is neat and well organized. Dr. Sloan herself is an excellent and approachable doctor.

I’ve been going to Dr. Sloan for years and when I switched to someone else when my insurance changed...I can running back! She is just that good. I use my out of network benefits to see her and it is worth it.The addition of Dr. Kerris is a great fit. I saw her this last time and she takes her time, is knowledgeable, and compassionate.The front desk staff (Tasha and Tricia) have been there for years. They are awesome and it truly says something about their relationship with Dr. Sloan.You won’t go wrong choosing Dr. Sloan or Dr. Kerris.I highly recommend them for eye exams and contact lens fittings. I have astigmatism and they are experts!

I have been going to Dr. Sloan for probably 20 years now, and I have never once had a problem or unpleasant experience. I can get an appointment very quickly for regular exams, and was seen immediately for 2 painful emergencies. There is a very minimal wait, if at all, and she and her employees are always cheerful and efficient. I would highly recommend, and do to my acquaintances, Dr. Sloan for vision care. I would not dream of seeing anyone else.

I am very happy with Dr. Sloan and, after floating between different optometrists for years, I am very glad to have found someone trustworthy, knowledgeable and efficient. I like that she is in downtown Sarasota and has been in the same location for years. Her staff is also very helpful. I order my lenses through her because they make it easy.

This place is amazing!! Unbelievable support staff, especially Tricia. I was vacationing, tore a lens, and she replaced them hassle free. Can’t recommend enough, you have to transition your eye care to Susan Sloan.

BEST EXPERIENCE EVER!! The girls that work the front desk took what I wanted to do (get lenses in frames), went through my policy, and figured out how to use my policy to maximize what I can get out of it in the timeframe I needed. They figured out that the best use of my policy is to use my benefits for contacts, and use their lab for my lenses because of my short turnaround, and they’re ordering me in trials that will come in next week in a few different adjustments so that they can get the perfect contact lenses for me. When I was in the actual exam room, I explained to the doc the challenges I’ve been having, and my fears about the health of my eyes, and how that will look down the road. I left there spending as little as possible, getting the most from my plan, feeling reassured that my health was great, and in a fabulous mood because the girls that I encountered were just so lovely. In my 10 years of wearing glasses, this was the best experience I’ve ever had at an optometrist office, and I might go as far to say with any doctor. 10/10 experience.(I had Dr. Kerris)

The best eye exam I have had. My correction is rather complicated and sometimes needs to be modified. Dr sloan nailed it easily the first time. The office is friendly and the frame selection is up to date

I cant say enough good things about Dr. Kerris and her team at this office. Ive never had luck getting contacts to allow me to see the way I need to (because of astigmatism) up close in my work as a writer and editor and obviously at a distance for driving etc. Its always been a compromise that required reading glasses — until now.Dr. Kerris hooked me up with the newest technology (Bausch & Lomb Ultra Astigmatism Presbyopia lenses). Its nothing short of a miracle. The habit of reaching for my readers hasnt gone away, but my need for them totally has. Thank you!

I would give 6 stars if I could. My husband saw Dr Kerris first, and actually called me from the parking lot to rave about how patient, well-informed, and thorough she was (especially compared to the LensCrafters person he saw previously). I saw her for myself shortly after, when I ran out of contact lenses 4 weeks after having a baby, and my prescription was 3 years old! Dr Kerris was so kind and understanding of me bringing the little guy along and wearing him, since I didnt have a babysitter and he was not yet taking a bottle. She was also very knowledgeable about pregnancy-related vision changes, so she put me in trial contacts and had me follow up a month later, before confirming and ordering boxes of contacts and new glasses. Sure enough, there was a bit more of a change, and thanks to her, no money wasted! The office staff are super friendly and helpful. Id absolutely recommend this office to anyone.

My husband and I have been going to Dr Sloan for about 4 years, we love her! She is so sweet, takes her time to get your prescription right, she has fixed so many issues I had with not being able to drive at night, etc...I just cant say enough about her.

I no longer live in Sarasota full time..but remembered when I did going to Dr Sloan. Well while visiting area I bent down to move a palm..and the branch poked my eye and lodged pieces inside...it was truly like a horror movie. I never dreamed she would see me right away as not been patient in years since...Well she did..I am so grateful...It had nothing to do with fact I was a patient way back ..I could tell she would do that for anyone..bc was not until I was in her office she remembered my face...FOr sure would SEE Dr Sloan ( no pun intended_

To Max W: Well to be honest sir, you sound like an imbecile and a pig. Idk what personal issue you have with Dr. Sloan, but you only seem to mention her appearance and no real details about your experience as a patient.For those who are looking for a more accurate patient experience: I have gone to many different optometrists in town including the very large and very reputable Center for Sight. Although Center for Sight gave me great service, and as did the other optometrists, but their scheduling always created long waits which is rather a drag. Dr. Sloan maintain a more intimate practice, and for me thats great because it means I can count on my appointment being on time.Scheduling and keeping appointments is obviously extremely important, but beyond that having the right equipment also can give you an edge and Dr. Sloan has the best in town. The retinal imaging you relieve at her clinic you cant get anywhere else. This allows her to give a much more detailed analysis of your vision health. This can be especially helpful in situations such as my grandmothers, who has glaucoma.In addition to all this the glasses store and the girls who work in there are incredible. The frames are higher end so they can get a bit pricey but there are more affordable options as well. As far as lenses the last time I compared prices she was 30% of what LensCrafters was asking. So ya helping me keep $250 in my pocket? I definitely like that lol.And even more than all this Dr. Sloan has the best bedside manner of any Dr Ive ever had.I have been a loyal patient for years and Im sure you will be too! :)
