This was my first experience going to Eyeglass World and it was amazing! Everyone was so helpful and friendly from Mora checking me in to Dr. Veronica completing the most efficient eye exam I ever had, and then being taken care of at the end by Venus! The whole Team was in sync and I felt taken care of. My wife will be coming in next to get her exam done and new glasses. I will definitely be a loyal customer here, and wish I had come here sooner rather than using other eye glass stores need the past.

Exceptional service. They really pulled through for me. Really went above and beyond wjen they didnt have to. This place is outlr new eye place. They explained everything in detail for me and I truly appreciated it. The doctor explained my script and why there was changes. SO HAPPY TO FINALLY FIND A GREAT EYEGLASS STORE/EYE DOCTOR WHO ACTUALLY CARES!!!!!

I have used Eyeglass World for my eye exams and glasses for several years. The service and products have always been first class. My most recent visit was the very best experience. My technician, Venus, was very knowledgeable and very personable. I actually added new additional features to two latest eyeglass purchases after advantages were explained to me. I’m sure this service center will be my first choice for eye care for all my future needs.

That place is terrible the ladies in white coats are extremely rude and no help at all, they say you get your glasses the same day or less than a week but that’s a lie I been waiting for a month now and I’m still wait till this day!! Therefore I try to get a refund but they wouldn’t give me one. I would gladly take the glasses that I paid for or a full refund :/

10/10! I got my eyes checked and my glasses done at this location. The eye exam was quick and my glasses were done next day. Mia and Paul helped me with billing my glasses through the insurance and Paul helped me very quickly get them adjusted!!! I bring my 5 year old here for his eye exams too and they are great with kids. Thank you guys!!

Soooo the reason for my visit was for glasses in one day, it doesnt happen so that is very misleading. Additionally the ladies on the floor are very demeaning and rude. The communication when you walk in the door is terrible.

Very disappointed with the service. Was never ever greeted or ask if I needed help. When ready to check out I had to wait 25 minutes before anyone came to help. Unprofessional atmosphere with multiple employees laughing loudly in the back area when customers are waiting for help.

Pros:- Great frame selection!- Awesome customer service! Garnett was very professional and friendly. I didnt feel rushed even though they were busy. He explained everything clearly and offered his opinions but no sales pressure.- Good looking location with easy parking- Decent pricingCons:- Long wait times. They seem to always be busy, which in and of itself isnt a con, but they dont seem to have a way to manage clients when its busy. It was kind of a cluster with customers just wandering around not knowing what to do next, not really being addressed by the admittedly busy staff. Then when someone was finally available, they had no real way of knowing who was next. But honestly, it was the only mar on the experience!

Paul, the assistant manager, is very professional and gives you all of your options, finds the best pricing solution and is overall an excellent customer service representative!Not only did he make the buying glasses process less of a burden but turned it in to an excellent experience and Im even going back to buy another pair he showed me that I fell in love with but couldnt buy quite now, with no judgement whatsoever and even let me take pictures of the model to get it next time!

I have gotten my glasses at Eyeglass World for years, however I will not be returning to this location. My fault I didn’t see the temperature check etc when I walked in, it was very crowded. A sales woman came up and snatched the glasses I was trying on out of my hand, walked me over to a table and picked up the hand sanitizer and slammed it down on the table told me to use it, then took my temp. I looked around for a minute but left. I understand corp rules but no need to rudely in force them since temp check isn’t always a predictable symptom. As for hand sanitizer you can go into any other store and touch the merchandise without it.

I really enjoyed my experience with Paul he sat and gave me plenty of time to shop for frames and answer any questions I had he made us (me and my mom) feel very welcome! They were super busy while we were there and Paul didnt hesitate or complain to help in any way he could while also getting us taken care of! He went absolutely above and beyond for my mother and I! Considering COVID circumstances they did take everyone’s temperature which I commend them for.Even though they took my insurance there seemed to be a difficultly logging on and finding my benefits but that being said... Paul got through it, helped me with my choices and found me the best deal.I would definitely go there again!Great prices and I am certain that when I pick up my order they will make sure it works for me.I didn’t give them 5 stars only because I spent a little more time there than I wanted but other than that so far I’m pleased with that particular store and thank you Paul.

My friend visit this place because she had problems with her vision. They done two eye exam. She still have a blurry vision. I asked her in Spanish word by word how they conducted the exam. I realized they asked her better or worse it was better but not perfect. The translator said better so the Doctor did not asked again or tried to sharp the vision. The prescription was done and paid in cash no insurance.Several times she have come back trying to get help. Now she is afraid of driving because she seeing blurry. Call to get an appointment with me as her interpreter no luck buck for the next two weeks.

Waited at front door for 10 minutes until someone came to take my temp and check me it. Then the receptionist in optometry department said we will have to reschedule because I was late.Terrible service!Dont recommend, if you want good service. I can only image the care for your eyes they provide.

This was a great experience. I love how the store is very serious about the COVID 19 outbreak and how they take measures to protect each person that enters the store. Upon entering you can see it is very well put together and tidy, and the staff is very knowledgeable. I ask a question and they answer with efficiency and professionalism. I was seen by a male Dr. very young, patient and thorough. He took his time to understand the issues I was having with my eyes, he even corrected my prescription to something I could actually see out of without having my glasses be too strong and having me to continue to suffer with ocular headaches etc. Long story short I could totally see myself returning. I may even bring a few friends along! 😁

Went in today to replace a pair of glasses that I had stepped on and ruined over the weekend. Not only was Mia able to fix my pair that I thought were broken, she walked me through the selection and helped me pick out 2 new pair of glasses as well. Everything was clean and sanitized and safe. Mia was very helpful and while I usually dread the process of picking out and buying new glasses, she made the process so quick and simple. I will be a return customer.

*note: this review is based off an appointment during the Covid-19 pandemic.First, upon entering, my daughter and I had our temperature taken, and were asked the typical health questions. Great start.We waited only a short time before she was seen. They highly suggested getting her eyes dilated, but did not pressure me. The doctor was great at explaining (to my 11 year old) what dilation does. (Any time a health care provider talks to HER about what they are doing, they get points from me).He was thorough with the exam, spoke with her, and very respectful.As far as picking frames...the selection could be better, but, she was still able to find 2 pairs she liked. The process of actually fitting them was non-existent, but maybe that will happen pick them up (or, maybe they try to limit contact in light of the the current situation...I will revise once we pick them up!)Everyone was friendly, helpful, and courteous. They made suggestions, but I never felt pressured.We will definitely return!

While the Dr and staff were very pleasant, they were not able to do the glasses I wanted the way I wanted even though they kept saying it MIGHT be something I like. I decided not to do their glasses and get my old lenses replaced as the frame on my old glasses are still great. Well they said they would call me for pick up, never did, had to call twice just to see if it was ready. Finally was able to pick up and the lady just gave me the glasses, never checked the fit so they were entirely too big. I have a very strong prescription so it’s dangerous for me to drive with my glasses this way so I had to come BACK a 3rd time for a fitting. As I said, everyone is nice but I was definitely not pleased with the experience

Honestly, very overpriced. The exam fee was not bad. But the glasses, even with the 2 for ___ deal, are extremely overpriced. With today’s society moving more towards online shopping, I have done a lot of research and even from very reputable brands like Warby Parker, etc, you can get much higher quality eye glasses for less. I spent over $400 before “coupons” on two pairs of glasses. That is exorbitant. After receiving my glasses, they were bent, loose on one side, and didnt even come with a hard case. I appreciate the exam for my prescription and my associate was extremely kind, but pricing is just too far in left field for me to be back. By the way, many online retailers will now even send you multiple pairs for free, to try on at home, and then send you your updated frames and lenses after you pick it out.

I regret ever stepping foot into this place. I had put off new glasses due to the pandemic but my old prescription was no longer working. A friend suggested Eyeglass World and so I called and inquired about costs and made an appointment based off the information that was provided. Upon arrival it was busy but seemed under control. I checked in and waited about 30 mins to be seen. I will never go back after that exam. The Dr made inappropriate comments about my body and was very handsey. I advise any woman who is considering making appointment to have your significant other or a friend join you due to this reason. Once he was done I sprinted out of there and was told I could look at frames and they would give the team on the other side my prescription, they forgot and after another 30 min wait time I went to ask what was going on and they gave it to me to find someone to help me. Glad I work there and all for me to do their job.At this point I am surrounded by people with no masks, staff who cant figure out how to wear a mask properly and zero social distancing even with the show at the front door. The gentleman who assisted me was very nice but then all these hidden fees kicked in and ended being double what I was quoted. Now Im waiting for them to come in and dreading stepping foot back into there and will have someone with me to ensure any run ins with that Dr do not end in gross comments and attempting to touch me. I wont go back and truly wish they could send my glasses to me directly but thats not an option. I hope they are correct because I want to be done completely with them and not drag it out. So for those who have to practice safety during this pandemic this is not your place, ladies be aware of the creep and there are a ton of hidden fees they will not tell you upon calling and inquiring so do yourselves a favor and try some where else.** Per this review I have had a representative from both companies that in involved with Eyeglass World reach out and they will be handling all of the issues above. I was met with empathy and kindness over the entire ordeal and they refunded me the exam and rushed my second set of glasses for me. The one gentleman that I referred too above who was kind and helpful turned out to be the manager named Paul and I would highly suggest anyone who does go to speak with him in regards to any and all things you would need or feel uncomfortable with. On the side for the optometrist Thomas was very kind and listened. After that he wanted to refund me due to my experience even though I said it wasnt necessary. Neither one made excuses. I can appreciate a business who does that.**Update. I spoke too soon. The promised refund from the optometry side of EyeGlass World never came. I feel it was more of a ploy to ensure I wouldnt seek legal counsel over the matter. Now for the retail side of Eyeglass World the manager Paul got my 2nd pair of glasses to me and was super amazing and would go back to the retail side. I still would never return for an exam or give my money to the optometry side ever again.

Absolutely amazing experience! Everyone here is extremely friendly and helpful. The optometrist took his time to answer any questions I had and to explain everything without hesitation. When picking out frames I could not have asked for a better experience. Kayleigh was phenomenal and took her time to make sure I absolutely loved my frames and took the time to explain what my insurance covers step by step. She was absolutely wonderful and this place is absolutely wonderful. The whole experience could not have gone better. Thank you !!!

I am on vacation here and foolishly wore my glasses too close to the gulf. Bam! So I came to Eyeglass World for help. Venus faxed my eye dr back home for my prescription, helped me make a selection, and I got some new glasses in about 24hr turnaround. Venus saved my vacation!!!

We came here while on vacation to get my broken lenses fixed... they said to be back in 2 days, and we were, glasses all ready to go, except the lady who helped us out on the first time, misunderstood me and made my glasses be sunglasses... I was sooo disappointed tht she didnt double question me, if she didnt know what I meant... when I said I wanted them tinted to go outside, but then I want them to get light in the inside... I dnt no much abt glasses, but wudnt tht be a sign as to what I mean? I didnt no that kind was called transition! I dnt work ther!! Altho we were able to get the real lenses i wanted i had to wait an extra 2 days.. and then our Vacation here in FL was over...

This review is for the optometrist, not the glasses sales. During COVID, I needed a new prescription and glasses. I didn’t want to have to go to a doctor, but did because I had to. Went for an appointment, waited 45 after my appointment time to be seen, and got my prescription. Wore the glasses for 10 days and was still getting dizzy, so I made another appointment. Same thing, it took me 45 minutes to be seen. Not reasonable anytime, especially during a pandemic. The doctors were nice but they need to figure out their appointment schedule. An appointment shouldn’t be a suggestion.

This was my first time ever visiting EGW Sarasota, and I was pleasantly surprised by the entire staff, very cheerful and very helpful.I was coming in for an eye exam and ordering 2 new sets of prescription Oakleys. My 65 pound Dane puppy had her way with them and to be honest they needed to be replaced, so she did me a favor. An expensive one but necessary.First I met with Dr. Porco (sp?), who was extremely pleasant and more importantly extremely thorough. He wasn’t happy with one of the images and had it retaken (no extra expense) I had mentioned I have a “floater” in each eye, and I’ve been told by other drs that the only “solution” was a very bad one and causes more issues than it cures. Dr. Porco advised me of a specialist in Ft Myers who does a speciality laser procedure to eradicate the floaters, he’s one of 3 drs that do the procedure in the US, and this guy trained the other two.So Dr. Porco lead me to this other treatment that no other local dr would refer and it’s been very successful. It obscured my vision but with the only option a bad one, I figured I was hosed.My updated prescription sunglasses came in exactly as promised and for a more competitive price.Oh & the lady who sold me the new sun glasses sold me on the dirt cheap protection plan that if my pup eats my glasses or I damage them, free replacements.In this day of diminishing customer service, EGW of Sarasota did a great job all around!(No, for the record I have no “friends or family” working here, just a happy client)Well done and thank you.

I brought in a really broken pair of glasses and asked if there was anything they could do, they gave me some old stems and made my glasses whole again. Its now my second pair, they recycled another pair that was returned, Im guessing (the replacement stems look like they got chewed on a little by a puppy, and I dont care!). Without this FREE recycled repair these glasses would be in the trash. Im SO HAPPY with eyeglass world, awesome people that work there. HIGHLY recommend.

Get ready to wait and wait and then wait some more. Completely understaffed. I dont mind wearing a mask, getting my temperature taken, or the spray of hand sanitizer. I do mind the customers that dont wear the mask and complain about the temperature and sanitizer. Why dont the employees stop them from entering the store? No mask no service. If a business is going to take temperature and spray sanitizer obviously they care....why not enforce the mask with customers? Please enforce the mask so we can all do our part during these trying times.Thank you

Went in for glasses back in nov. Was talked into getting contacts by Kaley. I paid the difference of about $14 with the understanding insurance was going to cover the rest since I hadn’t used my benefits. I have a prescription of .5 in one eye and nothing in the other, so the contacts had no prescription. Come March, I get 2 bills. One for $33.34 and one for $66.66. The entire amount of the contacts. I couldn’t call or go into the store because the store was closed due to Covid-19. The guy I spoke to looked at the account and said unfortunately there’s nothing I can do since it’s been so long. I JUST got the bill while you were closed and called as soon as I found out you were open. I will be waiting for Crystal’s phone call on Friday. Should this not get resolved I will never use eyeglass world again, nor will my family who also spent a lot of money around the same time I did.

I want to say that my glasses were done well and I really liked the frames, I just didnt like all the hidden fees and the way you are nickeled and dimed out of all that they can get from you.Know this, if you want the anti-scratch plan its $20 for the first pair and $15 for the 2nd, Venus failed to even tell me that, and I paid for it. An extra $35 that I really didnt need to spend.I later went back and wanted to get anti-glare coating on my glasses, and was told initially, by Venus again, that it would only be $80 to coat both pairs, but I wanted to try and see what it was like without it. I came back a week later and yes it was $80, but there was also a surcharge of $10 per pair to do it, again I was never told this. $100 for both pairs.If youre going to get the anti glare, or anything else ask before you buy, and save enough to buy it out right the first time, because youll incur less hidden fees and only have to be tricked once, not twice like me.

Very disorganized. The only reason why I went there was because they say they do same day glasses. I had to go back 3 times just for my appointment. They could find my insurance, then they insisted it was inactive even after by HR dept. Varified it was in fact active. The doctor wrote the wrong prescription and left without even having my try on the new contacts that he radically changed. They tried charging me $79 for the exam even with 100% eye exam insurance coverage. When I questioned them they reduced it $55. All this and they still could not to same day. A waste of time and money. Go anywhere else.

I have been coming here for a long time, every year actually for my contacts. I was 10 mins late and i got turned away. I just want my exam and get my contacts. Im not a new patient, I reschedule but i cant make it because as a health Care worker Im on call and my schedule is never the same. I have tried twice to do a walk in and twice they dont have time. They are always turning people away for a simple eye exam. Either they need more eye doctors there or stop scheduling all together. Im there twice same person turned away twice. I think I have given up being loyal to this place, and its even it of my way. I came here through a friend. This is pointless, always turned away. Dont advertise walk in service. It isnt happening.

I am so disappointed with Eyeglass World. I bought two pair of frames, i am being using both frames and in the Swarovski one the paint is coming out. I am using glasses since i am 20 and never i experimented this situation before. I feel this store is taking advantage of people. I went into the store 7/19/17, right when they opened at 9am. I had broken my glasses a couple of days prior, and needed them quickly. I asked if I could get them same-day, even if they would be transitions & progressives...the answer was yes. The staff was helpful, and even fit me in for my overdue eye exam.After I selected frames, and paid, is when it all went wrong. Was told they would be in within 7 days...told her I was here to get same day glasses. Was told I had to upgrade to next level of progressives if I wanted same day...of course, that was another $50-60. Grudgingly okayed that, THEN she let me know that anti glare coating couldnt be done same day? Who doesnt get anti glare?! I understand that you cant stock every type of lens for progressives, but anti-glare is a coating. Come on!At that point, I lost trust in your process or that I would get exactly what I ordered. Felt like bait/switch. Decided against ordering. Doubt I would go back, or recommend Eyeglass World. Staff was nice, but it turned into a waste of 3 hours of my time.

Most unorganized business I have encountered in a while. Did not call me to let me know the doctor left early when I had a scheduled appointment. Drove 35 mins out of my way to learn this. Did not have my trial contact in stock, had to order it. After a 2 weeks I called in to find out that again, they did not call me to inform me it was in. Went to try them on, they ordered the wrong specs. Ordered glasses a week and a half ago. Currently on hold for 18 minutes so far waiting to find out if they are in. I will never go here again. Going on a month of trying to see out of my eyes.

While service was same day as promised, the help was surly and interrupted several times. When I called to see if glasses were ready Kevin was rude and offered no information. When I picked them up they were basically thrown on the table for me with no offer of adjustment to my face or if prescription was correct. I had the best experience here I needed a pair of progressives made quickly because I was going away and the staff was most accommodating and the person that made the glasses expedited things . The glasses restored my normal vision after a bad injury and I am most grateful to them . Plus the prices were unbelievably fair considering what I was quoted at another place so I cannot recommend the staff and quality at eyeglass world highly enough. if you need glasses or contacts I would go to this place first

I will not be returning! Waited more than an hour just to be seen for my eye exam, even though I had an appointment and was on time. Waited more than 20 mins just to be checked in for my appointment. Ordered 2 pair of glasses at $78, but with your ridiculously expensive lenses, I ended up paying a little over $300 for both. Waited more than 2 weeks for the 2nd pair to be ready, was told I would get a call when they came in...since I never received a call, I decided to call you to check on the status. After being on hold for 10 mins, I was told they were in, he didnt know why I wasnt called though. You HAVE GOT to get better at this. I am a paying, repeat customer and your lack of good customer service has just lost you a very good customer.

Edit: 4/25/19 Eyeglass world reached out to me and is going to honor my warranty. They are sorry for the misunderstanding. Thank you Eyeglass World! I will definitely continue to purchase all my eyewear there and will also refer family and friends.Went in on March 29th during my lunch break to replace my Oakley glasses that were under warranty. After waiting 15 minutes to be helped, I was told that I couldnt replace my glasses that day and I had to come back into the store after Wednesday April 3rd and at that point they could access my account and honor my warranty. Fast forward to Thursday April 18th, I went back to eyeglass world to again replace my Oakley glasses that I thought were still under warranty. After waiting about 15 minutes I was helped by the same employee as on the 29th. She told me that I was just a couple weeks late and unfortunately my insurance only covers a replacement up to 1 year after purchase!?!? That date was April 3rd!? I explained to her my situation.... That I was in store ready to replace my glasses March 29th and was told to come back AFTER APRIL 3RD to honor my warranty! I was told that unfortunately there is nothing that they can do, I just need to purchase a new pair of glasses. I still have glasses that need to be replaced, Im wasnt trying to hurt eyeglass world in any way, I just want them to honor my warranty.TL: DR Trusted an Eyeglass World employees word and left the store after being told to come back after a certain date to replace my glasses, came back after said date, still have broken glasses and now they wont honor my warranty.
