Dr Soto is one in a million but since center for sight bought them, the prices have gone up alot for frames & glasses. Too bad cause sandy in the eye glass department is wonderful. And its going to take away from her. The rich wont mind paying but the small town feel is not there anymore. He is One of the last historic doctor. Thank you Dr Soto for all you do

Dr Soto was extremely thorough in my exam for hard lenses. He explained everything he was doing during the exam. Very communicative and professional!Would highly recommend!

I was not treated correctly. I did not get time to speak to the doctor all that much and go over really the issue I was having. Instead of asking me what was the issue, every test was done before hand. The front desk lady was rude and said inappropriate things about about me while I was sitting in the waiting room to her co workers. This is very unprofessional and she should close her mouth especially about patients. I felt disrespected here.

The staff is friendly and committed to explaining the processes from start to finish, including while in the process of cleaning to Covid policy standards. While I had been warned about Dr Soto’s lack of “bedside manners,“ I saw man who skipped extra chatting for the sake of getting patients serviced and on their way. I personally appreciate it. Their eyewear center personnel was not only welcoming but quick and systematic when suggesting frames. Would easily recommend this office.

My wife and I have been going to Dr. Soto for over twenty five years. We never had such extensive eye exams as he gives. His staff is very professional, and you get great eye care. I would recommend himto anyone needing a good eye doctor.

Dr. Soto and his team are great. They provide full services and have an eyeglass / contacts place right on site. The team is caring and attentive. When I first visited, I was surprised at how extensive my eye exam was. Had never had such an in-depth checkup before. I recommended them to one of my best friends a few years ago and she has a crazy travel schedule. They work with her to get her in for her annual checkup. Great location as well - easy access.

He remains consistent in providing me and my family with thorough eye examinations and wellness care in addition to providing a full range of optical choices. Wow...!!! From beginning to end my entire first visit to Soto Eye Center was amazing. Customer service was courteous and helpful. The gentleman that completed the initial part of my exam was very professional and explained every step of the the exam. To top off the visit was Dr. Sotos patience in taking care to answer all of my questions in regards to his decisions about my eye health. I feel very fortunate to have him part of my overall medical health!

I liked this place. Very efficient and friendly staff. While I was waiting one of the staff members offered to clean my glasses which I took her up on. Dr. Soto showed me the images of my eye and explained what he looks for. He was all business but at the end surprised me with a parting carnation. I think the patient waiting area could be updated, but I wasnt there long due to the efficiency I mentioned.

The service was excellent, the selection of glasses is the most extensive Ive ever seen, and Sandy in particular was most knowledgeable and helpful in making a selection - she was extremely pleasant as well. I couldnt have had a better experience! I would definitely recommend Soto Eye Center to any of my friends or acquaintances. Thank you!

Sandy made my 4.5 yo sons transition into glasses so wonderfully smooth! From our first step into the shop to the adjustment that she made once his glasses were ready, she shared her knowledge, kindness, and positive energy! He loves the frames that she helped us to select. Because of her help, the glasses were quickly ready (less than one week of our learning that he needed them), they fit well and look stylish. He has received so many positive comments and is thrilled to wear them! I am very thankful for Sandys wonderful assistance and her constant smile. I never imagined that his (and my!) transition into glasses would have gone so well. We highly recommend Soto Eye!

I love the professionalism of the whole group at Soto Eye Center. It is extremely easy to make an appointment and if you have to change an appointment, they work with you to meet you needs. The staff is friendly, but still very professional. Dr. Soto is outstanding in his field and I trust him with my eye care needs. He explains the results of all the tests in a language anyone can understand. I would not consider going elsewhere.

We moved to Sarasota a couple of years ago for our retirement. My vision was causing some driving issues so I needed a local optometrist. I searched on line and found Dr. Soto and the recommendations. I have had two visits in Sarasota and find that the appointments are punctual, you are told what to expect, and there is a down to earth explanation of the best course of action to be taken. I had my exam at Soto Eye Center and it was the best experience I had in a long time. Tyler took care of my eyes before I saw Dr. Soto. ( love his accent ). Dr. Soto was very through and explained each step in in exam. Than the staff in the eyeware office were great and help me thru that process. Dr. Soto is very professional, thorough and efficient. In 10 years, all of my appointments have been prompt and on time. He takes the time to explain tests, procedures, and results.I am a type 1 diabetic and need to pay special attention to my eyes. Dr. Soto takes care to look for any adverse effects of the disease.I am a very happy with Soto Health Clinic, doctor and staff, and will continue to keep my eye care in his good hands. In response to the comment below: There was no reason for Dr. Soto NOT to determine that I had a retinal detachment. I voiced all my concerns, told him that theres no way it could have been my contacts because I had been wearing this new prescription for weeks, I told him I was seeing flashing lights and blurred lines in one eye only. Any competent doctor, would run the proper tests and figure out the root cause of my symptoms. It should not have even come to the point of him having to call me after I had left the office. If he had he called me a few hours too late, I would have lost my vision. So what if this occurred in 2014? It happened and I wish I wouldve written this review sooner. He misdiagnosed me after I came to him complaining that I had blurred vision, out of no where. He said it was most likely my contacts since I had a new prescription, and that was it. Turns out I had a RETINAL DETACHMENT, and if i had not consulted with my friend who is a doctor, I would probably be blind today. She urged I go to the ER that day and I was scheduled for emergency surgery the next day. Not to mention he is rude and cold. He says the same rehearsed things every visit. Not a very welcoming environment. Would not recommend him at all and would give 0 stars if I could.

I had an exceptionally great experience at Soto Eye. The staff was super friendly and helpful. Dr. Soto was very thorough and explained everything in a way that no one ever had before in an eye exam. I would recommend this office to anyone.

I made my appointment a month in advance and the same day when I arrive at the clinic they tell me that they no longer accept my medical insurance. They could call me and let me know and not wait for me to go the same day to tell me. Very bad work on your part a total disappointment 😕

For over 30 years I have trusted Soto Eye Clinic with all matters concerning my eyes--regular check-ups, glasses, frames, and follow up care. Not just Dr. Soto, but the rest of the staff are knowledgeable, efficient, and friendly. One particular service I appreciate is that if my glasses need a minor adjustment between appointments, I can stop in and have that taken care of by his assistants promptly, at no charge, as long as nothing is broken.

Very disappointed, 2 month waiting period for appointment. My husband calls and receives another appointment in 2 weeks! Then when we go into appointment the front desk has given the appointment away!Smarty pants girl at front desk who disrespected senior citizens on social security. Since I moved back to Sarasota in 2002, I saw 12 different eye doctors. Every year I would look for a new one because I was never satisfied that I had found the doctor I could trust with my eye health. I hope that if you are reading this review, it will save you the trouble of having to go through the trial and error phase that I went through. I am happy to report that this is my second annual eye exam with Dr. Soto and I have finally found my permanent eye doctor. He and his staff perform the most thorough annual eye exam I have ever had and in addition to all the eye tests, they also check my blood pressure. The last eye doctor I went to did not think that eye vitamins would help prevention. Both my parents have macular degeneration, so I take my eye health very seriously. As a result, I have been taking eye vitamins as a preventative measure since this is what both my parents eye specialists recommend. Dr. Soto has the foresight to carry the best line of eye vitamins in his office for less than what you can purchase them online directly from the manufacturer. This further confirmed that I had made the right choice. At the end of appointment, Dr. Soto personally gives you a carnation. What a nice and thoughtful gesture.
