They are not intimidating at all and do not push specific guns over others or make you feel like they are insulting your choice if it doesnt match their personal preference. I was very impressed with their professionalism and the enjoyment everyone working there seems to have.They are true enthusiasts and are one of few places where everyone understands its the customers preference, not theirs, that is most important.They have a more welcoming feel than big box gun stores and they will go the extra mile to get just about anything you are looking for if they dont already have it. The people here are friendly, helpful, and accommodating and the prices are very affordable and as low as I have seen anywhere. In their selection of new and used guns, I found an amazing handgun at an amazing price and got an equally amazingly priced set of custom engraved hand grips. They were able to take the design I wanted and make it work on the grips they already had in hand, and I was able to leave with them same day!

Took the concealed weapons license class with Nate. He was very informative, and interactive. I had never held a gun, let alone shot one before this class, and Nate made me feel at ease when it was time to shoot a firearm.There is a young man (a veteran), who is extremely knowledgeable about firearms, but more importantly, how to choose one that is best for you.*Highly recommend speaking to him if you havent had much experience like me.We will be back!

If you want a good price and to be treated like a complete nuisance, this is your gun shop. While they have a good selection and pricing, they also have a me-first-attitude. This business is not here to serve the shooting needs of the community. Their phone skills are primitive. If they dont know the answer, they just go silent or send you elsewhere. They dont apologize and go get it. They tell you to call them back when someone else will be there. They dont volunteer to call you back. They take no ownership of your problem on your first call to them. In other words, unlike Shoot Straight, they are just here to sell services and stuff; they are not here to serve in a holistic fashion.

I spoke with the owner about trading my sig 228. He looked at my 228 and said that the best he can do would be $250 and that he would only make about $50 to $100 on it.So I asked him if that the best he could do and he said yes. So I traded my 228 and bought a sig 365. So I thought he was a nice guy.Three days later I see my 228 for sale for $599.99. Well I thought that this would be the gun shop that l would be doing my business with. Well he is a he not an honest man and a liar. Well the joke is on him in my club we have 27 member and out of the 27 members 8 was going to buy the sig 365. We are going elsewhere. I live in Sarasota and I have been to countless firearm dealers in the area. They have a great selection of weapons and accessories and were more than happy to assist me while I was there. The owner even took the time to explain what was the best cleaner for my Glock 43 and offered to help me tear down and clean the weapon for free. Ive read other reviews on here and I wonder if some of their so called competition is trying to make them look bad. If a person does not even leave their name on any review then its not valid in my opinion. I am a local Google-Reviewer with a great rating and these people are top notch!!

If you want to get your concealed carry permit with expert instruction this is the place to go.Friendly personnel.They also have CC classes for women only.There is but one very small firing Lane used for the shooting part of the CC class or for trying out one of the firearms purchased or repaired on premise.Most items for sale at Aegis are marked up high but you have the convenience of a store closest to Lakewood Ranch.

Strange, I had been a good customer, but my Corvette Z06 must have made them think I don’t care about money. I took my concealed weapon permit class at Aegis. I thought the class was going to be long and boring, but it was very informative and I learned a lot. The instructors were very knowledgeable and they made me feel very comfortable when it was time to shoot. I would HIGHLY recommend Aegis to anyone.

This shoppe opened 5 weeks ago in Sarasota and I am so happy I stumbled onto them. The shop is beautiful, I was greeted within 3 steps of walking thru the doors and the staff is so friendly and accommodating.Their prices on their weapons are very very competitive and I do enjoy knives and they have the largest selection I have seen in Sarasota. Theres little bit of everything to choose from and I throughly enjoyed doing business with them.I dont understand the 3-star rating someone gave them on their ammo prices. There are very competitive and Im sure someone looks hard enough, they could find it less expensive online but then you dont get the personalized service.I would suggest if your looking for any type of weapon, consider going and seeing these people. Im sure youll have a great experience as I did.

My First gun purchase and it couldnt have went any smoother!!! A gentleman by the name of Thomas helped me on October 27, 2016 while I was inquiring about purchasing a handgun. He was very thorough in explaining all about each gun and the likes and dislikes from different point of views. He was patient with me is the first thing I want to state. I am a very indecisive person when choosing things, and with all the knowledge I learned from Tom explaining things made my purchase choice very easy. The PPQ M2!!!! Beautiful gun at a affordable price too! Next, I noticed that the shop was very clean and well kept! Everything was easily identifiable when walking around browsing through all my choices. As I walked around to browse the shelves I couldnt help but notice multiple walking through the door and phone calls ringing. I was terrified of guns. I decided it was time that I conquered this fear. My first step was to visit Aegis Tactical. When I arrived everyone was so outgoing, friendly, knowledgeable and I left with much less fear and a little more excitement. I signed up for a private lesson and the CCW class with Kevin and could not be happier. Kevin is a fantastic instructor. He is so knowledgeable and patient. His teaching skills went beyond learning about firearms and the laws. I walked out of the classroom with a completely different mindset. Kevins teaching skills gave me the confidence I needed to completely conquer my fear and I was able to hit five bullseyes the first time I shot a gun after my class. Thank you so much to everyone at Aegis Tactical. This is definitely my new hobby and I couldnt love it more. I will be recommending Aegis Tactical to everyone I know!

I cant speak highly enough about Joe, Mike, and the rest of the team at Aegis Tactical. I originally came to Aegis for some minor gunsmithing and was very pleased with the service I received the moment I walked through the door. Typically I get blown off as I walk into most gun shops, so it was a pleasant surprise to receive such a warm welcome. The prices are reasonable and theyre not out to price gouge their customers. They genuinely want all their clients to shoot and to have fun shooting. It also helps they do have a steady supply of ammo come through the store.Beyond the retail store, their training clinics and one-on-one instruction is absolutely top notch. Ive only recently gotten into guns in the last year or two and didnt spend enough or adequate time practicing, so I decided to get one-on-one lessons. I ended up doing three lessons over 4 weeks and even Im shocked at how much I improved. Its probably one of the best investments in myself that I have made.I just attended one of their shooting clinics at Manatee Gun Club, where I got to work on a lot of things I cant do at home or at the local indoor ranges. The helped me get more comfortable handling my firearm the way I would in a real life situation, such as holstering, drawing, changing mags, and shooting and moving. It was a great learning experience, but more importantly they always put safety and fundamentals first. Also it was a ton of fun and I met some great people out there as well. I cant wait to attend their next shooting clinic.So at the risk of sounding like a super fan boy, Aegis Tactical is awesome and pretty much cover all my firearms needs from equipment to gunsmithing to training.

I came in here after years of being a regular to order a back-up mag for my Sig, the girl behind the counter ordered me the wrong one, when I came into to pick up I informed her she had ordered the wrong one since I requested 7rd not a 6rd for my 238 and she copped an attitude with me saying it was my fault because I told her the wrong one. Apparently she was too busy with snapchat to pay attention to what she was doing. Rude and stuck up girl like that has no business speaking to customers, have no idea how this place stays in business with the 12 gun selection they have, lol. Take Aim or Shoot Straight are far better places to go, and the staff Actually knows what they are talking about. Oh and you can shoot there too. Good luck with this dive!

I highly recommend this company for training. The all ladies class of 14 with all ages of women was great. Their was a women instructor that related learning for women. Great kob of teaching.

I found them to be less than helpful. Called and spoke with a young man named Tom on the morning of 10/27/16. Ordered both a Marlin 795 .22 and a Nikon rimfire scope for the Marlin from their website. Took almost two weeks to get my items in store, and I had to contact them to find out they had arrived. When I went to pick them up the scope had not been mounted to the rifle as I had been promised prior to purchasing. When I enquired as to why, their reasoning was no 1 inch rings for mounting. When asked when the rings will be available, I was told sometime in the near future, as they are usually tossed in with other shipments. Basically saying we dont have a clue.... I called this morning and spoke with Tom again inquiring about the rings, was promised a call back, never received one. I guess my $300 order wasnt important enough to warrant a callback even to say theyre not available yet. Sad part is I was so excited to have a local gun/tactical instruction shop, but I just dont think I would shop there again. Employees are nice enough, but lack customer service skills and follow through. Ive now ordered the items to do it myself from Amazon.Update.Thirty minutes after my review posted I received a phone call from the owner of this shop. She apologized for her employees not calling me back, and also explained the hold up for the rifle taking two weeks to come in and the scope not being mounted. She offered to make it right and requested that I come in for some free ammo. She couldnt have handled it any better. I appreciated the call. Thanks.

Great store with very competitive prices. I came in because I needed to buy some lower parts for a new ar build and the guy helped me out with what I needed. A lot of the prices for the parts that I bought were either lower or about the same as other stores or online. I like to bargain and this is definitely a great store with great quality materials at great prices.

Just moved here from NY, I checked out several gun shops and came across Aegis, I went for my CCW class here with them and found them to be very knowledgeable. I came back after I got my paperwork back and CCW to purchase my carry, I had no idea what I wanted, they spent unlimited time with me explaining every compact available. Very good pricing on both the ammo and guns and accessories. They also have a gunsmith in the store. A must to stop by and say HI.

I went in to Aegis on Sunday to see why my g19 was failing to eject. The employee told me it was a bad extractor and they could fix it Thursday. Called Thursday morning and talked to the owner, they had to order my extractor and i would have to wait another week. The next Thursday i drive in to pick my g19 up. I gwt in my vehicle and load my weapon and the extractor is stuck open and i go back in and the gunsmith argues with me about it. They agree to look at it after showing them a video of it failing and Russell the gunsmith puts a used plunger in and goes to test it again which failed again so they said the Glock needs all new internals. So i paid $70.00 for a gun not to be fixed and Aegis to loose my holster in the two week process.

AEGIS is the best gun store I’ve ever been to in terms of quality of products and prices on trade-ins. Sometimes the staff can be a little abrasive but admittedly I ask some stupid question so it’s understandable overall five out of five I took my concealed carry class here and I recommend it to everybody.

So I spent the day at a Situational awareness workshop Aegis Tactical. I have to say this was not what I thought it would be. I figured it would be a lecture type workshop but I was wrong. This was a drill / senecio hands on workshop including putting a few rounds down range with REAL law enforcement officers as instructors. I truly enjoyed myself and got a few good nuggets from this workshop. 4hrs and I left wanting a 2nd phase. I recognized a few things I need to work on and was happy with my shooting drills as I had not shot in awhile. Thank you Jaci Krawtschenko and Joe Krawtschenko for making this event available.

Took the basic firearms class for getting the concealed weapons license with Nate. He taught the class with a sense of humor, common sense, and real life examples as a former LEO. The shooting range seems small especially for a class. It is different to find a gun shop in a strip shopping center building.

Easily this best shop in the area. I have bought many guns here, transfered guns here, had guns shipped here, taken classes, and had gun smithing done here, as well. Always a pleasure to deal with the folks at Aegis. I am an avid shooter, former military, and local business man. I have dealt with numerous ships all over the area and I can say with confidence that this shop is excellent. I sent the wife here for CCW classes, too. Nothing but good things to say, this is a top notch local gun shop who fully understands the current firearms universe. Joe runs a fantastic team, I will be back for all my gun business.

Piss poor over the phone customer service. Whoever the lady is that answers the phone needs a refresher course on how to deal with customers to actually invite them into thw building to pay good money. So disappointed by my 5 minute coversation with this womam that not only did i choose another place to go, but i will never spend my money there at all. And its sad because she probably the only bad fruit in this company but the rest of the place doesnt evem get a chance.

The best firearm safety, beginner and advanced classes in a 50 mile radius.... period!

Aegis Tactical had less than professional training. The instructor was offensive and condescending (use of crass and crude language and inflammatory comments). They had no written materials, guidelines, or laws (to pass out to students) which one would have expected from an NRA certified training course. I was very dissatisfied and would recommend going elsewhere.

Our instructor had many years in law enforcement service in different states, police academy trainer experience, and a personality. People have to keep your attention to teach you something otherwise its in one ear, out the other. Good Class.STAFF/INVENTORY/SERVICEThese guys are just down to talk guns. No matter how long you have been shooting/carrying/exposed to firearms you can always learn something more from talking to fellow shooters and these guys dont blow smoke. Weve all been at gun shops where after they hand you the third firearm the sales pitches start getting lathered on thick. These guys dont play that game. I must of handled 80% of their inventory (gotta love slow weeks at work).Aegis has the inventory you are looking for. They have a selected amount of their selection online and is updated within minutes of sales so you know if its online, its in the store. My purchase was taken offline as I was picking up a new holster for it. I appreciate that because sometimes you just know what you want to go in to look at and want to know if it will be there.**AMMO:.22 - Yep.380 - yepall the regular stuff - you betcha**Seems to be a rare practice but Aegis is not gouging us for ammo either (Nice perk I thought).SIDE NOTE:After doing a ton of scouting trying to find the cheapest price on a new Glock 42 online and elsewhere not only was Aegis cheaper than online so I went to buy it, but get this:Before ringing me up the owner called another shop to see what there price was just to make sure that he was giving me the best price there was. So my husband went to a shop to get me a sticky holster for my Glock and ask if they could look at the front sight to see if i had it tight enough..They guy tried to wiggle it and says its tight enough I have a class to get too..My husband came home and said I will never go back there again he acted like I was a bother to him and didnt have the time for me..We should of drove the 45 mins south to go where we always go..But we are leaving for vacation and didnt have the time..And formally apologize to Shark Coast Tactical for not taking the time to see them..

They also have basics classes for the newbie shooter, law enforcement and and security training, unarmed defensive classes, one on one training, etc... ALL classes qualify you for your Concealed Weapons License!One of the best assets of this company are the people that work there. All of the instructors have professional backgrounds in firearms. They truly believe in helping you defend yourself and your loved ones and it shows!Aegis Tactical also has you covered when it comes to repairing or customizing your firearm as they have a gunsmith onsite!Cannot recommend these guys enough! :)
