My family enjoyed it. My kids are teens and the liquid nitrogen thing wasnt super interesting to us, but the ice cream was really good which was our reason for being there. Its been a week or so since we went but I dont remember the price being too unexpected like others note. Seemed fine to me at the time.
If you are dairy free (even gluten free) then this is your place. So many options, all customizable. The only reason I dont give it 5 stars is the price. Stupid expensive. Its doable for a couple. But borderline prohibitive for a family. Regardless, you cant go wrong and the cashew milk ice cream is amazing.
The employees were very nice and helpful! But this place is way overpriced. The ice cream has a really weird texture and melts a minute after you get it. Most of it was dripping out of the cone right away. I got a waffle cone that was almost raw and the ice cream I ordered was a lot different and less appealing than shown in the picture. But still, shoutout to the friendly ladies working at the front and their fast service.
This place takes WAY TOO LONG to stand in line for taking an order. Me and my family were standing in line for 45 minutes and to be honest the ice cream was not worth it. Sure it was ok, but I’ve been to better ice cream places. When you order the shakes, in the picture it shows this large cup but when you get it, it is this tiny little cup and again, the drinks were not worth it. I seen better.I give this rating a 2 star. Not as much recommended.
It’s really sad that a $9 milkshake is basically just a milky Lukewarm drink, a speciality shake which missed the key toppings that made it “specialty”. I was honestly confused because I expected a cold, thick shake. But it was just flavored milk. Quite disappointed especially when I spent $20 on two drinks that were the size of my hand.
Absolutely love this place! We came in at 1pm on a Saturday and had no wait. The employees were very helpful. I wish we lived closer so we could come more frequently!
I took my lady here for a date and we absolutely loved the quality of our ice cream. Double Oreo two scoop was so good and the whole experience is nice to watch them make your ice cream. The wait time is very long though, would recommend finding new ways to speed up the process
The ice cream was good, the ladies working were friendly, but the wait was atrocious. Everything was out of order and while we waited, the couple that came after us got their order first, despite the other people waiting who ordered before we came in. One guy came up and asked them when they would get the fruity pebbles order. The gal said she’d do it right now. Then called them and gave them too smalls. They guy said it wasn’t what they ordered. It was remade as two larges. The one guy was upset and said one was supposed to be a milkshake. It was again remade. Those poor guys, they waited at least 30 mins. Then my husband got his, but it was missing whipped cream and the biscoff cookie. Then we waited some more. The family who were two parties after us started to get their order, though their Speculoos Overload order looked very different than my husbands. I asked about mine, the gal checked and said the ticket was lost. She asked what I got and remade it. The employees were very kind. If the process could be reworked to be more efficient, Creamistry could be so much better. We waited about 25 mins for my order to be ready.Oh, and the sizes are smaller than the last time I came. The small is now the kids size and the large is medium.
Meh. Didnt really have a good experience. Yes the ice cream tasted good, but prices are high for the amount of ice cream you get. Plus my nitrogen blasted ice cream didnt last the trip back to where I was staying about 5 minutes away. It was melted by the time I got there. Not sure if its supposed to be eaten right away, but I was able to drink it.
Place was dirty, workers did not acknowledge us and it takes a while for you to receive your order. We waited in line for about 10 minutes, finally got our order taken then it took another 15 minutes for our 3 orders to be made. This is a great idea and tasted good, but I think there definitely should be more than 2 employees working on a Sunday.I could tell the young ladies working were overwhelmed as they were taking orders then immediately making the orders.
Great place for kids they love watching the process of the ice cream being made. The store is a horrible mess though. I dont think they have cleaned yet today. Delicious ice cream, however I cant get past the mess that is EVERYWHERE in the shop. Sorry guys, sticky tables and unclean work areas are just not my thing
You get to pick your Icecream base then add in your flavors. So basically building your own icecream! Perfect for me since I’m lactose Intolerant.
A unique take on liquid nitrogen ice cream
Legitimately the worst Ice cream experience of my life. They were apparently “out of spoons” 1 hour before closing so I was encouraged to purchase a $3.50 waffle cone and didn’t receive anything close to a waffle cone. The cone completely crumbled and caused my ice cream to fall of the ground. I went in and shared my experience with the worker said oh sorry to hear that we had a problem with our suppliers and then said what’d you want a refund? It wasn’t worth my time to accept such a worthless response. Clearly, he did not care. Will never be back also the ice was sub par.
This place makes your icecream made to order! Delicious rich cream. Be prepared to wait though there were alot of customers 13 i counted we waited at dirty tables for like 15 minutes.
This is so cool! Must see
These kids work their tales off to make all the ice cream. The ice cream on-demand is a cool concept but the efficiency needs some Perfecting. The wait is terribly long. Ice cream was good tho.
This was my first time at this place and I won’t be going back purely on the lack of customer service. I was totally ignored when I walked in I was standing at the front of the counter. Then a group of people walked in and right away she greeted them and proceeded to try to take their order even tho I had been there. Seeing as I was the only brown skinned person in the store I felt attacked I will never be coming back. I don’t not recommend.I would put a zero rating if I could and I haven’t even received my order yet.
A good cup of ice cream. Interesting process. A little pricey but worth a visit to be sure.
Love coming here on date night after dinner. Management and the team are always super nice and welcoming. My favorite spot in town :)
Seems like 1 person working on a Saturday is bad ownership. Poor girl behind the counter is getting overloaded. Cool concept but business seems like it’s being led in the wrong direction.
Fun concept of freezing the ice Cream with liquid nitrogen. The result is very creamy and delicious. The only thing I would have changed was the worker interaction, they took our order and then barely looked in our direction. In my opinion it would have been nice if they would have chatted with the customers or looked halfway happy. Maybe it had been a long night, it is definitely a place to visit again.
We didnt realize this was a liquid nitrogen place, where they use liquid nitrogen to freeze the ice cream in front of you. Because of this, and the fact that there was only one person working, it took forever. It was expensive and the ice cream was just okay. Not worth. Go somewhere where they just already have the ice cream made.
Visited there 3/9/21. If what theyre making is supposed to ice cream theyre really missing the boat. Theyre wizardry of mixing a dairy dairy based product with liquid nitrogen looks special but the final product is terrible. The frozen junk was pasty/gummy and had no texture resembling good ice cream. No one in our group of five finished their small $6.50 cup including my 10 year old granddaughter. Will never return.
Best home made ice cream
Friendly and helpful staff. I absolutely love watching the process and the texture!!
Was really disappointed. 8 months pregnant and i placed an order online while I waited outside. They ran out of regular milk to make the ice cream but still serviced others that placed orders after mines... Normally their ice cream is amazing but i was disappointed this time around. I didnt even get to eat ice cream that night
Ive been going to Creamistry every once in a while for a few years now. It always tastes great, a bit expensive, but with the large portion sizes it was well worth it. I visited today for the first time in a few months, my girlfriend got a regular and I got a large, the prices were the same as before, but when we got them the portions had drastically decreased. My girlfriend got what seemed to be a kids size and I got half of what we used to get. The ice cream was good, as always, but no longer worth the price now that we were paying the same amount for half of the product.
This is a great place. Its fun to watch and it tastes great! The staff was fantastic. I loved the whole experience. Darryl was very informative and entertaining
Good flavors and very smooth.
Very clean and in a great neighborhood. Tasted perfect
This review is based purely on this locations complete lack of cleanliness. In addition to being out of toilet paper, the restroom had no trash can available so people were throwing paper towels all over the floor. I politely let one of the staff know the situation, because I understand things can get messy when a restaurant is busy. She told me she would refill the toilet paper, but the trash cans were in the hallway because it was the end of the night. First off, this is against health code. If a woman is on her period would you like her to place her tampon on the floor or carry it out in her hands to your trash can in the hallway? Second, we were there two hours before closing, you have no excuse to not have proper waste disposal available. You are not closing down for the night and still have multiple customers coming in and out. Honestly they should be reported to the health department.
If I was the owner. I’d be looking for private equity money to keep this business afloat. We have been waiting in line for 45minutes, only two employees working, and many people left due to insane wait for a simple dessert. There’s no incentive for a minimum wage employee to make nitrogen ice-cream quickly. This is a failed business model and will be a failed business soon. My recommendation is to get ice-cream elsewhere.
The kids that were working the best they could. Portion size and price is kind of a rip off but a cool place with a decent menu
We came as an experience and Daryl did not disappoint! The ice cream was delicious and so fun to see it made with liquid nitrogen.
Best ice-cream Ive ever had. Super creamy. Salted Carmel was the best. A little expensive but a real treat.
Delicious ice cream bar and gotta say the staff are polite. Get the mint chocolate one its bomb
First time customers and they were out if vanilla bean, out of whipped cream and out of Water bottles.Thats really sad to be out of the basics .
TOO EXPENSIVE! We ordered 2, single scoop items and it came to over $17 plus you add a tip and was $20, We waited over 30 minutes to get our order! I will NEVER go there again!!
Yummy flavors and combinations. Fun to watch them make your treat from scratch.
They forgot my order I was waiting like 20 minutes before I finally got mine and they didnt comp me a larger size for their mistake.
$45 for 4 cups of ice cream and it was over churned so icy not smooth
They make the ice cream in front of you
Talk about a cool ice cream spot!
Arrived at the location at 9:30pm only to find the front door locked with a employee sweeping inside right by the door ignoring me trying to come inside to make a purchase. I dont know how any business can try and keep customers from entering a location during business hours.
Best affogoto Ive tried by far!
Very expensive for very small portions. Ice cream does not have any flavor.
The Creamistry had delicious, creamy ice cream. The customer service, however, was terrible! We went there two nights in a row. The first night, a person in our party had their order forgotten for 25 minutes. When we asked for compensation, they laughed.Because of the good ice cream (and a 10% off coupon on the receipt), we decided to return the next night. It was mostly okay, until a different person had their order forgotten AGAIN and the their order was then made incorrectly. Then, when it was remade, it was remade it the same incorrect way! Eventually, they got it right. The Creamistry does have fantastic ice cream, but offers terrible service to its customers. I will not return, due to the frustration I experienced.
My visit here was absolutely horrendous. We started off by ordering our ice cream and even though we were having difficulty with the menu the cashier did not offer to help. Then came the wait line which took over 40 minutes. As our first ice cream came out, you could see that there was little effort put in to making it appear good. Each ice cream was a different size even though they all were in the same cup size! As someone in my group ate the first ice cream, we were all stuck waiting for ours as other people that were in line behind us at the cash received theirs first. Once 20 minutes went by and none of our ice creams had come out yet, we decided that we were going to go up to the counter and ask for a refund. You could see the employees not caring about the ice cream and making jokes with each other while there was a huge line of people waiting for their dessert. When we got to the counter, the manager told us that the system was down and we would have to wait to get our refund until the iPads recharged. While we were waiting, I saw one of the employees use her phone in the back room to take a picture of the manager working on getting the systems working again while laughing with another one of the workers. Then she proceeded to come out of the back and ask the manager if she could have a phone break with her friend while the chaos was happening. I felt very bad for the manager and give major props to him for keeping his cool during the situation but our experience was very bad and we will not be going back there again. If you are reading this review to see if you should go here or not, I would definitely not go and and instead go to sweet republic which has amazing ice cream and is worth the small drive to get there.
Glad it reopened, more on the expensive side & the process of finding out if its your order is very haphazard or I should say theres no process.
Absolutely love the ice cream, this place is extremely amazing in that aspect. However, out of the 5-6 times weve come to this location 3 times they were completely out of mix, or out of bowls because they werent keeping up on the dishes. Overall the service is very unfriendly, too, so take it with a grain of salt. Ice cream is very smooth and good but either expect terrible service or the place is randomly closed.
Ice cream is always fresh and delicious. Good size portions and fun for the whole family.
This place is amazing. Cool to watch them make it and even better time enjoying. A little pricey but worth it every now and then.
I have a mixed feeling here, when it is good it is good. The line and time to get ice cream is about 20 minutes. I saw them turn away hundreds of people since they were short handed, turned completely away, not please come back later, just no ice cream.
Super cool concept for a ice cream place! If youve never been here, then Ill explain. They are a make your own ice cream place. You pick everything from the milk in the name to the fudge on top. They freeze the ice cream in front of you. I likes the ability to have a dairy free option for my ice cream as well as ample flavor choices. My only knock is the process is time consuming, so if there is a line, there can be quite a wait. Overall though, great ice cream and cool concept.
They close at 11pm but because ppl lazy they decide to kick people out at 10:30 due to covid because 30 minutes late at night makes a difference with COVID :) Great service!!!
This spot is unique to review, because for the most part the customer is in charge what they are going to taste. Your final ice cream is completely custom to your taste, so if you create something nasty.. its your own fault. With that said, Ive always enjoyed what Ive had there. My only criticism is that they arent too efficient. I understand that making custom ice creams is more time consuming than a traditional scoop shop, but Ive had times where Ive waited for 25 minutes with only 7-8 people in front of me.
They make fresh ice cream right there in the shop in front of you using liquid nitrogen. Very interesting experience. The Ice creams are also very creamy and delicious. Must have experience.
Pretty cool. I mean they make your ice cream FRESH on the spot... Cool technique..
Really good frozen treat, nothing super special that causes me to return. Really expensive for the value of the product served here.
It’s great ice cream and a fun experience. At our last visit it took over 35 minutes to get our ice cream! That sucked. The ice cream was great once we got it, but that’s a long wait for kids!
It was fun! A great date idea. For a warm day amd a cold one
Came in on a Saturday night and waited 30 min the manager literally sat on her cell phone the entire time while her staff tried keep to keep up. Despite having four machines they ran only 1 at time which is what made the line to order 30 min. Once I got to the front of the line they told are us they are out of vanilla and strawberries. Pretty fundamental for an ice cream place. We substituted something else. When we got the order it was completely wrong. Just an absolutely miserable experience totally not worth the time. Feel super bad for the girl making the ice cream as shes literally a one-man team do to the lack of support.
Looks like a great spot from outside, however one regular ice cream is over $10. You order at the computer and then wait...and wait and wait again. Took 17 minutes after ordering to get the ice cream and the result, better off going somewhere else. Very disappointing I will not be a return customer.
First time here and Ill be back. I went with a couple of Co-workers cause we were craving ice cream. We all had Nutella flavored ice cream and it was amazing. They werent busy when we showed up, but we were the start of a mini rush. Its near watching them make the ice cream and its extremely tasty!!!I will have to get a photo the next time Im there, but I certainly recommend giving it a try?
We were lucky and got there when there wasn’t a line. We could see a line forming behind us shortly after. We’ve also tried Sub-Zero and we like this place a lot better. My daughter ordered a chocolate kiddie scoop with marshmallows. She’s a light eater so the serving size was perfect. I’m sure some people will say their serving is towards skimpy. I can’t say it is pricey since it is much better than other ice cream shops.
It doesnt matter when and how the ice cream is made. What matter is the texture and taste. And both are far from being anything to at the minimum level needed. It is just another chain and they all taste the same.
Good ice cream. Its fun for the kids and first timers to see the smoke from the liquid nitrogen. On a Wednesday night, only having two of the four stations going which is a good thing because they only had one person mixing the toppings. Its is almost like they want the consumer to wait extended periods of time only to be delivered ice cream that has melted because it was frozen fifteen minutes before the toppings could be finished.Of the three I have been to in the valley, this is by far the slowest employees or the more poorly managed, it is definitely not the busiest.
Generally I enjoy creamistry, however my most recent experiences have left a sour taste in my mouth. Today they were out of several items I tried to order, then when I asked to switch out one ingredient as a result of that, they said I’d have to pay extra. So I did. Then, they are consistently understaffed. The two employees working were pretty obviously agitated and unfriendly. They were running around trying to make ice cream for over a dozen people and work the register, which left no one to clean up the lobby area. The floors were sticky and dirty, every table was dirty. Finally, my ice cream was supposed to have fresh strawberries, but they used frozen berries with the sugary syrup. I’m wondering if they’ve done away with fresh fruits because they also said they were out of blueberries, which are listed on the menu. Hopefully that is not the case, because for nine bucks a pop, I’d assume they could ensure the use of fresh ingredients.
Got very busy, and they handled it really amazing! They made all our orders and were glvery friendly. I would definitely recommend if you are in the Scottsdale Quarter area. There isnt a ton of parking on the street, so I would park in the parking structure that is close to Creamistry.
This treat is absolutely delicious but overpriced. It’s also very satisfying because it’s quite rich, so I usually get a small/kids size. The Fruity Pebbles flavour is my go-to!
I waited 30 minutes for my ice cream the night of Nov 9th 2019. Not a big deal. When I politely asked if it was ready, a girl that was just standing around rudely said no they haven’t started it yet. I told her no biggie I don’t mind waiting a bit longer, and she said they are too busy to make the three ice cream bowls. I asked if there was a manager I could talk to because that doesn’t seem right, and she said “I am your manager and the current manager and I have the right to refuse you service. if you don’t leave I can call the police” and raised her voice causing a scene. In what world is this an acceptable way to treat customers?
Always excellent ice cream and a fun experience for the kids. Great selection on the menu and even with a big crowd they kept the line moving.
Yummy, fun experience. Pricey but I understand because its a lot of work
Very cool place! love the way the make the ice cream and was very tasty!
Absolutely phenomenal!!! Dairy free and vegan options that you just cant get anywhere else!!! So thick and creamy (and dont be scared of by the coconut base for non-dairy option if you dont like coconut. The coconut flavor doesnt come through). Definitely going again!!!
Good ice cream. Interesting concept. First time Ive been there. Not sure it was worth the cost.
Love this place, so much fun! Spotlessly clean, service is a process; takes a few minutes but BY FAR the best ice cream you will ever eat! Friendly manager and crew 👍
The ice cream is very delicious. However recently they rolled out a new ruby flavoured ice cream that is advertised all over the shop, and I have gone two Saturdays in a row and they are still out of it. Maybe take down the signage?? It’s a hassle to wait in line for 25 minutes to order something that you are out of and have to decide on something else at the cash. Place is also hectic and messy.
Loved the place and staff are very friendly. As they are making icecream instantly using the liquid nitrogen in front of us which is a unique experience.I ordered the milkshake which turns out amazing perfect for this hot summer afternoons. But, the wait time i bit more compared to other icecream parlors. For that i rated 4 stars otherwise it would be 5 stars.
Terrible- don’t waste your time. Waited in line for 15 minutes only to be told that they were out of dairy. Not a person working here who looked over the age of 22 and the lack of management and customer service showed. Never coming back and don’t recommend you waste your time.
