Very good dairy free and vegan options. The person taking my order also asked me if I needed the milkshake machine cleaned out before she made my dairy free milkshake, which was very nice because this would be important for those with dairy allergies. It is a bit expensive, my 16 oz dairy free milkshake was $8.

This was their “shake”..... definitely just soft serve in a cup. Imagine trying to drink that through a straw. The ice cream had a strange texture. Taste was lack luster. Very expensive for what it was.

Great ice cream if you are looking for soft serve. We don’t usually go for soft serve but we’re drawn to this place because we love organic all natural things. This place did not disappoint the kids each got their own kids come. They even had a dairy free option for my one dairy intolerant child. Highly recommend this place if you are in the old town Scottsdale area!

Horrible. None of us in our party get this place. $6.00 for. Bone-in where you apparently have to pay even more for the blend in item.Not digging paying over $27.50 for 3 small shakes.They were very tasteless. Save your coin and get better Product from DQ.

Cute spot, less than satisfactory service tho. Small drinks, Starbucks prices, if not higher. Chai latte was just water with some foam. And the girls working there just seemed annoyed with my existence. Now I feel bad :(But that’s just for hot drinks. I can’t speak on the ice cream or anything else.

Good ice cream with a lot of options! Its a little bit expensive but their mix ins are way better than getting a blizzard at dairy queen. I also really enjoy the twist soft serve. We dont go super often but Ive never had an issue with the ice cream being too melty. In fact the last time I got a milkshake it was so thick I had to eat it with a spoon.

Shakes & Cones has quickly become one of our favorite local dessert stops in the Phoenix or Scottsdale area. The idea of having high quality house-made customizable soft serve ice cream is actually pretty genius, and their execution is flawless! If you’re into banana, you can’t go wrong with the BCG specialty shake, but it’s also very fun and easy to build your own! One of our favorites is to create a shake with chocolate ice cream and added brownie bites, Oreo, and marshmallow fluff. Service is always very friendly here. Would strongly recommend if you’re in Old Town and need a treat!

Love this place! Really delicious organic soft serve ice cream in vanilla, chocolate & strawberry, plus a vegan vanilla flavor, which is delicious. Cones, shakes, sundaes, etc.

I wasted $20 on this ice cream. My daughter and I threw away all immediately. I already had them make me something else from my first choice thinking I had just got something wrong but not the case. The Ice cream has a weird texture and flavor and is weirdly warmer than ice cream should be.

I really enjoyed the happy vibe an interesting flavors. It is a very good treat to enjoy while walking around Old Town. Staff makes drinks promptly and courteously.

This place used to be the best ice cream place in scottsdale. Their soft serve was AMAZING. Not anymore. Dont order it. You will get a melted blob for 5 bucks. Its not frozen enough for them to stack it up. Zero customer service. Management has gone into the ground. It wasnt like this. So weve seen how this place has evolved, negatively.The first thing I ask the servers now, if the soft swrve machine is working. Its hit and miss.Today they said it was but we got a blob again!!!!The servers are oblivious with attitude, they make you feel unwelcomed and dare not say anything about the blob of ice cream they just gave you. Horrible experience. Very sad because we loved this place.

Little Rian and I stumbled upon Shakes and Cones.It’s a small little shop with basic soft serve. Why the 4 stars you ask? Because the menu is simple. The service is great. It’s quick. It serves its purpose.Good ice cream on a hot day that is fast with a friendly smile! I’ll be going back.

If you happen to be in Old Town Scottsdale with a craving for organic ice cream, this is the place to go. If you want something small and classic, I recommend the kids or even a regular size OG Sundae. They have seasonal flavor shakes as well as some original creations which sound amazing. I went here to get my mother some coffee. Despite this being an ice cream and shake shop, they actually served coffee as well. My mother is 100% Keto and shes also a little picky (even though I love her to death). She was trying very hard to see what they had on the menu that would appeal to her Keto diet as well as her cravings. The owner was extremely patient answering my moms questions and the owner was trying her absolute best to accodate her. At the end of the transaction she made it possible to deliver a perfect concoction of what they had that would work. I highly recommend this place to everyone thats interested in ice cream, shakes, or even coffee! Thanks Shakes and Cones!

I ordered a twist chocolate and vanilla ice cream? But being organic. Rich, creamy texture, with a sensational velvety flavors that hit the tastes buds. Friendly service and so, SO happy to have access to organic options. That being said... the only options for cups were made either of plastic or STYROFOAM. I won’t go back simply because I can’t support the use of styrofoam... I know alternative options cost more but i would highly encourage Shakes and Cones management to consider them!!

The strawberry soft-serve is literally the best thing ever. My son always gets that so I can have a taste, which is lucky because I can not resist their affogoto. So, so good! We love Shakes and Cones because the treats are delish, but we also love them because theyre local, they support our local schools, and the experience is just heavenly.

Every time we get out to Scottsdale, I always have to make a pit stop and get a shake here. So good. Great service.

I don’t usually get excited about soft serve mainly because it’s all alike but this place is a step above!!! We’re from San Francisco, where we have amazing food. Honestly, I wish Shakes & Cones was near me because it would be a place I would frequent. THEY HAVE STRAWBERRY SOFT SERVE!!!!! I got a small OG Sundae and ever layer was delicious. Homemade hot fudge and whipped cream definitely hit the spot. I’m thinking about it now at 6am in the morning. It’s delicious, you should go.

Easy to find nice little walk up with good service. Ice cream is good, better than most. Milkshake was blended soft serve, i couldnt even use a straw on it until it melted in the sun, then the texture just wanst right. Id be willing to go 4 stars but they think too highly of simple soft serve. Its way overpriced, the hours are very odd, and i cant understand why an ice cream place would close for two weeks, in summer, in Arizona. Better choices and better valued cool treats out there.

Love this little walk up ice cream shop in old town. The staff is so friendly and aside from being just simply yummy, the ice cream is all made from scratch and contains no gluten, eggs and is all organic. None of that is super important to me because I will eat ice cream any way it is served but awesome to know that is an option if thats what you are looking for! Super friendly staff and cute outdoor patio!

Soooooo good!! We got the vanutzel and it was delicious. Anything with Nutella is a go to for me. Shakes are so thick you can easily share one, but they have so many good flavors maybe just get your own ;)

Organic soft serve for my weary soul. I was impressed that it existed and even more impressed at the simplicity of it all. Its really just a hole-in-the-wall (literally) with a couple of beach chairs in the walkway for patrons. I couldnt have asked for anything more. Check out their seasonal flavor!

I found this hidden gem on my daily walk from work to the bus. It is a really underated little place. The staff is friendly and they have delicious icecream. I really appreciate ice cream that is not too sweet. It was also topped with homemade whipped cream which wasnt too sweet either. I feel like it is the perfect place to visit with friends if you want a light treat.

So delicious! I cannot say enough good things about this place organic creamy ice cream. I wish they had an air-conditioned place to sit when we go in the winter it is lovely to sit outside when we go in the summertime we have to rush back into the car to enjoy your ice cream. It is a little pricey for ice cream but definitely worth it in my opinion.

This place is awesome. Went here after eating at Bootleggers next door. Most delicious ice cream Ive ever had and if you see me you know I like ice cream. The staff is so friendly, fun and accommodating. We wanted salted caramel ice cream which they only make as a shake but they gave us soft serve with caramel and salt sprinkles. Fantastic! Also while eating your ice cream you may get a show of drunk girls pulling their skirts up to show you their newest butt tattoo. Highly recommend this place.

Soft serve is not my first choice in ice cream. However, knowing that it is a better-for-you product, it is a GREAT option for the masses that are trying to be more cognizant of what we are eating.The more important thing to us is the service they provide. We had the fortunate experience to meet and speak with one of the owners. The other staff were pleasant and all were willing to make something I requested that was not at all on the menu. We can always get behind great people! Thank you for going above and beyond.

Cute little walk up window that serves non-gmo, gluten free ice cream.There are SO many options for sundaes, but they have 3 regular flavors and a seasonal flavor of soft serve ice cream. All the additional flavors come from their extensive list of add-ins and toppings.Portion sizes are really generous (judging from the small sundaes coming out of the pick up window) and the price is fair. I had the affogato, which is 12oz of vanilla soft serve with a pour of hot coffee for $6.95. Id recommend checking it out

I’m a big believer in supporting local. This place is heckin tasty! It’s not Dairy Queen and it’s not Sonic. The service will reflect the handmade craftsmanship that goes into each individual order. Is it pricy? Yes. But keep in mind: you’re dollars are well spent on a non GMO, organic frozen treat that supports a local business! 11/10 would visit again!

Finally an ice cream treat made from ingredients you can feel good about! AND its delicious! We stumbled upon this place by accident, and are so glad that we did. I ordered a sundae with bananas, strawberries, cake batter, whipped cream (all organic), and magic shell in a waffle cone. It was so good, I went back for just a plain vanilla cone, and will be taking our kids back there today. Great local business with obvious integrity.

Delicious ice cream in a unique location. You order from the window on the sidewalk and have the option of chocolate, vanilla, strawberry or swirl. Really great quality product, all organic and they make their own fudge and whip cream. Get the sundae or the nutty buddy with fudge and spanish peanuts.

One of our stops with @oldtownscooters Food Tour was @shakesandcones ! This adorable ice cream shop has soft serves, shakes & drinks like hot cocoa, coffee, tea, soda & floats ! We were able to try their delicious OG sundae ! It has organic vanilla soft serve ice cream and hot fudge topped with their Homemade whipped cream and chopped nuts that complimented the sundae 🤤 ugh super tasty it’s making me want more right now ! We also got try their RootBeer Float that was as tasty as their sundae 🤤😋😋.

We went here today to get an ice cream but they were closed :( as we walked away the owner came out and asked my kids if they wanted a sample. When she came back she gave them both a huge cone for free! It was amazing!!! It tasted amazing and she is so generous! Im so excited to share this business and come back..when they are open!! Lol

I love ice cream.. Vanilla especially. So this place is basically has two flavors vanilla and chocolate and theyre organic.. So its going to be good right? Wrong. The vanilla was basically tasteless. The texture was very thick, creamy and heavy in all the bad ways... like normally this would be perfect and good descriptive words for great ice cream but this did not taste like Dairy at all. It tastes like fake ice cream made out of guar gum and non dairy confection.

Ice cream is soft serve & just vanilla and chocolate. My 9 year old granddaughter and I ate very little of our shakes. Mine was a plain vanilla shake that I asked for it to be very thick. The flavor was just not my thing (almost flavorless) and it was definitely not thick. Hers was chocolate/vanilla with Reeses Pieces. She ate very little of it. Very disappointed!
