Great deals on boating/maritime equipment. They provide mending services on sails/masts. Max length 70 ft. Located near Shilshole and Corinthian marinas.

Ive relied on the repair services of Ballard Sails since buying my first boat in 2011 and theyve always done good work at a fair price. I just bought a new mainsail and for such a big purchase I wanted to shop around for the best deal. After reaching out to 6 different sail lofts in the Seattle area, Ballard sails offered a higher quality sail than others and at the lowest price. Alex has been very responsive throughout the process. Plus this loft is 100% local so I know my money is supporting a local business.

Ive had excellent service at Ballard Sails. Theyve done a number of repairs for me: new luff on an in boom furling main, re-stitch and UV cover replacement on a staysail, and other minor repairs. Ive also had them build a new cruising jib for our boat. The experience is always collaborative and I feel like they listen to my needs and help me make better choices based on how we sail our boat and what our cruising habits are. I cant speak to their racing sail performance, but Im very happy with our cruising sails. Their prices are competitive with the large lofts and Im happy to support my local sail maker.

Awesome local place. Got my sails refabed here and stack pack repaired. Super great people that do quality work. They look after their customers too to make sure things will fit correctly, are installed right etc. A+!

Sail work was OK, but unfortunately had them do my standing rigging. it did not go well. major quality issues with installation, including several fairly important safety issues with install. They had to pull my mast again after crushing all the the mast wiring, too, and I had to pay for materials on that one. Still fixing various things six months later. The owner offered an apology and thats about it. would not recommend at all.

I live up the hill from Ballard Sails and had some much needed sail maintenance. They were essential for the completion of my projects and am thankful theyre in the neighborhood. I enjoy working on my sails personally so I did not employ any labor. However, I did fully appreciate the helpful and knowledgeable staff. They treated me with respect and partnered with me in any obstacles I encountered along the way. Excellent resource of knowledge, experience, and supplies.

Super friendly and great work.- sail track, battons, sail cleanup and small repairs on an old J47 main.Be aware that summertime things will take a while to schedule. They also have some creative ways to fab a new sail cost effectively, so I’ll be back when I’m at that point! And they have a good canvas guy for mainsail bags and other canvas workThank you !

This is a great young company which makes good sails at prices which are unbeatable. They made me a new jib and mail sail at about half the cost of the other bids from other sail makers, and far less time then I would have waited if I had paid twice as much. PLUS, they made me a nice soft sun cover for my cockpit, in about a week (on short notice) for a very reasonable price. I just returned from a 2 months sail from Seattle to Glacier Bay, and the sails performed perfectly, and look great.

Alex, Joe, and the crew at Ballard Sails just made us a new mainsail for our Centurion 42. They made it in record time for our vacation, exactly as requested, and with the same friendly, skillful, prompt, efficient service we have enjoyed for some years now. It fits and flies perfectly. We recommend Ballard Sails.

I was a new J/35 (S/V Solution) owner in need of new sails and contacted every loft in the State that I could find. Rather than sending me some sales brochure with ads about the latest snake oil, Joe (one of the owners) took the time to teach me a lot about how sails work and worked with me to figure out what I wanted within my budget. They made a racing Main, Genoa and Chute for me.At a recent short handed multi-day race, I was pleased to see that when my course was set and sheets dialed in, I was not just pulling ahead of everyone in my class, I was leaving them far in my wake! My boat has been out of production for more than 2 decades now and new $XXX,XXX boats cannot keep up with me! Its quite a feeling!Aside from making great sails, on time, on budget and for a reasonable price, Joe and Alex both went beyond the call of duty in helping me out. More than just a loft - these guys go the extra mile to help you get the most out of your purchase without nickel and diming you for every little thing, or pushing some gizmo nick-knack on you, like others I briefly worked with.Very pleased with the service and will be using them for all future sail-related needs.
