Took my Audi A5 to the dealer for service, was told I needed new brakes, front and rear, including rotors for almost $2,000. Have been using D&D for years, brought the car in for them to have a look. Turns out the rear brakes were fine, as were front rotors, front pads were getting close. Replaced the front pads and turned the rotors, $269 total. Many thanks again to Larry and crew!

Called these guys on a Saturday morning just as they opened to see if they had availability to replace my rear brakes, they got me in within 1 hour, and got my brakes replaced and my vehicle road ready in less than 2 hours. These guys are great, very affordable pricing as well. Would highly recommend for any brake job.

During my regular maintenance at the dealership, they identified an issue with a brake recently installed by D&D. Spoke to the owner and he quickly got me in to get it replaced under the warranty. Great customer service.

I have been a customer of D&D brakes for over 15 years! Its the only place I will go for brake service. Terry and his crew are awesome! They do great work, super fast and you can trust them! One of my first experiences with them I was expecting to need all new brakes, rotors, and sensors. When they finished they told me they only needed to replace two pads and everything else looked good. I was shocked! How many times have you gone in for service and are told you only need a couple of the items you expected to have done because the other items still had life in them? Their prices are awesome too! I was at the dealership getting an oil change and they decided to give me a quote for front brakes, rotors and sensors because I needed them done sooner than later...D&D was 1/3 the price of what the dealership quoted me. The BMW dealership does have sodas and lattes for free but it would have cost me over $800 more to have it done at the dealership! D&D is awesome and I highly recommend them! They didnt sell me a service I didnt need. I live in the city and dont have a garage or space to work on my car myself. I came in for a free brake inspection since I had concerns about my brake pedal travel and feel. The technician at the time, Tom I think, met me at the scheduled time, inspected the brakes, and ensured me that everything looked and felt safe and normal, and that my pads still had plenty of life in them. Will definitely come back in 10-15k miles when my brakes need work.

I contacted multiple auto shops in the area for a quote to replace my brakes and possibly the rotors. D&D was quick to respond and provided reasonable quotes. I brought my car in and they provided a free inspection and called later to tell me only my front brakes needed to be replaced and that my rotors were fine. I can see why these guys have such positive reviews. They were very honest and up front about everything. I even gave them the chance to try to get some more money out of me by telling them that I thought the calipers were bad also. He took a look at everything and told me that just the brakes and rotors needed replacing. The calipers were completely fine.I was then quoted a fair price for the work and a time estimate of 90 minutes. I was out the door in 45.I will be back next time my brakes need servicing.

This my second opinion after getting a quote for a total replacement of my brake system. I was told i didnt have to replace my calipers and, therefore, didnt have to flush the system. Still had to replace my rotors and pads but a massive savings.The waiting room could use some improvement. But I wasnt there long.

D&D is THE place in Seattle to get your brakes done! This place is truthful about what is really needed; you can trust them. They charge reasonable amounts for the work done. I wont go any other place for this work.

Excellent and fast work by an honest and professional staff! The Toyota dealership quoted me double what I payed at D & D! We also brought my wifes car in for brakes and after the free inspection they informed us that no work was needed. Their honesty and fair pricing made it an easy decision. We live 45 minutes away, but we wont go anywhere else for brake work.

Came in to have a 2nd opinion on my squealing brakes early in the morning. The dealership said that its not a safety issue and just an annoyance. Went to D&D brakes, they checked it out and confirmed that there is nothing wrong with it and just more on annoyance. I was advised that replacing it at still 90% brake life is not practical ( which is true ). I did not paid a single dime for the brake check. It was free. If I need a brake service I will definitely come back here. Hopefully they will have oil service in the future, would love to have business with these guys.

Excellent service all around. Larry walked out to greet us as soon as we got out of the car and checked us in (so first point of contact made by a great representative for the shop). Everyone is friendly, uber knowledgeable and they take the time to explain the work they need to do on your vehicle (and show you, too). The shop is very well run. Work is done in a timely manner. This is the third time weve had brakes done by D&D (3 different cars) and were very satisfied every time. This is a shop from the good old days when your mechanic was an expert in their craft, took pride in their work, and treated you like a valued customer. If you want excellent quality work and exceptional service at a reasonable price then you should take your vehicle to D&D Brakes. Oh, and we mentioned that my car makes a squealing noise when it starts and the AC is on. Even though this is not the work they do, Tom walked out to my vehicle and checked the AC belt and added a lubricant. No more noise! He also showed us that the belt is a bit loose. Now Id say that is the icing on the cake!

I have been a customer of D&D Brakes for over 34 years. I have known Larry, the owner, since he was a teenager working for Don Danley (hence D&D). I refer all my friends to D&D anytime I hear someone in need of brake service. One of my coworkers just took his truck into D&D and, as usual, they lived up to their well deserved reputation. My friend could not stop raving about what an honest business professional Larry is. He said that Larry gave him a full assessment of the repairs that needed to be done and done at a fair price. What most impressed my friend was Larry also told what didnt need to be done right now. My friend is confident that OTHER shops would have piled on repairs that propbably werent really necessary.I have always described Larry as honest as the day is long and he did not disappoint. My friend now says that all of his cars are going to D&D for any type of brake work. Being honest, doing exceptional work, using quailty parts, and charging a fair price is how you build a long lasting business. There are not many businesses that boast a 4.9 rating with lots of reviews in the auto service catagory.

I dont normally take the time to write reviews, but these guys have just been too good not to. Super personable, really fast and extremely competitive on price. Ive had them install brakes Ive purchased separately a couple times now, and they never complain or get weird about me trying to save a few bucks. So rare these days to deal with honest shops, this is definitely one of the few.

While we did not receive service here, we had an excellent experience while trying to diagnose and quote an issue. The next time we do need brake service we will 100% be coming here though. The brakes in my very old and worthless Jeep went out as I was leaving my office just down the street from D&D. We legged the car to the shop in the middle of the night and left a detailed note and the key in the drop box. I called in the morning and they were very nice about us leaving a vehicle without notice. They had inspected the vehicle and had a quote within an hour! The mechanic I spoke to was very professional and explained the costs and service to me in a clear way, without being patronizing. The price quoted was more than reasonable for the work, way cheaper than big name places. However, there was far too much wrong with the vehicle to make that choice. They were understating and didnt have an issue with us not being able to tow it off their lot till later that evening. I really appreciate their understanding and patience, theyve won me over for sure!

I had very pleasant experience with D&D, I went to this place twice each time Tom is patient and really professional to help me with my brake issue. They provides solid price and tell you exactly what you need and what you dont. However the other store quote me over $600 for whole brake change on a small lubricant problem. Will definitely come back again!

Came in for a brake inspection because I had been told that my rotors needed turning by someone else. They took me in last minute, did a thorough inspection and told me I didn’t need anything done at the moment. I’ll definitely come back here when I do need a brake service!

D & D Brakes was incredibly helpful! My partner went in since our brakes were screeching. They not only cleaned our brakes, but were willing to explain what it was we were hearing, how brakes work, and assure us that we were safe. When we do need replacements in 10,000 miles, we are definitely going here.

The owners are very honest in their assessment of what you need. I was told somewhere else that I needed a new brakes and when I went there they told me I had another,10000 miles on my current brakes. They are also very reasonably priced when I eventually had my brakes changed.

They sold me all of the services that my car required, and nothing more. They took a job that would potentially require my vehicle to stay overnight, and completed it the same day. The cherry on top was when I noticed that a loose component on the rear fender (whose repair I had been putting off) had been reinstalled. Unless there’s a magical car repair fairy running around Seattle, I can only assume that the folks at D&D took care of it. I’m not usually one to leave reviews, but when a business goes above and beyond at that level, it feels like a disservice to not give them some recognition for it.

This was probably the best experience Ive had at any car related business. Stopped by at 4:30pm on a Monday, thought i might need new break pads. They put it up on the rack and within 10 minutes were able to have it down and told me that the front pads had 80% left and the back had 60%. They were so nice and helpful and suggested i come back in 10k miles to check out the rear pads. They easily couldve just told me that i needed new pads and i wouldve believed them. I cant recommend them enough and today they have earned my future business forever.

Was able to get my grinding brakes fixed same day since I was able to get done with work early. They told me what was wrong and showed me on a diagram, and the price sounded pretty reasonable. Was not intimidating like some other shops can be, and when I asked about another thing I needed repaired, he referred me to 2 places and described their price ranges!

These guys are super nice and helpful. I got strange noise from my wheels which was later known from small rocks stuck in the tire. They helped me solve this without charging me anything! Also the dealer suggested me to resurface the roater while these guys told me its not necessary at this time. These guys wont force you to buy anything! They work for the customers. Just got front brakes replaced and they saved my rotors when other folks were saying they needed replacement, saving me money. The brakes were great and service was fast, friendly, and honest. Small wait room and no great cafes places nearby, so plan your stay accordingly.

I had a wonderful experience today. I stopped by to get a check-up on my (somewhat squeaky) brakes after recently driving across the country. Larry was honest about my vehicles condition; he took the time to provide suggestions for helping to keep track of the life of my brake pads and when to get them checked again. Made a Saturday morning appointment for a free brake exam, it took them probably 5 minutes if that.I had several months ago been told during a brake inspection at the U-district Grease Monkey that my brakes needed new pads and rotors and other work on them that was a few hundred dollars.I told Tom this and he chuckled and said my rotors looked fine and my pads had enough on them for about 10k miles and I went on my way without having to pay for unnecessary repairs.I will be coming back here in 10k miles!

I went in to investigate a light squeal, and they did the free brake check ten minutes early, in under five minutes, and told me it was because of slight safe rusting on the rotor, and that my brakes wouldnt actually need any work for another 70k miles. These guys are the best, Ive gone to them for years. Really good people. You can totally trust them to be honest with you, even if it means they dont make money off you. And when they can work on your car they do a great job. Will always go back!!

Excellent and friendly service. Had break pads and rotors replaced, however afterwards there was a strange clicking sound coming from one of the replaced rotors. Took a handful of trips into D&D over a number of weeks to finally isolate the problem, during that time I was never charged a penny more even though they replaced additional parts and spent several more hours on labor during those visits. Highly recommended.

This is the first time Ive felt compelled to write a review. They saw me when I needed brakes in a pinch. The mechanic invited me into the shop to show me exactly what work he needed to do on my car. He made sure the price was competitive with the last shop I went to. They also have a printed list of your rights as a customer taped to the front desk. The quote wasnt cheap, but I think it had more to do with the make of my car than their pricing. I needed pads, rotors, and calipers replaced. Either way, I will definitely come here again.

Did my family a great deed days ago with an affordable repair and solution to what I didnt know was a broken wheel cylinder with a few other issues. From the guttural, rust sound Id get driving around to now nothing but a smooth drive thanks to also their brake fluid flush with new shoes they provided me with, I thank d&d for their honest work.

I cant attest to the quality of their work but I can attest to their honesty. Ive been dealing with squeaky brakes for a while & held off on taking them for repair. I called to make an appointment for an estimate (free) and told them I knew I needed at least brake pads & maybe more. Upon inspection, they said my brakes may be annoying but they were functional & safe; the issue could be corrected when the brakes were serviced next. Other shops would have just replaced the pads & taken my $$$. They certainly impressed me!

My breaks were squeaking so I brought my 2004 Volkswagen Passat into D&D. They were quick to get my car in for inspection, about 5 minutes. The mechanic told me I didnt need new breaks for another 5,000mi, the sound was normal for those type of breaks. Super nice guy and I appreciate the honesty. He could have charged me what ever and I would have paid. Ill definitely be going back there in the future.
