I rely on my computer to operate my business... like Im sure most do. So of course when I experienced technical errors beyond my DIY expertise I had to seek help. I have a trustworthy friend that works in Electronics that recommended this Mac Medics place in Severna Park.I was immediately greeted by staff on arrival. They checked me in and took my baby into their care. I heard back within 2-3 business hours.COMMUNICATION IS GREAT!I worked with technician Kyle who not only diagnosed the problem, but took the time to educate me in a way that I could better understand what was going on. I gave the go-ahead and the mac was repaired in one business day.FAST TURN AROUND!Downtime was extremely minimal... and the service cost was $50 for what I needed in my particular situation.PRICES BEYOND FAIR!I brought my mac home, and I made it my first priority to write this review with it.I was so impressed that I immediately took another mac (that I planned on recycling) in for diagnosis and repair. Quick drop-off and repair. I usually use the mall Apple Store which is only 4 miles from my house, but it is difficult to get an appointment within 2 days, Mac Medics did the repair on-site after ordering the replacement part. My last laptop repair required the Apple Store to ship it to a repair facility. Ultimately this repair was faster..

Would recommend for anyone shopping for Mac products.Recently purchased two MacBooks on two separate occasions. Store has a good selection and reasonable prices. However the customer service could use some work. I was able to place the MacBooks on hold by phone which was great. First experience in the store was fine we worked with a lady who was nice. Second time in the store the sales associate seemed rude.

Absolute HEROS! Perfect service, no complaints at all. My external hard drive that I use for work everyday (mostly for pro tools sessions) randomly started not mounting properly and i couldnt access any of the data. I thought I was screwed and was going to loose YEARS and Terabytes of my own work and clients work. I went to mac medics hoping they could recover the data and instead they were able to fix the drive with a simple software fix!!! They only charged me for the diagnostic, gave me a small discount on a new ssd and explained a better way for me to back up my drives in the future. Above and beyond service. Huge thank you to Dana specifically, you are a true life saver!!

My brand new MacBook Pro with M1 chip (purchased April 2021) stopped charging last Wednesday. Battery icon had an x. I thought it may have been from accidentally spilling water on it the day before. Was able to schedule an appt with the store same day and drop it off. Store personnel called me the day after and said it was not water damage. Laptop was sent to Apple. Just picked it up today. They replaced MLB, Touch ID, and I/O Board. Glad I have Apple Care since I didnt have to pay for repairs. Overall, staff was friendly, polite, and efficient. I am glad they kept me up-to-date with my repairs. Store has COVID regulations. Wore a mask time each time I went. Nice to see they offer masks for customers who need.

I am thrilled with two recent laptop repairs from Mac Medics. They added nice service extras for free and worked with Apple for outstanding warranties. They are also US government (NDAA) compliant and that saves us extra paperwork, really pleased.

I had Mac Medics come to my home recently to fix a problem which involved a keyboard not responding to any characters I typed. As a result I could only sign in as a guest user which meant I no longer had access to my email, calendar, and other important documents. Doug MacKinnon, the technician, arrived promptly on a Friday afternoon. Not only did Doug fix the problem, but he cleaned up other issues which had slowed down the Mac. I recommend Doug and Mac Medics highly. Five stars doesnt begin to express my confidence in this company.

I was experiencing problems with my iphone charging port. Technical personnel cleaned my port with no further problems. I offered to pay for their time cleaning the port however there was no charge.

Failed to identify the problem my laptop was having after I brought it in multiple times, and wanted me to pay for more services when I finally figured it out on my own.

I felt my 2011 IMac was on its last legs. It was constantly running slow. I called Mac medics to ask what they could do to fix it and they recommend I upgrade the ram, and gave me a website to order the hardware from.What impressed me the most was how they could have asked me to come in and I probably would have had to pay a diagnostic fee, but the technician I spoke to gave me a simple fix I could do myself instead of upselling me just to make a buck.I ordered the hardware and put it in myself and it now runs way faster.

Forget Apple... The real geniuses are at MacMedic. In fact, they should be wearing capes. They truly know their business. I would go to them again without hesitation. Excellent customer service. Superior experience overall.

Jeff Klein @ Mac Medics in Severna Park is a MacBookPro professional, who clearly explained my options in transforming my 2012 painfully slow MacBookPro to a fast responding computer. He reinstalled the OS [adopting my home folder], replaced hard drive with solid state, and maxed out my RAM to 16GB as I want to run large data sets in R. I am more than pleased!

MacMedics has consistently provided me with superb service. I feel lucky to have a team of such talented people nearby. In my most recent case, they determined that the motherboard of my MacBook was corroded. Maybe keeping it on the porch where i have the spa wasnt such a good idea. I also must commend them on making sure everyone was safe entering and leaving the store.

During this time of Covid, when so many are so careless, they have procedures for protecting each customer and employee. Their store is immaculate, and the employees are courteous and professional. We had an executive employee with an emergency and the timing of the repair was critical. They returned the MacBook Pro looking and running like new. These guys are absolutely amazing! I have not seen service this good in years.

A caring and wonderful place to get your Mac Computer fixed.I took my ancient MacBook Air laptop to find out why my batterywas not holding the charge. Not surprising with the age of my favorite laptop over the years. The staff member I met was helpful and a good listener. She mentioned several options and that I would get a call or -email on the next work day. Like clockwork I got an e-mail with options and no pressure. I did not feel like I was being dismissed as not worthy by an Apple Genius. I came in to pick up the laptop and got a non-judgemental educational session on the possible dangers of the third party power supply I was using. I left a happy camper with a working laptop and a new battery and Apple power supply in just one day. My first Mac was a Mac 512 KE purchased in 1986. I have met lots of folks selling and repairing Macs over the years. MacMedics in Severna Park, Maryland are the most professional and caring folks I have ever had the privilege of meeting. Wow !!

Prompt and Professional ServiceMy Mac Pro 16 laptop screen cracked. I purchased it at Best Buy so I first took it there to have their Geek Squad look at it. It quickly became apparent they are not used to dealing with Mac issues. They could not quote me a price to replace the screen, they needed to send it out, and they could not even quote me a timeframe for the repair. I called Apple while at the store and they scheduled an appointment for the next day at MacMedics.As soon as I met with MacMedics I knew they have done this before. They quoted me an estimate to make the repair as soon as they saw it and said it should take 2-3 days to make the repair. A couple days later they called me to pick it up the repair was completed. They even scanned it for viruses and malware. I picked up my machine this morning and it is as good as new. 5 stars for prompt and professional service !

Just purchased a refurbed MacBook Pro 15 from Mac Medics in Severna Park. I LOVE this computer. It may be my best Mac to date. I found MacMedics at the height of COVID. They had great customer service during some challenging times. They have twice taken great care of a MacBook Pro problem Ive had. While appreciate their technical expertise, I appreciate the outstanding customer service more. The limited hours store hours is the only issue but its well worth dealing with the hours they are open given their efficiency.

I brought my iMac in so that they can restore the settings, make possibly minimal changes that might improve the speed of the device . My device wasn’t slow at all. I tried to use my device today and To say that I’m disappointed will be an understatement because it takes 20 minutes to just to load safari and it keeps restarting without even me doing it. What type of rubbish is this? Why would the device perform way worse than when I brought it in? I’m so angry and disappointed.

My family has had multiple MacBooks and iPhones serviced at Mac Medics as well as a recent purchase of a new MacBook Air. I cant say enough good things about their service. Every employee I met or spoke with on the phone was super friendly, helpful and patient with my lack of tech skills and went above and beyond to answer my numerous questions. Phone camera stopped working and I am leaving for vacation soon. They fixed my camera and called me to pick it up in less than 24 hours! I dropped it off right before closing and it was ready the next morning. So disappointed. Dropped off my 2013 Macbook because the E & I keys didnt work so we could no longer type in the password. My battery was still original and lasted about 90 minutes unplugged so I also asked for a new battery. The plan was to prepare it to be passed down to my kid for homeschooling. I got a call that it doesnt work at all and would cost $950 to fix it. How???? It was working when I dropped it off. Tech says shes not surprised because Its vintage. Im so disappointed. It was then told I could pick it up and pay a $25 diagnostic fee or have them recycle it. Again, my computer was working fine and now I need a new computer.

We have a 5 week old infant and I’m lucky enough to be working through this pandemic, so the extra effort by MacMedics to get my phone back together is greatly appreciated. They went above and beyond working with me and my forgotten passwords... to repair my 11 Pro Max that was run over by a few dozen cars. They saved me almost $300 over the replacement cost. Its also great to work with a local shop as apposed to national shipping and worrying about package thieves too.

When my MacBook Air would not turn on and none of the tricks would work, I was disappointed there were no appointments at the Apple Store and didnt no where to turn. Kudos to MacMedics for their strong search skills and alliance with Apple so I gave them a shot and dropped off the machine on Tuesday and it was fixed by Friday. Mac Medics seems to have figured out how to operate safely and effectively during this time of social/professional distancing. I took my laptop to their store and followed their simple guidelines to drop it off for repairs. The process made me feel as though they take customers’ AND employees’ safety seriously. I really appreciated that. Since I hung on to this laptop for about four years after it initially broke before bringing it in, it unfortunately could not be fixed. I received notice of its obsolescence within a quick two days. Okay, no problem, I knew it was a long shot. So I called back to arrange payment for their time investigating my issue and to arrange picking up my dead MacBook. The person answering the phone was great and clear about the issue. Surprisingly, Mac Medics waived the diagnostic fee (which would have been more than fair), and they offered to dispose of it for me. I appreciate this so much because I would have needed to drive all the way to their location just to pick up a computer-turned-paperweight and bring it home. Now I don’t have to worry about following up, and I’m rid of a piece of non-working tech in home. The process was easy and painless. Obviously these guys know their stuff and care about serving people responsibly. Good employees and a good business. This was my second encounter with them, but my first review. They brought back some computers from the dead on the previous visit. I’m a fan.

Quoted me $450 on a $200 battery replacement at a normal mac store (which Annapolis Apple performed in store.) This price is even listed online via Apple, so I had an idea of what the minimum would be going to Mac Medics.I had to ask specifically if there was a diagnostic fee and what the estimated repair price was since they basically just shoved the agreement at me without explaining anything, and only got the information after they scoffed at me for asking. In fact, it was a different employee than the one talking to me that even bothered to give me the minimum price in the first place.Overpriced and unprofessional.

I ASKED THE APPLE REPRESENTATIVE WHICH ONE HE TRUSTED AND WITHOUT A BLINK HE SAID MAC MEDICS IN SEVERNA PARK MD, AT THAT POINT I HAD NOTHING TO LOOSE SO I DROVE TO MACMEDICS THINKING IF APPLE COULD NOT HELP ME, I DOUBT ANY OTHER PLACE WOULD. THEY CALLED ME EVERY STEP OF THE WAY AND RECOMMENDED THAT I GET A NEW SSD HARD DRIVE BECAUSE THE ONE I HAVE IS A BAD HARD DRIVE, HENCE THE 2HRS BOOT UP TIME AND THE UNRECOGNIZED PORTS AND INTERNAL HARDWARE.I ORDERED A NEW HARD DRIVE AND SHIPPED IT TO THEM ON TUESDAY, I AM WRITING THIS REVIEW ON THURSDAY ON MY FIXED MACBOOK! MY MACBOOK ACTUALLY OPERATES FASTER THAN IT EVER DID. THIS TEAM IS LITERALLY HEAVEN SENT! Mac Medics provided me with excellent service when my logic board went bad. They replaced the board, helped me with finding a new hard drive when I requested the upgrade, and they then transferred all my data from my old drive to my new drive. The had it all done within a couple days and were very helpful when checking out. Excellent service and super helpful through the whole process. They made it nearly seamless getting my system up and running again. Saving me countless hours reinstalling my data.

For my academic endeavors I opted to purchased MacBook Pro, and since I was not familiar with the MacOS operating system, I didnt want to purchase new. I turned to MacMedics because they were highly recommended and local. In the summer of 2020, I purchased a refurbished 2015 MacBook Pro from Dana. This was a wonderful decision! The device was exactly as advertised. Dana spent quality time answering my million questions (and alleviating my fear of switching from a PC to Mac). Recently, I made a bad decision to download McAfee from the university IT, on the recommendation of the university IT advisor. BED DECISION. After attempting to rectify the uninstall myself, without success... I turned to Mac Medics. Dana was clear, honest and concise in his advice. These people will stay in the business longer than the apple stores. The employees are professional and curteous but to me the most outstanding quality in determining the longevity of a business is customer service and honesty.They have repaired my laptop twice. Twice they have found a repair program under apple to cover the vost of the repair. Superior knowledge, lack of being harrased and honest people is a rare find in a business. I used to be a big fan of this company but no longer. Maybe they are too busy, maybe its Covid stress, I dont know, but whatever magic they used to have is gone. In June 2020 I bought a refurbished iPad Pro from them. It included a 90-day warranty. Of course on the 93rd day the iPad died. For this I paid $1000, now I have an expensive brick. Maybe thats just bad luck but when I called them this morning to get some advice on how to repair, they could not even find the iPad because they had recorded the wrong serial number (or maybe they sold me someone elses iPad?). Really frustrating and expensive experience, nothing like being told the item you are holding in your hand does not exist in their system. Bottom line is they can probably still repair your broken phone screen but dont buy a refurbished item from them if you want it to last beyond the (short) warranty period and definitely dont expect them to actually keep track of what they sold you and be willing to help in the future.

I felt greatly pleased to be there, and one of the guys gave me excellent customer service. Would definitely recommend to those that need help with their Apple products. Very good service and staff.

Absolutely the best place I took my daughter’s MacBook Pro, cracked screen. They literally fixed it in a day, they go the extra mile for their customers. Everyone so welcoming and friendly!!! If I could I would give them more than 5 stars! I recommend this place to everyone. We were helped out by Dana and he did everything possible so my daughter could have her computer asap.

I cant say enough good things about the team at MacMedics. They are phenomenal to work with.My son tipped a cup of coffee on to my brand new MacBook Air last weekend and I took it to the folks at MacMedics. They were quick to diagnose the laptop and tell me there was coffee under the keyboard and that it was recommended to have the computer sent to Apple for repair.Within three days, I had my computer back and as good as new. They ran a few system checks before they called me to come pick up and I am confident that all is well. What a great group of professionals to work with! I will definitely be back for any future repairs.

My 2012 MacBook Pro was running super slow and lead to the hard drive completely dying. I’m someone who uses it for hours everyday for work, so I was completely crushed and overwhelmed. I called Apple to have them help me troubleshoot. After being on the phone with them for over an hour they told me my computer is a “vintage” and they don’t carry parts anymore, which was heartbreaking. They recommend Mac Medics and I’m so thankful they did. After 3 minutes in the store they had my computer turned on and diagnosed. They recommend a new hard drive and data transfer. The whole process checking in and having them diagnose it took maybe 10 minutes. I left the store feeling excited and trusted them completely because they really care and it shows. My old hard drive was so sick it took a week to complete the process. My computer is running like new now and I’m one happy customer. I will definitely be a customer for life.
