I have stopped coming to the Donut Shack after the last owner just ran that place down but, oh I am so glad to see it is back to its former glory and now even serves gluten free items from the “Gluten Free Bakery Girl” in St Michaels. I am so happy! My husband loved the coffee and his donut was fresh and delicious. Thank you for improving the Shack were you could and keeping the retro charm and out of this world donuts they way they were.

Delicious donuts and pastries! Reasonable prices. A good variety of choices even towards the end of the day. I will definitely be returning; as I felt this was a much better choice than the other competitors out there. Check them out when you are wanting something sweet!

Wife and I just had Donut Shack for the first time. They donated donuts to the Stef Ripple Do Your Best walk&run event to raise awareness for Ovarian Cancer. The donuts were excellent, fresh, great taste and texture! We live near DC but will definitely stop in the shop when were back in this part of town. And thank you for your support of the Stef Ripple organization; keep the ripple going.

Small independent donut shop. Tried their maple bacon, peanut butter cup, and coconut cream donuts and they were bomb. Would definitely recommend!Only criticism is that I wish they had iced coffee drinks and well, but their cappuccino was decent.

Delicious and addictive. We first tried the Christmas Eve delivery box. When I discovered they were delivering to my area again, I didn’t hesitate to place another order. I used to come here years ago when I lived close by And just went back again for the first time in a long time. It used to be amazing but this last time I went it was sadly not good at all. Im not sure what has changed since then but its not what it used to be

Went to this place for the first time today. Im not big about donuts but we had a big family gathering and they seemed to be a good option for our event. I contacted the place beforehand to make sure they could take the order and the owner was very helpful. He helped me figure out the size of order based on our guest count and made sure we had a good variety of donuts. He did also mention that they now accept credit cards so it was much more convenient. Upon arrival the staff seemed very nice and the order was ready. I did not try all the flavors that we had ordered but the chocolate donuts were super tasty and the guest seemed to really like the cream filled donuts. Overall I am very pleased with their food and service.

Was really excited to find out Donut Shake delivered. We ordered a dozen for a Sunday morning delivery only to open up the box and find hard donuts. I would not have ordered them if I knew they sent left over donuts that were made the day before.

UPDATE:After a long, anticipated wait Donut Shack has reopened under new management with the goal of keeping the old recipes from previous ownership and friendly service.Opening at 6 am, there was already people waiting outside and the wait did not disappoint! Strawberry glaze, fudgies were fresh and delicious. Staff were friendly and upbeat! The community is so glad to have you guys back! The donut and lemon bar are good. Would have given more stars if even one of the 3 staff persons I saw had acknowledged me. My friend saud hello and no one acknowledged her. Considering the only other customer was on their way out they could have. Last I checked money is the same no matter whos spending it so why not appreciate or at least acknowledged all customers. Im on a donut road trip. This is the only stop where Ive been disappointed in the customer service.

Literally my favorite place for donuts. The Strawberry Shortcake donut is TO DIE FOR. I also always come here for late night donut cravings because a 24/7 Donut place is the greatest idea ever! Pro tip: If you dont drink dairy milk, go down the street to Harris Teeter for alternative milk options (theyre 24/7 too!). The prices are unbeatable for the amount you receive. Its cash only but theres an ATM here as well. 10/10 5/5 Perfect score!

Love the shack! Please support local business. I actually live in Frederick but go to the shack when Im in town. When I was in college in NC I followed a car with a shack box all the way home. Next morning got up at 6am and got my shack on! Long live the shack!

As customers for over twenty years we were saddened to see the decline of this fine establishment under the second owners. Hope returned when a third ownership came in to save the place. Things change however. The 24/7 service has stopped, the donuts (in spite of training from the master) didnt taste the same and were irregular in shape and lacked consistency. The final straw was when I bit into a jelly donut and pulled a six inch hair out of my mouth. Havent been back since.Re. owners response? To clarify, you were not open 24/7 before the pandemic. We arrived a few times around 5 PM- 7PM and you were closed. One time I asked a staff member and was told that only so many donuts were made and when you ran out you closed.--Re. the hair in the donut, I showed it to your associate behind the counter. There was no offer to replace or refund, just a blank stare.

Seriously some of the best donuts Ive ever had. Open 24 hours means its my go to late night spot. Ive often gone and made fast friends with other patrons... Very friendly people! Bottomless coffee if you eat in. The French Crueller is what keeps me coming back.

My old review seems to have disappeared, and Google Maps keeps suggesting I review this place again. So here it is:Last I visited was 6+ months ago. They were then and for many years prior the best donuts ever! You had to be sure to bring cash or expect to use their ATM. I always loved getting donuts form here, and would sometimes go many miles out of my way just to get them from Donut Shack.

I have always enjoyed their donuts here. It reminds of of when I worked at a local bakery as a teen.

Just moved out here from California had a donut craving. Drove 20 mins to Donut Shack because they had the highest ratings. To my surprise these donuts are HORRIBLE!!! Hard, dry and they tasted like old rancid oil! I bought a variety (one dozen) and cut each one of them to sample and believe me they are all GROSS!!! If you buy there only purchase one then try it and youll see. I dont even want to give this place one star but I must in order to post this :(

It’s back! The real deal is back in business and they are the donuts we know and love. These are the best donuts on the east coast. Stood in line for 45 minutes on the grand reopening and it was well worth it. Going to be like that for a while. Be patient with them as they work out forecasting and planning for day-to-day operations.

They didnt have many donuts on the shelves when I stopped by, and our family favorites were gone. They had another run on donuts.So I purchased a couple Bavarian cream and also some chocolate cake with chocolate frosting. The Bavarian cream donuts were plump and creamy, and so delish, and sprinkled with sugar crystals instead of powdered sugar, yum! The chocolate frosted was a dream of rich chocolate frosting flowing through the donut hole and very satisfying. So very good! We cant wait to go back and try some more! Way to go, Donut Shack owners and staff. Thanks for stepping up and making the Shack the best donut shop ever!

Wonderful owners! The donut shack is still the same hand cut donut shop. And they are delicious. I actually was able to see the baker himself cutting the dough it was such a sight to see!! Best donuts I’ve had in my life.

My husband and I came in during their Donut Happy Hour from 3pm to 6 pm. We enjoyed two medium coffees for free and are a couple of donuts from our dozen. Donuts were awesome as usual! Coffee was hot and fresh too.

Service is great. Their raised donuts are ok, and they do some fun rotating flavors. The cake doughnuts are dry, crunchy, hard, crumbly, and pretty much inedible. I tried them twice to see if the first time was a one-off or a bad day, and the cake doughnuts were even worse the second time. I prefer cake donuts to raised, so for me theres no point in coming back again.I wanted to love this local shop, but even the frozen pre-made ones at DD are better :(

The best hand made donuts. You won’t find anything that tastes more delicious than a donut shack donut. I recommend trying a sour cream donut or a traditional Boston cream. They’re awesome!

Thank goodness there has been a new transition of owner ship and employees. Whenever I have went in my 30 years of living in Severna Park, I never had a pleasant experience. The older lady who worked the counter was constantly rushing me and rude. The donuts were not that great either very dry and bland. Now I’ve visited a couple times with the new owners. The donuts have been extremely moist and tasted great. Everything looks how it used to but is so much better now. The young lady behind the counter greeted me promptly as I came in and told me to take my time while choosing. Donut shack just gained a customer! Thank you!!!

Amazing donuts and treats. Went here yesterday for the first time in a while. Everything was just how I remembered it to be. Donuts were fresh and tasty. They go fast on the weekends but they have a huge selection. Workers are always kind and attentive.

Been eating donuts with this place since the 80s but haven’t been in about six months. The last time I was in the donuts had little filling and seemed stale. So I hear that it’s under new management and I go check it out. So I walked in around 2am and there were none of my favs, so I asked the young lady behind the counter to make some for me. She happily went in the back and made me a couple of overstuffed donuts.They tasted way better then the ones I bought six months ago. Donut was very fresh and the filling was great. I’ve gone back since and got the same service and quality of food, so I’ll be going back.I think some reviewers on here are upset about the fact that the new owner and his employees aren’t white. Well get over it, the product has greatly improved, so enjoy.

I have been coming here since I moved in the area around 5 years ago. The donuts are still being continued to be made homemade and fresh. The seating area is clean. Donuts may not be as consistent (size/appearance) as under thr original owners, but the taste and variety is back. Chocolate creme is still amazing, coffee good, and accepting credit cards is nice.

The donuts were the worst ever! We used to absolutely love all of the donuts especially the Boston cream. Yesterday when we got a Boston cream it tasted like chemicals. Stay away! I grew up with Donut Shack. To me, there is no better place for donuts in the Severna Park-Pasadena area. When the original owners sold the shop to new people, it went to hell in a heartbeat and I said I would never go back unless the place was sold again to new owners who would bring it back to the way it was.The new owners and her staff have done a really good job since they opened in February. It will never be the same as the original, but the donuts are now way better and the people working behind the counter are just as friendly as before. I hope it stays this way!

Never disappoints!

My family and I have been customers of donut shack for over 20 years this was the 1st time coming in since new ownership and it will be the last they used to be $9 A dozen Now theyre 14 I am very upset this is what happens when people sell out and their kids dont wanna take over a perfectly good business going down a drain. PS half the reviews are fake. And they fired all of there old employees.

I live about 45 minutes away and would buy donuts from no other place. Donuts are fresh and dont weigh you down after eating them. The most impressive thing was how fresh they were a day later. Not hard!

Today was my first time trying Donut Shack. So good! The blueberry cake was amazing and my husband was just as happy with the strawberry shortcake. I couldnt get a bite of the vanilla cream, my nephew devoured it too fast!
