The store is awesome! They have a lot of good outdoor gear and a lot of it is very in style too. It was a little expensive but fair pricing. One of the managers there, Michael, was super helpful and really nice to talk to while we browsed. Great experience 👍(Also they have 15% off ENO equipment!!)

Amazing place if you need anything hiking (including advice) or coffee. Nice owners who are always willing to help. I was recovering from a broken leg and they lent me their own hiking sticks for the week. (They we’re just being kind, they do not lend out hiking sticks) We will always stop here when in Tennessee.

My boyfriend and I were on vacation for a few days in the mountains. We are coffee SNOBS and the coffee/ espresso was the best we have ever had. BEST PEPPERMINT MOCHA LATTE EVER!!! And we travel all over the US. They also recommended places to eat which were 5 stars. We also purchased clothing which was top notch and made of recycled materials. The service was spectacular and vibe was amazing. Thank you so much and we will be back!!!

This place is a hidden gem among the Smokies. The store is located on Wears Valley Rd, just a few miles from the crowds and traffic of Pigeon Forge. This is a family-owned business that sells anything you would need for your next hike or adventure in the Smoky Mountain area. The owners were super-friendly and even gave us a map of where to hike in order to avoid the usual crowds during the fall season. My girlfriend bought a pair of hiking boots, because the owner took the time to actually look at and measure her feet. He then gave her the best options for her particular needs, and never once tried to sell us the most expensive or elaborate footwear. You could tell he truly cared more about the customer getting just the right shoe and not about making money. That was extremely rare to find in the commercialized area of Pigeon Forge or even Gatlinburg. They also have a little coffee shop off to the side where they do pour-over coffee, and they care more about the quality of the coffee than making the cup fast because you are in a hurry. This is not some big chain coffee place, the coffee here is some of the best in the area. If you are looking for a ton of things to look at or hundreds of options, then stay with the online stores or the big-box places. But if you want to feel like you are truly cared about as a customer and not just another number or sale, then give GSM Outfitters a visit. You wont be disappointed.

I had to leave a review because I thought they did such a good job!You can really tell they care about the quality of their coffee, everything was made in front of us, and they let us know their whipped cream was homemade. My little sister was so excited to get a frappe with no coffee and raspberry syrup, like she does at starbucks, and she loved it. My other sister got a frappe with toasted Marshmallow and my mother and I got vanilla lattes. Everything was great and prices were comparable popular coffee chains, check them out!

Wonderful husband and wife owners. We stopped in to pick up a pair of socks and boots and stayed longer than expected chatting with the owners. They seem to take the virus seriously with everyone in the store properly masked no chin masks in the store. They host free hiking trips as well.

This business was a great find on our vacation this year. The owners are very friendly and pleasant people. We loved shopping in their store and enjoyed their freshly made caffeinated drinks they offer. They had a large selection of products available to purchase and the prices were competitive. I think we shopped in their store 3 times during the week we stayed in the area. Great place and great people!

You MUST go to this shop if you are anywhere near Wares Valley! We visited the shop a few months ago and got some great deals. We picked up a Kavu Cooler for $40 minus 15% off, and found out later that it is a very rare Patten and worth $100 USED. They have a nice little coffee shop and snack bar, discounts and deals throughout the store, and here is my favorite part. The last time that we went, as we were leaving we mentioned a company called Kuhl and how much we liked their clothing. The lady who we believe is the owner said that she was about to go to a show and would see about ordering some of their clothing. Today we came through later than we wanted to, and it was well after 5, yet they were still open and extremely inviting and friendly. Lo and behold they had Kuhl signage and several nice pieces from them that were in stock. Do not hesitate to tell them what you want, what you would like them to start stalking, or even possibly for a discount, as I can tell the owners truly are in it for the Long Haul and are knowledgeable about how to make a business successful. Such a great little shop!

Nice little shop with almost everything you need for hiking/camping. If they don’t have it they’ll call around to their competitors to try to find it for you. Ask for hiking trail suggestions if you want to know about some awesome trails that are not on the official trail maps. Great people.

Great, warm, friendly little shop for hiking/camping enthusiasts. Good selection of name brand merchandise, especially trail fashions and gear. We never pass without stopping when we are on a short trip to or from Pigeon Forge/Gburg/Smokies. Very nice owners who know their products.

Decent selection of outdoor gear. If you need information on where to hike including some places that are not on your regular your maps, stop in and visit with the owners. Super friendly couple. They are super knowledgeable about all things outdoors in and around the park. If you time it up right, you can get breakfast next door at the pancake house.

Just over 3 years ago my wife and I walked into this store wearing what we consider good hiking boots. After talking with Michael and Heather and discussing Keen boots we decided to give them a try and bought a pair each that day. It was the best move we have ever made we are closing in on 200 miles on those boots and they still have 800 miles or left in them. If you are in the area and need some gear or an upgrade to your current gear stop in and get some great advise from the owners. Thanks for always having what we need.

Even though I am medically exempt from wearing a mask, they would not let me in the store!!! Absolutely brain-dead lady behind the counter said I could buy a mask for $10 and they’d let me in. Will be filing a formal complaint against them for violating ADA regulations and requirements. KNOW THE LAW!!!!

Great little shop witha nice selection of Keens, Salamons, Oboz, and Chaco shoes, as well as many other hiking needs. The owners are very friendly, and while they didnt have the right size shoes for our needs we absolutely recommend checking this place out.

Heather, has the best iced coffees around! I always have to have one or one of her specialty teas, which she has a ton! My fiancé likes the peppermint latte and got chocolate. The menu is just as big as the bigger coffee shops, but you’ll get a friendly greeting, smiling face and great conversation at this cafe. Grab you a cup and hang out on their porch and enjoy yourself. The hammock swings are my favorite, but they have table and chairs too.

What a delight, I dont drink coffee, but Heather at GSM Outfitters has the best Tea, (Hot or Cold), you can choose from several different flavors, she always puts so agava in the tea to sweeten some. Great on a hot day cold or as the weather gets colder Hot Teas are also awesome. If you are in the area, please stop by and visit during a great cup of coffee or tea. Was a nice relaxing place to have coffee. The owner/operators Mike and Heather were very nice and pleasant to talk to. I had the Chai latte frozen and my husband had the long black. Both tasted great.

Huge selection of all the brands you want! They have friendly staff ready to offer hiking trails, equipment, correct Chaco sizing and the best coffee in the county

They were very friendly and knowledgeable about the area on local hikes for waterfalls, wildflowers, etc. Even some that arent located on the map! I bought a golf glove and it was great not to have to drive all the way to Maryville or Sevierville to do it. Ill be back.
