This restaurant is located outside the town of Seymour Indiana highway 50. The food was well presented and delicious prepared fresh. The rustic outside look does not prepare you for what waits inside. It is well lit with a lot of outside light from the windows that are strategically placed. An curio shop, restaurant, candy store. Watch the hours though before planning a trip. Well worth it.👍🏼👍🏼😎

Great food and cute things

10/10/20We were looking for a bakery and stumbled upon this place in between Seymour and North Vernon just off 50.Talk about a grand place in such a small building. The feeling when you walk in is sheer elegance. The bakery was quaint and perfect!The layout and decor brings you to a time of an old candy shop. Loved it!!We decided to eat after learning it is also a restaurant with a delicious menu.I had the Ruben, this sandwich is an absolute must try, the sauerkraut complemented the sandwich along with the 1000 island dressing. Mmm mmmm good!!We also had the chicken pot pie, oh my another delicious treat.We did order soda without ice and it came out warm, needed to get ice LOLWe also had their bacon spinach quiche, it was overwhelmed with bacon and spinach and not enough quiche. It had a good consistency, but this wasn’t one of our favorites.For dessert we had the orange pineapple cake... this is also a must!! DeliciousYou should take the time to visit this place, you can relax in the woods or just walk around the property.

Opening day at Batar in Seymour, Indiana. This is the first time Ive visited and I immediately fell in love with the place. Great atmosphere, delicious food, and an overall enjoyable time. The staff were amazing and very friendly. Cell phones must remain on silent while visiting which is a huge plus. The atmosphere overall is quiet, calm and peaceful. Cant wait to go back in May when all the flowers will be in full bloom. For lunch today, I ordered the sampler. Chicken Salad, Pasta Salad, Fresh Fruit, and Cream Cheese Spread.

I took my wife here for our 20th Wedding Anniversary. This is a special place. Everything about Batar (inside and out) says rest, relax, enjoy. You are treated well by attentive and friendly staff, the music is pleasant, and the atmosphere peaceful. That is all the prelude to a meal that has a beautiful presentation, and delicious flavor. Im not a chicken salad or pasta salad fan, but these were so tasty that I actually enjoyed both on the sampler platter. Please let Batar have the opportunity to wow you like they did us. Thank you Batar for a great time. 11/5/2020Returned in April 2021 and found it just as peaceful, and our waitress just as pleasant. We tried the Chicken Alfredo, Broccoli Cheddar soup and a BLT which was a special that day. We have not been disappointed with any part of our time at Batar. Give them a try and you will be refreshed. Thank you Batar for a great place to spoil my wife.

Nice small place in a pretty setting with good food. Staff was fast and friendly. They also sell small items for sale along with chocolates. They DO NOT take reservations so be aware of that. Definitely worth at try. They make you turn off cell phones which ends up being a good tjing.

They were extremely rude. We were avoid by the waiter. Took them over 30 minutes to get our simple food order and people who came in after us got their food before us. When we asked they gave us attitude. Worst experience I have ever had here and I go every year before going back to school. Will not go back next year.

Intimate and eclectic cafe with a simple menu filled with good tasting selections. The desserts are also very tasty. Seasonal views vary depending on time of year. We had fun watching the Cardinals while dining in mid-March. When in bloom, all the flowers must be awesome to see. Dont forget to spend a little time in the gift shop before completing your visit!

Chicken salad was awesome. Strawberry cake to die for.

Atmosphere, food and employees were all spectacular. Batar club sandwich was amazing. The orange pineapple cake was out of this world.

The food, desserts and tea are lovely, all home made and the service is excellent! The decour is delightful! It is a wonderful way to spend an afternoon! We will be returning on a regular basis!

The food is very good, desserts amazing and the atmosphere so peaceful.

Servers are pleasant, food excellent, beautiful outdoor scenery, cute and quaint interior. However, 4 visits (one with a group of 4 and three with much larger groups). Hostess very unprofessional, irritable, and rude to people. I am beginning to think she isnt aware of how she comes accross to people that it is just her nature. This is a small place and really not set up to accomodate a large crowd even thou the owner was aware weeks ahead that a large group was coming. Seniors were made to stand and stand although there was seating avaiable. It was almost as if this was Batars way to retaliate since the group did not rent their party room which was considerable more in cost than seniors could afford. I do want to reiterate that management knew way in advance that a large group was coming. Personally Id go back with a few friends but never take a group there after today and I was planning to schedule a seniors trip of 14 in the fall....not now, not ever!
