MUST READ....THIS AUTOMOTIVE PLACE HAD ME LEAVE MY CAR OVER NIGHT TO REPLACE WATER PUMP IN MY FORD EXPLORER. THEY STOLE MY CADILLAC CONVERTER AND WELDED A PIPE ON MY TRUCK AND I DIDNT NOTICE RIGHT AWAY IT TOOK WEEKS TILL I NOTICED BECAUSE I PARKED MY VEHICLE IN MY GARAGE AND WASNT USING......IN SHOCK STILL...PLEASE IF YOU GO TO THIS SHOP BE CAREFUL THEY FIXED MY WATER PUMP BUT STOLE ANOTHER PART...SMH

I been to different mechanic shops from la to Bakersfield and it’s hard building trust with mechanics after one has done you dirty but Shafter automotive has that quality that others lack great customer service no leg pulling and trustworthy when I run into a bump in the road I know I can count on these guys

These guys were fantastic! My daughters car broke down on a road trip (we live in another state) and they were super friendly and helpful. I feel like we were treated with respect and honesty. Unfortunately, the estimated cost of the repair, because the transmission was physically damaged, was about the same as the value of the whole car and I ended up selling it to a salvage yard in Bakersfield. Shafter Automotive was accommodating to this complication as well. There was no benefit to them or conflict of interest in the sale to the salvage yard. It was an unfortunate loss for me, but these guys were great.

Ill start by pointing out that I know virtually nothing about cars. I recently moved to Bakersfield (~15 mi south) and soon thereafter bought a 2003 Toyota Tacoma. It was a private transaction, $13k CASH! My parents previously lived in Bakersfield and they had the pleasure of getting to know Ben (the top dog here) and developed an enormous amount of trust in Ben caring for their vehicles. Fast forward a few years, I move to town and buy said used truck. Ben even took the time to speak to the guy that sold me the used car! Couldnt be happier, nor can I recommend Mr. Ben to anyone and everyone. Thanks again, Ben ;)

I must say it was the best decision to take both of our cars for service. Friendly professional and foremost trustworthy. I was told by ford that I needed to replace the clutch on one of our cars, they wanted to charge me an arm & leg 😡 . Decided to get a 2nd opinion brought it to Shafter Automotive they ran a diagnostic drove my car and found nothing wrong with it. And there was no need to replace the clutch and make all that unnecessary expense the car was fine. Not very many honest car repair place out there now in day .from now in all my cat repairs will be done at Shafter Automotive Ben the owner is a man of faith and as he said I can tell you fix some thing you dont need to fix just to take your money I will answer to my God so yes I highly recommend them 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍😉

So my car broke down in Lost Hills while I was driving back home to Los Angeles from visiting universities in Northern California. After the diagnostic test, they told me that my car had broken down because my engine blew out and I was stranded by myself in the middle of nowhere. Wayne then kindly offered to give me a ride to the closest bus stop for free! These guys were nice from the moment I got there and they explained what was going on with my car in a way no other mechanic ever has. I HIGHLY recommend coming here because they will be honest, professional, kind, and hard working.
