I never leave bad review EVER, but my experience here was inexcusable. I just left this place in tears from being completely shamed and embarrassed for not coming to the eye doctor enough. Which I know it isn’t good to not come, but I am broke and no vision insurance until recently. TIMES ARE HARD RIGHT NOW AND ITS REALLY NONE OF HIS BUSINESS. HE IS SUPPOSED TO HELP AND EDUCATE PEOPLE, NOT SHAME THEM. I needed new contacts, mine were extremely old. Before he even checked if anything was wrong with my eyes from wearing such old contacts He very rudely told me that he will not be examining me for a new contact prescription, and will be sent home with the same OLD contacts. Can some one tell me if this is normal? If so, then what is the point in going to the eye doctor? How am I supposed to get a prescription and how am I supposed to drive home? I will NOT be coming back here. The lady that answered the door was extremely rude and screamed at me through the glass that the doctor wasn’t even there and that “I’m just going to have to wait” this was before a word even came out of my mouth ( I had an appointment and was perfectly on time)

I will not choose this location again. I drove a long way to get my prescription filled and I was excited getting new glasses. When I arrived the were a man and a woman sitting in white coats deeply involved with their cell phones. I guess I was not a welcome interruption, because right from the get-go there was nothing friendly about this person. I even tried to lift his spirits by making a joke when he took my temperature. After the elaborate entrance ceremony, I got to sit down and was asked the usual questions....like my insurance, address, etc. After I named my insurance, this persons demeanor became frosty. He told me that he had to call ahead and I could only have one pair of glasses at this time because my insurance failed to pay. When I got glasses last year, the vendor knew my budget with this insurance and I was not ridiculed like here. He then got up to go into the back room - I guess to make the call - I asked for the second time if I could take a look at the frame. That was strictly forbidden. I told them that I wont touch them, just look.....NO ABSOLUTELY NOT! It was their procedure and he said it has all to do with social distancing. He obviously doesnt know that 71 year old women are not stupid. His behavior was discriminating and insulting. I will NEVER come back here. He than said that every vision center has the same procedures. Maybe rudeness is part of his training, because he did a great job at that.I am sorry that the company allows this to happen!

Dr De harde told me I couldn’t wear contacts then put me into glasses that I later on found out from a different eye doctor that my prescription was too strong which has caused me headaches.I was able to get contacts after all at a place in Murfreesboro . Although the time limit has ran out to do anything I wanted people to know that he isn’t a good doctor in my opinion plus I paid $300 for nothing the vision center was good but the eye doctor needs to leave he’s been there too long get someone in there that have newer experience, I’m not the only person who has negative feedback

No no no! I told this fellow going into the appointment that I needed fitted for contacts and the least amount possible cuz I was broke. My eyes were not red going on at all. Once he had me stare into the little machine at the distant house for 5 minutes telling me to be still and keep my eyes open, my eyes had turned red from dryness and were now tearing up! He says oh no. We have to stop fitting now. You have a textbook case of pink eye. $40 please. Will that be deducted from my next appointment? No it was his charge for seeing me for a condition I didnt even have. My eyes were clear by the time i got in my car! This guy is unfriendly, doesnt listen to his customer, and had bad breath to boot in my opinion.I never used the medicine he prescribed. My eyes were and are fine, I am out $40 though. Thanks alot you self absorbed prick! Guess who wont be coming back? This guy!

I went to this location just for a contact fitting. I am normally seen by a neuro-ophalmalogist at Vanderbilt for a pre-existing condition, but didn’t feel the need to waste their time with a routine contact exam. I was on time for my appointment and provided information regarding my current condition to Dr. DeHarde. He poured over my papers for a long minute in the exam room before asking, very snidely, why I hadn’t gotten a contact prescription from Vanderbilt. I told him that because of my condition, I had expected to only wear glasses from then on, but since contacts have had no negative effect on my vision, I want to keep wearing them in moderation. He answered “mm-hm” very loudly and condescendingly. At that point, I asked if I would need to go elsewhere and he promptly answered that, yes, I would need to. If Vanderbilt didn’t want me to have contacts, he wasn’t going to give them either - something I never said. He put words in my mouth and dismissed me. Frankly, I believe he was too afraid to handle a case outside of his comfort zone. So, I simply called and made an appointment for a contact fitting through The Vanderbilt Eye Institue which is where I’m seen for my condition. His loss. I would have been loyal as I’m a local patron with a constantly changing eye prescription. Just because I have a condition doesn’t mean I don’t deserve service. If you’re uncomfortable treating someone with my condition, you should own it and say so. Thanks for wasting my time. I’m not surprised your office was empty as the grave.
