If this place was in Chicago or San Diego it would be crowded 24/7 with an hour’s line out the door. Seriously. When I say we got our food quick it’s an understatement, and we didn’t just get scrambled eggs, our orders were complicated and I swear it was only 5 min. Staff was very friendly. Prices reasonable and portions were pretty big. The pay a meal forward idea is innovative and grounds for diner of the year. I literally could not write a stronger more positive review of this place. Sioux City I hope you know what you got in this place you have got to patronize these people! I mean it! And no I know no one that works or owns this place it was my first time there but definitely not my last!
I’ve never been to Sioux City before but where I go I always try to find some down to earth breakfast place and today I’m pretty sure that I found exactly what I’ve been looking for my whole life. My phone was dead or I’d take pictures but as soon as you walk into this place you feel warm and genuinely welcome. The walls are covered with positive statements and usually when you see stuff like that it seems really fake but today it felt honest and sincere. They’ve also got a great program where you can help those that need a meal. Usually I don’t like that “pay it forward” thing because the places that do that all you end up doing is buying something for the person behind you that is already there and can afford to pay. The world needs more places like this. The food was good and it really fit the mood. I wish these people and their goal decades of success and love.
The people that were working there in the morning were very friendly. The food was so good. It came out extremely fast and hot.
Service was significantly slow, we had to ask a waitress (that wasnt assigned to our table) 25 minutes after getting our table for something to drink. However, the waitstaff were very kind and once we got a waitress the service was quick & personable. The food was exceptionally good, just dont get the french toast, its a bit lacking.
I have been in a Sioux City roughly 4 months and out of all the time and money I’ve still spent, I must say this restaurant was the best. From the atmosphere to the staff and not to mention they make sure everyone is taken care of and served in a timely manner with delicious food. Highly recommend

I honestly don’t even know where to start with this place. Everything about this place was amazing! Everything from the atmosphere, service, cleanliness, and most importantly, the food! Went twice in one week for some breakfast and I couldn’t have picked a better spot. If you’re a local this is definitely a place you want to check out.
The Brightside is filled with positive quotes from many famous people. The waitstaff and cooks do a nice job preparing a variety of foods. I go there for their gluten free Philly Cheese Steak sandwich. Their frier is not gluten dedicated so I avoid, but my family enjoys their fried foods. They help provide meals for people in need. Many thankyous line the store. Good Job Brightside Cafe!
Love their breakfast buffet. Great service and they help local homeless with a free meal. Love this place with its downtown location and all around bright and sunn feel.
I would give 5 stars but as my order was a take out, they didn’t give us the chips we ordered, and was charged for… I called, and wasn’t told anything but sorry. The patty melt sandwich is, so far, the best I’ve ever had. Very good size meat Patty and very tasty
This place is amazing. It has never disappointed me yet. We went there at almost closing time and never had a problem at all. The customer service was amazing. So friendly and helpful. We rely enjoyed the food. The only downside is the hours opened. We kept coming back until they were open but it was well worth the wait.

The food and service was spectacular! We were greeted with a friendly smile and hello from the owner who took our order and with our food being brought to use in no time. It was so delicious. I noticed they just recently started offering lattes, espressos and other coffee drinks so I had to try it and those were just as good!!
Always the spot to be for breakfast and lunch. Delicious food, quick service, friendly staff. I also absolutely admire how they give back to the community, and their program for feeding the hungry. This place will always have my business. Keep it up yall!

Quaint little downtown restaurant, the food we got was good. The service was slower than molasses, and it wasnt even busy. I think there were maybe 2 other tables that had people sitting. The servers were all at the front standing around talking to each other, so dont be in a hurry. When we asked if someone was going to wait on us, they just looked at us like we interrupted them. When we were finished, we could have just walked out and they would never had noticed, but we had to hunt someone down to get our bill. The food is good, but if you are looking for service, go somewhere else.

There are no wrong answers on the menu when undecided on what to choose and the staff is wonderful and friendly.Great food and atmosphere aside, my main love is the prepay meal deal where you can buy a dish for a future patron. Tried out the Sunday brunch buffet this weekend. It was excellent. They had a great selection of items. Family recipes of pork carnitas, homemade mac and cheese and cheesecake. The buffet also included biscuits and gravy, scrambled eggs, hash brown bake, pancakes including chocolate chip pancakes, steamed vegetables and other choices. The food was very good and the service was excellent its an uplifting environment and a wonderful family run business. Weekday menu looked tasty too!
It was Sunday, so they had a buffet or some sort of limited menu. We went with the buffet. Not a great decision, because there were maybe 6-7 options total, and the food was either lukewarm or cold. The staff was nice and the place was clean, but they either need to make sure to keep their buffet food warm, or just get rid of it.
The Sunday buffet had a wide choice of foods. Everything we tried was delicious. All the staff was very friendly and professional. Highly recommend as the food is great. Love the decor.
I was so disappointed with my food today. I ordered the bright side burger & fries. My burger was extremely pink & I bit into a fry and it literally turned INTO POWDER. Tried another one and they tasted like they had been sitting out for days.

Food was very cheap but just okay at best. The waitress kept forgetting to refill my coffee and my order was messed up and no one ever came to check to see if everything was alright until our meal was just about over. Overall a meh experience.
You should definitely try the food there is cheap and really good. I like the fact its not all super greasy. The people are nice and really friendly just down to earth. Not a super long wait and not a long wait for the food either.

Went in for breakfast. Can sit down to order or go to the counter. Very clean and bright with positive sayings on the wall.Have a program that provides meals for others. Not pushy about it. And most of all the food was absolutely fabulous! Cant wait to go back.
Have to edit my review. The food is here is great and underrated. But it took over an hour to get my food. The only reason I know is because I had to pay for more time at the parking meter. I did it through the app. So I’d recommend coming if you know you have time to spare during the day or aren’t in a rush. I could’ve gone to Walmart bought the ingredients, learned the recipe and made the food myself in similar time.I’d say it’s a one off, but every time I’ve come it takes a while to get my food. They’re probably short staffed like everyone else. So can’t ding them that hard.

Had a cancelled delivery order so took the chance to try the food. Subpar for the price. It was good but almost like high priced bar food. Wouldnt go back on our own and pay for it. Ranch also tasted like straight mayonnaise. Picture is of the remaining 2 chicken strips, fries were good n hot. Like I said though high priced bar food.

First in the door, last to get helped, so just walked out today. Won’t go back. Past experiences - dry, flavorless chorizo breakfast - how can anyone screw up a mexican breakfast burrito that badly - but also by far the best if not the only good reuben I’ve ever had in a restaurant (that’s why it’s not 1 star).
Food was alright. I ordered on Doordash and they forgot some of my food though.
The food was decent, and there wasnt a wait when we showed up. Its a clean, well-lit dining room with plenty of windows to let in sunlight, and inspirational quotes on the walls. I had the Huevos Rancheros, which was good, and filled me up. The prices were also very reasonable, but the service was a little lacking. Our waitress was polite and friendly, but we had to ask several times for items we had ordered that didnt show up with the rest of our food, as well as for condiments. However, our waitress did say that they had recently switched to a new order managment system, so that may have been the cause for the issues with service. Overall, a nice place to get a meal for a very reasonable price.

I was visiting from out of town and was looking for a breakfast spot. The reviews were good so I decided to try it. Wow, what a pleasant surprise! The omelet was made perfectly, sausage and gravy was extremely tasty and the staff very friendly. I would highly recommend!
