This was the best place. Yummmm ❣️💞🌹🤟
Best ethiopian restorant in sioux falls area.
Excellent food. As a native Habesha, I can definitely say that one of the best foods offered by the lovely chef. Will surely come back again.
Beef and lamb were amazing!
The food is absolutely delicious and has a great vibe. If you want authentic Ethiopian food or want to try a new dining experience, check it out. Home cooked food out of the sweetest women’s kitchen. A treat in Sioux Falls.
Fantastic cup of tea. Great place to get some work done and enjoy authentic Ethiopian tea.
Great food warm friendly atmosphere
When we came in it felt a bit sketchy and we ordered a tea and espresso. Would not recommend the espresso. I would however recommend their Shalom special. Its like 13 dollars and is very very delicious. If I hadnt gotten the food, I wouldnt have gone back, but oh my goodness, I am so happy that I ordered it. It comes with this sour dough pancake/crepe thing, which I tried but didnt eat too much of. The part that made me love this place is the skillet that is part of the meal. It comes with beef, onions, and green peppers which have been wonderfully sauteed. The owner is a very nice man and deserves much credit for all that he did for us. We plan on going again soon to enjoy that delicious dish. Stop by and order a plate before judging the building. Again amazing food!
Tried to go Friday night 5-17-19, the place was completely dark at 7pm, clearly not open. In August I went after an apparent change of management. It was 5:30pm, there was a toddler in the dining room, no staff/adults, dirty tables. They seemed to be sleeping, we almost left, eventually the couple emerged and seemed unhappy we were there, almost nothing on the menu was available. What I wanted was available. The food was delicious, the service and experience was sketchy. Its really unfortunate because prior to the change of management, it was awesome, friendly staff and excellent food and music. I REALLY wish it were still under previous management!!
Delicious! The vegetarian platter was a perfect meal after a long, long drive. The decor is very down to earth. Nothing fancy. Which is perfect for our tastes.
I am fairly new to Sioux Falls and a couple friends came to visit one night. They decided they wanted to have Ethiopian food and I was game, but had never tried it. I had driven by Shalom many times and suggested we go there. When we walked in I was immediately not sure if we made a wise decision. The building is pretty run down and was very small, but as soon as the owner came out to get our drink order I knew that Shalom would be a good experience. I had never had Ethiopian food before, but was blown away by how good the food was. The Ethiopian wines were very good too and added to the overall enjoyment of the restaurant. I would gladly go here again and plan to soon.
Drove 2 hours to find they werent open. I even called the day before to see if they were going to be open. they said open at 11 and I got there at 12. called at 2, and 3. nothing. horrible customer service. DONT EAT HERE. if they are too lazy to open, are they too lazy too clean?
Great family experience. Friendly atmosphere with delicious food. Left overs good the next day too.
The food was very good and the people there were so friendly
One of the best Ethiopian Restaurant in Sioux Falls SD.The Owner (Rosa) treat her customers like a family.
A fun, quirky place with good food and a great atmosphere. I foresee many study sessions here, and morning coffee breaks!
Good food, nice customer service.
Just go to Lalibellas, save your time, and frustration. We ordered takeout, showed up at the pick up time, and waited an additional 30 minutes before the food was ready. I then found out that they thought we were ordering for one, when I had said clearly on the phone that I was ordering for three. The manager gave me incorrect change, and didnt apply the coupon that I had brought with. I was really hoping for a more professional experience, sadly to say, we wont be back.
The food here was fantastic! At first I was a little weary about it because the atmosphere is a little different, but was not at all dissapointed in the outcome. The owner was easy to talk to and very kind when it came to service. I plan to come back soon.
Shalom best place and best restaurants nice food the owner is give excellent service
Authentic spices and traditional cooking (as best I know), but the meats in my dish were so tough I couldnt eat most of it.
This place isnt Ethiopian but they do serve injera. The meat and sides are ok. The place is sketch and customer service needs alot of work. All in all the injera cravings were taken of here but the stew and sides could have been better seasoned instead of chalky.
It used to be great until they reopened but now you get half the amount of food for the same price and the meat is full of tendons and fat! I’m extremely disappointed and I used to love this place!
Omg horrible place . Its says on here that its Ethiopian restaurant but it isnt. Sudanese owner . What does Sudanese know about Ethiopian food?? Totally nothing. And the chicken was uncooked. The Injera itself tasted like it was expire. This place needs to be shut down or bring a good cook . Had a can of mountain dew and the can was so sticky for the outside so disgusting.
Needs rejuvenation. Closed most of the mornings but open for beverages and African food in afternoons and weekends.
Unexpectedly delicious.
My last experience I had here was awful. It was about 3-4 months ago and ordered some keywat and I found like oxtail bones in it and heard they just went through a change in management. yesterday I had a craving and lalibellas was closed so I decided to try it again. It was okay. But lacked on the seasoning. And there was okra in it. Which I like okra. But the mildness of the okra furthermore just took away from the spice. Also I had trouble understanding the cash teller. I think he told me the keywat there changes from time to time. And to still stop in but it may be different next time.
Nice food and nice assistance
They dont now how to make Ethiopian food it is nasty I order tibes and is like bad smelling how Sudanese people make Ethiopian food? Are u serious? Im just mad Im recommend for all Ethiopian people and Ethiopian food lovers please dont try the food is not good and they have no idea to make Ethiopian food
The first time we were there it was amazing, had the place to ourselves, and owner treated us like family, like eating in his home. The second time service was slow and inattentive, but the food was good, 3rd time we sat for 10-15 minutes and werent served.
Neat place to eat and different from other ethnic restaurants.
Good food. Unique experience.
