I drive around Sioux Falls quite a bit & came to picking American Fence Co. because of their professional operation & installations. The old saying, “you get what you pay for” holds true. We contacted Craig who came & gave us an estimate on replacing our old, rotting cedar fence with their very high quality/ durable vinyl fence….no maintenance!!! Their employees were very polite, professional & attentive to EVERY detail on our fence from start to finish!!! I would highly recommend this company for all your fencing needs!!!

Im not going to say dont use American Fence, but dont expect any sense of attention to detail or pride in workmanship. They are a fence factory designed to install fences as fast as possible.Pros:-They were the cheapest of 3 bids.-They did come back and fix some of the issues I pointed out.Cons:-Poor communication in terms of when project will start and when it will be completed.-No communication at all from the crew during install.-Sloppy work- ex. boards not completely attached, crooked cuts, nails sticking out, tons of crooked angles.

We choose this company because they have an agreement with a bank to where you can take out a loan to pay for the fence and its at zero percent for the first six month. This is a great deal. Therefore, we used the loan to pay for the services in full for a vinyl picket fence to keep our dogs in. They gave us an eta for the installation of the fence, but showed a few days later, not a problem. Overall I felt that the communication was poor to decent in some cases. They set the post one day, and left it like that for a week and a half, I had to reach out to them to see what was going on or see when they would finish the project. Once the fence was fully installed (or so I thought), some of the pickets went missing the next day. I called the company to verify if these should have been glued or just snapped on. According to the person we were working with these should have been glued. I had to call three times to get these things glued as some would end of missing or being removed. Overall the fence looks good in most of yard and okay in one (could be due to landscape) I would have done it differently. I felt bad calling but realized that I shouldnt as I was paying for this fence and it should meet my standards as the customer. I was very specific as to what I wanted and felt that they fell short but I did not want to continue calling them as I was over it. We are in the process of getting another fence done, I do not believe I would use them again as I was not happy that I had to keep on calling them to ensure they would finish their job. I did learn a valuable lesson never pay full in advance, pay their deposit and pay only when the services have been rendered to my standards.

He came to give me an estimate on some repairs I needed on my fence American Fence installed for me 17 years ago.Brian handled the repairs for me himself personally, at no charge, as they were minimal and I was a customer.Great customer experience! I will be back when I need more repairs or a new fence.Thank you, Brian!

Our experience with this company was awful. To start, they told us theyd get to us in early/mid May. Then the next time we heard from them, it was going to be early June. All we needed was a wood post swapped out for a steel post to hold our extra wide gate which is heavier and sagging. Easy enough, right? Should be done in a day (maybe two), right? Sure, well they came a Monday afternoon at 4:30pm. We have a dog, so having them come fix our gate, we would obviously like to know in case our dog is out or we let her out, we dont want her to get loose. Well, they didnt let us know the were there. The only way I know is because I work at home and my office window overlooks the gate. So they come remove our gate, and replace our wood post with a steel post....and then they leave. They dont tell me that theyre leaving our gate wide open, they dont tell me what theyve done or when theyre coming back...and then...they dont come back Tuesday...or Wednesday...or Thursday....you get the picture. They didnt come back until the next Tuesday. THE NEXT TUESDAY! For one of the most simple projects. And this was after we complained multiple times. They are awful at communicating. They dont care about customer service and getting the job done. We are so lucky we had a couple pallets that we could block of the huge opening in our fence so our dog wouldnt get out. But I would never recommend this company. Not even to someone I didnt like. Oh, and Im pretty positive we were stupid and they overcharge too. Thats our fault. Go find some better company to do your fence cause this one aint it.

NO COMPLAINTS HERE!! They recently put up my wood fence and I like the privacy. They kept me well informed and notified me when they were going to install the poles and when they were coming back to finish. It took awhile to get done but worth the wait. I knew I wasnt their only customer and summer is a busy time for fencing.I did a little research before getting quotes, I ignored the few negative complainers and used my own judgment. American staff was friendly, helpful and offered a financing plan. My fence serves its purpose to keep my dogs and kids safe. Over time the SD weather will beat the #@%T out of it anyway. Id recommend American Fence to anyone.

American Fence provided the least expensive cedar fence after I secured 3 estimates. It took longer than I had hoped to get the work completed, but once finished, the fence looks great. Installation was done expeditiously and they cleaned up everything when finished. I would recommend them.

We were supposed to have the fence installed weeks ago. We paid in full months ago. There’s no sense of urgency. I’ve been calling in to check on status, but they still seem not to know or care exactly why my fence isn’t up yet.I’m disappointed with the lack of response, preparedness, organisation, process knowledge and customer care from office staff.When I called, they made me feel as if I was wrong to be calling and told me not to call again this week, but I still have no tentative date or exact information of what’s missing. Is there something I can do to expedite it? No one knows.

Im blown away by American Fences service! The quote process, price, install, and all were normal Id say. Fantastic overall! But thats what I expect when I hire someone. The service, though, was impeccable! Since winter has begun, my gates were misaligned due to contraction of the wood. I called and left a voicemail. I thought Id get a call back, and I was a bit worried that I didnt get a call back that day, but the fellow came out the next morning and fixed it all without even calling me! My gates are working perfectly now, and I didnt even have to do anything more than leave a voicemail!! Now thats service. I HIGHLY recommend American Fence! Thanks again for the fantastic service!

They came and fixed my automatic gate. The repair was too extensive for me to do on my own. Even though they didn’t install the gate, they repaired it for a reasonable price. Very satisfied.

Ive purchased two homes in the area and had American Fence fence-in the backyards at both places, because I have dogs. At the first house, I chose the more common cedar fence, which I stained that following summer. The fence held up to our extreme South Dakota weather wonderfully and was a nice selling point when I went to sell that home. At my new home, they installed white PVC fencing. It really defines the backyard and adds curb appeal to the house. I love it! The guys at American Fence are great to work with and get the job done right. I would recommend them to anyone...just ask for Erik!

American Fence is a great company for getting fence installed or for just buying the materials needed to do it yourself . Their material salesman Nate is very easy to work with and is always helpful. We are always greeted with a smile and polite conversation. He makes sure to always have our material ready for us, even if its on short notice. They installed our fence two years ago. Now got a bid to replace a small section damaged by the tornado and it’s half the cost it was to put the whole fence in. Insurance adjuster said it was 4 times what the going rate should be. Gouging?
