If I could give negative stars I would. First and last time Ill rent from any U-haul. My wife was treated rudely when calling to check availability. Rented a trailer to haul my daughters stuff from Sioux Falls SD to Braham MN (4.5 hours one way). They never asked what kind of rental we wanted. We were given an In-town rental (I had no idea there was such a thing) which has to be returned to the store rented from. Which I realized the next morning when were already home. I returned it to my local U-haul to find out I should have rented a one-way rental. What should have been a $20 rental cost that we were quoted rudely, cost us a little under $300 with what they call a wrong destination fee. I called the store and the customer service to be told You should have read the contract. Oh, you mean the contract on the small debt card screen? Yeah that screen. Never again!!!

They need to hire a second hitch installer (or cross-train someone onsite).1. Ordered our hitch online on 4/27, planning on staying with the car. During checkout, the appointment was changed to leave the car which means you might have to wait until the end of the day to get your car back.2. I called the local number, but after 4 rings, it gets redirected to the corporate customer service center.3. Over the phone, we rescheduled for 5/15 (Saturday).4. On 5/7, I received a call from the local Uhaul to confirm our appointment.5. Arrived on 5/15 at the scheduled time, gave them our key and they said theyd call when it was done.6. Three hours later, we received a call that the installer doesnt work on weekends...7. The schedule for the following week was full so we agreed on 5/26 for the installation.8. On 5/20, we received another call that the installer would be on vacation the following week.9. We were able to have the hitch installed on 5/21, nearly a month after purchase.The installation went well, but the appointment scheduling process needs to be improved.

Went in to get boxes and there were people that had been waiting over 20 minutes and hadnt seen a worker. I called the store and got the call center.I was told they couldnt reach the workers. Several people walked out including us! Horrible customer service!!!

We came in to get a Uhaul today and we had every problem you could with trying to get it installed we didnt mind tho because the employees where very kind and accommodating. Taylor especially helped out a lot and troble shooter everything expertly.

Avoid this location if at all possible. Customer service is subpar at best. Employees arent trained and couldnt use their own comouter systems. Got a truck that had a service engine soon light on....really? While I was completing my paperwork, another employee tried to rent the car dolly that was on the truck I had just rented. Also good luck getting them to answer the phone, almost impossible to actually get through to someone.

My mother rented here and its nice and secure and all but we notified them we would be moving to a closer to home storage 2 weeks in advance and got the unit cleaned out the day before the next month was due and they charged her the next months charge, but thats not the worst part. They charged her a late fee but the whole time she had the unit, it was on direct deposit. And the staff dont know how to answer the phone because she sat on hold for 2 hours 2 days in a row and no one at the location would answer until it got transferred to a out of state call center but eventually we had to drive down there to actually speak face to face with someone there. Plus one of the employees who drives a white suburban parks in one of two unloading and loading bays.

This was an unfortunate task that fell upon me. I did not want to do this but it was necessary. I am so glad that I came upon great people. Even among the current crisis they were open, professional and Social distancing was observed at all times. I have never had to use my trailer lighting connector but they were happy to test it to make sure it was good. Also, I explained that the hitch ball that came with the truck wasn’t tight and they torqued it down and made it safe. A very smooth hook up of trailer to truck and great attitudes all around.And, through the magic of U-Haul, I was able to drop the trailer off close to my destination.

Rented a van last week. Before I left, i looked at mileage on contract vs mileage on van.it was off by 27 miles. went back in, and let them know of difference. he corrected mileage by entering new reading, and signing off on it. when I got the bill they billed me for the extra 27 miles. I have emailed them twice to correct this, but they will not even respond.

We did the online check in to keep it simple and quick. Our truck was not parked even close to where the online check in said it was. Additionally, we had to wait in line for forty minutes to simply ask for our key....a transaction that only took thirty seconds. The line behind us was twice as long as when we came in. It would be smart to have different kiosks doing fast tasks as opposed to the time consuming ones. Perhaps someone to triage what the customer wants, would benefit everyone. It was a very annoying experience overall.

When we moved apartments on two different occasions we used this company to rent a truck for our items. I would just suggest not going online and doing an online rental for one of their small pickup locations at a business. We did that the first time and once we had finalized everything online ahead of time and went to pick up at the location we selected, we were told that they didnt have that size truck and suggested we go to the main location which is this one. When we got there they were confused why the first place I went would turn us away when the online service said they had that truck in and let us reserve it and pay for it. They accommodated for the issues we had an resolved everything remotely fast and we appreciate the employees who helped us here and maybe a little bit of our luck that they had a truck available for us!

I came in tired and weary from a long day in, I hand the keys back to this overwhelmingly beautiful woman only to realize Im following her like a lost puppy, I snap back to my tired senses and am smiling ear to ear because she hiccuped... Anyways she got me my correct change.... Im assuming she got me the correct change because at this point Im just lost in a fantastic smile.Aside from her beauty, she was swift and had me ready to face the world again.Friendly, comforting, and reliable. This is what the world needs more of.Thank you again.

Id give no stars if they had the option. I rented a $15 trailer on Wednesday and returned it on the same day. I woke up this morning to 2 charges for 2 separate days, I call in to get it straightened out and rather than just refund the 1 return they ended up without my permission charging my card for a 3rd day and supposedly refunding the other 2 so now Ive got 3 days in my bank account. So now Ive got 50 out of my bank account for a 15 daily rental that I had for maybe 6 hours. Straight up crooks and a horrible business.

Customer service from the representative I interacted with was cold, minimal, and borderline hostile. An employee that was helping me did not utter a single word to me until I took the receipt from him and walked away shaking my head. He then decided it was appropriate to ask me what my problem was and couldnt seem to comprehend that his terrible customer service was the problem. Id recommend going anywhere else in the entire world than this establishment.

Terrible customer service.The half dozen employees at the store were much more concerned with the store manager ordering only 4 pizzas--the cheap ass rather than with helping problem solve for their customers.My advice to U-Haul would be to remind, and emphasize, the service aspect of being a Customer Service Representative during the next staff meeting.Moving is generally a stressful time in the lives of your customers. I, for one, would have been greatly appreciative of having a friendly, helpful, & intelligent staff to help me hit the road in a timely fashion.Unfortunately, I what I encountered was a hostile, stubborn & inflexible representative who seemed greatly put-off by my mere presence at the store.All of this after spending almost 20 minutes (17:34 to be exact) on hold earlier in the day as I waited to be transferred from department to department (building to building?) to find the actual location of the trailer I had rented.Please take my review as you will. After all, what do I know? I willfully disclose that I am not a professional mover. I am simply a future Penske customer.

Brought my van there, confirmed my appointment, gave them my keys, had my wife pick me up and went home. 10 minutes later the phone rings and they say they couldnt do it today...what does appointment mean in UHAUL world? Made a reservation, for a larger truck.. couldnt pick it up because their card system was down, and the gal didnt know how to run cards manually.. had to come back, had the reservation bumped back, so we didnt lose the truck.. came back, and they just cancelled the truck we reserved.. so, we are stuck with a smaller truck, with no ramp and making 4 trips.. by the look on the gals face, and the sorry.. they dont care

Horrible customer service! Dont use a debit or credit card because store will keep it and fraudulently charge it. Store manager authorized to charge my debit card without my permission for a storage unit AND charge me a late fee. I have called four times and NEVER even gotten a single call back or credit. Worse yet, when I tried to escalate to file a formal complaint, representatives made empty promises of results and call backs. Hopefully legal action will get me further than dealing with this company did

Was charged for 2 rental periods when the vehicle trailer was returned the same day I rented. When I called to speak with the manager, I was told he was unavailable because they were closing in the next 10 minutes. I was under the impression that if a business was open, then business was being conducted. Apparently Uhaul doesnt want to be seen as a valid business. I would recommend them to nobody.

I have rented multiple trailers from this location and never had any issues. However, I have frequently had issues with other dealers in Sioux Falls.On my last trip (one way rental), another dealer gave me the trailer but did not check the trailer lights until I was to leave. The left side running lights were all out (obvious wiring issues). That dealer refused to fix the lights and let me off the lot (a no-no for U-Haul). I immediately took the trailer to the location in this review. Eric (manager) ensured apologized for the other bad dealer location (not affiliated with him) and had my trailer fixed in 15 mins.Also, at my request, Jordan (assistant manager) rerouted my trailer from my destination to another location 60 miles away. On my 15 hour trip, this small location change cut over half off my trailer bill.This team has always gone the extra mile and I would recommend them to anybody.

Avoid...especially on the weekends. Poor service, inaccurate information; moved from out of state...never returned our calls...when we arrived, learned they had NO elevator for the 2nd floor and had to switch locations. Being new it took us forever to find the facility based on staff directions. A little bit of staff training can go a long way! We had to report a SERIOUS security violation that we observed during 5 trips to storage.

We scheduled a rental with a truck from this location and then got a call the day before our rental shouldve began saying Theres no longer a truck available for you. The poorly trained representative said You could just drive to Sioux City IA and pick one up there. Right.... So now fulfilling this agreement is my problem?Little to no concern was expressed over what became a major inconvenience for us. Fortunately we were able to arrange with the landlords to stay an extra day, but this was a big hiccup. The reason given? Someone else extended their travels by one day online, and they didnt put our reservation in the calendar. (Weeks beforehand)Id need to experience more respect from the company before I would book trucks with them again.

Had trailer tire troubles during our cross country trip. Roadside service couldnt find spare tires so we were directed here. Brandon was a great help getting us set up with a replacement trailer. We were done and back on the road in no time.

Absolutely awful. We reserved a truck two weeks in advanced to be picked up at 830 AM, then two days before our move we get a confirmation call saying we could pick the truck up @ 130 PM. I called back and said that absolutely did not work and isnt what we originally agreed on. The guy who helped me on the phone was very nice. Upgraded us a truck size bigger for free and said we could pick up @ 7 AM for 24hr. Three hours later i get another call to confirm our pick up time of 230 PM! The lady was entirely rude and basically called me a liar. So we went with penske, a little more expensive but at least youre not getting screwed over! Twice. Id give no stars if i could.

The staff at this location missed the trailer on our reservation and sent us to a couple different places to get the trailer but none of the other locations had them or they were closed when we got there.The staff hadnt been very helpful at this location so I had called 1 800 Uhaul to file a complaint. The manager was unable to meet our expectations with what we needed for it to be corrected, but did refund our money.A couple days later a different representative called and made it right so I am happy with the company itself and will rent from them again, but I wont come to this specific location anymore.My advice would be to contact 1 800 Uhaul directly if you are unhappy with your service.

Just the worst experience. They cannot be reached by phone. The store sends all calls directly to the call center. They also dont bother to call you about your own service, so coming into the store to get your vehicle could come with a surprise because they used different parts in your service even though you had contracted and paid before coming in. They just expect to charge you extra after breaching a contract. No mechanic would ever do this to you. Other issues all over and I leave almost in tears each time I have to deal with them. Would never reccommend. Looks like theyre getting fake positive reviews on the uhaul site too. Dont believe it.

Reserved a 26 foot truck a week before we were supposed to move. Got a call the day before saying I would have to go 100 miles away to get my truck otherwise I could have a 15 foot truck. My wife and I were moving to Minneapolis so this wasnt an option. Do not go with this company. They obviously do not value you as a customer and did not even care that I had reserved something way larger but were offering me something half the size. Horrible customer service.

This is the worst storage unit I have ever had and worst service. (I have had a total of four storage units.) I had this storage unit for three months but was charged for four. What is the point of having a storage unit if you cant access it or move when you need to?The first time I swiped my card to access my unit at night after work, the alarm sounded.. The alarm sounded for over ten minutes with absolutely no notifications to uhaul or police. Had I been robbing the place, it would have been easy. I even called the emergency number while the alarm was sounding and had no response or call back.I notified staff who was completely unaware about it the next day. Although friendly turned out to be superficial. Over the course of the next month, the card reader stopped working altogether, so that I could not access storage other than staffed hours. They said they would refund my small night access payment but they never did. I tried moving out before the next month several times after work and over the holidays but could not access my unit, even during regular hours since office was closed on Holiday.I asked to be given a few extra days after the 1rst of the next month to move, staff said they would not charge me but did anyway. Was cleared by the 5th of the next month, for which I asked for a refund after I was that I was billed anyway. Staff said they would refund me but was never given refund.Wrongfully charged a whole extra month and a waste of time talking to staff or calling uhaul headquarters. Alarm experience was horrifying.The uhaul service was ok, in fact, even good, but this place should not offer false services.
