The store is a one stop shop for all Persian/Middle Eastern groceries! They even have some great Persian sweets and breads frozen so that they stay fresh. I highly recommend you visit Peyvand youll find lots of things you need and didnt even realize you needed! Also, the store owner is a very nice man who is always a pleasure each time I visit. Highly recommend!!!
Best place to get Persian candy in the Midwest
I’m not sure what the issue is Alford those who are rating this store less than it deserves. The store is the only one serving the Persian community in the north and has everything needed. Yes, it’s run by an older gentleman who might need time to get to the front if there is a customer. For the person suggesting the owner was rude to women, it’s absolutely untrue. I’ve shopped on my own as a woman and also with my mom He’s always been cheerful, polite and helpful.
Great little Persian store that has everything you might need for your Persian pantry/kitchen. The owner is very kind and helpful, the prices are very reasonable too. My wife and I always try to stop in there whenever we are in Chicago.
The owner is beyond rude!!!!! He was pointing his finger at me and told me that I should know my place and not speak, because Im a woman and he will speak to the man only (my husband and I stopped by since we always pass by, but never went inside of the store) Needless to say, we will never be back, not did we buy anything from him. There is a great store just down the street, Pita Inn, next to the former Pita Inn restaurant.
Good prices (especially on nuts!), and the owner is helpful and friendly.
Owner is friendly & very helpful. He gave great advice on ingredients and Persian recipes.Store is open 10 am - 8:30 pm daily!
Very pleasant experienceto shop here. Has a complete line Sadat spices and pomegranate sauces.
