Skokie Ace Hardware is a great store! They provide excellent customer service, quality products, competitive pricing and value their customers. This past February I purchased an Ariens snowblower by phone during a snowy week (2 ft of snow). Liz was so helpful and friendly - she had it assembled/delivered the following day. Because of the amazing service I received from Liz, I returned to Skokie Ace yesterday to purchase a Weber Genesis grill. Danny was also wonderful and very knowledgeable - he helped me pick the perfect grill! Danny will assemble/deliver the grill today - what service! I also had the pleasure of meeting Liz in person and watch her in action while she greeted most of the customers by their first name. I highly recommend Skokie Ace Hardware - they provide amazing service and value their customers!

All of the ACE hardwares are excellent and very helpful. Might not be the friendliest, but they are highly skilled and knowledgeable when you want to fix home issues!!!

It would’ve been nice to go in and see, but it’s impossible to find parking. After driving around for 10 minutes, driving through alleys, turning off and around Oakton in an attempt to get to the other side because there is no where to make a U-turn and getting blocked because a lot of roads don’t cut back through, I gave up and went to Home Depot. I’d love to support the smaller guy, but I don’t have the time to waste driving in circles attempting to find parking. One of the reasons I was going here was because I thought it would be simpler driving 3 miles away to a local store, but it simply wasn’t. I’d also love to support downtown Skokie, but clearly no thought went into helping people park and get to their final destination. I wouldn’t be surprised if this a contributing factor to how almost everything in downtown Skokie goes out of business within a couple of years. If I had a business there, I’d complain to the Village because it’s only going to get worse with the new condos opening soon. Sorry guys.

Store has everything and have been going there for years. Convenient parking. Current customer service is lackingNo communication with customers on pickup orders, etc and the front end clerk Liz is plain nasty. Watch your receipts too for overcharges.

These guys didnt know where their items were, the cashier was charging a customer ahead of me $7.99 for for a item that was marked 2.99, the customer had to point it out to him, they didnt know what they were doing.

The Skokie Ace is extremely helpful and they have a large variety of stock. Their keys work and are priced right as are many unique items.

This is a great hardware store to spend your money. Spend it locally, and get excellent service and top notch advisor who will ask you what they can help you with today? Prices are competitive and if you are buying a big ticket merchandise ask the manager if they can do better and they will definitely do it to earn and keep your business. I have been frequently Big Orange or Big Green super stores, I shall be going to those only if Ace Hardware can’t help me with something. Danny is awesome, and there is another Manager I can’t remember his name, who is also awesome as well.

We have been coming here since we moved to Skokie 7 years ago. Staff is always friendly and helpful. Always able to find what I need from this place. In comparison with they other big orange/blue store, I was and to find exactly what I need (dimension and quantity).Not to mention the brand of jam they carry in the store is delicious!!

Skokie Ace is a fantastic place to shopYou are greeted upon entering and asked if you need help finding anything. Every employee is knowledgeable about the items in their department and if they dont have it, they figure out how to make it or they know where to send you to purchase what you need. They sell some items one wouldnt expect to find in a hardware store, (nice socks) and offer free fresh made popcorn to snack on. I highly recommend shopping here.

I ordered something online and wish I would have had it delivered instead of going here to pick it up. The tall young salesperson with glasses and a bad haircut had me go to the paint counter to pick up my item. When I wanted to buy something I saw on the counter he could not ring me up there and expected me to wait behind someone who had a bunch of items. He was helping me first and should have just rung me up for the one item. He had zero common sense about customer service. I ended up putting the item back and leaving. Your sale people are costing you sales because of the lack of common sense.

Ive been going to this Ace Hardware in Skokie for 45+ years, not sure that I need to say much more than that! But, I will. Obviously not as big as the big box stores & in my book, thats usually a good thing. Old school hardware store with alot of the same people working there since... forever! Nice, very knowledgeable & before all of this pandemic, always had a free sample of popcorn🍿 for you as you were checking out (I sure hope that those days arent gone & will come back soon)

I love this place. My family has been in Skokie since 1972. I remember going with my dad when I was 7 years old. I am 54 now. It was magical. Still one of the best laid out hardware store in which I have been. I have never not found what I needed. Even repaired my roller blades as a kid with Skokie ace parts. Thank god I was skating in the park on oakton by the pool nearby.

You dont get this type of service at the big stores or online. Walk in and ask where something is and they will tell you if they have it, walk you to it, and give advice if you want it.

I have stopped in to this ACE over the last four years and they have always had exactly what I needed: wood glue to reinforce an IKEA dresser, an extender for a ratchet set to replace a car battery, a weber grill grate, and gardening supplies. It has a classic layout and employees that know their business.

People ask how ace in business with Home Depot and menards on every corner?... because when you walk into ACE people help they dont run away like a cockroach at the big guy stores, its a great place especially for odd fasteners etc... its nice to shop local too I love this store

Friendly staff, we bought a grill-- food price but not true to their promise with delivery. It was supposed to be delivered on mothers day and they didnt come through with the promise.

Great spot for small odd tools or things you need. I had them redo my screen except they had to do it twice because I showed them that it was falling apart. They were also pretty expensive. Only reason I like this place is because its small - customer service is pretty good and I hate Home Depot.

I needed one screen for a screen door unfortunately I sent my mom there to pick it up and the guy said it was like five dollars for a screen 40 x 28 a roll I know we had a Menards would be like seven dollars for a roll that would be 48 by probably 8 feet they charged us $18 for one piece that was 40” x 32” ridiculous with everything going on if you have money to burn give them your business if you don’t

There has been times where the staff were friendly. But now it seems that it is run by two boys. I dont appreciate that as I am making my purchase and making sure that the price is right on the pad before I agree to it, the boy at the register has decided to do it for me -to hasten the whole check out process, Im assuming. And then takes out my card before it even says to do so. I wanted to pay via debit and enter my pin but since he decided to do all the pressing of buttons on the pinpad with agreeing the payment and so on, I paid via credit. So really, I did not get to choose how to pay as a customer. 3 stars is being generous for such lack of consideration.

I only stopped here because they are one of the few spots in town that sell Pibb Xtra. That’s right! If you want a quick snack and Pibb soda in a bottle, this Ace Hardware has your back.The soda cooler is at the back of the store, left of the checkout counter.
