10 out of 5 stars - WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND this location.I don’t think I can say enough good words about this location and it’s owner, Peter! I’ve had the BEST experiences as a customer here. Peter is extremely knowledgeable, patient and invested in providing the best experience. I’m a new commercial building owner and he has taken the time to guide and educate on different paint options for all our needs. As a recent example - I went into the store a couple of days ago and was unable to get a specific primer I needed (nationwide stock shortage). Well, a day later the stock magically came in and Peter CALLED me as soon as it did! On his own accord. Outstanding customer service!

Went here because it was highly recommended by my boss. I was not disappointed, actually they took the time to show me how to apply the stain and varnish to my new windows. TIts quite a drive to get here and I pass several big box hardware stores but its definitely worth coming here!!!!!

Older gentleman working behind the counter clearly doesn’t believe women should be customers. I’ve never been spoken to so disdainfully.

GO SEE PETE, the dude knows his stuff and being a pro myself who has painted for 10+ years, I know I can trust his knowledge of product. He does his research and he also asks the pros what they use and why. He has had me try things out so that he can give reference to future customers. Keep up the good work Pete.

Peter is very helpful and knowledgeable. Every time I tell him what color family I’m looking for; a few questions later and he comes up with the perfect color even when I pick something else, I come back to his suggestion.

I was greeted immediately when I walked in and helped right away with the paint colors I was looking for. My experience was very pleasant here and the gentleman working was knowledgeable, gave good recommendations, and carried the 4 gallons of paint I purchased to my car. Ill certainly be back when we are ready to paint more rooms.

Boy did I stumble into a gem! I’m in the process of painting a whole house and arrived in the store with lots of ideas but in great need of direction. Peter and Steve are the artist and the alchemist. They both know their stuff and can guide you with confidence. Peter has been very patient and helpful with my endless musings and revisions and Steve has helped me tweak colors to find just the right shade. They provide high quality customer service and will make you feel well cared for. Though there is a paint store closer to my home, it’s worth the drive to Skokie for the quality product and quality care.

New to Skokie, and needed help with paint colors to create a personal feeling to our new home. Peter Ryczek at Skokie Paint and Benjamin Moore paints, is a fantastic listener and wonderful with understanding color. He listened-to me, and offered different color ideas and helped me think what kind of feeling I wanted as well as and end look to the room and how it would relate to furnishings etc. Not only is he great with color, knows products and can help with many projects - as I listened to him help different customers while there. A great gem in Skokie for primo paints and expert help.

Steve isnt just a store owner, he was a professional painter for decades. This is a real paint store, not like home depot. If Steve tell you something, its because he speaks from expirience. Expert advice, expert color matching, excellent store.

Everytime I have a painting project, the owner sets me up with the best products (not the most expensive)! I dont consider myself to be particularly good at painting, but because of the help and expertise I get from this store, my end results exceed my expectation. This is a perfect example of small home-town store knowlege that you dont get at the big stores. Skokie Paint offers great products and impressive expert advice.....I would give it 6 stars if I could.

Needed some paint for one of our bedrooms. Was super friendly and great selection.

We are homeowner newbs and were shocked when our bathroom paint started peeling. We don’t have a vent and it gets really steamy when using the shower. We had no idea what we were doing and didn’t know who to ask.Turns out the owner of Skokie paint was a painter for most of his career so he walked us through what we needed to use in a place as steam filled as a bathroom (aqua lock primer, and ceramic based paint). Problem solved!
