Received my first shipment this week. Custom Seafood exceeded my expectations! There was so much meat on the king crab I was able to make crab patties the next day. I would HIGHLY recommend ordering from Custom Seafoods.

Prompt service and fair price. Had them process and box up our catch for the flight. After 22 hours from initial boxing, filets were still hard as a rock (frozen).

The line gets pretty long when the beer flows like wine, where beautiful women instinctively flock like the salmon of Capistrano. A little place called the Kenai River. The process was fairly straightforward. Took 48 hours to process the salmon.

These guys were to busy for us, and they told us it would be 3 days before they cod process of fish, which I understand they are busy but another processor was able to help in town that was also very busy.

Decent deal on boxes for shipping, had to wait a little for someone to help us.

Updated as of 2020-07-26: I was contacted by the manager. She asked me to explain my experience, and apologized for the poor service and product we received. She provided information (not excuses) and then fully refunded our processing charges. This is good follow-up service and I hope that people receive this level of service on the front line in the future. We will try CSP again to see if we have a better experience. // Updated as of 2020-07-21: We used to love this place. We used them year after year to process all manner of seafood. But this year has been a completely different experience. First, the quality of the processing is horrible now; look at the photo. Our halibut was brought in the same as every other year and yet this is the terrible product we received. Second, their hours have changed greatly whereby they are closed during the times that people bring in and pick up fish. Third, there seems to be a very different customer service mindset. They were literally just sitting around until we showed up. And we were bounced from door to door to door, whereby no one seemed to know where we would get helped. It used to be that well-informed and hard-working employees were around everywhere and taking care of a myriad of tasks. Such a shame to see the decline at this once great place. //Very well run, professional company that will process your seafood. Whether you want just partial processing or full processing, packing and shipping, they are well set up to handle it. Our refrigerator is out so we need flash freezing. They were able to fillet, vacuum pack and freeze our 13 reds within 24 hours.

I used Custom Seafood Processors twice to flash freeze and smoke fish I caught while on vacation. They prepared 50 pound insulated frozen packages that we took on the plane back home. Ive tried several different vendors for smoked salmon. I used to buy from Costco until they went to farmed salmon which didnt taste as good and needed food coloring to make it look the right color. After that I ordered and had shipped from Custom Seafood Processors their hickory smoked salmon. They ship overnight. I didnt know what I was missing. Custom Seafood Processors hickory smoked salmon is by far the best smoked salmon I have ever had.

We have used several different processors on our trips in Alaska and Custom has been by far the best both price and quality of the fillet. If you need to have any processing done these guys know what they are doing. Plus check our the gifts they have inside, lot of local products to pick up while you are picking up or dropping off.

Zero stars. They lost my fish!!!!!!15lbs of red salmon plus a extra 20lbs of red we purchased there. They tried to make it right in giving us their fish but that takes away from the trip. Eating the fish you caught. After a lot of money being spent on a trip this was not the way to end it. They came highly recommended unfortunately. Go some place else

Except maybe invest in better quality bags. I rather pay more and know that my fish remain sealed and dont get freezer burnt due to losing its seal.

Awssome job. Took in my caribou scraps and had hamburger made and German sausage hot links made, they are to die for. even friends that havent had caribou German sausage from these guys or ever loved it. I will definitely be taken this years meat to them.Great job Gals and Guys.

Good service

Their turnaround was 48 hours, you could exchange your salmon though. They would only take filleted salmon at the time. The staff was really nice and helpful. The place was nice and clean. But they did neglect to tell us that we could box our own salmon for flight and charged us $8 boxing fee per box. When we got homewe found some of the salmon in single-serve portions when we asked for all filet.

CUSTOM SEAFOOD PROCESSORSI posted last week of the over charging I got when I dropped off some meat at this processors. I was charged by the quarter instead of by the incoming weight like usual and was rudely informed that they even wrote it down on the receipt of how I would be charged. WRONG I have both copies of the receipts (the carbon copy you get when you drop it off and the receipt when you pick it up) and the price of being charged by the quarter was added on at a different time after the meat was dropped off. Well when I was contacted to let me know that it was done I was told I was charged almost 200 dollars for 77 lbs of incoming meat. It didnt really register at the moment because I was at work. After a minute of thinking about it I realized that the price was way higher than the .89 per pound they advertise so I called back, thats the first time I was told of how they charge for deer meat that they charge per quarter instead of incoming weight. Well I let her know that there wasnt as many quarters as I was charged for so she said she adjusted the price. When I picked up the meat today I was still overcharged by two quarters (I know what was there I cleaned and packed it out) she argued with me over the 30 extra dollars charged for the two quarters that were not there so I paid it and told her I would never be doing business with them again. This was not the first time I was not happy with their service. If I had missed how they charged for processing deer meat I would have paid and just never brought deer back in there, however when the price for processing deer is different than moose or caribou it should be added to their brochure, which it is not and if they are going to charge by the quarter then dont steal from people by charging them for more quarters than actually came in, and dont steal by adding in a different price structure than is advertised after the meat is dropped off without informing the customer until after the fact.I am the type of customer that if I am treated fair I will do everything to help that business out by spreading the word of good service but I am also the customer that will scream even louder when I am screwed over and I was screwed over stolen from and ripped off by CUSTOM SEAFOOD PROCESSORS in Soldotna.I know I am not the only one that has been taken by this place because more than once I have stood up for them when others told me of how they were treated. Well I am no longer a fan hopefully word will spread before another person is ripped off and they can take their business elsewhere.

The people working here are knowledgeable and quiet helpful.No problems with the fish they processed.

One warning about this place. during the busy summer months, you do NOT get your own fish back. They take all salmon fillets, load them up in a big fish tote and then you get your WEIGHT of fish back. Personally, I know I take good care of my fish and fillet them well, keep them clean and cold. You may get someone elses warm, sandy garbage back so be careful. If you want a business who guarantees your own fish back, try Echo Lake Meats on K-Beach.

We traded fresh pink fillets for smoked pink fillets w/ a 5$/ lb discount. Smoked fillets are vacuum sealed and frozen. Tasted very good!

Always do a good job, took my moose there this year, have taken a black bear there and had Teriaki sticks made, absolutely the best way to eat bear. Took a brown Bear there and they did what they could lol. Great customer service, they are super nice when I call for payment.

Terrible experience. Threatened to report me to fish and game for wasting meat when I didnt agree to their price gouging. You cant expect locals, who know what pricing should be, to come back when treated like this. Depending solely on gouging the tourists isnt the best strategy imo but luckily I can plan in advance in the future and go elsewhere.

Beware when trading fish. They trade 40% weight of fillet fish for smoked and lox. Talked to kasilof seafoods and we got ripped off. You should get 80% of the weight you trade in back. The only way you should get 40% is if you trade in whole fish. Do not do business with CUSTOM SEAFOOD PROCESSORS! Go to KASILOF SEAFOODS right down the road.

Good service to get fish sent off but a little expensive.

Hours of operation say open at 11 am. Waited until 11:30 am and no one showed up to open shop. Called and left message on answering machine, no call back. Very disappointed as I had no way to package my fish. Terrible way to run a business.

Horrible experience, prices suck and is such a rip off, Im sticking with kasilof seafood such better prices and service, never again will I use custom seafood processing.
