I’ve seldom had a bad experience in a FM store, this time my cashier went beyond polite, friendly and helpful. Marisol was accommodating and helped me save extra money with my rewards card.I went into Freddie’s in Soldotna Ak and forgot my rewards card, she believed me and was just a joy! Very rare to find a kinder cashier anywhere on the Peninsula. Kudos to a great hire! Thank you Marisol 😊

Website says open till 11pm Saturday but was kicked out at 10pm. Not cool.

I think staff make an store. There is some good staff at this Fred Meyers.

I placed a pickup order online, to be picked up between 9:00 and 10:00 am today. When I got to the store, they told me that I could not pick it up until 1:00 pm. So here I sit, waiting until they decide to put my order together. They are not busy right now, but I expect they will make me wait until 1:00 pm.

Nice selection. Some stuff pretty expensive for what it is. Nice fast check out. Convenient location when coming from out of town.

The place was clean, all the staff was friendly and helpful if not a little subdued, except for two. At least one employee actively attempted to ignore us but once she committed to helping us, she was very friendly. The second individual was staffing customer service and was extremely condescending and almost gleefully unhelpful, at one point this person pretended to call the manager for us which would’ve been funny but it was just pathetic because although it can be rough with bad customers, customer service is such an easy job ( I know from experience) you basically just have to be nice and it’s easy to fake but this person didn’t even have enough self respect for that, this individual has a job I’m sure many others would be more than happy to take from them. It’s a real disappointment because I spent a little under a week in Soldotna visiting folks and doing the tourist thing and every single person I ran into was friendly and direct. A few blah wage slaves here and there but that doesn’t really bother me. What really bothers me is will-full mean-spiritedness. This all happened around 11 am, Sunday May 16th 2021.

Freddys has lower prices on somethings some not but they need to learn to open more than 1 or 2 registers during busy times. They really need a baker that knows how to make cheese bagels cause it is bad, half the time they are burnt and there is barely any cheese on them.

This lady close my foot in the door and cut it all the way open and didnt even apologize in the clothing department.

This is the best option when getting general goods in Soldotna.

Great store, it has pretty much everything you could need. Its a multi-department store, allowing for more than just grocery shopping. Whether you need food, electronics, clothes, toys, or furniture, you can go to Fred Meyer and find what you need.

I can always find good deals. Fresh vegetables and a wide selection of meat and seafood.

Groceries, home goods, personal care, clothing, fishing, camping gear and more, also has a good deli and seating area with a starbucks and marginal WiFi.

I’ve always shop at Fred Meyers for years and haven’t complained about anything until today. I understand that it’s very busy season and staff could get overwhelmed but it’s not a reason to be rude to customers.I was in the check out counter and had gotten my total when I asked the cashier about my total. It seemed like it was too much with what I got. He brushed me off and just continued completing the transaction then handed me the receipt. He then said go to customer service. Ben(cashier) was very rude and flatly refused to double checked the merchandise. Had to go to customer service and had to wait for 15 mins since there was a line.Very disappointed. I don’t think it was too much to ask.

Freddys is one of those places where its always a mixed bag. sometimes you get what you want and sometimes you get stuck in line for an hour. It is a popular shopping center and with good reason. Sticker shock on some seemingly random things aside, their prices are reasonable. Their WIC system is deplorablely unreliable, though I suspect this is not exactly their fault. All things considered, this store does try its best, and more often than not, succeeds.

I always shop at Fred meyer, they have everything that we need. Lately they have been out of a lot of essential things because of covid, but that is to be expected. I use the u check all the time and love it. However their pharmacy is a different story.

I just moved to Alaska and have not been able to switch my ID over to an Alaskan ID. I have to wait to get my birth certificate back from my passport application that I started before COVID. So for now, my Arizona must suffice. Arizona IDs do not have expiration dates as they expire when one turns 65. They don’t print expirations on there. I have bought alcohol from the liquor department for the past several weeks and the woman there has even sold me alcohol before. This time she accused me of having a fake ID and refused me service. At least be consistent about it. I’ve never been more embarrassed and I don’t want to shop here ever again

Oh Freddys was fine and I didnt want to shop thare but thare was something I needed so I went there anyways I got this sandwich there

The wait time for deli service is absolutely ridiculous. Summers over yet Im left standing there 20 plus minutes. During the summer it was twice that. You can definitely see they cut staff over there. Love the boars head products but with the length of time spent waiting Ill be going elsewhere.

Im very disappointed with the new policy of only giving sale prices to people who have rewards cards. Ive had the card for years but it gets shared with several family members. I hardly see it anymore. The only products Ill be buying at Fred meyer will be perishables. Hurrah for Amazon!

Ive always been impressed with the hard working people of Soldotna Fred Myers. Even in these difficult times, last week I was going to buy some already packaged meat 1lb and the deli guy behind the counter was like I have the same 1lb meat for only 1 dollar a pound right here, were trying to get rid of it! Just trying to help out in difficult times and also just overall happiness that Deli man made for me and my lady. Thank you Freds and Fred Myers Deli.

Went to bakery to get some garlic bread they only had wheat, asked girl if she had any white French bread to make me some garlic bread. She then had to go ask someone if itd be okay. That part isnt what bothers me she never once spoke to me asking my needs or any friendly chat what so ever. She was so new as well as the other lady I didnt even know there names, Ive been shopping here since its opened and have never not enjoy my interaction with employees, but it seems this last year or so there new employees have no manners or customer service skills.makes me wonder how they are trained!

Im angry about the huge jump in prices recently. I guess we gotta pay for the new services they offer wether we use the services or not.... Lately produce has been rotten in the middle especially onions. Whats up with the cottage cheese? The last 2 cartons I bought was very soupy... Things are costing more and quality is out the door....

High quality products at reasonable prices. Name brands, not China junk. U.S.A meats and produce that they can tell you where it came from, unlike some big stores. Hardware, sporting equipment, clothing, guns and ammo, household, pet, pharmaceutical, fine jewelry, departments just like the big box store. Senior and military discount days. Discount gas station. Best store in Alaska. Whats not to like.

Great sushi!! They make it fresh!! Fresh produce is a great selection and if the quality isnt up to your liking you just let them know and they REPLACE IT!! I was amazed because literally bought collard greens and cooked them and cooked them and they NEVER softened up, they just stayed woody told produce man and he said get some more, satisfaction guaranteed! Also the meat department staff is very helpful with a beautiful selection. Great specials, prices, very good place to shop.

OK for a full service Fred Meyer, compared to others but not a great selection and tends to run out of stock for quite a period of time. A lot. Especially in summer during tourist season. Decent health food section, and are improving it all the time. Staff are friendly and helpful, store clean, deli is well kept and good customer service.

Super clean and everyone is friendly!I was traveling in Soldotna and my daughter was turning 10. I went to the bakery asking for a cake and I just said, “Make me something that’s Alaska themed; feel free to be creative!” This is what I got! Amazing service here!

I love the sale going on at Fred Myers right now. A ton of clothes and shoes are 70% off. I ended up getting an awesome pair of boots for less than twenty dollars. Yay!

Im visiting from Fairbanks and this store has put our Airport Way store to shame in customer service. Every department, Meat, Dairy, liquor, cashier, and produce someone asked me if I needed any help. And then they escorted me to item!! I was a FM employee for many yrs. So I tend to watch employees.Again two thumbs up on excellent customer service.

Store is clean and employees are nice. Once i saw this guy broke the main doors trying to get out of freddies and the staff were able to fix the doors in a timely manner. Go freddies staff.

5 star just because they cater to RV users without issue. Free dump, free water, free overnight. Bravo. Of course we were shoppers and instead of just dinner & breakfast, we also walked away with 70% off flip-flops, shorts, snow boots, etc. etc. Also appreciated the discounted price on produce/meat that was about to expire.

Kroger changed Freds, not a fan now. Will one day accept the changes. But meh.

If you are going to offer bags offer the ones that dont fall apart once Im outside your store!!!! Paper bags are useless. Im so glad that halfway to my vehicle ALL the bags ripped open and all my clothes were all over the parking lot. Thanks a lot for nothing.

This is a wonderful asset for the City of Soldotna,AK.Everyone (tourists and locals) know this to be a landmark, highway stop, shopping center, sporting goods, fuel stop and Kroger savings well reputed on the Kenai Peninsula.We are privileged to have this “right down the highway”.

Attention RVers, there is a free dump station and potable water fill up at this location.

We love Fred Meyer and we have been to so many of them. This on is - like the others - in a very good condition. The staff is super friendly, everything is tidy and clean. As eurpean tourists we were - again - allowed to go with more than five items in the changing rooms to try clothes on. Everything was fine.

Fred Meyers is an all around shopping experience it has groceries to high end clothing to gun sales and also car or truck products. They have friendly staff and very great service with a smile, their produce section is also great offering fresh produce for a very reasonable price. They also have an olive bar and food court so you can get your kids something to snack on while shopping or grab fresh fruits made daily by the self checkout stands. All in all this is a great place for the whole family and if you need to get things done but your babysitter couldnt watch your kids they also offer daycare service so you can shop at ease and un-distracted.

This review is only for the electronics department. Ive been shopping at Kroger for years and started coming here as an alternative when the military moved us to Alaska. The chain is good and I havent had any problems until now.I bought some hp ink and got home to find out that a 65 was packaged in a 64 box. The cartridge didnt come in a package inside the box, which means it probably got put back on the shelf after another customer returned it. I got a replacement without any hassle but the problem is that I live in Homer so I had to drive a total of 3 hours to get the replacement. The manager of the electronics department refused to reimburse me for gas because it was an hp packaging problem.If I could have, I wouldve just bought an hp 64 in Homer and disputed the Fred Meyer purchase with my bank. There just isnt any place in Homer that sells it and I needed to print things. I wont be buying ink here anymore, Amazon prices are similar if not a little cheaper.

Overall the store gets a four star, would be five star due to the services the store offers for passing campers but the nasty attitudes of a few of the locals that work brings it down. Fred Meyer likes campers and the income they bring in during the season, I guess the locals just hate having to work for an income.

Love shopping at Soldotna Fred Meyers. The employees are very helpful and always willing to help and take suggestions. Im in a wheelchair so they make my shopping easy !

I went there specifically to exchange a gift card for money and the machine is broken and theres no sign telling anyone that it is broken. I had to wait in costomer service for 20 minutes just to ask how to work the gift card machine just to be told it was broken. Very disappointed.

A great store a little more expensive than Walmart but cheaper than Safeway and the quality of their products and freshness is much better than both Walmart and Safeway in my opinion

Beautiful store, great prepared food selection, liquor store, coffee, and RV dump station and water fill station for those goo g camping. Truly a store design catered to the local attractions.

Pretty much you basic large box store. I like they added a bulk organic food selection. Has a good selection of clothing, electronic,furniture, and gifty items.

Big clean store. Lots of inventory. Supervised play area for small children while parents shop. Rv overnight parking dump station gas station.

I always have a good experience here, it has a small gluten free section which is very helpful for me. Usually has a good amount of check stands open and I rarely have to wait more than a couple minutes in line.

My favorite place to shop for groceries on the peninsula. The price is better than Safeway, and the quality is better than Walmart. Good for clothes, electronics and misc. items as well.

The best selection one the Peninsula however the new remodel leaves a lot to be desired. Candles, cards and school supplies are closer to garden supplies than housewares, garden center is in the middle of the store where the plants brushed and bruised continuously, clothing department is packed so full you cant walk between the aisles, etc.

Best Grocery store on the Kenai peninsula. Got everything you need and effectively run and maintained. They remodel on a regular basis.

I was looking at cheese and was offered many samples to try. The employee obviously loves his job and found a perfect dessert cheese for me. Everyone in the store was friendly and the store was very clean.

The produce here is better than that of other local stores. It offers a bigger organic produce selection. The have a decent sized bulk section as well as a bigger health and natural foods section. I definitely love shopping here for produce and other groceries, however it seems to be busy no matter what time of day you do your shopping. The store however does their best to make sure that there are always enough cashiers available so customers do not have to wait very long.They carry higher-end clothing and sports apparel like Nike, Under Armor, and Columbia so the clothing prices are a bit higher than a normal store. They offer baby/kids clothes but always seem to have a bigger selection of girl clothes than boy clothes.If you are a bargain hunter then this might not be the place to shop for clothing, but you can usually find a good deal on groceries.

Consistently the best large store on the Peninsula. Make sure to shop the sales, otherwise Costa can be a fair bit higher than other local stores. If it isnt on sale this week, dont worry, it will be next.

Best place for fresh produce and the non GMO selection is the biggest I have seen on the entire Kenai.

Well kept, good selection, unique products (mochi fridge!), definitely a great store to have locally.

Lots of helpful employees. We had fun looking at their guns and the staff was really knowledgeable.

During the summer months, they stay open 24 hours. They are a required stop for us as we go fishing / camping. Prices are reasonable, usually heavily staffed during the spring - fall months.

They have about as much produce as any other grocer in the US. Very impressive for somewhere like Alaska!

The store itself is fine, good prices usually nice employees. But just recently I was shopping at this location and went to the deli, asked for some chicken poppers they employe kindly gave them to me and I wasn’t finished shopping so I thought to pay for them at the self check out with my other groceries. So I went back to shopping and a “undercover employee” saw me walking and immediately started following me. She didn’t do a very good job at keeping her cover. Anyway after about five minutes if that I was getting anoyyed, so I asked her if she worked there. Not even a yes or no, just a rude, “ what do you need.” So I made up an excuse and asked her if they sold the protein mixer bottles. She responded “no” with a rude attitude. So I walked away to just pay for my stuff and leave Because I wasn’t very excited about my experience. She continued to follow me to self checkout and I payed and left. I don’t know what her problem was, mabye your supposed to pay at the deli, but I doubt it because I’ve lived here for 7 years and not once has my mother payed at the deli.

Love looking around and shopping when everything goes on sale cause I feel I get more for my money.

Like Walmart, Fred Meyer fills the niche the other stores dont. They tend to have items that Walmart doesnt.Service is fair but I feel Fred Meyer is always short on staff. So when you got them they are great but finding them can be difficult at times.

Customer service is lacking only because of lack of personnel. Never really had a problem with the store. They are just over worked.

Freddys is the only place for groceries. Carrs will usually introduce random price increases, or computer errors as they call them, but Freddys just offers the correct and advertised price. A place you can trust not to rip you off.

High end items tend to jump up in price when they are put on sale. Clothing is ridiculously over priced. About the only thing I would buy there is produce, and food, which is decent.
