This guy is awesome. My computers hard drive died on me... He replaced the hard drive and reinstalled windows at a very reasonable price. When I ran into a driver issue with some of my bluetooth devices after the replacement, he fixed it with no additional charge. Just wanted to make things right. Great customer service.

Amazing local business, Mario (the proprietor) is a stand up guy. I needed a computer with certain minimum specifications in order to take an online exam. He had an older model that met those specs and quoted a price. When it turned out that model wouldnt run Windows 10, he put together an even better computer for the same price within a few hours. Highly recommend, and will be returning for any computer needs when in the area!

Mario knows his stuff...and he acquires good stuff...and seems to be genuinely interested in helping people who cant afford to buy new get good value. He helped my Ugandan friend who runs an orphanageget a nice laptop for a price we could manage.

Honest. I would come back. These guys identified the problem with my asus but told me it would be too expensive to fix. They removed the hard drive for free so I could recover my data and sent it on my way.Its a small operation and sometimes the communication could be better, but theyre honest and direct, which I really appreciate.

I had a wonderful experience with Mario when my old computers hard drive died without having been backed up (I know, I know). Even though the odds were against it, Mario was able to recover all of the pictures and documents that I had saved on there, which were very important to me. His price was beyond reasonable. I would very happily return to Somerville Computers to have more work done on my computer if I need it. Highly recommend!

Why charge for a computer diagnostic when it was simply an issue with the external hard drive cord? They could have easily diagnosed the problem, but instead just hunted for some quick $. Not helpful at all and not cool.

When a company doesnt have a website, word of mouth is important. You may hear the bad but you also need to hear the good too.I had a laptop that wouldnt power up. No matter what. Tried everything. I called and spoke with Mario at Somerville Computers. He told me that there would be a $35 diagnostic fee to figure out what is wrong, but if was able to fix it, the fee would be waived. Needless to say, he was able to get my computer back up and running for parts and labor. He did find a few things that were also issues (that I sorta knew about) but at the same time I dont feel like personally diving into my laptop to get fixed. He kept me updated throughout the process and I will be going back to get the rest of the items on this laptop fixed and bring in a second laptop that has additional issues.

Ive used them for a number of years and theyre easy to talk to and generally pretty helpful with my Macs. I imagine Id get better service at the Apple Store, know their work would be fantastic, pay 3 times as much and talk with a stranger every time. I like this better.

I have taken my computers here 3 times to have them serviced over the last year. I do my IT for our company, and when Im stumped I bring our computers in. In all occasions, Mario has given me great service at a very reasonable price. I have recommended him to the other businesses in our building when they have had a problem. I dont write many reviews, but having a local business that gives good service at a reasonable price is worth writing about.

Guy ripped me off,charged me $80.00 for a laptop power cord that i later found on Amazon for $9.95. I would have gladly paid $40.00 for his service and convenience but he price gouged. 👎

I spilled coffee on my laptop, damaging the keyboard and trackpad. Apple wanted $800 to ship it out to CA for a repair. I took it to Mario and after giving me a reasonable estimate I decided to go with him. Not only did he complete the work faster than he quoted, he wound up being able to salvage the keyboard and only had to replace the trackpad, reducing the total bill. After a few days and $125 its good as new. I felt he was very honest and would not hesitate to come to him again.

I was skeptical about Somerville Computers especially since its a small shop with no website in Somerville. However, the owner, Mario is very courteous and quick to explain in a polite way the work that he is going to do on your computer.My case today was a minor one - Id stripped the screw of my new samsung laptop as I tried to upgrade the memory and couldnt get the damn thing out. Even though the laptop is in warranty, sending it back to Samsung was going to be more of a hassle and time I didnt want to go through (warranty does not cover shipping laptop to Samsung in Texas)So I decided to give Somerville computers a chance. Mario tried to remove it immediately but couldnt. He had a lot of customers waiting in line so he asked me to leave it behind and hed try later on. I was skeptical that he was going to make it seem like it took forever to fix.However, 2hrs later he called me back and let me know my laptop was ready. On getting there, he only charged me $5 and as a courtesy replaced my screw with a new one. Note: that he usually charges a $35 diagnostic fee.Its nice to know that there are still some honest small businesses out there in Somerville and thats why Im writing this review. Hope it helps others out there.
