Adrian Archibeque was literally wonderful. He wasn’t aggressive, very personable, he listened to what I wanted, created a very welcoming and fun environment, and was professional while still remembering that sales isn’t a transaction but an interaction. I bought my first brand new car on my own from Ocean Honda and it was all because of Adrian’s calm demeanor and catering characteristics. Sometimes it’s the little things in customer service based jobs like bringing snacks over when they say they’re hungry or even sitting there joking around while we waited or even sending a card personalized after the purchase and if you need a car I’d recommend Adrian every single time.

UPDATE 06/29:The service manager contacted me promptly in the evening of 06/28 (when I posted the original review) and offered to install the part the next day waiving the charge for the labor (~2hrs). I appreciated the quick response and his offer to make up for my negative experience. This ended up saving me over $150 with respect to what I was originally quoted. Also, no wait time at the drop off today.Im happy with the service I received now, hence updating my rating to 4 stars. I will update this to 5 stars if the next couple of services will go smoothly.ORIGINAL REVIEW 06/28:I contacted the dealer for a service on my car. I was quoted $399 including parts and service. I called back the next day to make the appointment, and asked again to confirm the price, they confirmed. I brought the car in this morning for the appointment, it took 50 minutes to check-in, yes 50 minutes to check-in with the appointment....and then the person brought me in to sign in the service agreement and gave me a new quote over $600 ... I told them I was quoted $399 and confirmed twice before coming in, but it doesnt matter, they dont have it on record since they were phone calls... All they offered was 10% off this inflated price, still well above what I was quoted.Long story short: dont trust these people, at least over the phone, and make sure they send you an email with the quote before going in, Also expect an insane waiting time to drop off your car, even if you have an appointment.

Im writing this about the Parts Department Manager, Jaime C. I called in on a Friday, right at 5pm as they were closing. Jamie picked up the phone and helped me to push through an order for parts I desperately needed.Come Tuesday, I resolved my issue and no longer needed the parts.I walked in, and Jamie helped me with my refund and got me all squared away. I felt a bit guilty, but he was super cool about it and had me out the door quickly. Great attitude and ethics.Thanks again!

Dont like costumer service at the service/ repair department. Also u need to pay a diagnostic fee for each part u want them to look at. An oil change was just $99, reminds me why I go to valvoline instant oil, they always send me great coupons, unlike OSH

This locations sales and management are deceitful buyer beware. I went to buy a 2022 Honda at this dealership last week. They had no cars in stock but said they expected delivery in 2 weeks. The salesman quoted a price 6000 Dollars higher than the going rate for the car and made optional add-ons mandatory. They requested a full amount check to be held until the car arrives. No sales contract was signed. I did price matching at other dealerships and immediately realized they were trying to scam an additional 6000 dollars. I canceled the agreement the next day by phone with the salesperson and told the salesperson why. The day after they attempted to cash my check for the full amount as retaliation and management stated that they had every right to do so. I cancelled the check beforehand and moved on but this dealership has no integrity; be very careful at this location.

I frequently have my car serviced here and was very impressed with the customer service I received from Alexis Ortiz who was my service advisor. Alexis took the time to explain to me each of the suggested services and was willing to answer any question I had. He was very friendly and knowledgeable and he even gave me a breakdown of the prices to help me understand the cost of each service.

I meet with Jeff Winton. I heard he was an honest guy with lots of great experience. I was thrilled with my car buying experience. He answered all my questions was very patient with me. He took me on a ride let me drive and showed me all the features of the car. He gave me a chance to drive two cars and helped me choose which one I was going to buy. I love my new car. I will come back to Ocean Honda again everyone was friendly and helpful.

Avoid the maintenance department here if at all possible. After owning Hondas for 20 years, we are seriously considering switching to another brand just to avoid having to deal with them. Terrible service and inflated prices.Examples: We wanted to have a bike rack hitch installed on our 2012 Honda Odyssey. They asked 2X for the parts compared to the price from Amazon, and wanted to charge 3X as much for labor as the very high quality Honda shop just down the road. Weve been called in multiple time for recall issues, only to find that the part was not in stock. Our friend had the catalytic converter stolen from off her Accord. They wanted $6,100 to replace it.

Fine dealership, good inventory. But the sales tactics are old fashioned and depend on negotiating everything. They also call incessantly if you show any interest. But theyre very difficult to actually deal with since everything feels like a tactic instead of a conversation. Sales people have limited ability to give answers so everything has to go back to the manager which drags every step out. Their trade in estimates are well below blue book and you can often do better yourself.

This is a great place to go if you want to empty your bank account for unnecessary service. If you want to feel like just another number and not an actual person, go here. I have never had a good experience in the seven years I have been going here and finally decided to look around. I highly suggest looking around. You might find a great little Japanese auto repair in the Live Oak area off of Brommer that won’t charge you an arm and a leg to change your brake light.

We bought a CRV from Ocean Honda last year in January with about 21K miles and Ill say its a comfortable car that performs well. However we bought a car doc extended service plan for an extra 3K more or less and its fairly worthless. It is supposed to cover oil changes but youll have to pay extra for the oil they recommend. We took it in for recommended service for a Transmission fluid change and air and cabin filters and even though the car doc extended service says filters are covered we were still charged over $750. in parts and labor. Now weve taken it in for another service on the blind spot info system and the minimum charge to look at it is $189. So all in all weve had the car a little over a year, driven about 10,500 miles and have had out of pocket maintenance costs of over $1000 on a car that still doesnt even have 36,000 miles on it. That adds up to an extra $100. for every 1050 miles weve driven. Not a very good track record if you ask me. Buyer beware, the car doc extended service plan is worthless and Ocean Honda will try to sell it to you leading you to believe its going to save you a lot of money. What will actually save you money is buying a Toyota. My Tacoma with just over 100K on it still hasnt cost me $1000 dollars in maintenance.Now, thankfully, Dave the service manager, got wind of our displeasure and did his best to make things a bit more palatable. We appreciate the effort on his part. Now if they would just update the information on the emergency brake, it might be worth considering the car doc plan, but I still cant use the emergency brake or the battery drains. I understand from an online forum that the system could be updated so this would not happen but we were told by service that was not the case. My personal testing indicates that if I use the emergency brake the battery drains and if I dont, it doesnt. You decide.Addendum, Dave the service manager contacted us right after this went up and made a few things right. I appreciate his efforts and will see how this moves forward from here. Our out of pocket costs have dropped $231. but of course I had forgotten to add in the battery we had to buy shortly after buying the car so we are still close to $1K in service.

Had brake pads and rotors resurfaced in June 2021 on a 2011 CRV. Felt vibration in steering wheel on drive home afterwards. Never had that issue previously. Figured brake pads needed to break in a little to the rotors. Following month had steering rack replaced. On drive home same vibration. After I got home I wanted to look at new parts installed. Got under the car and saw Center Bearing Support bolts on driveshaft both backed out evenly. Could see tool marks on the head of the bolts. Took video of me being able to push up on the driveshaft.Tightened bolts up and drove back to dealership. No more vibration. Good thing that driveshaft didnt come apart while driving on Hwy 17 or doing 65 mph on 880.Could have been killed along with injury to other drivers.Have since sent Service Advisor text, video of loose parts, and voicemail message. No response. Also sent email to Service Manager. No response.Left voicemail message for GM.Whats interesting also is a multi-point inspection was performed under the car after the brake job. Driveshaft gets inspected.How did these bolts that were backed out get overlooked? Have lost confidence in Ocean Honda to perform simple mechanical work.

I bought a used car from this dealership nearly two months ago, paid in full without financing. Not only did they take over a month and multiple reminders to send me the registration, I have contacted the sales department and GM several times about having not received the title without so much as a single response, much less an apology for their negligence. I have also contacted the service department multiple times (phone, chat, email) about scheduling the car GPS tracker and clear coat service that I was *required* to pay for when I purchased the car, also with no response, so I guess Im not getting that either. I also contacted the sales department about whether I can get the photos they took of my car for the online listing because I am having an issue with insurance stating that the car was already damaged at the dealership. I havent received a response to this request either. Given this level of non-service, Im very glad that I have reputable local mechanics to go to for any issues instead of this dealership. Oh and the salesperson shut down any talk of negotiation and wouldnt entertain the possibility of bringing down the price at all, so be prepared to be ripped off

This last Sunday my vehicle was stolen from in front of my residence. Thanks to Ocean Hondas policy of offering a tracking app called ELO, myself and the Scotts Valley Police Department were able to track my SUV to its exact location by satellite and retrieve it under 15 minutes. My advise is, do not turn down the offer of the free Application for your mobile phone.

I have been a Honda owner for 42 years and always have my vehicles serviced at a Honda dealership. I have to say I am consistently disappointed in the service at Ocean Honda. This most recent visit the service advisor forgot to order a part potentially delaying the pickup by 4 days and I was charged $200 more than the quoted service cost estimated. I complained to the manager and Thankfully he had the part delivered overnight and took me at my word on the cost quoted.

My wife bought a new HRV here about 4 years ago along with the 5 year CarDoc coverage. Im amazed and frustrated that they continue to try and sell you service items which are already included in the CarDoc. When I dropped off my wifes car off for a service at 18k miles (it had missed the 15k check up).There were a list of service options offered at an additional cost. Several of the items on the Recommended Service Menu are already in the Car Doc coverage yet they assume that a customer will just blindly go with the recommendation. They recommended a cabin filter change which indeed was needed and wanted $150+ for the a 5 minute job. I purchased the filter on line for $13 and installed it myself in minutes. Every time I ask for a loaner which is included in the CarDoc coverage, they say only if one is available and they never sound optimistic that they can accommodate your need. In summary, not a great place to go, unfortunately, Honda dealerships are limited in the area.

The sales staff is belittling and rude. If youre okay wit h being talked to like a child then this is the place for you. Managers try to push warranties that are not honored like they are sold. Its almost like these guys think bullying someone into over paying for a car is a sustainable sales approach.After dealing with Ocean Honda this last week I think the used car sales culture is as toxic as the jokes and stereotypes.In the end I should actually thank you guys. With your poor sales approach, expectations to push costs and beat up Honda Certified cars onto consumers Ocean Honda saved me 25 or so grand.Stay away from Ocean Honda and their parent company Victory automotive group. Im willing to bet this toxic culture is from the top to the bottom.

I am a long time customer of the Honda dealership on Soquel Ave. I am disappointed in how I was treated yesterday during my service. I was very specific on what service I was requesting. I was assured several times that they would take care of my car and my concerns. I got the call that my car was done, I confirmed a third time, did you fix the problem, yes everything is taken care of. Last night after i picked up my car i found that my problem was not fixed. I went back to the manager, Joe who gave us completely different information then the first service tech who assisted me yesterday. There was nothing they could do and would not refund me. A second issue came up! I got home read through my paperwork and saw that they had marked a few things that needed immediate attention BUT NEVER said a word to me or offered to fix it. They just let my teenager drive off with these issues. I am beyond frustrated and thought I could trust the service techs.

Just bought my 2019 Honda Accord Sport 2.0T and was very pleased with the overall experience. I had been shopping around for two weeks trying to find the right color and trim. Pablo and the team came through and found just the one I was looking for. I purchased a used Honda CR-Z in January 2020. I brought it in for service today, September 22nd, for an oil change and tire rotation.My service manager was Joshua Justice. He expertly explained the options to me and made quick work of processing my work order.With an expected time of 1.5 to 2.00 hours....the car was done in just under an hour.Fact is, I purchased a used 2011 version of a CR-Z, in early 2020. You wouldnt know it from the level of service and interaction I was afforded this morning. I was treated as if Id just purchased the highest priced model they offer, and made to feel like Honda Family, if that is a thing?Anyway, I am Impressed. Im impressed with the service last January, when I went here looking for a vehicle. I was impressed that Honda offered better financing than my bank. Im impressed that whenever and wherever Ive been walking about the business waiting on paperwork or maintenance, Someone has Always come up to me and asked me if I need any assistance.Very well run Organization. I was very impressed with all that was done for me be able to buy the car of my choice. Since we are currently under some rules regarding the COVID virus, we spent time on the phone, but I also was able to take a test drive. Great shop, had my brothers 2008 hybrid serviced here. They did a transmission service and the next day the car was shuddering from a complete stop. I called them, they got me in the same day, put me in a loaner and kept the car overnight. Next day they called me to inform me that they had done a burnishing on the trans and another flush. They didnt charge me a penny and vibration is now gone. Kudos to these guys for the dedication even on an old car.

Tried buying a car from them from a salesman (Luis) that had no idea what he was talking about. He had to run to the back every question we asked him and lied about the car we were looking into. He said they were planning to detail it and were going to make it look “brand new” but when we finally came down to buy the car he said that was never the plan. He also pulled a price on Kelly blue book for the same car but in excellent condition and tried to sell for more then that amount!! The car ( Honda Fit 2010) was no where near excellent condition and their explanations for showing the price of the excellent condition was that it was the retail price and that’s just that. Very incorrect, it’s to show the price of cars in different conditions.Every conversation with them they just had to rudely point out that they need to show the car to someone else right this second and didn’t take our meeting serious at all. We asked to speak to the manager and he was as much of a clown as his “salesman”, raising the price more then their absurd original amount. Both were rude and didn’t try to negotiate whatsoever.Long story short, they tried to sell to us for 7200, our mechanic said it wasn’t worth over 5000 out the door from a dealership and then they tried to sell it to us for 7700.Don’t let these guys scam you they are rude and don’t deserve the commission they would make from you.

I came in looking to trade in my Toyota van, managers were right up front to greet me in dealership, TONY Carranza was the GM, he had a sales person name Pablo help me out, Good guy brought three different vehicles for me to choose from answered all my questions, I Decided to stay with getting 2019 Honda Odyssey EX with sensing, all about safety for my kids! Managers Martin and Joe were Helpful with my searching for my financing options, Quick application no pressure, Great car doc maintenance program, i’m not doing my own service, I picked a warranty option as well. I was greeted right away and asked when my appointment was. I had to wait only a few minutes while Wayne, my service provider finished with his last customer. Wayne told me it would take about an hour and he would call me to let me know when my Accord Hybrid was ready. He did call an hour later and told me it was ready to pick up. I had to bring my Honda Pilot in as the panel in the center of the space which contains the electronic shift had a light which would not go off as water during the recent rain storm had caused a short. Any way I brought the car in, the problem was confirmed, the part ordered, and the repair successfully carried out the following day. Wayne Sparks was the advisor and he was great. He confirmed that the part had been delivered? Saw me as soon as I got to the dealership and oversaw the repair.

Before you read the rest of this, I would like to thank Rick the service manager he was great he really went out of his way to solve problems and I appreciate that!! Other than that the service advisors always argues with me making me feel like its my fault wheather the car was fixed under warranty or not, accountability is crucial in your customers trust for service. They never have a loaner car available for long fixes. I dont know where to start! First my paint failed twice, then they forgot to tighten my oil pan bolt on a simple oil change and all my oil flew out all over my car, I had to get towed from San Jose, then there are forein items jammed in the sunroof?? Floormats were soaked!!Possibly causing water damage to the vehicle!! Before investigating began to state that it a mom and pops place and they wouldnt do that...lol?? What??Yeah !! I also make a service appt for 2:15 and they have me waiting for over 45 minutes before being seen by service advisor, unacceptable all of it!! So many issues, there are more but Im over it sooo, get a warrant people if you buy a Honda!!

Really great service. I am satisfied, although my car was not washed or cleaned how it has been at other dealers in the past. A rental or loaner vehicle was also not provided, used the shuttle to go home but pick up for shuttle to pick up car was a 3 hr wait.

The staff at Ocean honda is what keeps on bringing us back. Everyone there is very attentive, nice and willing to help. Our last purchased car was in great condition and when taking it in for a service everyone was very kind there too. Recently worked with Robert to purchase a new car and he was very helpful and answered all of our questions. We were not able to stay and learn about all the new features on our car, but Robert offered to teach us the next day when we were free. Definitely recommend Ocean Honda for your next car purchase!

I have been coming to Ocean Honda for over 10 years for service with my Honda. Mostly my service has been straight forward and relatively quick. Every once in a while I felt I got pushed into things I didnt need, and that were overpriced. If I would decide to get a 2nd opinion somewhere else I almost always was correct on that. But I kept coming back, partly for the $20 lifetime oil change I get from Honda. But today was a quite sad experience and I might not be coming back.I got a new and young service advisor I never had before. He seemed rushed and stressed from the beginning. I said I needed an oil change and wanted the battery checked. He wrote me a service sheet proposal which had a battery replacement added. I asked him if I they would call me first before they changed the battery and he said yes. He couldnt tell me how much the battery would be if I would chose to get it under the partial warranty of the previous battery (It was 4 years old, but Honda has a 100 monthwarranty which gets you a partial refund if the battery dies before those 100 months). The advisor told me to check in with somebody else on that question. Which worried me a bit, that he didnt know how to calculate that and that was one reason I had told him to call me before replacing the battery, IF they find the battery to be bad.When making the appointment I had gotten a 1 hr estimate for the oil change and car checkup (the battery is always on the regular check list when I come for oil change). After 1 1/2 hours I asked my advisor for an estimate how long it would still take. He said he would check and get back to me in 5 minutes. He came after 15 minutes and told me it would take another hour as they still had to check the alternator and the battery. So that wasnt done yet after 1 3/4 hours. I then told him they didnt need to check or replace the battery, I wouldnt get a new one from them. He acknowledged that. About 15 minutes later I got a call from him that now my car is done. I thought great and walked back to Ocean Honda. The advisor met me outside and told me that there had been a misunderstanding, a new battery had already been installed. So 15 minutes ago he said they still needed an hour to check the battery and alternator and now they had already replaced the battery? How is that possible? At that point of feeling jerked around I got angry, and told him I had clearly said he would need to call me before replacing the battery, and just 15 minutes ago, when the battery according to him was not yet installed, I had told him to not install it. He initially tried to deny that I had told him to call me before replacing the battery, which made me more indigent. After a few minutes of arguing he ran off and said he will take the battery out again. That was done by himself. Once finished, he had another worker drive the car out to me and he told me I could leave. I said I hadnt paid for the oil change yet and went inside and did so, and then left.Not sure I will be coming back, even for a $20 oil change. Clearly the advisors either need to be pushed less to make money of customers, given more time to do their work, and definitely need to be trained how to listen to customers and how to treat them respectfully. This could make it a much better experience to get service at Ocean Honda.

Avoid getting any services from this Honda. I went for an oil change and couple of months afterwards, I was informed (from another Honda) that they left the cap and filter loose and my car had been leaking this whole time. Even though they were at fault, they refused to reimburse me for the oil change or the engine diagnosis fee because they said their mistake didnt cause any damages to the engine. They are unprofessional and will NOTE take responsibility for any of their mistakes.

Every aspect of the process from vehicle check in, discussion with Service Advisor, estimated completion time, review of work performed, payment and vehicle pick up went smoothly and efficiently. My appointment was for routine oil change, set of new tires and wheel alignment. Prices seem fair and competitive.

They have a great waiting area for both adults and children and even have snacks (cereal bars, granola bars, and some kind of cookie) to offer while you wait. I went in today for parts. The parts department is helpful and fast. I wasn’t here long this time.I bought my car here and I was very satisfied with the experience and the deal I got. I have taken it in once for service and was satisfied with everything they did and how I was handled as a customer. The courtesy shuttle left something to be desired in the way of speed, but I understand I am not the only one using that service. Next time I will have more reasonable expectations or make my own arrangements.I like Ocean Honda and will continue to shop there as long as I live in the area.

My experience at Ocean Honda was amazing. I was looking at the CR-V and was approached by Flip Sophie. He was extremely nice, and asked me what I was interested in rather than trying to profile me and sell me what he thought I needed (my experience at Toyota). On my test drive instead of a silent awkward ride, Flip told me all about the cars capabilities and features and told me how to use each of them. It was nice to be able to try out the features on my test drive rather than trying to figure them out later on. Everyone I have worked with through the purchase of my car has been extremely helpful and accommodating, even when I was indecisive about a few options. The car I wanted wasnt on their lot, but they were able to secure the exact car the NEXT DAY! Another dealership I went to said they wouldnt be able to get the car for a month! I couldnt be happier with my experience at Ocean Honda and especially Flip Sophie. If you go in, ask for Flip!

DO NOT BUY A CAR FROM HERE! Honda’s are known to last.... until 2016 . Honda is being sued for their mishap on ac going out in 35k miles or right after warranty. I WENT TO GET IT FIXED AS I DO HAVE EXTENDED WARRANTY! They’re not telling customers it’s breaking essentially scamming people because they won’t cover it! THEY LIED THROUGH THEIR TERTH. THEY SAID MY WARRANTY WONT COVER IT BECAUSE FREON IS T LEAKING... said nothing else is broke.. BS I DIDNT PAY ANYTHING TOOK TO DIFF DEALER AND EVERYTHING GOT COVERED. SACAMMERS!!!! I pulled your card! THE WHOLE AC WAS BAD. FREON DONT JUST Disappear!I took to other dealer and the condenser and another part was bad! My salesman, Flip, was knowledgeable and patient during the months that it took me to settle on my new vehicle (Insight 2019). The finance guy (he makes up all the sales papers) was efficient and no pressure. Unlike other dealerships, I only had to shake hands with 3 people, not the usual half dozen (whats that all about, do they think Im royalty?). Ocean Honda also has a very large inventory and nice showroom.Update: 1 March 2021. I stand by my previous review for the sales department, but I have had a number of bad experiences with the service department. The first three visits service visits they did 4 things wrong that were just plain negligence. And the people at checkout were unconscious. Another time I had my service rep absolutely not listen to me (on the phone) while I carefully explained what I was wrong (constant rattle noise). I heard him typing, but it turns out he was not writing down my issue, he was doing something else. There have been other troubles with service.I will never buy another car from Ocean Honda - too bad for the sales department.

I was greeted as soon as I drove in by a courteous attendant.After only a couple of minutes my Service Advisor Eric. He was friendly,polite as well as very knowledgeable about the service my car currently needed. He quickly input all the details and had me a printed copy to review. I think it only took 10 minutes at the most. I went to a local restaurant for breakfast and upon my return I only sat in the lounge area for 2 minutes when my Service Advisor Eric notified me the cars service was completed. Everything went smoothly and completed in the quoted time frame. This is why I have been going to Open Honda for over 16 years.

DO NOT BUY FROM HERE!I went here to look at a used Honda and had the worst experience with Luis and the sales manager. Heres why you shouldnt buy from here:- My salesman (Luis) seemed nice at first, but I quickly realized that he had a very awkward demeanor and was extremely hard to talk or negotiate with- Because of his demeanor, I asked to speak with the manager. He ended up being extremely rude and treated me with no respect or care- Besides the horrible attitude of the staff, the car simply wasnt worth what they were asking (are they ever?). I brought the car to my mechanic, who said it was worth at least $2k less than they wanted. KBB said it was worth $1k less. They wouldnt budge on the price and had the audacity to offer a $500 discount as if it was a HUGE favor to me as a local- They had said that the car was going to get body work done (it had red circles on all of the body imperfections and everything) and when I later asked about the bodywork, I was gaslighted and they said they never said that and the car would be sold as is. Which further proved my point that the car wasnt worth what they were asking.Overall, my experience was uncomfortable, infuriating, and a total waste of time. I would recommend giving your money to someone nicer and who actually gives a shred of care about their customers.

Great staff and friendly. I left my car there to see what they can do to my engine. The day I left my car there I didnt get a call back on what was done to my car and what will happen next. I called them and kept being transferred to voicemail of the associate and a run around of two associates with the same name. I was irritated till finally I got an answer back. They told me the car is ready and to come on in to pick it up.Upon getting to the shop, they were clueless on what is wrong with the engine and they didnt want to work on the engine due to the components that are not meant for the car. They sat me down and talked about the engine on what was wrong and what they found. I already told them prior what was wrong and what my scanner picked up when I diagnose the car. They went into details but that got no where. I had to get another tow truck to take my car out of there prior to having a tow truck bring my car there. Instead of saving money I wasted $140 in towing fees just to hear the problems what I told them already.Now ocean Honda is suppose to take care of their own kind of cars, why is my Honda not good enough to be worked on regardless what components there are. UNTIL the day I met with Pearce European & Japanese Service. They went beyond my expectations and were not afraid to work on the engine. I got my car in working condition thanks to them. Ocean Honda needs to retrain their mechanics on how to work on a Honda engine. Especially a s2000 engine. I will never take my car to this Ocean Honda for repairs. My trust and loyalty went away. If anyone cant get your car repaired. I recommend Pearce European & Japanese Service. I would give them 1 million stars for their service if I could
