These guys were kind at first until they returned my vehicle to me with scratches down the driver side door. The team at Car-X was doing a routine oil change on my vehicle when they left the driver side door open while lifting up the car and it scratched through the paint aggressively. They accepted fault, asked me to get a quote for repairs, and said they would pay for it. Then the nightmare began. They’ve dodged my phone calls, my insurance company’s phone calls, and have been completely unresponsive for two years — refusing to pay for the damages they caused. I am now out hundreds of dollars in repairs that I paid for and feel stupid for ever trusting these people in the first place. Character and accountability mean a lot to me and Car-X clearly displayed that they have none.

After researching shops to have my brakes fixed I decided to give Midas of South Bend a try. Kelly was knowledgeable and made room for me for an inspection. The jobwas a little more than I had anticipated. Kelly showed me and explained in a way even i could understand what was going on and why the necessary replacement of a caliper. While I was waiting I had the opportunity to witness Kelly with a few customers who knew very little about cars like me get the Honest opinion from a man who knows his stuff! Dave and his team are true and honest in their profession. My husband and I had our cars fixed here-- for brake lights and tire puncture, respectively. We will be back here for any needed vehicle repairs or service.

I brought my car in around 1pm on a Monday afternoon and the man who helped me was very kind, I think he realized how upset I was about having an issue with my car and he was quite comforting about it. I left my car with them to get it repaired. (I think my muffler rusted and broke in half, I cant really remember). By 3pm, I received a call letting me know my car was ready to be picked up. Considering the amount of cars in the shop and in the parking lot when I dropped it off, I was surprised by how quick my car was ready. The total repair cost was only $87 which was far less than I anticipated. My car went from being ridiculously loud while I was driving to practically silent. Ill definitely take my car here the next time I have an issue, everyone I interacted with was very kind!

I have lived on close to this place practically most of my life and never thought about checking it out until today. Every staff member I met was very generous and honest and they did a full oil change on my car that I had bought from a private dealer just a day ago. They let me know all the problems I may deal with and gave me an estimate of what it would cost. Pretty much the best oil change I’d ever had lol. I will definitely be coming back to this place to get maintenance done.

Not going to go back, overpriced I think, After finding the part online(local) and to see how long it takes to put on. $25-50 for the part and it takes 15 minutes to switch out maybe less . They charged me over 500.00.

I took my mini cooper to get an alignment with new tires. There was too much toe in. My front tires were wearing every 5 to 6 months . I own this mini for about five years and never had this problem until I went to car x. Even one mechanic said I was right. Then when the manager looked at it. He tried to say the frame was bent. They didnt do anything about it.

Dave and his guys did a wonderful job for me.I was traveling from New York to Minneapolis to visit my boys and had a horrible clunking sound coming from the back of the car. Ive owned the car 8 days and was spooked. I thought I was looking at an expensive suspension problem. I stopped for the night and got a motel room.I showed up as they opened and explained my predicament. He was able to look at my car first thing and figured out it was just loose lug nuts and didnt charge me a thing.Sometimes we have runs of bad luck, and I was expecting the worst. The peace of mind I received at dropping off the car and knowing Id be taken care of was worth a fortune.The fact that they took such good care of me, knowing that Id probably never see them again, speaks volumes.Id recommend them in a heartbeat.Thank you Dave.

I show up with a flat tire and the guys check it, determine the belt is broken and that I need to replace both rear tires, and then have no complaints and place no pressure on me when I tell them that I can get the tires cheaper elsewhere. When I ask how much I owe, they say that there is no charge. These guys are respectful and honest - two very attractive qualities in a car service facility. Also, Ive been there a few times for oil changes and theyre great, even changing my wipers for free. Great guys.

I couldn’t start my car and had to get it towed to Car-X by a separate company. Car-X saw my car right away and upon discovering that the issue was just a loose battery connection, as I had suspected, didn’t charge me a dime. I will definitely be coming back here next time I have an issue or need an inspection.

Ive been going here for the last few months and their price is reasonable. They are very polite and they tell you what can and cant do on your car. So far I been please with the service, and they try to do it in a reasonable time. I dont write reviews at all but they deserve 5 stars with the work they are doing now.

I was traveling across the country, east to west coast, quite literally. My throttle body gave out on the road and I had to stay overnight in south bend. I went as soon they opened and they found the issue and fixed it within 2 hours. Very friendly and knowledgeable. Topped off my fluids as well. Highly recommend if you somehow land in south bend with car trouble or you live here.

I was introduced to this place sometime in 2002, when I was broke and driving a problematic car with many issues. I am traveling and had a check engine light pop on. I took it to a auto parts store to have them read the code, it was an airflow sensor. I took it to Car-X to see how much it would cost to have them fix it. They knew I was traveling and got it right in to take a look, came in and said there was no code and verified the auto parts place hadnt cleared it. Then brought me out to the garage, showed me where the sensor was located and the mechanic was going to spray a cleaner on it to help. They then verified that the code was gone and sent me on my way at no charge. These guys are amazing, if I lived in the area they would be my mechanics every time!!! A big Thank YOU!!!

I have had them save me money, by not performing a repair another shop told me I needed. They could have easily performed the repair and charged me their rate. Ill always come back here.

The guys here were unbelievable! My muffler broke on the way to a fun day of pampering myself, on my one day off. Needless to say, thats not what you want. But, the situation was not all bad! They addressed the issue, explained the situation to me, and fixed it in way under the 45minutes they estimated! They also told me it would be no charge and that I should pay it forward! Wow!! 30 year customer and have always had great service. Asked Dave if they would turn brake rotors for me and he said yes. Called me back 2 hours after I dropped them off and told me they were junk. Said they were too rusty to turn. These were OEM rotors off of a 2015 vehicle that only had 60k miles and had never been turned. They had minimal rust on them. Midas had no problem turning them. Wasted 2 hours of my time and did not appreciate getting lied to. Great way to lose a loyal customer.

After a 10 hr drive with 3 yr old and 8 yr old fighting almost the whole way my wheel started wobbling. Anxiety was threw the roof I stopped there in a panic with 2 miserable kids worried how much it was going cost to fix it. Hoping this was honest place that wouldnt take my money ...My rim was bent ! They look at my car balance my tires, told me I can make to where I was going and no charge. even let the boys help them put tires back on and change their mood for rest of the trip! Thank you mark for being honest, fixing the problem and, and letting the boys help you fix the car. You was a life saver if I lived closer I would definitely be a regular customer! But when Im passing through I will stop by! And tell all my friends how wonderful you guys are!!

I was out of town and needed immediate repair of brakes. I stopped at their location and was immediately treated to professional service at a fair price. I was out in less than a couple of hours.

Had four brand new tires mounted and balanced on my wifes suv. She had to drive to OHare that night but Within four hours one tire went flat due to a new valve sten they installed but didnt check the seal. Also, none of the lug nuts on that same tire were tight. One had actually fallen off. Contacted the manager, no apologies, just bring it back and we can fix it he said. I had it fixed at a more professional establishment and will never be back!

They were fast on getting the work done. They told me what needed to get done and what I could hold off on until I had the money.

They have a convenient key drop box to drop your car off on off hours of the shop to help with customers schedules. A little pricy but in a convenient location for the north side of town

I had to make an emergency stop cause my car was HOT!!! They helped me immediately! So patient and kind. I had a dr. Appointment within 30 mins and they fixed me up and I was on my way. If I have another problem Im going to them. Thank you guys for being so nice!

CarX in Roseland is my go to place for car service. They always treat me with respect and cost for services is reasonable. Today they checked by brake pads before I leave on a trip out west. The brakes are fine and they did not charge me for the inspection. I highly recommend them for most auto services.

A simple alternator replacement was estimated by carX as $588, including an one-hour labor fee. Then I decided to purchase the part myself and went another place, took them only half an hour and cost only $320 in total (parts + labor).Similar thing at CarX happened before, a spark plug + a set of wire cost over $400.I understand repair companies need profits, but the above prices, going way too further.Remember: always do the research and try to purchase the part by yourself from chain retail stores, then find a place with reasonable labor estimate.

I stopped by today to have Car-X investigate an oil leak on my car resulting from an oil change conducted the previous day by my Infiniti dealer. Turns out the drain plug was only partially inserted and was half a turn away from completely falling out. The Car-X crew tightened the drain plug, confirmed the oil level was ok, and did not charge me for their services. Thanks again to the Car-X crew and I greatly appreciate their high level of service and integrity.

Our son is a student up the street from CarX and had a problem with his car. 11 1/2 hours from home and we had NO idea where to send him.CarX was highly recommend by a friend who has had their cars serviced there for the past 10 years. Getting an appointment was easy. The service was AMAZING and we thank God because they probably saved our sons life. We had his tires aligned at our service station at home and they forgot to use the tool the tightens the lug nuts. Yes, CarX looked the car over top to bottom and quickly discovered the error. Then didnt charge us for checking the vehicle, the didnt charge as for putting the tires on correctly and they asked that our son come back before heading home so they could check the lug nuts, tires etc... Additionally, his check engine light has been on and they found the problem and fixed that. They will have our business as long as anyone in our family is in South Bend. Wanted to charge $500 for replacing a leaking/broke break line and flushing the lines. Told me that my break light was still on because they broke my emergency brake while working on the car (after blaming me for using it while my break line was leaking, even though the only time I used it was to park the car in their lot). Told me itd probably be another $200 to fix the e-brake since they have to disassemble the console. E-Brake was fine.

Went in with a alternator issue solved it in one hour.Kudoos to the mechanics...they ROCK!!

As he was working on the car, he found a small collapsed hose and replaced it at no charge. Ive never hard problems with a CarX. Highly recommend.
